SOME PEOPLE WILL DO ANYTHING TO SURVIVE
AND OTHERS WILL STOP AT NOTHING TO SAVE THEM

Beautiful, young Lacey Hope Carrington is a good girl, but the daughter of a money hungry mother, a woman who stops at nothing to profit from her child. When Lacey becomes more of a burden than a paycheck, she sells the innocent girl off to the highest bidder.

Trapped by a tyrant with no way out, six years later Lacey's life has become pure hell. A chance meeting in a jail cell opens Lacey up to something she never had before. A way out.

It comes in the form of a group of gritty, leather-clad, sexy outlaw bikers, the Gods of Chaos MC, and one very tough guardian angel named Grace. Together they form Solid Ground, an underground railroad that will do anything to save those that can't save themselves.

Lacey's past is hot on her trail when she falls for the sexy, bearded, tattooed biker God, Riot. With his own troubling past, Riot has a body that awakens Lacey to all that she's missed. The sparks fly high and the passion they unleash threatens to burn their whole mission to the ground before it's even begun.

Good second in series but a shorter book than I expected.

Lacey has never had a normal life, she's no friends, she's never had a boyfriend or even held hands, almost from birth her mother shoved and pushed her into commercials then pageants until Lacey got older and refused to enter anymore, once the money dried up her mother then sold her to Monty Patterson, Lacey was just sixteen when Monty raped her and then started to rent her out.
Circumstances give Lacey an opportunity to escape and she grabs it with both hands putting her trust in Grace, the Gods of Chaos and Riot the big handsome biker.
While I enjoyed this book I have to say the print size on my kindle drove me nuts, I always read on the smallest size but even on the smallest size the type was huge and I do mean huge. I read fairly quickly and all I seemed to do was flick to the next page, it annoyed me so much that I counted the words on a page then found a similar page from 'Remember Me' yes, I'm aware just how sad that sounds but it annoyed me that much, the difference was over 100 words, that's 100 words less per page....why?
I can only assume it's to make the book seem longer, according to Amazon it's 232 pages long it also ends at 87% so the book itself at normal size is probably about 100 pages.
We're not idiots we're going to realise as soon as we start reading that its a much shorter book than we were expecting.
Ok, sorry about the rant but I needed to get it off my chest.

After reading the second book, I understand now that this series serves a purpose, after book one, I was miffed it was so short. But if you want a taste of an MC Club, a bit of grit and raw action, insta attraction and love then this series is perfect. And I have to say these MC dudes are rough around the edges but are the sweetest leading guys, so the stories are raw but gooey sweet at the same time. I am enjoying them!

I am at a complete loss for words with this book. Lacey's story will break your heart. It was raw, intense, dark, twisted, steamy and so good. Diving into the next book now.

What poor Lacey went through in her young life was tragic. Thank goodness for Solid Ground and also Riot. They put a broken life back together.

Let me start by saying, when I started this book I had NOT read the blurb. So I had no idea what was going on at anytime, and it was an amazing way to read this book. There were so many twists and turns, that I never knew where I was going and I loved it!
We met Riot and his crazy a$$ in Remember Me and he piqued my interest with his need to fight. Learning more about him in SG I was shocked at his background but it explained so much and it made him the perfect man for our sweet natured Lacey.
Lacey.... Oh poor sweet Lacey... I wanted to wrap her in bubble wrap and never let her go. She suffered through unspeakable horrors all her life before she finally escapes. Unfortunately that’s not the end for her either. She was one of the sweetest women that Honey has written and I loved her. Having said that, I will NEVER look at eggs, or stilettos the same again.
“He bought a dozen eggs. And a bottle of wine.” (you’ll see) ~Lacey
When Riot and Lacey meet the chemistry is instantanious and combustible! Being able to experience all are firsts willing with Riot was an amazing experience, he’s so protective of her and that followed into the bedroom in an amazing way.
“You’re safe with me,”I said, feeling that familiar wave of protectiveness wash over me. ~Riot
I loved seeing Oliver the owl from book 1 and knowing he has his mate, Olivia, was super sweet :)
We also got a glimpse into how Ryder and Grace were doing too, and I loved that!
Honey and I spoke quite a bit after I finished this book and I got a better idea of her writing style, I’ve seen reviews complain about her lack of Club business and in depth things. Well that’s one thing that makes Honey so special in her writing. She doesn’t complicate her love stories (because that’s what it’s about to her, the H/h love) with confusing club business or b*tchy club whores. There’s suspense and love and it makes it perfect for her. I love that her books are drama free, that there’s the right amount of suspense and it’s not necessarily insta-love but insta-lust that isn’t fought against.
Honey hit this one out of the ball park! I thought Remember Me was my new fav but I think Solid Ground might be right beside it!! I give this book 5 amazing stars!!!
Now here’s my one liner from the book that sorta melted me ;)
“All the hell, the pain, the heartache, all the days of being lost in a sea of misery, it all led us here. To this moment, to this day, to this forest. It all led to this solid ground beneath our feet. No more sea of misery, babe.” ~Riot

Um, I'm not sure what to think. Liked the characters, they were nice and I needed more of them and their growth as a couple. The love scenes were decidedly less hot and descriptive. More sweet and flowery euphemisms and fade to later. That was kind of odd.

