A novella set in the Carly Phillips Dare to Love Kindle World!
Sometimes there's no escaping Destiny...
When Miami Thunder star receiver Jax Elliot fell in love with Destiny Duncan, it felt right. He didn't care that she was a trainer for the Thunder's biggest rivals. Didn't care about his boss or hers, didn't care what the fans or the media thought. Destiny was the best thing to ever happen to him—until he started dropping the ball. Literally. And he was forced to make a choice. The woman he loved. Or the game he loved.
He chose poorly.
Months later, in need of a trainer he can trust, Jax turns to the woman he still wants above all others. Things quickly turn physical—the sex between them more explosive than ever—and the physical quickly becomes emotional. One thing hasn't changed: Jax and Des are still deeply in love. But something else remains the same as well. He still can't catch a damn ball with Destiny in his head.
It'll take a Dare—or three—to help Jax understand it's not about catching every ball...it's about knowing that the woman he loves will always be there to catch him.
Erin Nicholas is the New York Times bestselling author of over sixty sexy contemporary romances. Her stories have been described as toe-curling, enchanting, steamy and fun.
She lives in the Midwest with her husband who only wants to read the sex scenes in her books, her kids who will never read the sex scenes in her books, and family and friends who say they’re shocked by the sex scenes in her books (yeah, right!).
Excellent read!! This one is funny, so so sexy, with a sweet love story at the core. Jax, top wide receiver for the Miami Thunder, and Destiny, ace physical therapist for the Tampa Breakers have a love and chemistry others envy. Problem is, when they are together Jax can't seem to hang on to the football.
Great story and a super fun quick read. I definitely recommend this one!
I've had problems with the author's other works before, but needing a title or an author that began with the letter 'E' for a challenge, I sat down to read this story. It does require you to be somewhat familiar with Carly Phillips' Dare series, but it wasn't a bad little story!
What got me was Jax and Destiny's hatred and indifference to one another. It wasn't so much that it surprised me, what made me not like them so much was how much they tried to hurt one another because of it. It wasn't as enjoyable watching them get their relationship restarted as it could have been, and it marred the story overall for me.
Thankfully, it was a quick little read, but not sure I'd re-read it anytime soon.
I adore football player and Jax Elliot is a man worth taking a look at. He's a man in love with two things. Destiny Duncan and football and when those two things don't mesh well he has to make a choice. He chooses poorly putting football before the love of his life. Now he needs Destiny's help after a hand injury threatens to sideline him. Well okay, there are any number of people who could help him but he wants her. It doesn't take long before he realizes he can't let her go. So he must reconcile his football future with his future with Destiny if he can't figure out how to hold onto a football and Destiny. I love that Jax behaved at times like a typical man. He was flawed. Nothing makes a character more believable than to see their flaws. Destiny is a woman scorned by the man she loved and like most women has to either get over it or learn to forgive.
When I found out that Erin Nicholas…..my all time favorite author….was going to be writing a book for Carly Phillips’ (another favorite author) Dare To Love Kindle World……I was over the moon excited! Erin always writes incredible books and I knew that she would do a fantastic job adding to the Dare series by Carly that I love so much. And boy did I love it!!
There isn’t much I love more than books about hot football players. So, with that said, I knew this was going to be a good one! Jax Elliott felt like he had it all. He was the star receiver for the Miami Thunder NFL team and he was in love with an amazing woman, Destiny. He didn’t care that his fans, teammates or even his boss didn’t like it. Until he realized he couldn’t catch a ball anymore. Catching the ball is why he got paid. It was in his blood. So what had changed? Destiny. Destiny Duncan is a top notch trainer for the Miami Thunder’s rival team. She put her heart on the line and fell head over heels in love with Jax. Everything was perfect. Until it wasn’t. She had her heart broken and it took her months to start putting it back together. Just when she felt like she was doing just that, Jax walked back into her life needing some therapy to recover from an injury that his teammates and boss knew nothing about. Could she really be involved with him without involving her heart?
