Las Vegas Book One Hunter Wolf is a highly paid Las Vegas escort with a face and body that have men salivating and paying a great deal for him to fulfill their fantasies. He keeps his own fantasies to himself, not that they matter. Grant is an elementary-school teacher who works miracles with his summer school students. He discovered his gift while in high school, tutoring Hunter, a fellow student. They meet again when Hunter rescues Grant in a club. Grant doesn’t know Hunter is an escort or that they share similarly painful pasts involving family members’ substance abuse. After the meeting, Hunter invites Grant to one of the finest restaurants in Las Vegas. Hunter is charming, sexy, and gracious, and Grant is intrigued. With more in common than they realized, the two men decide to give a relationship a try. At first, Grant believes he can deal with Hunter's profession and accepts that Hunter will be faithful with his heart if not his body. Both men find their feelings run deeper than either imagined. For Grant, it's harder than he thought to accept Hunter’s occupation, and Hunter's feelings for Grant now make work nearly impossible. But Hunter’s choice of profession comes with a price, which could involve Grant’s job and their hearts—a price that might be too high for either of them to pay.
This is a story about a man who is in control of every aspect of his life—until he realizes that the price he pays for his independence may just be too high. Hunter Wolf is that man, a highly paid and well-known escort who loves his job and the benefits it brings. When he runs into Grant, an elementary school teacher who remembers Hunter from when he tutored him in high school, the emotional wall Hunter has erected to protect himself and the deep secrets he carries, begins to crumble. What follows is an emotional roller coaster as both men try to deal with the effects Hunter’s job and his need not to be vulnerable have on the relationship they want. Nothing comes easy to these two, and Andrew Grey did an amazing job portraying the issues, thoughts, and emotions of two men who want more than friendship, but don’t know if the price they have to pay is worth it.
Hunter oozes sexiness, dominates any gathering if he wants to, and is top dog in every way. But he also lives a double life. Like many sex workers, he shows one part of him when he is at work, and keeps his deeper emotions to himself. He has two reasons to do this. One is the secret he carries that has made him never want to be vulnerable again, and the other is that he needs to keep part of himself locked away or he won’t be able to do his job and remain emotionally whole. He takes escorting seriously, and it is much more for him than selling his body. He truly wants to help his clients in whatever way they need him. But when he meets Grant again, something happens. At first he fights it: “Hunter was in control of his life, his emotions, and his body. He could do what he pleased with all of them and he was fucking happy, dammit.” But the writing is on the wall. Hunter has to learn to be honest with himself on a deeper level, which is tough, but his feelings for Grant make it almost impossible to do his job, so whatever he decides will have significant consequences.
Grant is an amazing guy. He has been treated badly by his alcoholic parents, and still takes care of his aging father. He is also paying for the debt his messed-up sister has amassed, and he doesn’t exactly have a lot of money as a teacher. But he is not willing to let that stop him from being happy. Hunter intrigues him on a purely physical level at first. When Hunter takes him to dinner to thank him for helping him out in high school, the evening is truly special, and Grant sees a glimpse of the “real” Hunter, the part nobody else normally sees. Grant is intrigued and despite some misgivings, he agrees to giving a relationship a try. As Grant begins to fall for Hunter, dealing with his profession becomes more and more difficult, to the point where it is utterly painful. Grant has to make a choice as well, one that is as emotionally difficult as Hunter’s.
If you like character-driven stories about men with deep emotional scars, if you’re fascinated by the different ways men use to deal with their past and the consequences they face, and if you’re looking for a read that is as emotionally raw and demanding as it is sweet and touching, then you will probably like this novel as much as I do. It made my heart bleed for Hunter and Grant, but it was well worth the effort!

I’m a sucker for rent boy stories. Here, Hunter is a high end escort in Vegas, living the high life, or so he thinks. After a rough start in life, he has become successful and rich by becoming a highly sought after escort. He has money, good looks and popularity, but he finds that he is lacking quite a bit when he runs into his old high school acquaintance, Grant.
Hunter meets grant in a club after Grant’s date ends up taking him to the back room where Grant was really not comfortable. The two reconnect, and their friendship grows. They face a few obstacles though, one of which being their respective occupations really not being good for one another. Grant is a teacher, and Hunter’s current occupation could have some very negative effects on Grant’s profession. Hunter is reluctant to tell Grant what he does, and it takes a while for him to come clean. But, the two have a connection, and after the truth comes out, Grant decides he can deal with Hunter’s job if he doesn’t put too much thought into it, so they decide to take things further.
