Nabi dedicated his life to learning the security trade from one of the best, Ahmed Mueez. After seventeen years, Nabi has established an amazing career as an elite soldier and investigator in the small town of Keeneston, Kentucky. However, his pursuit of the perfect career left him with little time to find love. He longs to start a family as he watches his mentor's children, Abigail and Kale, come into their own. When Nabi wakes for yet another birthday alone, he decides it’s time to do something about it.
Kindergarten teacher Grace Duvall thought she'd never get a second chance at love. Just as she was ready to give up, fate stepped in. Fate, or Abigail Mueez as she's known around Keeneston, has something else in mind for this sweet teacher. With a little help from Abby and her friends, a pitcher of spiked sweet tea, and some breaking and entering, will Nabi and Grace discover they are perfect for each other and get their own happily ever after?

Back in Bluegrass but we have jumped a few years to where all the babies are enablers or in college. That doesn’t stop them from pranks and working on skills taught by their parents and who better to try them on than Uncle Nabi! Loved seeing him as a more relaxed version who has come into his own. Seeing the children love him and them work to get his wish was adorable, funny and sweet…especially with the Roses taking part. Grace is Jewish to the series and a hoot with the special tea and her spunk when she gets riled up. The women took the cake in this story but the men made valiant efforts in helping Nabi on his date. This was a great short story and I enjoyed seeing how everyone was doing, especially the Roses!
I really love Kathleen Brooks and I can say I do love Nabi too. It's just that there were things I was expecting from this book to happen that didn't come. Aside from that, there was no conflict to the love story between Nabi and Grace's love story. The fact that it was a whirlwind romance, the lack of conflict before they reach their HEA is a big factor for me to at least feel that they are truly meant for each other.
Despite of that though, I enjoyed reading the story. More so, it's fun to see the next batch of trouble makers of Keeneston making their way. And I love seeing Ahmed again. He's still hot and lovable after aging some time from his own story. I'm really looking forward to reading about them more and hopefully, I'll be able to read about Nabi and Grace there too adding something to their story that would make me believe that they truly achieved a happy ever after.
The Perfect Gift is the third book in the Bluegrass Singles series (Bluegrass Book #13) by Kathleen Brooks. ‘Bluegrass’ combines romance and suspense, with a touch of Southern charm. A few years ago a friend recommended this author, and her many series, to me - as she had devoured every book and absolutely loved them, singing the author’s praises from high from the hilltops. So, being an avid reader who loves discovering new authors and enticing reads, I took my friends recommendations seriously, and started amassing Ms. Brooks many books, with the plan to have a huge binge session/buddy read with my friend. But with so many books on my TBR, and new, exciting ones releasing every week, I always seemed to get pulled into other books- as these just kept piling up. Since part of my yearly reading challenges for the past few years has been to dust off my TBR pile/s and read the books that have been languishing there the longest, I decided to finally dive in and get the series read. While I did ‘enjoy’ the books for the most part- I didn’t fall madly in love with them as my friend promised that I would. But that’s ok, I am really happy that she loves them as much as she does. But for me, they were just an ‘okay’ read. With plenty of small-town drama, intrigue, angst, chemistry, humour, community, family, friendship, charm, mystery, tension, danger, emotion, and suspense- the stories are about finding love unexpectedly and love conquering all. The books can all be read as standalones if you wanted, without feeling ‘lost’ or like you are missing big pieces of the picture. This is because each instalment introduces its own ‘couple’- providing plenty of romance, a dash of suspense, and some sweet development to make your heart flutter. But I have to be honest, I found there were a few issues which detracted from my overall enjoyment of the stories/series. Such as the ‘wordiness’ which really slowed the flow of the storyline at times, as there was such an overwhelming amount of detail which didn’t really ‘add’ to or propel the story in any way, except to perhaps distract from the plot. I love details, normally- but not when there are pages of descriptions, as things tend to ‘bog’ down and the flow/pace/plot gets lost amongst the detritus- and also leads to some ‘wandering’ storylines. There were also many loose ends, for me- threads that were left hanging, or not fully woven into the storyline- which I found a bit frustrating. I really wanted to love this series as much as my friend did…. but instead, I was left a little disappointed. Happy reading! 📚💙
LOVED this book! Loved that the couple got together... It was so satisfying that they found their forever loves, they both deserved to be happy with a special person!!!!! The story is so cute and endearing with all the kids participating in matchmaking!!!! I loved every single page of this book! It was sexy, romantic, funny and filled with many "Ah" moments!!! I absolutely love that Kathleen keeps all of the wonderful couples and characters from the earlier Bluegrass series integrated into her later books in the series!!! I love, love, love, knowing what's happening with them and their children and, of course, the Rose sisters. They all have become like my family too! I am now starting the "Forever Series" and am looking forward so much to the enjoyment I know is coming without a doubt because all of Kathleen's books so far have been a delight to read!!!! Read one of them and you will be so glad you did!!!!
