Ruby Hart didn't expect to find her ex fiance Ollie in her house.The only problem is that Ollie died,yet his soul can't move on.Ruby is trying to find his body and deal with her feelings that never really go away.Will she get everything done in time,or will she lose Oliie forever?
It was enjoyable paranormal second chance romance.I could feel the love in Hart family,the way they are there for each other.Ruby while hurt was still gracious enough to hear Oliie out,and help him.Ollie was a likable character,while his decisions were not so smart he really did feel sorry and trying to get Ruby forgive him.It was I would say half open door romance,very cozy and tiny bit spicy,nothing out of charts to make me bush and I like variety of those,so it was a nice change after few naughty reads.The plot and mystery add a nice touch and I really hoped they resolve the issue in time.My first book by this author and hope to read more.
If you like paranormal second chance romance,I would recommend this one.

This book was so uniquely different! I was hooked from the very beginning. I loved learning what was going on right along with the main character! This paranormal second Chance stole my heart! I loved this couple so much. Ruby and Ollie have such a sweet connection you feel yourself soften for Ollie, you don't know when it happens but next thing you know you are cheering for this couple to have HEA. Amy is a new to me Author and let me tell you she has my undivided attention. I plowed through this book. It had me laughing, had me gasping and had me in tears. Yes it is very light on the spice, but there is still a beautiful love story and the story itself is fantastic! 10 out of 10 and I would recommend this to anyone.

Ruby Hart was a hopeless romantic until her fiancé, Ollie, cheated on her. Six months later, she sees his ghost in her room. She discovers why he really left her, which caused his death. Except that soul isn’t leaving. Worse, Ruby finds out that she is a navigator, a person who can see ghosts and help them to move on. Hart and Souls is a quick but satisfying paranormal romance. I really love Ollie and Ruby, and story as a lot of fun. The audiobook was excellent. I love Vanessa Edwin and the emotions that she brought to the story.

This was a great paranormal romcom romance. We have Grim Reaper Women, yes, Women, zombies, mentionsof vampires, witches and a cool, cranky cat named Goblin. Ruby (a.k.a Ruby Tuesday) and Ollie were set to get married 6 months earlier until some things screwed it up, and now they are on an adventure to keep him away from his body lol this was such a fun book and I highly recommend it

Wow, I was gripped by this story, and in the last 30%, I was on the edge of my seat with my heart racing. I felt a whole range of emotions while reading this. In the first 20%, it gave me Just Like Heaven the movies kind of feel and I was so ready for it. Then it took me on this paranormal, mysterious, suspenseful journey that kept me completely engaged I loved it.
Starting with Ruby, I was gutted for her from the very beginning, especially with her interaction with her dad. I was nearly in tears, and then what happened the night she broke up with Ollie felt like the blows just kept coming. Ollie was hiding himself in the relationship and had a bit of a secret identity going on. But once the truth started to unravel, you could understand why he did what he did. They had great chemistry and connection despite everything they were facing. I love that it also made me laugh and the family dynamic was brilliant. I loved watching the story unfold, and it was nice to dive into something a little different.
I also listened to the audiobook, and I will read anything Vanessa Edwin narrates. For a solo narration project, it was brilliant. She’s always so clear and easy to listen to, and I highly recommend picking it up in this format.
Lastly, I look forward to reading more of Amy’s work in the future as I really enjoyed this one.

Hart and Souls is the first book in the Wandering Point series, and I can honestly say it wasn't what I expected and I mean that in the absolute BEST way.
First, can we please take a moment to appreciate the solo narration of Vanessa Edwin.... She was absolutely phenomenal. This audiobook has a large cast of characters, and somehow every single one had a distinct voice and personality. I never once had to stop and figure out who was talking because each character was brought to life so effortlessly. Vanessa continues to amaze me with her talent, and this performance is easily one of my favorites.
Ollie and Ruby were once engaged until one devastating phone call tore them apart. Ruby was left questioning everything she thought she knew about the man she loved. Before Ruby can get over Ollie, she receives another heartbreaking call, Ollie has died in an accident.
Except...he comes back as a ghost.
As if that isn't enough to turn Ruby's world upside down, she discovers she can see ghosts and learns she's a Navigator....someone whose purpose is to help souls find their way to the afterlife. Add in an intriguing mystery woven throughout the story, and I was hooked from beginning to end.
I fell hard for Ollie and Ruby and found myself rooting for them every step of the way. While the paranormal aspect makes this story incredibly unique, at its heart, this is a romance. It's about love, loss, forgiveness, second chances, and finding hope when everything feels impossible.
And let me tell you...this book hurt.....A LOT!
There were moments that absolutely broke my heart, emotional scenes that caught me completely off guard, and twists I never saw coming. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, Amy J. Elliott reminded me that I didn't.
By the time I reached the ending, I was sitting there with all the feelings, completely satisfied and convinced this book deserved every single one of its stars. Well done AMY!!!! You have a new fan for life!