The violence was gruesome, not once but twice and it's ridiculously unbelievable that there would be no repercussions from the cops, just wrapped up in a bow.

It's free and I like the characters so I don't want to be totally debbie-downer. Just wanted more. Gonna give the next one a try.

I really liked this book. I still found the club to be gritty but the overall vibe was a mission to save abused women be recused and helped with a new life. The book was not explicit but it had warm scenes aplenty. Good job!

This could have been a great story but it was to clipped we did get to learn a little about the main characters but we didn't get to see them as a couple enough And again they do not use condoms she was a prostitute, yes against her will but it still happened. he sleeps with anything and they use no protection. That takes away from the story. Roit was so sweet and caring though when we did see him with her. But for free on KU it's an ok read. Though I prefer full length stories not clipped versions. Sometimes the words were off and would have to figure out what was meant but it's still worth a read.

Another great story in the series. This is Lacey and Riots book. In the beginning Lacey faces a difficult choice from what her situation was. Through Grace and Solid Ground she finds her way to the Gods of Chaos. This then leads to her meeting Grace along with everyone at the MC club, especially Riot. Lacey and Riot have a pretty obvious connection from the start. You'll get some twists and turns along with a surprise or two. Even though tough choices and decisions had to be made everything worked out how it needed to be. Its a definite must read.

Great story and easy read. Heroes that are OTT alphas that are super rough around the edges, but sweet at heart. Insta-lust/insta-love with about as much of a story as you can get in such a short number of pages. The book is exactly what you'd expect... only better. While these books can be read as standalones, they are definitely better read in order. There is an overarching story throughout the storyline and you really need the first story to set everything up for you. I haven't been disappointed in one of the books yet.

Okay story.

Easy to follow and some major entertaining twists.

I liked Lacey she really comes full circle in her story after battling from childhood to adulthood.

Riot is strong and sweet.

I really didnt feel this story as much as the first in the series it felt so incomplete, less character development and overall involvement with other characters.

All up this story is okay and I will still continue on with the next in the series.

Great book

Another fantastic book by the author, this series draws you in and each book keeps your interest right from the beginning thru to the end. Fantastic storyline with thoroughly enjoyable characters, a motorcycle club, not Alpha males, strong resilient damaged young woman, a sex trafficking ring, government official at the heart of the operation, a disgusting mother with evil intentions, add in murder, a few twists and turns and romance and you have one fantastic read.

Holy moly!! This book blew me away! My heart broke for all that Lacey had experienced in her short life....and then she gets handed a lifeline from an unexpected source.
Riot can't explain how protective he feels over Lacey when they bring her to the clubhouse and she feels safe with him. He makes her feel strong, it was just beautiful. But it seems as though someone isn't finished with her yet. My heart was in my mouth!
Loved this!!

Great read.

Lacey and Riot have an awesome story. Lacey never knew love thanks to her mother. Riot loves his club and will do anything for them. Lacey sets off a spark in Riot. They are perfect for one another. Through all the drama and heartbreak, These two will stand together. Excellent writing.

My heart aches for Lacey...her mother sold her to Monty who pumps her out. What mother would do that? She gets her chance to escape and she and Riot find each other. If events didn't happen as the did they would have never found each other. Lacey has been dealt a bad hand but she is a warrior and a survivor through and through and Riot is there to help her.

An emotional read.

Solid Ground by Honey Palomino is a riveting story of a woman lost in a sea of abuse, of being used an lied to, but soon her salvation will come in the nick of time by a group of Bikers who tow a thin line between the right side of the law an the dark areas of life that people turn away from. A haunted past is soon brought to Light.

Riot & Lacey

I enjoyed this book but there were a few things that bothered me about it. The heroine did some things that put herself in danger needlessly, even though she knew people were after her, I get that it adds extra drama, but it made her look stupid.

Loving this series... Both the characters and the plot make for an exciting read. In this novel, its about Lacy & Riot who is just a large teddy bear! Would of loved more danger though, guns and fists flying all for love of a good woman!

Nice and sweet..ish

I say sweet..ish despite the blood because both characters might of had a aweful childhood or something equally traumatic but they were both still do sweet.. Was a good story that packed everything in and didn't make it cramped but leveled it out perfect...
