The Shield: Eddie Ankin Book 6

Rate this book
Hollywood's biggest prize just became a murder weapon. And the second body on the floor is a cop.

From a producer of Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and The Walking Dead.

Eddie Ankin makes movie stars look like heroes.

Marine Raider. Career stuntman. What he isn't is a detective — which is a problem, because tonight he's standing over two corpses in the Pacific Palisades home of director Quentin Reznor, and one of them is Sean Riddle.

Riddle was a legend at the LAPD. He was also the man who gave Detective Kim Mallory her shot at homicide.

Within hours Mallory is locked out of her own mentor's case. So she brings it to the one person who can work it from outside the department — and the two of them start pulling on a killing the city would rather leave closed.

Two victims. Two killers. Two motives threading through a city where justice was never meant to be equal.

Eddie has spent his whole career making other men look like heroes.

This time he has to be one.

For fans of Jack Reacher, Elvis Cole, and Nelson DeMille's John Corey.

Book 6 of six in the Eddie Ankin Crime Thrillers. Standalone-friendly, better in order. Start with The Double — 99¢.

Jeremy Elice is a Hollywood producer turned screenwriter and author responsible for producing the hit television shows Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Mad Men, Hell on Wheels, Rubicon, The Killing and the mini-series Tut starring Ben Kingsley.

Known for writing compelling characters and high-octane action scenes, his newest novel, The Double (July 2023), introduces ex-Marine turned Hollywood stuntman, "Eddie Ankin," who joins the ranks of resourceful and kick-ass crime fighters readers love like Jack Reacher, John Corey, and Cliff Booth.

His first novel is the psychological thriller, The Strange Crimes of Beatrice Clover, which has been described as a page-turner with a twist ending you won't see coming.

Whether it's books, TV series, or movies, Jeremy loves a good story. When not spending hours alone in his basement talking out loud to himself in strange voices like a madman (aka writing), he runs his production company, Elice Island Entertainment, looking for the next groundbreaking hit.

Most of all, he loves spending time at home in NY with his wife, three kids, and a terrier named Dexter (yes, after the tv show), reading or watching something that moves him.
