This was ooookay. Some glaring editing issues (most notably: missing words). And the characters seemed like they switched from one emotion to another very quickly. But overall, an interesting & entertaining book.
CAT SCRATCH FEVER is the third book in the Mystic Harbor series. These books are not entwined and can be read in any order.
This is a lusty, quick read sure to get your heart racing.
I loved how they both fought the attraction with everything they had, but found that fate could not be denied.
I am looking forward to more stories about the inhabitants of this quirky little town.
Title: CAT SCRATCH FEVER Series: Mystic Harbor #3 Category /Genre: Paranormal Romance Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content Grammar/editing: D – many errors, some distraction Received from: Amazon purchase
This story brought tears to my eyes a few times. Makayla sounded like a prissy woman and I guess she was. Ronan let a young love destroy his world for fifteen years. I am just glad that he woke up and went and got his mate. Just to let you know there is a lot of errors in this story. Words that should have been one but was put as on. Also you added extra words where you didn't need them. You also had about seven pages where the type was fading out at the top. You might want to have a talk with whoever checks for errors because who is doing it now is not very good. Thank you though this story was good.
This story will appeal to most lovers of shifter romance. A cougar hermit living in the woods after being betrayed in love at the tender age of eighteen. A high powered BBW editor of a popular magazine has an accident on the way home through the national park. He rescues her and discovers, to his disgust, that she is his fated mate. It doesn't matter that neither of them want this, fate won't be denied. There's no easy path for these two! A pleasant read.
shifter overdrive set vehicle accident, heterosexual relationships, sex, mentions of alcohol , mentions of concussion, mentions of gunshot wound, death of animals (most for hunting/survival reasons and 1 not for that), mention of abusive relationship (side character), mention of fighting for woman's honour
Rollercoaster coaster ride of wild emotions. He's a recluse not happy about her presence. She's stuck with a hunky, infuriating man. Each desires the other BUT will it work? Misunderstandings and hurt feelings abound. Good character development and lots of action.
Short PNR BBW romance with a male cougar shifter who likes curvy women. Not the worst PNR I have read lately, but really nothing special. If I had not received Cat Scratch Fever for free, I never would have even considered reading it. I probably will not read something by this author again unless I get if for free and am desperate for reading material again.
What an amazing story, I've rated this book 5/5 as that I S the most I could give this Author,, Cat scratch fever by Scarlett Grove, was a truly amazing story I could not stop reading it, I can't wait to start the next book, and find out if Makayla and Robin carry on in the series and what happens with his Brother in the story.
an accident happens from a mountain lion, she gets out to find help slips and hurts herself more. another mountain lion shows up finds her an d take her to his cabin. 2 lost souls stranded together because of a storm and finally knowing they are mates and work things out
Interesting dynamic between the brothers. I liked the book but didn't love it. I couldn't connect with the characters. I would rate this a 3.5. I think that most paranormal romance readers would enjoy this book.
This was a wonderful book. I especially liked how the two main characters came together. There was plenty of action and romance to keep me reading. The authoress made great strides in creating this book. I hope to read more in the future.
Does love make compromises? The answer is yes. This story represents that compromise and shows what each of us is capable of overcoming and giving up for happiness. Although, something should be done with his brother, Ashton. What a danger to the shifter community!
Imagine being injured in a car wreck, then getting lost in the forest with no idea where you are, and all the time knowing you are being stalked by something big...sounds like fun to me...NOT!
This shifter romance annoyed me from the beginning. It's not so much the Hero it's the Heroine. Holy shitake mushrooms I wanted to strangle The B****. Makayla is the cliché city girl that loves expensive shoes and clothing. I get that the author was trying to make her strong and in charge of her own sexuality, but damn. Makayla finds herself stranded in a cabin in a snow storm after falling down a ravine in her car, probably has a concussion from the bump on her head, falls into a river bleeding and is lucky not to have drowned in the water as she was unconscious at the time she was saved and you think this would bother her, right? Right? Hell no, the crazy lady is too focused on the man having no convenient amenities for her to use. *rolls eyes*
Makayla yapping reminds me of a little poodle that needs to be put into time out, because she doesn't shut up. She is bored. She needs something more entertaining to do. Let's ignore the fact that she us in a cabin with a man that skins animals alive. Ugh.
Oh, and let's not forget the rant about coffee and not think about how a strange man undressed her down to her skimpy underwear. She never even asked.
Ronan, talks how she is annoying, but how his inner animal wants her (and what inner animal that is, I have no clue. He is a cougar and a mountain lion, last time I check... those were two completely different animals) and to him wanting her, I chalk that up to be because he is a man who has not had any in a long while. That is the only thing I can think of him wanting Makayla.
Then, we have when Ms. City-cracky-pants sees Ronan in animal for and then changes back. She acts scared of him, or tries too, but it just doesn't come through for me because the next thing she is saying is for him to give her a bath because she smells. And she has no problems getting naked I'm front of a man she does know...
I could go on and on about this syory, but that would take forever. I gave it 2 stars because I liked that the Hero wasn't rich and he was rugged mountain man, the stars are only for him and pity on him for being stuck with a cranky city ^#*#*#.
The author has inconsistencies throughout the story. It needed a few more proof reads before she pushed that "publish" button. A side note. If you can't remember things about your characters, write them down in a notebook.
I wouldn't recommend this story and I will not be reading the others in the series.
This is the story of Makayla (a human) and Ronan a cat shifter (although it's confusing as to what kind of cat. The story goes between mountain lion and cougar). The editing could use some help. Makayla is driving through a forest preserve and a mountain lion runs out in front of her so she swerves to avoid hitting it & hits a patch of ice. Her car goes over the embankment and crashes. She is able to climb out of the car but has to walk through the forest and is totally lost. She is chased by the big cat and manages to fall down a ravine and is knocked unconscious. That is where Ronan finds Makayla and takes her back to his cabin. There is a lot of angst from there on during her stay with him because he is trying to deny that she is his mate. It was a good story but the editing was a little annoying.
Kindle unlimited standalone book in series. Best so far. I'd give it a 4 1/2 star review! She's just gotten so bad news and decides to take the long way home from her parents house. When she runs off the road, she's saved by a mountain man who lives 20 miles from town and has no phone, electricity, or manners, but man he's hot. He doesn't like humans and just wants to be left alone. When he stumbles upon her, he can't understand why he wants her to leave but can't stand the thought of her leaving. It could never work, they come from 2 different worlds, or could it?
Another great addition to the Mystic Harbor series. Makayla is traveling home to Portland when she swerves into a patch of black ice to avoid a large cat. Roman finds her passed out and wounded, taking her to his cabin 20 miles from town during one of the biggest snowstorms in history. Stuck together for a week with nothing to do, they develop a love hate relationship. When Roman's brother Ashton arrives to take her back to civilization, choices have to be made.
I received this as an arc for an honest review. Now I may or may not post spoiler but read on if you dare!
Now, this book starts out fast paced and keeps moving forward at that speed. You get a refreshing look at shifters and how they handle finding the mate of their dreams.
This book has a few twists and turns and you will not be able to put it down till your finished with it. I have to say that I have become addicted to Ms. Grove's books! What a great read!
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review by the author .Scarlett Grove has done it again this book was a fantastic read .I couldn't stop turning the pages until the end .I loved the characters and storyline it was well written with lots of emotion .City girl and mountain lion man two opposites trapped together and a fierce attraction both are trying to deny I absolutely loved it .This is a must read for paranormal lovers out there .
