I will admit that this is not the best crime series (it isn't exactly a cozy as it plays in LA) I have ever read. But if you are looking for light entertainment, this could be the series for you. The stories are short, but fun to read. They are the kind of book you like to read in the evening before going to bed.
As with the previous ones, I had my suspicions as to the culprit basically as soon as he first appeared (though I am not so good with motive). And as is normal for this series there is no great detective work involved in uncovering the culprit, just Trudie's ability that people want to share their life story with her.
As always there are nice interactions with the other characters (the assessment of Edwin's talent at the beginning was fun as always). But I am going to admit though that I have never cared less about a relationship than with Trudie and Griffin. As this is an integral part of most cozies (even if this one plays in a big city), this is kind of a letdown.