It doesn’t take long for the issue to start causing problems for them. Between the danger some of Hunter’s jobs put him in and what that actually means as far as Grant’s job goes, they hit some pretty big bumps. Hunter struggles with wanting to keep Grant safe, not knowing if he wants or is able to give up the only job he has been successful at, how he feels when he is with Grant, and generally what is really important to him in the long run. Grant mostly struggles with the actualities of Hunter’s job, i.e. him being with other men.
I really enjoyed the actual struggles these guys faced. It seemed very real and honest, and I loved seeing how the two were together – how having sex was different with Grant than with his customers, etc. It was easy for me to feel the difference, but I could easily see how that didn’t matter in the long run.
This was a solid, easy read. It was fairly predictable, but well written and quite an enjoyable friends to lovers story. As with all of Andrew’s stories, this has a real genuine feel to it. Give this a try if you’d like to see how these guys decide if the price is worth it. I’m looking forward to seeing if some of the other guys figure it out as well.
What price is too high to pay when it comes to matters of the heart? That’s the fundamental question behind this story of a highly paid escort and an elementary school teacher. A match made in heaven they were not – not with the conflict of their chosen careers standing as an almost insurmountable obstacle between them.
On the surface, both of these guys (Grant and Hunter) may have seemed like normal, well-adjusted men. Start peeling back the layers of the onion, however, and you’ll find plenty of stuff that will make you wrinkle your nose from the stink of it and probably even bring a tear or two to your eye when you really absorb what life has thrown at them.
I love the enigma that surrounds an opposites attract themed story, but it’s extra special when that relationship feels like it has a snowball’s chance in Vegas of beating the odds (score – two Vegas references in one sentence!). I love rooting for the underdogs and it definitely felt like Grant and Hunter needed a few extra cheerleaders on their side.
In Grant and Hunter, the author created vivid impressions and so much depth. These characters were brought to life showing both strength and vulnerability, the desire for answers with the capacity to forgive, the passion to give of themselves to provide the best experience for others, and the ability to love grandly if only they can take the risk and unlock their protected hearts. Best of all, they were believable and so was their struggle. The author did not make it easy for them, so their HEA was well earned.
In addition to giving me characters that I could love, I was so very intrigued by the rich elements of the plot included in this story – things like some perspective around alcoholism, psychology, poor parental choices that affect the rest of their kids’ lives, and the fact that everyone deserves to find that one person who will love them unconditionally from the inside out no matter the price. Highly recommended!!!
Whenever I read an Andrew Grey novel, I let out a sigh of relief -- this is an author who knows exactly how to tell a story. Even Mr. Grey's unsuccessful novels are far better than most of the stuff that is out in the marketplace. Well, I'm pleased to so that this new book is a strong candidate.
Meet Hunter, a cocky Las Vegas escort who actually has a heart of gold. Meet Grant, an old high school acquaintance of Hunter who happen to meet again in a trendy gay bar in Vegas. Well . . . There is a fantastic chemistry between these two main characters, and the heat radiates off of the page: Even a simple kiss seems to draw the reader into their private time and makes me feel like a voyeur. That is simply fantastic writing.
And what do we learn in this book: (1) the allegedly hardened heart of Hunter is crying out for love that he deserves, (2) the nerdy guy has a chance at love with the popular man, and (3) love conquers all. Pretty simple points, but Mr. Grey does a fantastic job bringing them all together. I would try to do a summary of the book, but I am sure that I would not do it justice.
Let me just say that this is the story of a developing relationship between two people who are lonely and searching for love. There are some side stories concerning the similar family backgrounds of the two main characters, but that is all icing on the cake. In the end, we are reading this story because we care about the two main characters and hope that they can make a lifetime connection. Can an escort fall in love with a school teacher? Can the school teacher fall in love with the escort? And can both men forget their jobs when they are together? That is what this book is about.
Four and a half stars for "Pretty Woman" for the male romance genre.
High priced and very famous Vegas escort Hunter stumbles into something he never expected one night while loosening himself up in a dance bar on the Strip: An unrequited "friendship" with old high school "acquaintance" Grant, a school teacher who just so happened to move to Las Vegas recently from their old neighborhood in Rhode Island.