I went into this book totally blind and I ended up absolutely LOVING it. Amy J. Elliot, you got me good and all up in my feelings. 🥹 It's such a different take on a paranormal romance but this little gem has quite the emotional story layered into it. At its core, it's a story about healing, forgiveness and learning to accept what life throws at you.
Ollie and Ruby, once engaged, are ripped apart by a devestating phone call. She's questioning everything she knew and trusted about Ollie. Just when she thinks she's able to pick up and possibly move on, she gets the news that Ollie has been killed. She's hit again with trying to figure out all the feelings swirling around but what really takes her by surprise is the fact that Ollie isn't truly dead, he's come back to her as a ghost and she's given the task of trying to help him navigate his way to the afterlife.
Not only is the new job as a "navigator" kinda blowing her mind but dealing with Ollie once again isn't easy. On top of it, she KNOWS Ollie was keeping a huge secret from her before his death. The mystery behind that adds another layer to the plot. I instantly fell for these two. Ollie and Ruby truly loved each other at one point but can she separate her feelings for Ollie in order to help him back to the afterlife?
This is such a unique love story and has some incredibly tender moments. My heart broke for Ruby at times and plot drops that shook me but piece by piece we uncover the truth and revelations that almost don't seem possible. Ollie is so charming and lovable and these two never really lose the chemistry that they had together despite him keeping secrets from Ruby. Every single interaction they have is filled with love, regret and longing for one another. Gah! I just absolutely ADORED this book and I can't wait for Book 2 in the series.

The very first chapter broke my heart. It was so sad, but it also promised that this was going to be a great emotional story. And it truly was.
Ruby had finally started moving on after ending her engagement to the man she loved; the man she believed had betrayed her. Then he comes back from the dead... and little by little, the truth begins to unravel. To make things even more complicated, Ruby discovers that she's a Navigator, destined to help souls cross over but Ollie can't. Imagine having to confront the love of your life after believing he cheated on you, only to realize things weren't what they seemed. We uncover the truth alongside Ruby, piece by piece, and every revelation seemed crazier than the last. Ollie was funny, charming, loyal, patient, and so easy to love, despite all the secrets he kept. Their chemistry never disappeared. Every moment they shared was filled with love, longing, regret, and hope. They found their way back to each other only after his death, knowing that time was working against them. Ruby fought to keep him with her while searching for a way to save him or help him move on.
The Hart women quartet was a highlight of this book. They brought so much warmth, humor, and chaos to the story in the best possible way. They stood by Ruby and Ollie through everything, and helped them uncover the truth. And then there is Goblin... I loved that cat! Cats are such mysterious, weird creatures, aren't they?
The ending wrecked me, just like the beginning did. My heart ached alongside the characters, and although I kept hoping everything would work out, there were moments when I genuinely couldn't see how it possibly could.

Hart and Souls by Amy J. Elliott is ridiculously fun. Like, the funnest of fun. This paranormal romcom takes tropes you already know and love and gives them a fresh, unique spin and a ghostly twist that kept me completely engaged from beginning to end.
Ruby Hart and Oliver Blackwood’s second chance romance had me invested right from the prologue. This story starts pulling on your heartstrings immediately, and it never really lets go. The romance is real, emotional, and full of the kind of deep, undying love that gets you right in the h(e)art. I mean there is just SO much love woven throughout this story, both romantic and familial, and it made me feel all the feelings.
The characters are truly the BEST. I was cheering for Ruby and Ollie every step of the way and celebrating every victory alongside them. The Hart women are said to be cursed by love, but are they really cursed or just special? My vote is special. The heart wants what the heart wants, and mine wants romance just like Ruby's.
The writing is witty, charming, and packed with one liners that amused me to no end. This book somehow manages to be both lighthearted and emotional at the same time. I'm not entirely sure how Amy J. Elliott pulls that off, but she absolutely does.
And can we talk about the supporting cast? Sloane is the best kind of crazy cousin everyone needs. Add in Aunt Moira and Mom Maeve, and the female empowerment is off the charts. My one tiny complaint is that part of the ending felt the teeniest tiniest bit rushed. Then again, that might just be me being a brat because I wanted more like a toddler wanting candy.
What else can I say? This book is a paranormal romance lover's delight. And I was definitely delighted.

