Loved the faith message. I needed that.

I enjoyed reading this sweet, best friend to more story. Neve loves working at Melody’s café but then her parents tell her they are buying it and it will no longer be the same. Her best friend Jay left the military when his wife died and has felt lost ever since, but he is always helping at the café. Reading this story makes me want to add Nashville to my vacation bucket list. Jay and Neve did so many fun things for her new job that he was so willing to help her with. The story has so much feeling, difficult circumstances to overcome, some hot kisses and a swoony story that is heartwarming and a great read.

I was EXTREMELY impressed with Christenson’s focus on the ‘quiet power of integrity'. Furthermore, I was encouraged to set the book down and grab my Bible to re-read the story of Esther.
Christian country gospel star Colt Cooper shows us that doing what’s right isn’t always about following the rules; sometimes, it’s about challenging them. Colt chooses to make difficult choices that align with his values, knowing that they’ll come at a cost to his career. I loved that he found the courage to stand tall in moments of pressure and chose truth over popularity. Colt doesn’t only show integrity over big things; he does what’s right even when nobody is watching. He admitted when he was wrong and kept promises when he could have swept both under the carpet and nobody would have blamed him. Christenson has crafted a wonderful hero. Cole reminds us that integrity demands sacrifice and encourages us to strengthen our moral compass.
Elizabeth Kennedy, the ghostwriter hired to write Colt’s memoir, knows that there’s beauty in brokenness, but it’s her revelation while staying with Diane and Colt that gave me pause. She admits that living in the same house as Colt and Diane made God seem real in a way He never had before. She mentions Diane’s quiet faith and Colt’s dogged adherence to the truth. What a lovely testimony! We never know when our lives will speak to another and bring them to God. Are we setting a good example?

I have been loving this series so I was excited to read this book! Colton definitely had a story to tell and I loved learning more about him. This is the first book that I have read from Andrea Christenson but it ended up being cute. What About Something New is written by Andrea Christenson and it is the fourth book in The Heart of Nashville multi author series.
Colt was just trying to figure out what he was doing with his life. He had been a Christian country artist for a while now but he was finding himself at a loss. It was interesting to get to know Colt better and see his growth. He had been losing his drive and was trying to find joy in his work. I absolutely loved What About Something New? It’s a beautiful story about letting go of our carefully made plans, stepping outside our comfort zones, and - most importantly - learning to trust God with what comes next.
Colt is tired of the spotlight and dreams of a quieter life writing music, while Elizabeth is a talented ghostwriter who is much more comfortable helping other people tell their stories than stepping into the spotlight herself. As their paths come together, they both have to wrestle with what they think their futures should look like versus where God may actually be leading them.
One of my favorite themes in this book was the reminder that we don't always need to know what comes next. Sometimes we simply need to trust the One who does.
One line that really stayed with me was:
“It didn’t matter what was next for him, as long as they were together, with God writing their story.”
Isn't that what faith looks like sometimes? We may not know the next chapter, but we can trust the Author.
And this conversation especially resonated with me:
“Isn’t that such a human question?” … “One thing I know is that when He allows the things we cling to to fall apart, usually it’s so we learn to hold onto Him again.”
Ouch. And also… amen.
I loved how naturally faith was woven throughout the story without feeling forced. The characters’ struggles felt real, and their journey toward surrender, purpose, and love was both sweet and encouraging.

He doesn't know when it happened, but one day Colt Cooper realized that while he's on stage singing his country worship songs to sold out arenas he no longer feels like worship is at the heart of it, he's merely going through the motions. Hoping to get out of the next tour, he agrees to a memoir, with the agreement a ghost writer does it. When Elizabeth is offered the contract to write Colt's memoir, she isn't sure she wants to do it. Country music isn't really her jam, and while she leans more towards there being a God than not she doesn't like writing the memoirs of self professed Christians and discovering they are more fake than some of the other celebrities she writes about. Nearly from the first day she sees Colt isn't who she had judged him to, but is frustrated by his reluctance to share any stories about himself. Elizabeth and Colt both have things they would rather stay in the past, but maybe if they agree to become more open together they can create a memoir worth writing.
I really enjoyed this story. I of course knew how it was going to end because it had your basic Hallmark channel energy but I was still cheering for them right from the beginning. This is the third book I've read in the series, I still need to read the first, but so far they're all able to be standalone so if you do choose to read them out of order, other than having the confirmed couple appear occasionally throughout the story.
I really enjoyed this story. I of course knew how it was going to end because it had your basic Hallmark channel energy but I was still cheering for them right from the beginning. Loved Colt and Elizabeth's story!! Colt's been disappointed with his life. He no longer feels like he's praising God through his music, and he's ready to settle down and raise a family, or at least get off the road and stop touring for a while. When his agent tells him he might be able to get what he wants if he agrees to a book deal and will have a ghost writer, he agrees. Elizabeth has been ghost writing for celebrities for a while, after her one and only novel tanked and she became the thing memes were made of. When she meets Colt, she's sure he's just another celebrity who wants to do a fluff piece to continue to make himself look good. When they meet, she starts finding out how much her assumptions of what he would be like are wrong. Love how these two connect, how Colt helps her to reestablish a relationship with God, and how his friends and family support him when things take a turn for the worse.