Discovering on the spot (basically, "You're gay? Like me? How did that happen?")they marvel how they did not know in high school when bookish Grant tutored jock Hunter well enough to get him passing grades and a wrestling scholarship to college. That's about all they ever knew about each other, until they suddenly had to individually confront what they actually felt about each other a decade before, gradually letting the other one know now.
This is a tough plot to construct because there are so many conflicting scenarios which crop up in every chapter, scenarios which are complicated by Grant's family situation and Hunter's long-suppressed family complications. This is enough to slip up any author--but fortunately, we have Andrew Grey to lead us along the way.
This prolific, can't fail, author grabs this tale from the tail, so to speak, and nurtures us--as well as Grant and Hunter--along so that we come to realize that those two physically opposite creatures on the cover can come to an understanding that life sometimes forces you to decide. Decisions are not easy, but talking things out will usually help the process. Words, after all, can heal as well as hurt, and the words in this splendid book on every front are worth the price.
5 I-love-Grant stars for one of the best characters Andrew Grey has ever written! Perfect, just perfect...but not in that artifical way. Perfect in that down-to-earth,real way. He is generous, kind, smart, forgiving,he can stand for himself,he is a survivor...and I just loved him!
And Hunter...well
"Most days he could crook his finger at a guy he saw watching him and they could have some fun"
"When the four of them appeared...he swore half of them turned toward them.Hunter unzipped his jacket and let it fall open. With that one movement,he was the center of attention."
Not humble much? Well,he is,I quote,THE TOP DOG after all...
And than he met Grant...is he good enough for Grant? No,and he knows it...Does that stop him from pursuing him? No. Does he let feelings develop between them, and then use the oldest and stupidest romantic notion "I walk away, and I do this for you,so you won't be hurt"? YES! Because,it's easier to leave Grant, than to give up all the money and find a job that doesn't include selling your body, right?!
BUT...he redeemed himself by the end...and Grant likes him,so I like him too *grundgingly admits*.
And thank you,Andrew Grey, for showing us the value of second chance with Grant and his father, and for Grant's sister, for not making her vile female character, who made a mistakes, but knew how to came around.
Very sweet but slow moving romance. I had some trouble connecting with Hunter in the beginning - too cocky, too conceited, too much. But Grant... loved that guy. While both Hunter's and Grant's past affected their present, it was Grant who demonstrated how he tried to move forward, made peace with his father and strove to be a good teacher. Very adult romance, relatable characters. Very real situations. Some of the themes were a trifle repetitive - everyone paid a price - Hunter, Grant and Carrie for the decisions their parents made, Hunter paid a price for his job, etc. but all mentioned multiple times. And Grant had it easier than Carrie which was also mentioned several times. But all in all, a lovely HEA. I loved Grant's reaction when Hunter returned. Awesome. Loved Hunter's friends. I see the next book is about Ember. Will definitely read that as he is most intriguing. Do we get a book about Mark and Derrick?? Hope so.
You know what? Well done Andrew Grey! This is the first book I actually liked by you. Write like this and I'll have to keep coming back for more.
Was the book flawed? Of course. It got a little slow in the middle and the characters voices started to blend together.
Was there too much logical conversation? Yes, yes there was. Normally I'd be rejoicing about this, but maybe a little less logic next time would be a godd middle.
Did I love it? Thankfully yes! More so for the fact that I'm absolutely thrilled that is kept my attention. My book slump lately has been terrible and definitely an influence.
I'd completely an utterly recommend this one to anyone looking for characters going though some moral dilemmas.
This is the most beautiful story I have read. Old high school acquaintances...bumping into each other in a club. The kiss had to go somewhere on the first date, but Grant and Hunter wanted each other so much they don't know what they want to do. Grant is a school teacher, and Hunter is an escort...in Las Vegas. Now they realize that they wanted something more...LOVE! They wanted to be more than just friends...be lovers. Beautiful story!!!
I liked this book. It wasn't my favorite but it had a good storyline. I guess it also has a great message... that maybe it's okay to make sacrifices for the things you want most and just because you've always known how to live one way, doesn't mean that it's impossible to live another way.
Review based on an early ARC copy given by the Author in exchange for an honest review...