Ruby Hart and Oliver Blackwood’s second chance romance had me invested right from the prologue. This story starts pulling on your heartstrings immediately, and it never really lets go. The romance is real, emotional, and full of the kind of deep, undying love that gets you right in the h(e)art. I mean there is just SO much love woven throughout this story, both romantic and familial, and it made me feel all the feelings.
The characters are truly the BEST. I was cheering for Ruby and Ollie every step of the way and celebrating every victory alongside them. The Hart women are said to be cursed by love, but are they really cursed or just special? My vote is special. The heart wants what the heart wants, and mine wants romance just like Ruby's.
The writing is witty, charming, and packed with one liners that amused me to no end. This book somehow manages to be both lighthearted and emotional at the same time. I'm not entirely sure how Amy J. Elliott pulls that off, but she absolutely does.
And can we talk about the supporting cast? Sloane is the best kind of crazy cousin everyone needs. Add in Aunt Moira and Mom Maeve, and the female empowerment is off the charts. From the very first chapter, this book wrapped me in a perfect blend of heartfelt romance, supernatural intrigue, and quiet emotional depth that kept me turning pages late into the night.
Ruby Hart is such a lovable character, she’s a librarian who runs a book club called Big Tippers and Bodice Rippers, still nursing the wounds of a broken engagement while clinging to her belief in happy endings through the stories she loves.
She’s the kind of heroine you immediately want to root for.
When her ex-fiancé Oliver’s ghost shows up after what she thought was his death, the story takes off in the most delightful and poignant way.
The chemistry between Ruby and Ollie crackles with all the unresolved tension of a second chance romance, but the ghostly twist adds layers of tenderness, frustration, and humor that made me laugh and ache in equal measure.
Living with your ex 24/7 would test anyone, but watching Ruby grapple with forgiveness while discovering the truth about Ollie’s hidden life as a hunter of the undead felt fresh and compelling.
The Navigator lore woven through the Hart family history is fascinating without ever overwhelming the central love story.
What i liked was the bittersweet push/pull of loving someone you know you might have to let go.
The author writes the romance with genuine heart, balancing sweet moments, banter, and real stakes in a way that never feels contrived. The supernatural elements…. zombies, tethering, the race to lay Ollie’s soul to rest, elevate the second chance trope into something truly unique.
By the end, I was fully invested in whether these two could find their happily ever after, even knowing the cost.
If you enjoy ghostly romances with strong character development, a touch of mystery, and that perfect ache of “what if we only had this little time,” Hart and Souls is an absolute must read.
I’ll definitely be looking for more from this author.

I'm definitely on a paranormal romance kick lately and this one definitely fit the bill. In it we follow Ruby, who has had a bit of a rough time, what with breaking up with her fiancé - when she receives word that he's actually died. She soon finds out though that things are not that cut and dry, considering she goes home to find Ollie in her house...less corporeal, but there. Thus started their journey to figure out what was going on, while also coming to grips with what that means for them and their relationship. There's a lot of heartbreak, humor and hijinks so it was a very enjoyable read. There are a lot of things along the way that Ruby and Ollie learn about each other, some resolving of miscommunication, but also some further miscommunication that they need to figure out. The relationships between Ruby, her cousin, mother and aunt are also wonderful to read about and set a good foundation for where the series may go (excited to see that the 2nd book is about Sloane!).
While this is a fun read, and definitely fits that cozy paranormal romance box, there's also a lot of real trauma and baggage that Ruby especially has to work through - be warned death of a parent and the grief associated is discussed - but the way Ruby processes and comes to terms with that is beautifully done.
It still remains to be seen if the Hart women are truly cursed or not, so maybe that question will be answered in the future!

