A Powerful Challenge to Godly Living in godless times

I loved the book! It dives deep into the makeup of the prophet Elijah, and how God used him to reach his world, not as some "super-human" we can't relate to, but as an ordinary man who was fully committed to serving and declaring God and the truth in a world desperately in need of both. Relates so much to our modern world, it's scary. Each chapter ends with something to think about and discuss, which makes it perfect for small or large group Bible study.

Fascinating

Amir and Tolick present the truth through the scriptures that can speak to the layman. This study brings to life a man whose courage in obedience to God in spite, at times, of his fear, is remarkable. He is an example for Christians today as we walk in a similar world; antisemitic, child sacrifice, constant bombardment of an unrepentant moral or religious disobedience! Come Lord Jesus!

God's Word is living and active. You know that's true when the story of Elijah is so relatable that it could have been written yesterday.

The old testament prophet Elijah is not just mentioned in one book of the Bible, but mentioned in several, including the new testament.

In this book Amir Ysarfati has the reader stopping and taking an in-depth look at Elijah and his circumstances and his actions.

The point of this Bible study on Elijah is to understand the prophet and how God worked through him, but also the author is trying to help the followers of Jesus today to learn how to deal with the challenges and circumstances of the day and perservere through them, staying true to God's plan for us, using Elijah as our example.

Could not put it down!

As usual, Amir’s writing draws you in to the narrative, the history, the Biblical accuracy and how it relates to today as much as to the time Elijah lived. Such a wonderful paraphrase of the stories of Elijah, the humor, drama, the power of God. This is a must read! and a must read again, and maybe again. Gems of Spiritual truth in bite sized pieces. Highly recommend!

Amir’s best book to date

I strongly recommend this book for everyone - believers and unbelievers, churched and unchurched, kids and adults. It’s a reasonably quick, easy read with deep truths. He fictionalizes some of the events to make them more accessible, but he keeps the main thing the main thing - use the life of Elijah to inspire your own walk with the Lord. Excellently done, sir.

IT IS ONE HIS BEST ONES. IT IS SO TIMLEY AND I THINK ENCOURAGING TO THE READER TO BE A BETTER WITNESS ESPECIALLY IN THESE DAYS WE ARE LIVING IN RIGHT NOW. IT WAS WELL WRITTEN, I LOVE HOW HE MADE THE WHOLE STORY OF ELIJAH COME ALIVE SO TO SPEAK. IT WAS HARD TO PUT DOWN ONCE I STARTED. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT AND WILL BE VOING BACK THOUGH IT AGAIN SOON, BUT THIS TIME CHEWING ON IT AND TAKING NOTES.

Amir has a way of explaining the Bible and characters like Elijah better than anyone else. Thank you for this story of Elijah and Elisha that I had read before, but never fully understood. The “mandates” were great and something I will strive for in my life. Again, thank you.