The Perfect Gift is a heartwarming romance with a touch of action and suspense. Nabi, an elite soldier turned investigator, is devoted to his career, but watching the people around him find love has left him longing for something more. Enter Grace, a kindergarten teacher with a kind heart and a past that has made her hesitant to open up again. Their connection is sweet and slow-burning, with a little matchmaking magic (and some lighthearted mischief) thrown in. The romance is charming, and the contrast between Nabi’s disciplined, serious nature and Grace’s warmth makes their dynamic engaging. While the plot is more lighthearted compared to others in the series, there are still moments of tension and excitement. The writing is smooth, and Brooks creates a cozy yet vibrant setting that makes Keeneston feel like home. It’s a feel-good read that delivers exactly what the title promises—love as the perfect gift.
For a novella, this book was filled with a great story line, a few twists, and a great follow up to prior books. It doesn't have the action that the full books of the Bluegrass series does. However, it does have some great scenes, awesome lines, and is well enough written that I couldn't put it down until it was over....and it left me wanting more. Great read.
What a series of books, have purchased the first one and now I am hooked. Thanks Kathleen for this wonderful story despite it’s a fiction, but enjoyable, heart warming and so thrilling to read, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to read this series, Thank you, I am still reading.
I love how the entire town came together for Nabi. Kathleen really hit the nail on the head how sometimes people think they may never find their true love, only for it to happen when they never expected it. Cassidy was adorable and I loved how the kids came together to help Nabi; only for the moms to jump in and help. They did what the Rose Sisters didn't and it was amazing. I could read this over and over. I love Nabi's connections with the kids in town.
Nabi was head of security for Mo, Prince of Rahmi. He was Uncle Nabi to all the children of the Prince and their friends. On his 36th birthday he wishes to find his love and the kids set out to give him his wish. Great series and performance. Recommend.
This book book is a nice, fun read. Good way to fill a few hours. I enjoyed this book as a follow up to the other Bluegrass books. It was fun to see what all the characters kids were up to.
With the help of the Davies, Ashton, Rahman, and Muneez children Nabi meets the woman of his dreams. Grace is a kindergarten teacher in Keenston. She lost her husband a few years back and is ready to fall in love again. Then Nabi comes into her life.

Overall Amanda Rating: A These short stories are very sweet and cut straight to the point. This cute little story about Nabi and Grace didn't disappoint. The plot was really good, the characters as well. Overall this tiny book was a really good read. On to the next one.
Aww this was such a charming story, happy to read about Nabi and Grace. Plus seeing all the kids getting older and up to so much mischief. Loved this story.
First I want to thank Kathleen for the flow chart. I cannot believe there are so many kids between them. You have aged them well and I love where I think some of the story is going for the kids book. This was a cute Novella. It was so funny to see the kids plotting against or I guess I should say for the union of Nabi and Grace. It is really funny how the big bad head of security was duped by a bunch of kids and didn't even suspect a thing! It was refreshing and heartwarming how the entire town came together for their "family" although not blood still family. When the men got together to try and coach Nabi on his first date and you learn how they have been spying on their kids it was funny as hell. Then the women got together after they mind you not the security guys caught the kids and made sure Grace got the gown and went to the ball. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. A another job well done Ms. Brooks!
Another wonderful story from Kathleen Brooks, This story was so cute the way the next generation of Keeneston, KY, banded together to find their "Uncle Nabi" the love of his life.. They went to The Rose sisters for help and together they find the perfect woman for Nabi in the teacher and young widow Grace Duvall.. With the skill of CIA and FBI, police and Private security techniques taught to them by their law enforcement parents, and the sweet special tea of the Rose sisters, the young people of this town bring together these two people who are looking for love and happy every after and are made for each other.
I really enjoyed Nabi and Grace's story. It was nice how the kids got "Uncle" Nabi his birthday wish. Grace and Nabi had both been waiting to find love and someone to spend the rest of their life with. Although Grace had been widowed, her husband never seemed to have put her first. Nabi was reluctant to begin a relationship with her until he was able to ascertain if she was still stuck on her dead husband. Grace was glad to finally find a man who had the same interests she did and wasn't going to leave her at the drop of a hat to go off and do something without her. It was well done and I can't wait to see what happens with the next generation.
Been waiting for Nabi story, the longest running bet at Blossom Cafe.
His meddler came in the form of his 15 yr. old hacker pupil. Abby put together a perfect gift with the insight of Cassidy and the crew over some Rose sister sweet tea. YES, Nabi and Grace didn't know what hit them. It was more than the "special" tea heavy on the bourbon that was delivered. I can't wait to see who will be next but it looks like the fairy godmothers are in store for their HEA.
HMMM... we never know in Keeneston. Anything is possible
The small town of Keeneston expands again. Nabi and Grace find love at the hands of the. Children of the families that we read about in the bluegrass series and the infamous Rose sisters. The small town charm welcomes you to read about the growing Keeneston community and touches base with the characters that the readers have come to love. As these novellas show up, the story grows and hopefully there are more stories of this small town with a big heart and a penchant to enjoy gossip. Kudos Ms. Brooks on another feel good story!