I had such a good time with this one. I went in expecting a fun paranormal romance, but I wasn’t expecting it to have so much heart.
Ruby suddenly discovers she can see ghosts and learns she’s a navigator, someone who helps souls move on. The first ghost she meets just happens to be her ex-fiancé, Ollie. The catch? He isn’t exactly dead yet. That setup immediately hooked me, and I loved watching the mystery unfold as they searched for answers together.
This story blends second chance romance, paranormal romance, and a touch of mystery really well. The romance never got lost behind the supernatural elements, and the emotional moments were balanced with plenty of humor. Ruby and Ollie’s chemistry felt genuine, and it was easy to root for them as old misunderstandings came to light and they worked through their complicated past.
I listened to the audiobook and Vanessa Edwin absolutely nailed the narration. She gave each character their own personality and brought both the emotional scenes and the funny moments to life. It made an already charming story even more enjoyable.
If you’re looking for a sweet paranormal romance with lovable characters, emotional healing, a fun ghostly twist, and a satisfying happily ever after, this is definitely worth picking up.

She’s been doing her best to move on over the past six months but that goes out the window when she finds out he has passed in an accident. That moving on gets even tougher when she finds out she comes from a long line of navigators who help souls transition but Ollie can’t go. It turns out his body is und3ad. And those lies weren’t about unfaithfulness, they were about hiding his job. And even has feelings that never went away begin to haunt her she knows when the time comes she has to let him go.
Ollie is such a secret green flag and the more we found out about him the more I loved him. Despite seeing everything from Ruby’s POV, I still felt like we understood him and his heart so well. And I was cackling at his interactions with her cousin. They had the best dynamic especially when she was antagonizing Ollie even though she couldn’t see him.
Also don’t worry my romance girlies there is some steam and ghost steam at that. I will not be explaining further you’ll have to read it to satisfy your curiosity 😂
And when I say I almost never cry when I read, I mean it but this book got me and it got me good. At the end of the way this is genre true so do not worry you’ll get your HEA but you’re going to feel all the feels first.

The story followed Ruby through her discovering that she was part of the supernatural community, she was what they called a navigator, they act as the “grim reaper” for souls who pass away. Imagine her surprise when her ex-fiancé is her first ghost. Though plot twist, he’s only half way dead, he was both a ghost and a zombie. As the story progresses Ruby is trying to find Ollie’s body to help move him on.
Ruby had a lot of growth happen throughout the book. She went from a meek, reserved girl to someone who was standing up for herself and pretty resilient as she navigated through her life being turned upside down 3 times in the space of about 6months. She was sassy and quick witted and I loved her relationship with her cousin.
The family support and camaraderie in this book was so lovely. I loved how the Hart women rallied for each other and were there to support each other through anything!
I really liked this story! I liken it to the romcom version of the show Ghost Whisperer, so good! I laughed so many times while reading but I also cried. Chapter 26 got me. I did think that the last chapter jumped a lot though. Kinda wish it was fleshed out a tiny bit more, but that’s a pretty minor grip really, it still wrapped the story up nicely!

Hart and Souls had me hooked from the very first chapter. I knew this story was going to pull at my heartstrings because the MMC isn't exactly part of the physical world anymore. My heart broke for Ruby from the start, she lost Ollie once through heartbreak and then a second time through his death.
Despite the emotional weight, this story is surprisingly fun. The witty banter, heartfelt moments, and fantastic cast of characters kept me smiling through my heartache. I really loved the Hart family dynamic and the side characters added so much personality. The banter between Ruby and Sloane was so real and you could really sense the depth of their relationship.
The mystery surrounding Ollie's death and the supernatural world unfolded so cleverly. Between witches, demon hunters, vampires, ghosts, and plenty of unexpected twists, there was always something new to discover without the story ever feeling overwhelming.
I flew through this book, finishing it almost in one sitting. I was so happy with how everything came together, and it perfectly set up the next book in the series.