What an incredibly well-written and thoughtful addition to The Heart of Nashville series! Andrea Christenson did such a great job weaving strong faith elements naturally throughout this story, and I found myself thinking about its message long after I finished reading.
I especially appreciated Colt's character. As he finds himself questioning what comes next in his career, his strong foundation of morals and integrity really stood out to me. Elizabeth, meanwhile, is used to writing other people's stories as a ghostwriter, but throughout her time with Colt, she has to find the courage to step outside of what's comfortable for her too.
I loved how their individual journeys came together around the idea of being brave enough to take that next step, even when you don't necessarily know exactly where it's going to lead. What About Something New by Andrea Christenson is the next install of the Heart of Nashville series, and I have to say my favorite so far. Don't get me wrong they are all great, but this one really touched me.
Wow! What an amazing story. As I dove into this book, I didn't want to put it down, even though the song throughout the book was Amazing Grace, my heart kept saying "It is well with my soul".
I loved the story of Elizabeth (a Ghostwriter hired to write Colt's story) and Colt (a Country singing Cowboy who only wants to sing for the Lord) from the very beginning; it was touching and beautifully written story, I just couldn't get enough of them. I felt each emotion along with them including their fear, pain, sadness, heartache, love and most importantly their faith.
This story can be read as a stand-alone, but to get the baseline of the other amazing characters in the book it's good to read the series. I would highly recommend. I could continue to praise this book, but as a favor to yourself you NEED to read this story.

This is my favorite of this series so far. The struggle between what you have always done and what you know understand you should be doing, how it all got away from you and now you need to redirect in the way God is showing you... that is the beauty of this story line. God's purpose in your life is important and it is what makes anything successful worthwhile. This story about Colt and Elizabeth pulls you in because it is so easy to relate to the things they are struggling with. The working relationship develops into friendship that becomes important. This is true love - friendship with someone who knows God and is striving to follow Him while encouraging you to do the same. I think this is why this series is so strong - it shows that God's hand in someone's life doesn't fix things but it makes the thing worthwhile. I have really adored this story and this whole series. It is not just worth your time to read. You will strengthen your faith by doing so.

What About Something New by Andrea Christenson is book 4 of the Heart of Nashville series. It was my favorite so far. Every one is different in their own ways and they are all wonderful. I couldn’t put it down, Andrea Christenson really did a great job with it. I loved the theme was Amazing Grace throughout the book. She really showed how God’s grace is essential to our lives.
Elizabeth is hired to Colt's story through her ghostwriter job. Colt is country music star but he’s more a cowboy. He’s not satisfied with just being on a stage anymore, he wants to sing the songs he writes for the Lord. He’s tired of the spotlight. Elizabeth is trying to redeem her past failures as a writer to become who she wants to be.
Each book could be considered stand-alones but they are much better as a series. Each character in each book makes the stories more beautiful.

Andrea Christenson does a great job crafting scenarios for her main characters, Elizabeth and Colt, where each has to face a choice of who they want to be. Are their goals and secret longings something worth pursuing or should they play it safe, hiding in what they know? Should they stay in the mold that’s expected of them or instead step out in faith and become who God has created them to be? Andrea brings the story back to a simple truth—God is with you in each step of life.
A quote that stood out to me was: “God hasn’t finished writing your story yet. I know it’s a little cliché, but He says He will be faithful, and He will. He’s the greatest storyteller and He promises He works our stories out for good.”

