In a war between a cartel and a motorcycle club, their love is the only road left to take.
Ashes Crowe has spent his life being honed into a weapon for a legacy he doesn’t believe in. As the son of the ruthless leader of The Fallen motorcycle club's Texas chapter, disobedience isn’t just a betrayal, it’s a death sentence. Nothing has ever been worth the consequences of breaking free.
Until her.
Inés Castillo was supposed to be a bride, but now she’s the Ventura cartel’s most valuable prisoner. She’s learned to outplay powerful men her entire life, and when a dangerous biker becomes her one chance at freedom, she doesn’t hesitate to take it.
Ashes should walk away. Instead, he breaks her out.
One choice is all it takes to ignite a war.
What starts as a rescue turns into a desperate escape across the desert, with a cartel at their heels and The Fallen hunting Ashes down for treason. With every mile, the line between duty and desire blurs, and the woman he freed becomes the only thing worth sacrificing it all to have.
If they want a future, they’ll have to survive and decide if the road to love is worth the sacrifice and ruin it brings.

it would be an understatement to say i LOVED this book. it truly exceeded every single one of my expectations!!!! 😭🙌🏻 Road To Ruin is filled with ALL the tension, action and the softest, most delicious connection two characters could have. Inés and Ashes were EVERYTHING!!! 🧡 i truly don't know how after so many years, Giana can still amaze me this way. absolutely fucking INCREDIBLE. 10/10, no notes!!!!
now, if there's one thing Giana is gonna write, it's a BADASS heroine. Inés, mi guerrera, my warrior. this woman crawled on the pits of hell and still remained such a strong woman. she's hands down, the most badass FMC Giana has written!! when you get to know her backstory? OHMY!! 👀🙌🏻
and of course, her swoony heroes!!! Ashes, the perfect match for our girl Inés. this man was ruthless but so kind, so sweet and SO filthy HOLY— 🥵!!!! honestly, who doesn't love a man beyond DOWN BAD for his woman, willing to move heaven, hell and earth to make her feel safe and happy? that's who Ashes is and he had me in love with him from the start🥹
this one is a slow burn but i did not feel it and that says A LOT!!! the chemistry is so strong and the slow burn was SO necessary!! but when it started burning, you guys?! TOO HOT TO HANDLE!!!! these two were so filthy!!!! 🥵 grab your tissues because you'll be wet all over and yes, that includes tears cause fuckkk Giana will break your heart😭 she made me cry HOW DARE SHE?!!!!
the family in this book, the brothers, the sister, from the VERY beginning i was HEAD OVER HEELS freaking IN LOVE with them!!! every single one of them stole a piece of my heart😭♥️ give me their books, Giana!!!! I WANNA FIX THEM🗣️🤣
still can't believe my favorite series of ALL time(The Fallen Men) got a spin-off and it was as phenomenal and amazing as i thought it would be🥹♥️ this world is freaking incredible and i'm SO EXCITED for everything that's to come!!! ✨
When it comes to MC romance, Giana Darling holds an absolute edge. She writes outlaws and fierce, resilient women like no one else, and Road to Ruin is no exception. She has a proven map to ruin my heart, weaving heartbreaking emotion, destructive anxiety, jaw-dropping twists, and breathtaking turns into phenomenal writing. . Tropes * He Falls First * MC Romance * Dark Romance * Sassy & Resilient Heroine * Alpha Morally Gray Hero * Romantic Suspense * Found Family * Trigger Warnings: Abuse, Mental Health Issues, Trauma . Ashes has always been different, even with a father who is quite literally the worst person on Earth—the president of the Texas chapter of the Fallen Men MC. Taunted for being "too pretty" and "too soft," Ashes never stopped being the kind of man he wanted to be. Don't mistake that for weakness; he has plenty of danger, explosiveness, and violence running in his veins. But somewhere inside, a crooked moral compass guides his life, leading him to stand up against most of the bikers in his own club. That defiance drives him to put his life on the line to rescue Ines from a rival cartel in Mexico—the Ventura Cartel—after finding her bound on their porch like a dog. . The cartel isn't going to let that go easily, forcing Ashes to risk it all. Is a woman worth it? In short: yes. Ines becomes his redemption. Despite his father’s relentless attempts to beat the rebellion out of him, Ashes knows the time has come to take a stand. . Ines is unlike anyone he has ever met. She is breathtaking, and I was completely in awe of her strength until the very end. For much of the story, her complete backstory and how she ended up with the Ventura Cartel are kept in the dark, yet her bravery and inner fire shine brilliantly through all the misery, trauma, and pain. I cannot blame Ashes for falling for her so hard. Ines isn't a sweet, innocent heroine; she carries her own darkness and baggage, but everyone deserves a second chance. Ashes gives her the space to dream, offering hope and a place where she can envision a happy, wholesome future. . However, they live in a world where violence rules, blood talks, and survival demands extreme danger. The story is blisteringly fast-paced—blink and you'll miss a major plot turn. The balance between intense romance and high-stakes action is executed brilliantly. I also completely fell in love with the found family dynamic among the brothers. Giana Darling successfully tore my heart out, filling the pages with complex, unforgettable characters that will haunt me long after the final chapter. . Ashes' absolute devotion to Ines shifted something in my chest. He knew in his bones that she was the woman meant for him, even though convincing Ines took an incredible amount of work. Having survived deep betrayal and brutal violence, she guarded her heart fiercely. Yet, Ashes rekindled the part of her that recognized a safe harbor in him, and together, they ultimately faced the devil side by side. It required immense sacrifice, and my heart felt entirely out of my control most of the time, but the emotional payoff was phenomenal. I sat in silence for a long time after finishing, just trying to absorb the heavy, beautiful impact of Road to Ruin. . (I reviewed an early copy voluntarily.)