Hunter Wolf works as an escort in the city that never sleeps. While one might think sex is a given with every client, more often than not Hunter fulfills their needs in other ways. Actually listening to them, seeing past scars to the true beauty someone holds, even being a friend. He has an uncanny ability to read people and he uses that to his advantage. It’s made him a name as one of the most sought after escorts in Vegas. When he and his co-workers head to a new night club to scope it out as a possible place to take clients, Hunter has an unexpected but pleasant run in with an old friend.
Grant is working as a teacher in Vegas largely in part to his friendship with Hunter when they were in high school. Grant tutored Hunter and not only was he good at it, he enjoyed it, so he became a teacher. The two begin a tentative relationship and they are both very open and honest with each other. Grant is wary of Hunter’s occupation in the beginning, but his ever growing feelings make it impossible not to pursue a relationship. Hunter, however, is so scared he will hurt Grant, fearful of letting down his guard and letting someone in. Grant is willing to risk it all for a chance at love with Hunter, but is the feeling mutual?
I loved the simplicity of this story. The main focus is on Grant and Hunter, their pasts and how they are linked, and the possibility of a future. The obstacles they have to overcome in order to be together. In the beginning I was a little miffed with Hunter and his constant need to fix something that wasn’t broken, but I finally realized that he was what was broken. He had built this wall up around him for fear of being vulnerable, of being hurt. While he successfully kept the pain out, he risked blocking his chance at happiness as well.
What Grey did with the character of Hunter was amazing. He created this guy that was unapologetically gay, sometimes cocky but not conceited, more like convinced. Hunter was sexy and in demand, but he was still a nice guy that put other’s feelings before his. And he was that way in high school as well. When the bullies picked on Grant, Hunter stood up for him, uncaring of what they thought. It was very refreshing to see a male lead that wasn’t the bully or conceited, someone that needed to be knocked down a notch or two before they can be happy. Hunter’s flaw was that he was always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Another great story from the mesmerizing mind of Andrew Grey. I just want to live inside his head for a day, can he be John Malkovich for 24 hours so that I can do that? If you are a fan of his work, this is a given. But hopeless romantics that like their big, broody alpha male to have a heart of gold will really enjoy this new story that promises to be a series. Grey wove several secondary characters into the mix and I’m quite excited to read their stories as well. Especially Ember, one word, YUM!!!!
A new story from Andrew Grey and you know you want to go sit and have time because you will want to finish it. That was the case for me. I was very excited to see this new title and to read the blurb as the subject fascinates me so it was a must read for me from the beginning.
The Prize is new territory for Mister Grey, branching a subject that as far as I know, he hasn’t before, that of the life of an male escort (Hunter). This story has you reading with interest for the way both main characters are portrayed is different and very thoughtful.
On one hand we have Hunter, the high priced escort and on the other side Grant, a teacher who’s a fascinating man inside and out. He’s faced struggles in his life, just like Hunter did but came out as a sure winner. The he uses the gift of teaching to give children a part of his spirit and enthusiasm to learn.
Hunter is top of the bill in his profession, excellent in what he does with a loyal clientele and a genuine interest in the people he services, trying to make them feel good even if it means that they will move on. Personally I loved that part as it shows the wonderful inner strength of the man.
Both men struggled in their childhood, making totally opposite choices in life yet they find their way towards each other, having shared high school together.
The title of the book is very well chosen and is appropriate for so many things in this story. There are prices to be paid and prices that have already been paid. When is a price too high or not high enough? All those things you will find out while reading this excellent. Mister Grey adds a good dose of drama, that in a way you can feel coming but it still rips you apart when it hits.
Besides the relationship between Grant and Hunter, we also see pieces of how both their childhoods were. As we read about that, we see Grant interact with his father and with his sister, his caring and nursing nature showing through despite everything is a treat to experience as a reader. Just like you can sense the sexiness coming from Hunter.
One of the best things in this book besides the things I pointed out already (obviously), is the friendship Hunter has with the men he is working “with“. I love their characters, their interaction, knowing and sensing they all have a story to tell.
I am really grateful that in the epilogue you see that even with the choices that were made the friendship is solid and will stay that way. I hope that it means that Mister Grey will write the stories of these other men as well.
For now while I will wait (not so patiently) for the next story, I can only highly recommend “The Price” as it is a very complete, sensual and real story.