No spoilers from me. But understand this……….this book is H.O.T. -HOT HOT HOT! These two have chemistry and love unlike anything that I have read. It’s explosive, real and deep! This is a short read, worth every single penny and so good you won’t put it down! You’re going to get a sexy, cocky and sweet NFL player, a tough, loving and in your face girl, private beach side cabanas, flowers, romance and the sexiest/steamiest bathroom scene you’ve ever read!

"A Dare Worth Taking" is a novella written by Erin Nicholas, and it is part of Carly Phillips' Dare to Love Kindle World. It features NFL wide receiver Jax Elliot and trainer Destiny Duncan.
Novellas can go either way for me since they are short stories. You might have too many characters introduced with a storyline that gets confusing, or you can jump in and enjoy the novella because it was written just right. "A Dare Worth Taking" fits the latter. I immediately got hooked and finished it within a day!
Jax and Destiny are on rival teams. They had a hot relationship previously, but when Jax started dropping the football in games, his team, agent, and the media started thinking it had to do with his relationship with Destiny. He loved her, and his attention was always on her. He took his team's advice and reluctantly broke up with her hoping to better his game. But she was never far from his mind.
Fast forward to a couple of months later. Jax got into a fight and has a boxer's fracture. It's not healing as fast as he needs it to be with the upcoming football season approaching. He goes to the best person he knows -- Destiny.
Without giving too much away, you can see how Jax and Destiny fit. They might have been separated for several months, but the chemistry is still there. They are both passionate characters. How will his team react to finding out he's back in a relationship with Destiny? Will his injury get better on time? Will their relationship last despite them being on rival teams?
Erin has written another wonderful story! You will love this couple from the start!
Erin Nicholas stepped into Carly Phillips Dare To Love Kindle World and delivered a great addition to this group of stories!
Jax Elliott, a receiver for the Miami Thunder, is in the position he needs the help of the only woman he's ever loved and the problem with that? He left her high and dry just less than a year before and to make matters worse, his reasons for leaving had nothing to do with how he felt about her. He still loved her as much then as he does now that he needs her help to rehab his broken hand before football season starts.
Destiny Duncan is a therapist for the Tampa Breakers and the woman that loved Jax Elliott more than anything until the day he walked out on her choosing football over her when his game went to crap. Now that he's come back to ask for help, the only way she feels she can help him is to keep it all under wraps and only have a professional relationship.
As the two begin spending time together again, it's clear their physical attraction is as strong as ever. With two weeks to get his hand back to 100%, Destiny decides that they can act on that physical attraction if Jax treats her like all the other women he's been with. He agrees and what Des sees is nothing like the relationship they had before signaling to her that what they had really was special.
Will spending time together and reconnecting remind them of just how much they miss one another and want to be together? Or will football once again steal the only man that Destiny sees herself with?
A Dare Worth Taking is Erin Nicholas’ edition to Carly Philips -Dare To Love Kindle Worlds Novella Series. You meet Destiny or Des Duncan who is an athletic trainer with the Tampa Breakers and Jax who the star receiver for the rival Miami Thunder. The tow of them have an intense past. Des was the first girl that knew the real Jax and didn’t want him just because he was a famous football player, and Des got to see the real Jax away from the camera’s and the field. However their relationship came to an abrupt stop when Jax’s lackluster performance on the field came into question and Des was everyone’s favorite target. Jax has come back to ask Des to help him rehab an injury that he has to keep secret. Des agrees to help but they both realize very quickly that their emotions for each other are just as intense as they have ever been. This story was just that- Intense. The passion and love between Des and Jax can be felt from page 1 and it draws you in like a moth to a flame. This is not your typical Hot and sweet Erin Nicholas Romance either. IT WAS WAY HOTTER!! I am obsessed with Erin’s books and characters because of how well developed they are and she knows how to write fun, adventurous sex scenes. BUT she raised the bar with this one. It’s more explicit than previous works but the same deep connection is still there so none of it felt overdone or out of place. They fit in perfectly into the Dare world Carly created. I can’t wait to pick of the other books in the novella series, but Erin’s was phenomenal.