I received this ARC from Amy J. Elliott through The Author Agency. I finished reading last night, and I'm still having trouble processing this book. My rating is a 3.5.
I am a fan of paranormal romance, and I love a second-chance romance. This one took me a while to get into, but once I did, I was invested.
Hart and Souls is a comical paranormal romance with both theatrical plotting and deep emotional undercurrents. At times, I wanted the love story to move along faster and for the characters to communicate, but I think it's because I knew I really liked this pairing.
When Oliver Blackwood first appears, I found it hard not to think of THE Oliver Blackwood of Boyfriend Material. This Oliver (or Ollie) is very different. He's naturally confident and charismatic. When he shows up to his ex-fiance as a ghost, he's immediately flirting with her even though their relationship ended poorly 6 months prior.
Ruby takes much longer to warm up to having Ollie back in her life. The truth of why their relationship ended unravels slowly. They miss so many opportunities to clear the air because of all the paranormal chaos.
I also want to mention the ghost sex. Once it was introduced that Ruby and Ollie could touch, I knew they were going to F@ck. Yet, when it happened, I was thinking, "Oh my word, she's f@cking a ghost..."
With all that said, the ending nearly ruined me. The last couple of chapters had me sobbing. I could not stop crying. This is a genre-true romance, so don't worry, but it looks bleak for a while. I had a serious emotional reaction, deeply feeling Ruby's grief. The writing felt so real and profound that I could not help but feel her emotions viscerally.
I am curious to see what happens in book 2 with Sloane and the vamp. I love a good enemies-to-lovers romance.

This was my first read by the author and a very interesting one as it's definitely a genre that intrigues me. In the beginning, I was searching for some steady feet as I didn't know which way was up unfortunately as I couldn't seem to figure out what was going on. There was something about the chemistry between Ruby & Ollie that lured me back in but there were some weird moments. When the pace finally picked up, I was still trying to figure out where we'd go next but the intriguing love between Ruby & Ollie held its own. A very ghostly adventure.
When Ruby finds Ollie standing before her, she's definitely surprised as they went their seperate ways but it doesn't take long before she realises that he's fysically not there. As realisation sinks in, her cousin reveals a secret that has been in the Hart family for ages. Trying to find a way to release Ollie, it seems that there's still a love hidden underneath it all. Everyone's trying their hardest to hopefully have that happy ending for both of them but it's not as easy as it looks to find out the truth and to find out a way to make it all happen, without any further hurt. Will it all be okay in the end?...

This is such a sweet and cozy listen that has some unique elements and a spin on paranormal romance that sets it apart from the rest. I did not expect this one to go in the direction it did and I was hooked from the start. There’s definitely an emotional element to this story that will make you feel the gamut of emotions, but overall I found it to be more of a feel good vibe with a touch of mystery. It’s on the lighter side for spice, but the pining and chemistry between these two was excellent so I didn’t even miss it. And the ending! Be still my heart, I was so happy with it!
🎧 I am quite selective on picking up books with solo narration as I think there’s another level of skill and talent that goes into it, but Vanessa is one that is a no brainer for me. She met and exceeded every expectation I had plus some, and knocked this one out of the park. She flexed her range of characters and that swoony man voice expertly and I enjoyed every second of her performance. It was a great listen!

This is such a sweet and cozy listen that has some unique elements and a spin on paranormal romance that sets it apart from the rest. I did not expect this one to go in the direction it did and I was hooked from the start. There’s definitely an emotional element to this story that will make you feel the gamut of emotions, but overall I found it to be more of a feel good vibe with a touch of mystery. It’s on the lighter side for spice, but the pining and chemistry between these two was excellent so I didn’t even miss it. And the ending! Be still my heart, I was so happy with it!
🎧 I am quite selective on picking up books with solo narration as I think there’s another level of skill and talent that goes into it, but Vanessa is one that is a no brainer for me. She met and exceeded every expectation I had plus some, and knocked this one out of the park. She flexed her range of characters and that swoony man voice expertly and I enjoyed every second of her performance. It was a great listen!

This was such a fun and cute read! We have ghosts, zombies, a vampire and soul navigators with a super cute second chance romance. I was hooked in from the start.
I truly loved both Ruby and Ollie. After ending their engagement, 6 months later, Ruby gets word that Ollie has died in a car accident, but then Ollie appears. What Ruby didn't know about herself, because her "sense" hadn't manifested yet, was that she is a soul navigator and now Ollie is tethered to her. Instead of passing on, they have bigger fish to fry.
We go on a journey through this one and I was loving every minute of it. There were moments I was laughing, moments full of action, and moments where I was totally in my feels. I was about to throw my Kindle across the room towards the end, but then things took a different turn. Thank goodness!! I loved all of the side characters and how their family dynamic was.