Hunter is a gay professional escort in Las Vegas. He’s extremely good looking and makes a lot of money giving men who can pay for his time what they need. Sometimes it’s confidence, sometimes it’s just being an impressive looking date, but most of the time it’s good sex. Hunter has close friends who are in the same line of work. Grant is a schoolteacher at a private school in Las Vegas, although he’s teaching summer school at a public school as this book opens. Grant is also gay and was bullied in high school where he first met Hunter. They were not close and lost touch after graduation. When they accidentally meet at a gay club, there is no insta-love, just kindness and courtesy as Hunter offers to take Grant home when Grant’s date for the evening turns out to want more than Grant is willing to offer. A peck on the cheek is all Hunter leaves with and that intrigues him enough that he returns the next day to ask Grant out on a date. This is a friends to lovers trope with one big hitch. Grant does not know what Hunter does for a living and Hunter is afraid to tell him for fear it will drive Grant away. When he finally tells Grant the truth, Grant believes he can handle it as long as Hunter is “faithful in his heart.” When Grant has second thoughts on this arrangement Hunter has some big decisions to make, as does Grant. Watching these two men think through what they have, what they want, and whether the price of getting what each requires in a relationship is too high. This is a grittier book than many of Andrew Grey’s stories, with a thoughtful look at sex workers. It is not a titillating account of a man who prostitutes himself without realizing what he is giving up in his life and in his heart. Mr. Grey always ends his books with an HEA and he does not disappoint with this one, but it’s a deeply emotional and practical struggle to get there. The back stories are well researched and we are given a carefully considered plot, which creates a plot-driven book with exquisitely drawn characters. The diverse secondary characters are enormously important in The Price and since this is the first in a series I expect at least some of them will get their own stories. I’m looking forward to them with great anticipation. I highly recommend The Price and know that readers will enjoy it.
Hunter Wolf is THE Las Vegas escort of the moment. High paid, desired by men of all ages and professions he has a good job. He has enough money not to have to worry about it and he enjoys his job. He has a face and body that has people salivating and also has a great circle of friends. One night, out at a night club, he rescues a man from a bad date and recognizes him as Grant, a class mate from high school who helped him pass his English tests. Grant is a school teacher and Hunter is the reason. Helping Hunter in school he discovered how much he enjoys teaching and explaining things and has made it his profession. He is a teacher, is good at it and enjoys what he does. A bad childhood has left him doubting his own worth but he has not given up on love yet. Over dinner, Hunter and Grant discover they have more similarities than expected. Hunter is scarred by his childhood and doesn’t believe anybody will ever love him. But the more time the two spend together the more difficult it gets to stick with this belief. But Hunter is an escort and it’s the only thing he knows how to do and it makes relationships difficult. As Grant and Hunter start to fall for each other they discover there is a price to pay for their happiness.
This is my favorite book by Andrew Grey so far. I’ve read about 20 of his books and this is the first time he’s made me cry. It also contains – in my opinion – the hottest sex he’s written. This story touched me. Following Grant and Hunter through their very real, emotional and difficult struggles both past and present as they figure out what they want and try to do the right thing kept me spellbound until I’d finished the book. I started it hesitantly because of the topic and because cheating is something I do not enjoy reading about, even if it is job related (so maybe not technically cheating, but still) but Andrew Grey handled this part of the story very well. Without giving anything away I also have to say that the struggles Hunter and Grant go through are not the ones I expected when I started the book. Highly recommend it and I hope this is the beginning of a new series.
Hunter Wolf might be a highly paid escort living in Las Vegas, but he's also a man with needs and wants. Some people judge his way of living, seeing him as a person who does things that aren't quite welcome in the scheme of things. In his mind, he does what he does to survive. Then again, he enjoys his job. He gets to meet all sorts of people and do exactly as his heart desires.
His life takes an unexpected turn when he meets the enigmatic Grant, a blast from his own past. Hunter finds it difficult to let Grant go after their first meeting at the club. There's something about the man that clicks within him and he refuses to walk away from what they've shared between them. Deep inside, he wants to get to know Grant a little further. To truly see what makes him tick.
Unfortunately, Grant doesn't seem that keen to spend more time with Hunter. The fact that he's an escort puts a deep dent in what could be a wonderful relationship. Hunter knows that he can bring Grant around to his way of thinking. He's the one person who seems to like him for who and what he is. The question is, how far is he willing to go to make sure that Grant ends up as his one and only when the time comes?
