Volcanoes of the National Parks of Hawaii
Isolated in the vast Pacific Ocean, the Hawaiian Islands are the high points of a great volcanic range built up from the sea floor by thousands upon thousands of volcanic eruptions. Each year millions of people visit Haleakala and Hawai'i Volcanoes National Parks to see landscapes shaped by molten lava. Haleakala Crater, with its otherworldly vistas of red cinder cones and dark lava flows, boasts some of the world's most colorful volcanic scenery. An eruption of Kilauea or Mauna Loa, with towering lava fountains or rivers of flowing lava, evokes wonder in every visitor. This book provides a brief explanation of volcanic activity in Hawai'i and the resulting landforms, in the belief that a better understanding of what one sees will enhance the pleasure of seeing it.

It had some good information but nothing current so it’s outdated.

It was nice knowing more about the volcanoes that we visited in Hawaii. The pictures in the book are really good. There is detailed information about all the volcanoes which are part of the National parks. Information about when and how the volcanoes have erupted in the past made it an interesting read. There is also discussion about how these volcanoes are different from the cascade range or any other volcanoes which are on the edges of tectonic plates. Hawaii volcanoes are very different from other volcanoes in this world. I had no idea Mauna Loa was that gigantic until I read this book. Great book if you want to learn more about Hawaii volcanoes and their eruptions.
