Okay, The Reaction was INCREDIBLE. Maria Denison took everything I loved about The Reflex and somehow cranked up the chaos. Cara, Reed, Nic, Sasha—the whole beautifully dysfunctional crew had me completely invested. The abilities, the secrets, the banter, and the absolute insanity had me STRESSED in the best way. 😂

I loved getting deeper into the characters and their relationships while the story kept throwing curveballs. Suspense, humor, emotion, and plenty of “what the actual hell?!” moments. I flew through this one.

Easy 5 stars. No notes. I just need MORE.

👉Reading The Reaction felt like reconnecting with old friends who had changed in meaningful ways since the first book. Maria Denison doesn't simply continue the story she expands it with greater emotional depth, stronger conflicts, and a growing sense of mystery that kept me fully invested from beginning to end. Every chapter added another layer to both the characters and the supernatural world, making the sequel feel richer and more rewarding than I expected.

👉What impressed me most was the emotional authenticity of the characters. Their relationships continue to evolve through moments of uncertainty, loyalty, and difficult choices, making every conversation feel important. I appreciated that the author allowed the characters to struggle with fear and doubt rather than presenting them as flawless heroes.Those imperfections made their growth feel genuine, and I became even more emotionally connected to their journeys.

👉The suspense is wonderfully crafted throughout the novel. Just when I thought I understood what was happening, the story introduced another twist that completely changed my perspective. The supernatural elements remain intriguing, but they never overshadow the emotional heart of the story. Instead, they work together to create an atmosphere that is both exciting and surprisingly heartfelt. The occasional humor also adds warmth, giving readers a chance to breathe before the next intense moment arrives.Maria Denison's writing flows effortlessly, making the pages turn quickly without sacrificing meaningful character moments. The pacing strikes a satisfying balance between action, mystery, and emotional reflection.

👉I also enjoyed how the author gradually revealed new details about the larger world, answering lingering questions while creating fresh mysteries that made me eager to keep reading. It never felt predictable, and every revelation added something valuable to the overall story.

The Reaction is a continuation of The Reflex and I enjoyed getting to dive a bit deeper into the past and present of these characters and to learn more about their dynamic and how it came to be. Learning more about their gifts as they work to hone their skills is enjoyable and I liked their interactions with others who had similar supernatural talents and how they are able to work together. There are secrets, espionage, and deep emotions within this story.

There is still so much more to come from these characters and it'll be an interesting ride.

On audio, Tara Langella did an incredible job again voicing each of these characters in a distinc way. Her narration is truly impressive.