A titillating read, The Price is one of those stories that makes you want to keep reading once you get to the very end. We meet two gorgeous men, both eager to be with the other. Sadly, they're from two different spectrums. Despite that fact, both do want to make things work between them. That's what make this book so wonderful to read. You can really feel the chemistry between Hunter and Grant. The camaraderie they share is certainly amusing. I look forward to reading more of Andrew's work soon enough.
Well written love story of two beautiful men who came from an unloved past due to alcoholic parents, foster care, and feeling unworthy of love. The novel had a strong story line with well developed characters that brought out a very emotional and heartfelt relationship. Grant was a very gifted school teacher and Hunter was the top Escort in Las Vegas. The two of them had gone to High School together and Grant had helped Hunter understand his English course. Hunter was the jock type with the popularity that goes with it and Grant was the quiet, shy type who had a crush on Hunter. When Grant had been bullied Hunter was there to help him. Now as adults they meet again when Grant's date had other ideas for the back room of the club with several other guys and Grant ran away ending up running into Hunter. The two end up going to Grant's home ending with just a kiss at the door. But there was an attraction there and they start with dinner the next day. The relationship becomes intense, but the only way Hunter could see them together is a monogamous one of the heart while Hunter continues with his clients in his job. He felt that was the only thing he was good at. Was Hunter willing to pay the price of losing Grant for his job?? Both had been paying the price their whole lives with their parents. And Hunter didn't want to hurt Grant...so he ran!! Hunter needed to find out what he really wanted...What his heart really wanted. This was a beautiful love story that made me cry!! If you love MM Romance, Love, and Hot Sex with a genuine story line you will love this. A Must Read!!
I devoured this book in a couple of hours because I literally didn’t come up for air! It’s a lot grungier in parts and more angsty than many of Andrew’s others, yet more endearing and sweet in others. Hunter is good at what he does and he loves his life. Or he thinks he does until the sweet Grant stumbles into his life. What I want to say most is that this is a loving, enduring, and powerful story that one will want to read again (ASAP). Andrew has woven a true romance and life changing story in his simple, elegant style that we have all come to love. In the process of escaping a horrible first date, Grant literally stumbles into Hunter. Being the kind man he is, he rescues the man that helped him get through English back in high school. What neither man expected was the connection they made. Hunter starts to deviate from his lifestyle and work choices thanks to the quiet man he can’t get out of his head. Grant can’t believe the man that set the course of his life remembers him, much less might want him. What neither man expects is just what the other needs most. This is not an easy story for either man but they romance and love is something special. This is a must read for any that love hot, sweet love with a little bite Winking smile If you haven’t read Mr. Grey’s work before (is there anyone out there, lol) then jump in and get your spicy love on. For those that love Andrew’s works already, you will be glad you picked up his newest! I know I am.
3.5+* I have found some of Andrew Grey's novels to be gritty and intense and some too sweet for words. So I go into a new one wondering what I will get - I do usually enjoy them though! At first I thought I was getting a sweet, low angst, low drama read but after about the first third, more intensity came in. This was largely when Grant, Hunter and later Carrie, were dealing with the aftermath and still ongoing effects of their parents alcoholism. I found these conversations quite good. I also liked that whilst Hunter outwardly was the fit, ripped put together guy his life was based on a greatly diminsihed self confidence because of his upbringing. Grant on the other hand protrayed the nerd - teacher, not physically extremely fit but he had a central core of strength that helped him be a very confident put together person. I also liked that he didnt let Hunter walk all over him and even when Hunter did his 'I'm doing it to save you' bit, Grant didn't let him off too easy. I still found the in relationship bits a bit sweet for me so my ratings bounced up and down between 3 & 4* but overall I liked the intensity of the guys history.
The Price takes the reader down a road of second chances, but as the title states, there is a price both men must be willing to pay. One is life changing, while the other is acceptance. I'll admit, I didn't want the story to end. Captivated on page one, I kept turning as the plot and characters unfolded, and while it does indeed end, I wanted more.
That hasn't happened to me in a long time with a stand alone story, and I do take it as a good sign. I want more stories of second chances and high stakes. However, a little more action would've been nice, and I don't mean the sexual kind. Although, the heat and chemistry was amazing between the main characters.