Giana introduced me to MC romance and her mark on me has never wavered, it comes as no surprise that this new chapter is a big Hell! For me! I know my fellow readers have been begging for the next book in The Fallen MC series but please, hear me out and do yourself a favour, indulge into this spin off, trust me you will thank me later.
The combination of Texan background, cowboy hues and all the sexy MC life is a hedonistic mix bound to leave a permanent imprint. A solid plot with plenty of twists and turns, unexpected events, angsty moments, life changing decisions, pain and tears are beautifully executed providing an unforgettable experience and just as predictably I fell head over heels for this new chapter of the Gianaverse.
Ashes and Ines lead us into this new journey, we are introduced to other key players, and we rejoice in all the easter eggs and mentions of old, beloved characters. Ash embodies all the features we so are so fond of when it comes to the way this author portrays her bikers, I was a goner for his nurturing persona, his loyalty and unwavering protector, his affection for his family and his fierce love for Ines, and it would be a travesty not to mention his sinfully hot aura and sensual side.
I know I can count on Giana to deliver the ultimate brave and kind heroine, Ines is a formidable warrior, her dark side was blissfully woven into her persona, her essence was a calling I couldn’t resist, I was a prisoner of her character, this bright ember who never stopped fighting, she was born into a life of suffering, but she never let the ugly of her past taint her pure heart. Her surprise in discovering the meaning of family, protection and loyalty, the way she never hesitates to get into harm way to save those dear to her. Her coming to terms to how achievable her new life next to Ashes could be was a wonderful experience.
We know from the very beginning we won’t get an easy ride, and I applaud the author for delivering on every account an emotionally charged journey without shying away from the less pretty parts. Giana has the unmatched talent of delivering a love story among the harshest and impossible conditions, her characters are raw and unapologetically flawed and yet so impossibly perfect.
I was lucky to receive an early copy of Road to Ruin, and I can’t wait for everyone to be ruined by the sheer excellence of this story.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ Giana Darling, you did it again! I loved getting to know Ashes and Inés, and this book had me feeling so many things. The MC drama, the cartel, and the romance made this such a good read. I was invested in all of it!
Ashes really got to me. He's been raised in a world where being soft is seen as a weakness, but there's so much more to him than people realize. Seeing that side of him with Inés made me love him even more. And Inés? I have so much love for this girl. She's been through some very rough times, but she never loses that fight in her. I loved watching her slowly let Ashes in. Their chemistry was so good, and I wanted these two to get their happy ending so badly!
Also, the brothers! I'm already attached, and I need more books about them. I'm not ready to leave this family behind just yet. Giana really knows how to make me care about her characters, and I'm so excited to see what's coming next in this series.
Thank you so much Giana Darling and NetGalleyfor the eARC! I'm so happy I got to read this one early.
Giana has been a favorite author of mine since I read Lessons in Corruption years ago! Sooo it is no surprise that I devoured this one 🤭😜 I had to actively force myself to slow down and enjoy it because it is so easy to want to speed through and get caught up in finding out what happens!!
Im a sucker for a motorcycle club romance with allllll the danger, thrill and stakes = Bonus points that this is a spin off from her Fallen MC series. Any mention of them had me like 😍😍😍😍 LOVE the dynamic between the MMC and FMC. I will give absolutely zero spoilers other than to tell you that, you will not want to put it down AND you will immediately want to read all of Giana’s backlist afterwards.
I don’t make the rules. I just know how it is! Trust me when I say, you’re about to meet your newest addiction 😘
Giana Darling, proving once again why she is THAT WOMAN. No one does an MC romance like her and Road to Ruin is going to fill that space you were missing with the original Fallen Men series.