Love, love, loved it!! Another book to add to the already large stack of fabulous books by Erin Nicholas. I have read all of the books in the Dare to Love series, but it is important to note that you do not have to read them to enjoy any of these books in the Kindle Worlds spin-off of the series. It is fun to see characters play a part in these books though. There are several characters from Carly's books visiting in this book and I loved it! It always amazes me that Erin can make me so attached to the characters in such a short amount of time, but she does all that and more with this book. Jax and Destiny started off a bit rocky for me when she insists that he treat her like he does all the women in his life since her. She tells him to shower her with gifts and extravagant things in an attempt to guard her heart from him. Of course her plan fails, but they are both worried about what will happen when it's time for him to start the season. Their past didn't have a pleasant ending so I was really hoping things would work out better for them this time. Of course Erin would never leave us without a happy ending, but I was very worried about Jax's game play and what would happen if he had to choose again. I'll let you find out for yourself what happens. Make sure to set aside enough time to read this in one sitting because I guarantee you won't be putting it down until the very end!
Jax's has a date with Destiny. A Dare Worth Taking is a new book by Erin Nicolas and part of the Dare Series. I have been following the Dare series with Carly Philipps's characters and was so EXCITED to see one of my favorites authors adding a story. And to add more fun, characters from previous installments appear, hello Ian, Alex and Cole....I missed you.
This one has a football player and a trainer from rival team who met, fell in love and like most romances hit a bump! I was hooked from the first page and could not put it down ( thank god it was a novella, it only kept me up part of the nigh!) and I read it again a few days later.
The premise is a different one, I like that we entered the story after they had already been in together, it was a twist, and now the reader gets to see what happens when one does not get their HEA on the first try. The dialogue is outstanding! I highlighted so many funny lol lines, there is a scene in a car, that had some many of my highlights that my kindle screen was glowing.
Jax is also a sentimental man and has a way of saying stuff that makes you go AH!!!!!!!!!!! "I really liked myself with you"! I loved "the you are the football analogy"! loved it, reread it so many times.........and how can you not love a guy who loves Gilmore girls ! And for fans of Erin Nicholas you will be happy to know that her use of household and food products are represented here as well, (I need to reexamine my shower head).
Another fantastic read from Erin Nicholas and a sexy contribution to the Dare To Love Series! I love football and love books about gorgeous, sexy, muscles and body-to-die-for football players. Let me tell you, Erin brings it with Jax Eliot, as the star receiver for the Miami Thunders pro football team owned by none other than Ian Dare.
Jax is almost more famous for his bad boy player moves off the field than he is for his game winning moves on the field. But when he meets and falls madly in love with Destiny Duncan, a trainer for a rival team, his playboy days are over. Destiny steals his heart, but she seems to have also stolen his moves so for the sake of his career, he walks away. But when he sustains an injury it's all the excuse he needs to run back to the woman he loves and never wants to be without again.
These two were so sweet together. And sexy. And just perfect. Jax and Destiny were head over heels and it was heartbreaking for them to be apart so it was impossible not to root for Jax to get his head on straight and figure out what was really important. That what he wanted and deserved was right there for him to hold on to. Great story. Loved the banter and the way Destiny makes Jax work to get her back in his life. Don't miss this one!!

Eight months ago Destiny Duncan, trainer for the Breakers and Jax Elliot, star receiver for the Thunder, were in love. The problem was, that once they started dating, his game fell apart. Most thought it was because of Destiny. Management of the Thunder told him to make a choice, the love of his life or his career. He chose his career and his playing improved but he was miserable. Now, eight months later, he's got a hand injury that needs some off-the-record rehab and he wants Destiny to be his physical therapist. It's only two weeks until the start of training camp. Will old sparks re-ignite between these two ex-lovers who have never gotten over each other or will the game be more important AGAIN?
This is a highly entertaining, steamy, sexy sports romance! I love it! Jax is one sexy football player and has had some very difficult choices to make. Destiny is amazingly strong to have given up the love of her life for the game. Talk about dedication from both of these characters! I believe her name says it all. I absolutely love the Dare to Love Kindle World. Thank you Erin Nicholas for your awesome contribution to a great Kindle World series.