The writing style is still easy to consume, which means I can devour stories in a single day. What I really enjoyed was the peek into the escort industry. It's like a dirty little secret and adds a taboo flavor to contrast against the straight laced teacher. So you have this collision of two separate worlds, too.
As always, I'm looking forward to more. A copy of this book was provided to me in exchange for my honest opinion.
his book was funny at times and very sexy. Hunter gets paid to give his customers what they want. Some just want to talk and have someone to listen to them. Hunter is a great listener and it makes him the most wanted escort in Las Vegas. Hunter is also good in bed and has the looks of a Demi-God, what's not to love?
Underneath it all though I think Hunter was just like the rest of us. He wanted someone to care about him, listen to him and more importantly he wanted someone to love him. He manages to keep that buried deep from everyone but the reader.
Grant is a good guy and takes a chance on Hunter because of what he knew of them before when they were in high school together. They forge this relationship they didn't know would work or now because of Hunter's job.
The characters were very well written, even the sub- characters. You get to know them as well and hope to see them in future books. I hope there will be future books. I strongly recommend reading this book. Not sure what else to say without giving something away. Just read the book, you'll love it.
FourStars High priced escort + school teacher = hotness. Grant is a teacher and Hunter is an escort. Hunter saves Grant when his date goes bad in a club. Hunter and Grant go on a date and realize that they have a lot in common and decide to give dating a shot. Hunter tells Grant what he does for a living and Grant tries to deal with it, he really does try, I am not sure I would have been able to. As their relationship grows Hunter can’t help but realize his feelings are getting stronger and if he wants to be with Grant he has to make some changes. Hunter and his fellow escorts are a tight group of friends and after speaking to several of them he makes a choice especially once his job starts affecting Grants job. This book did a good job portraying what Hunter’s life is like and how everything isn’t as flashy and wonderful as it seems. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to others.
I was given this in return for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads.
I've read a number of Andrew Grey's stories and for the most part, they feature wholesome characters, often a little too sweet. When I saw this had a male escort, I had to check it out. He did tackle some deeper subjects and handled them pretty well, if a little simplistically. Also, the escort business he described was a little too glamorous and Hunter was the most wholesome escort character I've ever read. There were a few more sex scenes than typical for Mr. Grey but just as vanilla. That sounds a little negative, I know, but it's the type of character and story mood that he is known for. It still was a little more textured, for lack of a better word. It was more like his cowboy/rodeo stories than like his Bronco's or Workout stories. I will read more in this series.
Basically Hunter and Grant knew each other in high school and are re-connecting again. Hunter doesn’t believe in love and Grant is the optimist. After a little bit of struggle, the couple realizes that Hunter can’t keep his current job and have the relationship he wants with Grant – so they split until it becomes clear that love is more important.
Andrew Grey always delivers solidly in the writing department and he does a nice job here of incorporating back-stories of alcoholism into the current relationship. I liked that Grant was able to identify that the father he knew as a child and the father he knows now are different people and that’s okay.
All you need to do is look at the cover of Andrew Grey's "The Price" and you can kind of discern what the book is all bout. Basically, it is set in Las Vegas and involves a male hustler who meets a teacher (also, incidentally, an old classmate of his from high school) and...well, you can predict the story. I don't really mind that, but this book attempts a little more, and it sort of succeeds. Grey has a good eye for character and dialogue, and I actually felt there's more there here. For my taste, it is still just a tad too pulp-y, but at this point thats a quibble.
I just love everything Andrew writes. He is an amazing story teller, he has such depth of character development, coupled with story flow, it all makes for a great read. Hunter and Grant, the ebb and flow of their relationship and the childhood hurts they must overcome to be together, made me cry as well as giggle as they really find their way to one another. Excellent!!
I had just finished reading a suspenseful series and was happy to find Mr. Grey's new book. I loved it and it was exactly what I needed to read as with all of his stories they are sweet happy light reading that I am hoping will be a series as I fell in love with all of the guys. I especially love Hunter and Grant. Again Mr. Grey took me out of my dreary mood into my happy mood reading this gem while on the beach in Hawaii, thank you.
I was on my way to buy the sequel but thought I should let others know how much I enjoyed this story. I never thought about the escort business in terms of how enticing it is to those who chose to be in it and how easy to close off your heart. This is a story about a man at the top of this industry and a simple school teacher and what a story it was! Read it today, you won't put it down!