MC, cartel, dark western forbidden romance and some badass characters, this one has it all! Ines and Ashes' story is not for the weak, they go through it all, it is intense, passionate and filled with so many trials and tribulations that really up the stakes for these two.
Be so ready to become immersed in this book and the suspense is going to keep you hooked. Such a good introduction to the Texas Fallen chapter and I cant wait for more!
So grateful to have been able to receive and arc of this book! Thank you so much Giana and team 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐉𝐀𝐍𝐔𝐀𝐑𝐘 𝟐𝟔𝐓𝐇
Giana Darling is a go-to author for me, so I was thrilled to receive this ARC. She writes men who will lay down their lives for their women, and women who will take no nonsense. A great balance of spice and suspense. I also love badass side characters when you start thinking "I hope they get their own book."
Tropes: Dark Western Motorcycle Romance, "Romeo & Juliet meets Sons of Anarchy, Yellowstone, and Narcos" (with a happy ending), Forced Proximity, Slow 🔥, Forbidden Love, Outlaw Cowboys, Hidden Identity, Touch Him & ☠️
Quotes: "If they want a future, they'll have to survive and decide if the road to love is worth the sacrifice and ruin it brings."
Review No Spoilers: 🔥 Dark, Dangerous, and Addictive! 🔥
This book is the perfect combination of dark western romance, motorcycle club grit, cartel danger, and forbidden love. Think Romeo & Juliet meets Sons of Anarchy and Narcos with plenty of action, tension, and morally gray characters along the way.
Ashes Crowe has spent his entire life being molded into a weapon for The Fallen motorcycle club, destined to carry on a legacy he never wanted. He knows exactly what happens when you defy the club and it certainly isn’t forgiveness.
Then there’s Inés Castillo, a woman who was supposed to become a bride but instead finds herself imprisoned by the Ventura cartel. Smart, resilient, and accustomed to navigating dangerous men, Inés knows that Ashes may be her only chance at freedom.
When Ashes chooses to rescue her instead of walking away, he sets off a chain reaction that throws them straight into a war. Now they’re running across the Texas desert with both the cartel and Ashes’s own club hunting them down.
I loved the forbidden, ride or die energy between Ashes and Inés. Their relationship is built against a backdrop of danger, betrayal, violence, and impossible choices, making every moment feel like the stakes are getting higher.
The combination of MC culture, cartel politics, Western atmosphere, action, and romance made this such an intense read. Ashes and Inés are two people who absolutely should not be together but somehow, they might be exactly what the other needs.
If you enjoy dark romance, motorcycle clubs, cartel romance, forbidden love, morally gray characters, forced proximity, action, and high-stakes escapes, this is definitely one to add to your TBR. 🖤🏍️🔥
Still can't believe I got to return to my favorite world with a brand-new spin-off that has the perfect balance of romance, emotion, and action. The Fallen Men will always feel like home to me, just like Giana's writing. The way she manages to pull me in, hook, line, and sinker, from the very first word and keep me completely captivated until the very end is unmatched. Her books are a constant reminder of why I fell in love with reading in the first place.
When I tell you Giana made me go through every emotion in the dictionary, I'm not even joking. I was on the edge of my seat from the prologue, crying by chapter two, then alternating between giggling and kicking my feet, nearly having a heart attack from anxiety, feeling murderous enough to start thinking about the techniques my man Priest taught me for doing some damage, getting hot and bothered, being absolutely destroyed, and then somehow finding myself feeling nothing but pure contentment. I swear, this woman put me through EVERYTHING, and I wouldn't have it any other way. The emotional whiplash was real, but that's exactly what makes reading her books such a special experience.
Road to Ruin had it all. The most captivating writing. A plot that sucks you in from page one and refuses to let you go until the very last word. A strong, badass heroine who went through so much but never once lost her spark. A protective hero who would do absolutely anything for his woman. A slow burn that led to the most delicious spice. A love story that completely consumed my heart and soul. A rollercoaster of emotions that left me sobbing more than once. A group of siblings that already mean everything to me. And, above all, the most perfect beginning to this new side of the Fallen Men world.
If this first book is any indication of what's to come in the Texas chapter, then we're in for one hell of a ride, and I am so ready to lose my mind over every second of it!
✿ Huge thanks to Giana and the team for the ARC. ✿ Release Date: Jan 26, 2027.
💀MMC romance 💀golden retriever/black cat 💀cartel/MMC war
Ashes father is the president of his MMC and is a ruthless monster. Showing weakness in front his father will get Ashes and his brother’s killed. His father trained him to be a weapon in a war he wants no part of.
Ines was promised in marriage to an abusive man and after she fights back she’s taken hostage by the cartel.
Ashes finds her chained to a porch and knows he has to rescue. The rescue turns into them fleeing for their lives. Ashes knows that rescuing Ines will mean treason to his father. He knows he has to take his father down in order to keep Ines safe.
