(2.5⭐️) Neither character felt particularly likable to me. He was an asshole with a temper and terrible communication. She got on my nerves too (and technically, she was a cheater). That man ghosted you, was rude and nasty, nearly pulled a gun on you, and somehow on the first day back in his presence you’re on your knees? Girl, stand up.
I never really bought the romance between them. To me, it read less like emotional chemistry and more like toxicity mixed with sexual compatibility. For most of the book, their dynamic boiled down to arguing, unresolved tension, and hooking up. There were flashes of vulnerability here and there, but not enough for me to feel invested in them as a couple.
To the book’s credit, they eventually did the work of unpacking their history and saying the things they should’ve said a long time ago. Once they finally addressed the hurt, misunderstandings, and pride that had been fueling so much of their conflict, their connection made a little more sense. I just wish that shift had come earlier, because by the time they reached that point, I was already too disconnected to care the way I wanted to.
Overall, this one had moments that could’ve worked for me, but I needed more emotional depth and far less chaos (no pun intended) to really believe in the love story. If you like messy, high-conflict romances with a lot of heat, this might be more your lane.
I don't know if I i liked chaos or not.The book was great. It definitely was just like a headache type of book, but it was still very much enjoyable. I don't know if I like the relationship between chaos and charisma. They were just a f****** mess like I get it. But then everything stemmed from miscommunication, thank you so much, so had they just talked s*** out everything would have been cool, but both of them had childhood, teenhood, trauma and s***.So obviously that played a factor into how they were both navigating their lives. But chaos was a bit harsh with a lot of things. And it wouldn't sit right with me.How he was letting other b******, just rub a ball on him?Even if he was trying to get a rise out of charisma that ship would not have been cool with me no matter how we feeling. Like they were toxic, as f*** pass, present and s***.Maybe even semi future, but it was a fun wild ride. And there were hella snakes in the grass.
Y’all come get into this book, and do it fast!! This novel is fast paced, exhilarating, spicy, and the MMC is dangerous in a way that turns you completely on. Chaos was every bit of his name! Unhinged doesn’t even scratch the surface of his reign of terror on those he despises and hurt him. As fate would have it he ran into the cause of his biggest betrayal and heartache, Charisma. In an effort to save her from a scandal she later on finds out has nothing to do with her, he kidnaps her. He soon finds out things aren’t what he thought when he left and he jumped the gun and missed out on a lot. The drama was endless and so juicy. As much as they both try and fight their attractions the feelings are still there after his 5 year disappearance. As he tries to protect her they unravel more than the truth and he realizes he’s right where he belongs. Glad that he returned home, he sees its where the heart is even if it’s in the midst of chaos at times. 10/10
To be around these two is to be an unpaid referee. They lack the skills to communicate effectively.
Charisma is a podcaster and ends up in a sticky situation after interviewing a secret guest.
Chaos is her ex who is back in town without her knowing. He is a member of an MC. Him being a member was an issue in the relationship.
He left town after doing and seeing something, but he was not getting clarity on what he saw and blamed her for how things played out.
Charisma wakes up in a situation that she dont remember getting into. As she is trying to get away, she runs into her ex, Chaos. He learns of her secret and is extra mad at her for the past and the present.
These two argue just to get physical, and the problem is still be there after. They had to work together to figure out the plot behind her situation and eventually began to communicate effectively.
"The night that he left, he visited his mother and his twin. I didn’t get a visit, a phone call, a text message, a letter, or even a DM. I am the one who has every right to be angry, not him."
Gosh, were I the FMC we would have had no book. That man locked her up in a room. Forced her to service him because "she messed up his nites activities" just so she could see her son. TF!! All because he was mad at her over a misunderstanding 5 years ago, that stemmed from his own mistakes, and inability to take accountability.
This man was mean, selfish, aggressive, and a bully!
Meanwhile, this heffa in a corner like "you don't have to self pleasure, please let me suck ur D" 😑
Clearly, I'm paraphrasing, but if we're writing complete BS I can take some liberties.
Chaos came out the gate creating noise.. But when he saw Charisma he knew he had to be the one to get her. That chemistry was undeniable. 2 broken souls who loved each other so deeply. Neither could move on with someone else because the heart wanted each other but Couldn't get pass all the past trauma they've been through. CJ bought so much joy for them and eventually they got it together.
Had to DNF this one… I don’t even get their dynamic or the point of this but it definitely wasn’t giving.. I tried to push thru because I wanted to read everyone’s book under the “series” but this one is giving woman beater, abuser, super toxic vibes and granted toxic sometimes works this one just isn’t doing it for me
His MC name fits perfectly, Chaos! He absolutely had to heal from past disappoints from his dad. And Charisma had to deal with past issues from her mom. A toxic relationship that ended with peace and love for the two.
It was a beautiful book. It was a toxic relationship in the beginning. After they got passed, it was beautiful. I am glad that Chaos was able to reveal his feelings for Charisma. It was a little emotional, but I love it. I would recommend it.