The ongoing stories of this group of friends located in Nashville continues to draw me in. Colt and Elizabeth are both struggling in their personal and spiritual lives, and when Elizabeth agrees to be the ghostwriter for Colt, both characters are challenged in a lot of ways. Their story captured my attention and had me cheering them on as they are pressured by people both professionally and spiritually and learn to depend on God, and one another as their relationship grows. This story is written with a lot of heart, faith, and vulnerability, and wonderful nuggets of Truth as they both embrace the real meaning behind Amazing Grace.

We finally get Colt’s story!! I love the Melody’s gang and enjoy learning each members’ background. We finally get Colt’s story!! I love the Melody’s gang and enjoy learning each members’ background. In this book I was so intrigued by all of the new characters too and can’t wait to read their books. (I’m looking at you Elena!) This was my first Andrea Christenson book and it won’t be my last. The growth of both Colt and Elizabeth and all of the faith moments were truly heart warming. If you haven’t started The Heart of Nashville series yet, I highly recommend adjusting your TBR to make room for it!

The more I read this book, the better it got. The setting was beautiful, the characters were so quirky and realistic, and the romance was sweet. I loved the Christmassy parts and Colt’s castle. I also loved the encouragement that Elizabeth got from her cousin Elena. It touched my heart and encouraged me personally. I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series. I am eagerly looking forward to the next book!

What About Something New?
I absolutely loved Colt and Elizabeth’s story! Colt is a Christian country music star who is tired of the limelight. He just wants the opportunity to write his own songs. His agent negotiated a book deal for him that he reluctantly agreed to. Elizabeth is a ghost writer assigned to him even though she does not like the type music he plays. The longer they collaborate, the closer they become. When secrets are revealed will their relationship survive? I highly recommend you read their book.
I absolutely loved Colt and Elizabeth’s story! Colt is a Christian country music star who is tired of the limelight. He just wants the opportunity to write his own songs. His agent negotiated a book deal for him that he reluctantly agreed to. Elizabeth is a ghost writer assigned to him even though she does not like the type music he plays. The longer they collaborate, the closer they become. When secrets are revealed will their relationship survive? I highly recommend you read their book.

While Cole has a strong faith, Elizabeth is searching for faith. Great read.

I'm not familiar with the author, but found her book easy to read. I'm so thankful for writers who honor God with their abilities and keep their stories readable.

What About Something New? is a heartfelt romance that beautifully combines love, faith, music, and personal growth. Colt’s struggle to step away from fame and Elizabeth’s journey from ghostwriting to pursuing her own voice make their story both relatable and inspiring. I loved how they encourage each other to face their fears and follow the paths God has placed before them. A warm, uplifting Nashville romance filled with hope, purpose, and genuine emotion.

I enjoyed reading about Colt, a successful country music singer, and Elizabeth, a ghost writer. She doesn’t like country music and he really didn’t want his story written. It was fun to watch the chemistry with this unlikely couple as they challenged each other with personal and spiritual growth. Of, course, I was challenged also with this clean Christian romance!

This story is not only a sweet romance but explores integrity in the choices we make and choosing to live for God. It's a good balance of light reading with deeper conversations. There is also a fun reference to an 80s movie that made me laugh.

A beautifully written story about faith, choices and courage with a sweet romance. It's an emotional, hopeful and inspiring read. This story touches on how God is always working in our lives in a natural, meaningful way. The characters are realistic and engaging capturing their personal growth and the power of grace. An exceptional, entertaining, satisfying book to read. Don't miss it!

Good series based on a group of friends including some Christian musicians. Mostly overcoming problems in their lives, and finding a new romance to help them along.

Staying True
Elizabeth and Colt are in a business relationship together. They also have their own professional crisis going on. There are vulnerable, honest, soul-searching moments here. It's a sweet story that contains heartache as well as love on all sorts of levels as the main characters stay true to who they are and to the One who created them.

Encouraging and uplifting.
Colt and Elizabeth both had dreams they wanted to pursue, but were held back by different reasons. I enjoyed their vulnerability, their character development and the much-needed truth bombs delivered by friends and family. And the explosion of baby animals on the farm was a bonus!

The Heart of Nashville series has me in love with each of the characters. But Colt with his burn out and Elizabeth with her fears of being seen. I felt the connection and struggles they both faced. How often do we question who and what we are doing things for and how love an be a true reminder.

The plot in this newest book in the multi-author Heart of Nashville series is a bit grittier in spots than some of the earlier ones, but I still enjoyed it. The characters are great, and the ups and downs of the main relationship are handled well. I look forward to the next book!