Erin Nicholas steps into Carly Phillips' Dare to Love Kindle world to bring you A Dare Worth Taking. I'm a big fan of both Carly and Erin so when I heard that Erin was going to be writing a story for Carly's world I was excited to see how it would work out.
Falling in love for the first time threw Jax Elliot way off his game, so much so that he gave up on love to get his performance back out on the field. But as time passed, his feelings for Destiny never faltered. And when a negative comment made about her in his presence leads to him putting his hand through a car window breaking it and requiring a trainer to help get him healed up, he knows just the trainer for the job. Will Destiny help him despite her lingering feelings and what will her bosses think if they discover she's helping the 'enemy' get back to top strength? Can they overcome the obstacles in their way? Can the Dare brothers help Jax see the error of his ways? And after all is said and done can Jax keep hold of the damn ball? Get your copy of 'A Dare Worth Taking' today and find out for yourself.
When Erin Nicholas goes out to play, she plays to win. She certainly scores big with her contribution to Carly Phillips’ DARE TO LOVE Kindle World. A Dare Worth Taking is a fun, passionate romp on & off the field for a sexy, dominant receiver and the sassy sports trainer who heals his injury & recaptures his heart.
Loyal Erin Nicholas fans and readers who love all things DARE will cheer. There is no doubt this is an Erin story played in the DARE world. Erin did a fantastic job weaving some of the Dare family into her story. She captured their personalities perfectly. Throughout, it has those special elements that every Erin Nicholas story has - a touch sweet, a little bit playful, always clever, with lots of delicious passion.
For readers who are new to Erin, DARE or both- you’re in for an absolute treat. This is definitely A Dare Worth Taking.
I loved every minute. For several reasons this will be a favorite that will hold a special place on my bookshelf.

What an awesome story! It's kind of a second chance for Jax Elliot of the Miami Thunder and the woman he loves, Destiny. He's going to have to make some major moves though, after dropping her all because he couldn't hang on to the football when he was dating her. This time around, still hurt, she's making the rules. Erin Nicholas did a fantastic job of writing this and including the Miami Thunder, owner Ian Dare, along with his half brother Alex Dare and wife Madison, both also employed by the Thunder. It was great to get to peek in on them, while Jax is having an important meeting with them. I'm a big fan of Carly Phillips Dare series and this Kindle World book by Erin Nicholas definitely fits right in there with it! I loved it and would recommend it not just to those who like sports romances, but anyone who loves romance.
Another winner for Erin Nicholas with her book, A Dare Worth Taking. I loved Jax and Destiny together who had amazing chemistry and burned up the pages. I really liked when Jax's dominant side came out which was sexy as hell and the obvious love he still had for Destiny despite their time apart just melted my heart. I felt bad for him as he struggled with his insecurities between love and his football career. I really enjoyed Destiny's strength, feistiness, passionate nature and her unwavering love for Jax despite their breakup. The author did a great job with the storytelling and it flowed quite smoothly even as she included other Dare characters from the original series by another author that I have not even read yet. She actually made me want to go and read those other stories as well. I had a blast reading this story and I hope there might be more in the future.

What a fun read! This sexy novella is the story of Jax and Destiny, one time lovers who broke up when Jax's football playing suffered and he was given an ultimatum - the game or the girl. He chose the game, but months later uses some needed physical therapy as an excuse to get Destiny back in his life again. I loved the two of them together - Jax is a strong, determined, bossy man with a sweet side. Destiny may be small in stature but she's big in heart and feistiness. She's not going to let Jax get away with anything this time around. She figures she can sleep with him and keep her heart safe but when it gets right down to it, their lovemaking has a strong emotional component that hasn't gone away. I liked the football scenes which felt very realistic and enjoyed the plot from beginning to end. Great addition to the Dare series! 4 stars.