This book is dark and contains heavy topics so make sure you check your trigger warnings.
There wasn’t anything Ashes and his brothers wouldn’t do for each other. I loved how feisty Ines was and how she built up so many walls she was afraid to break down.
The book had an interesting plot that was more layered than most MMC books. The book felt very immersive and the suspense kept me on the edge of my seat! I’m excited to read more in the series
"Broken can be beautiful, Ash. You taught me that" What an incredible ride this book was. This is a spin off of the Fallen Men Series and what an amazing start to this series. (If you have not read the Fallen Men RUN and start now) There is mention of the original chapter and a few of the wonderful characters from that series, but trust me you are going to fall in love with the Crowe men and their women. I wanted to devour this book, but at the same time take is slow and savor it like a fine wine. It was filled with action from the start and the foot never came off the peddle till the end. Ember and Ashes are both wonderful characters who have suffered so much at the hands of those who should have loved and protected them. And this book among other things is about them opening themselves up to the love and goodness neither things they deserve. Thank you to the publisher for the super early ARC of this book.
I got the opportunity to arc read this one early and when I tell yall.. the squeal I let out when I saw that email come through! I was so stoked for this one and immediately jumped in and was hooked from the very beginning.
At this point I shouldn’t be surprised when I end up loving a Giana book, because she ALWAYS hits for me and this book was no exception. We got lots of tension, a badass heroine, a good amount of action and an MMC who is soft only for his female. I think if you love King you’re going to absolutely love Ashes.
I loved the dynamic between Inés and Ashes and how well they complemented each other. They’re both strong as hell in their own ways but also both a little soft for each other and that is what I love. Inés might be my favorite FMC in the Fallen universe and when you get her backstory you’ll see why!👀

Thank you Giana and Team for the early arc copy of Road To Ruin!🥹🫶🏻
ROAD TO RUIN by Giana Darling Fallen Texas Series - Book 1 Ashes and Ines's story JUST WOW!!! Giana Darling certainly poured on the drama and steam in this first book in her new Fallen Texas series. Ashes Crowe had been beaten down all his life by his abusive father and MC club leader. He has a soft heart and a fearless soul which makes him the best kind of hero imo. Ines has her own gruesome past that she has to over come but when her eyes meet Ashes, there's this instant connection that can't be denied. Ashes will stop at nothing to save her and keep her safe. I really liked all the side characters! Rough bikers and their women, brothers, sisters and found family make this one incredible journey!! I found myself so immersed in this world, I didn't want it to end!! Looking forward to more from this series!!!
Another knockout from Giana! I am so so excited for this new MC series Giana has created. We get to hear about some of our favorites from the original Fallen Men and also fall in love with almost all of the new ones in the Texas chapter.
Ember && Ashes were everything their name describes, fire. I love how Giana writes her men. They love hard, they know what they want and they do whatever it takes to get it. I love how fiercely Ashes loves and I love how big his heart is. He is the best of the Crowe family. I also love how he always saw Ines/Ember as strong, even when the rest of the world wouldn’t. But Ember is strong and she is the perfect match for Ashes.
Their story was hard fought and I ate the whole thing up. Truly cannot wait for the rest of the series! I am interested in every Crowe brothers story and some of the Fallen brothers stories. Another amazing start to a new series!
“Whatever you are, I must be made of the same stuff. I’ll find you, Inés, no matter what ’cause we’re two halves of the same whole.”
Inés has been groomed since she was young to be a bride and to do what she is told. Instead she’s placed in the middle of the cartel and an mc club. Ashes Crowe is a member of the mc club and when he sets his eyes on Inés it’s game over because a war starts.
This book was packed with tension, action, spice, and a soul connection between two characters that have been drawn together and can’t seem to stay away.
Thank you to Giana and team for sending me an early copy!
When a member of a ruthless motorcycle club saves a member of an infamous Mexican cartel, you get this tense, steamy romance. First time reading a Giana Darling novel and it won't be my last. While there are definitely tough parts to get through in this book, I found myself enjoying it from the first page to the very last page. I especially loved the way that Asher never thought Ines couldn't take care of herself..even when she was beat down and scared, he saw her grit, passion & spirit. Thanks to Harper Collins for the ARC!
I've always been a huge fan of Giana Darling's writing and she most definitely poured her heart and soul into this book. The suspense was suspensing, the drama was dramaing, and there was certainly shocks and OMG moments throughout the entire book!! I found myself SO immersed in this book and I didn't want it to end. I could NOT put it down!! Can't wait for more in this series!
Ashes and Ines were perfect for each other. Ashes was a complete goner for Ines, and Ines has been through it but her love never wavered!!