Oh my gosh! Hart and Souls by Amy J. Elliott broke my heart in pieces but thankfully she was able to put it back together. In this epic love story, Ruby must help save her ex-fance's soul after an attack. She may have thought she got over him after breaking her heart six months ago but when she comes home after getting some devastating news and finds him in their (well now her) house feelings she thought she was over come surging back. This is the perfect paranormal romance and I loved every minute of reading it. The way the author wrote this book so you can't help but feel the emotions and lose yourself inside the pages is everything I love about romance and the lore and mystery of it is why I love paranormal romance so much. If you're looking for a book that will shatter you and piece you back together, a book that gives you hope and anticipation, and a book that leaves you on edge throughout the entirety until the end, then this is definitely one I recommended! I mean, ghosts, vampires, grim reapers, and more... Yes, please!

This Ghostly romance completely charmed me. The FMC discovers she's a navigator. She can see ghost and helps souls move on, only for her first ghost to be her ex-fiance. Not only that he somehow is not completely dead.
As she searches for his missing body to help him move on, the story unfolds into a beautiflully unique second chance romance. The emotional depth is balanced perfectly with lighthearted, humorous moments, making it easy to love these characters. Their chemistry felt natural, never force and their journey together was both touching and fun.
I especially loved how the ghostly element added just the right amount of mystery without overshadowing the romance. And the supporting cast was other highlight. The chaotic cousin, an iconic aunt and the female empowerment add layers to the story.
Overall, this was such an enjoyable paranormal romance with lovable charaters, emotional healing and satisfying happy ending.

Heart and Souls is the first book I have read by Amy J. Elliot. This book was worth more than the 5 stars I am giving. I absolutely loved the storyline; it was original and not at all what I was expecting. This book is a paranormal romance filled with mystery, action, suspense, betrayal (not the kind you think), angst, and spice. This book pulled me into the story, and I couldn’t put it down until I reached the end, needing to know what would happen to all the characters and wanting to know more about their backstories. I enjoyed the side characters and want to know more about their stories. Ruby and Ollie’s book had me laughing, crying, and wanting to throw my Kindle a few times. I loved the wild ride that their story took me on throughout this book. I loved their undeniable chemistry; it was intense and burned the pages. This book was a fun adventure of crazy realizations, secrets revealed about both main characters, and an undying love that has no limits. Zombies, vampires, and ghosts, oh my!!!! A really lovely, funny, and heartstring tugging read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Oh. My. Ghostly goodness. First off, not only was it a slow burn, it was a slow happy ever after too. I was like 98% in thinking THIS BETTER BE A DUET OR I FIGHTING THE "FRIEND" WHO REC'D THIS. But! There is a happy ever after—its hard fought and sooooo freaking worth it. Ollie and Ruby were incredible and I just freaking adored them.
The world building, foreshadowing and little twists in this book were E V E R Y T H I N G. Just everything. I don't want to spoil anything, I feel like going in blind was the best and so much fun, so it's hard to talk a lot about the inner plot... But it's an absolute blast while also being a little bit of a tearjerker too. I'm not a crier, but this one almost got me. So. Good.
And the audio *sighs* Vanessa Edwin is such a favorite and I just don't get to listen to her enough. She did such an incredible job with these characters and I love love loved this listen. Thank you so much to Must Love Audio and The Author Agency for the advanced copies!

5/5!!!...This book completely stole my heart. I went in expecting a fun paranormal romance, but I got so much more—a beautiful second-chance love story, heartfelt family dynamics, mystery, humor, and an emotional journey that absolutely wrecked me in the best way. Ruby and Ollie's relationship was full of love, regret, and hope, and watching them find their way back to each other while facing impossible circumstances was unforgettable. The ghostly twist was so unique, and I loved how it blended romance, supernatural elements, and just the right amount of suspense. The ending completely broke me. I was sobbing the whole end of the book and couldn't stop the tears. It was heartbreaking, beautiful, and ultimately so worth every emotion.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