I have read all of Carly Phillips' Dare books. I've also read a few of the Dare World books written by other authors. I think Erin Nicholas did a fantastic job of writing about these new characters of Destiny and Jax while also staying true to Carly's characters of Ian, Alex, and Madison. Jax and Destiny had a history before Erin's book begins. At that point, Jax chose football over love. The book picks up eight months later when Jax needs Destiny to help recover from a hand injury. The book follows them in their journey on their way back to each other and their happily ever after. I loved this book, love Erin Nicholas, and love all things Dare related! Don't miss out on an opportunity to read this one.
I believe this is the hottest book Erin Nicholas has ever written. The steamy sex scenes added with the emotional scars of the hero make for a dramatic story of loss, love and the journey of realizing you deserve the life you have received.
This is a stand-alone novella that complements Carly Phillips Dare Series. There are no spoilers in this story for any of the Carly Phillips books. If you loved the other Dare books you MUST have this one!
Jason ‘Jax’ Elliot has always been a passionate man. He is a playboy, a media hound and a fantastic football player until Destiny Duncan sidelines him. Jax walks away from Destiny once. But when an injury forces him to seek the beautiful trainer’s assistance, he must face what he wants in life and what is important.

s so excited to read this Erin Nicholas book, this is part of the Kindle World series of Dare to Love by Carly Phillips, but all stories are stand alone books. This book involves Tampa Breaker Football player, Jax and ex trainer of the Breakers, Destiny. They have a past romantic history, but Jax needs a trainer. Two weeks with no strings attached is what was going to happen. Jax has two things important to him, football and Destiny, they both require work, time and energy.
This is one hot book in the romance department. Loved the story of Destiny and Jax and how they reconnected. My favorite line is, I was worried about catching footballs when all I needed was to know that you were going to be there to catch me. I highly recommend this book!
I can't get enough of Erin Nicholas's books so even though I have not read any other books in this series I read I downloaded this to my Kindle right away. How can you not love a book that the main character is a football star!! Jax met Destiny during football season but blames all his bad luck of dropping balls on her so he dumps her. Fast forward a few months and now he needs her to rehab his hand. Will the sparks still fly between them? I hope there will be more of Jax and Destiny in the series. I also can't wait to read more of these books in this series. This was my first one but it won't be the last.
Oh Ian Dare, how I loved the little glimpse of you in this story! Still in control and still so hot! But I digress. Jax is the main man in this smoking hot novella and boy did he bring the heat. The words he used can melt the panties so fast. And the nicknames he gave to Destiny showed his sweet loving side. Major swooning going on for that man. Destiny, I enjoyed her character. She did not take Max's crap but knew she needed and wanted to enjoy that man for a bit longer. They had passion, heart, normalcy and love. A fantastic quick read with an ending just the way I love them. I just wish it was a little longer because I always want more of Erin's men!
I bought this book when it first came out and didn't read it right away and I don't know why because Erin is one of my favorite authors! Boy am I sorry I waited! I loved this story.
Jax Elliot and Destiny "Tiny" Duncan were in a relationship and in love until their relationship made Jax's football career start to go very wrong so he ended things. Fast forward to an injury that he needs help with and he turns to Destiny for that help. She works for a rival football team so it has to be done in secret. Can these two overcome their past and work together? You will have to read to find out and trust me you won't regret it! This book is HOT!
Destiny is a trainer for the Tampa Breakers. Jax is the star receiver for the rival team. Football was her life, she lived and breathed for it. Jax has gotten hurt and needs her help. They also still have feelings for each other but are to proud to admit it. Destiny doesn't like the idea of helping him but Jax is calling in his I.O.U. She is giving him 2 weeks to get him back in shape for his season this year. He falls into a dilemma and needs help from Alex. He figures out what needs to be done but will he be able to stick to the plan or will he fumble with it.
A Dare Worth Taking is the perfect addition to the Dare to Love kindle world set. Jax is a sweet, yet stubborn and alpha, lead. Destiny is now in my top 2 Erin Nicholas heroines list. She's sweet, but knows what she wants, and doesn't settle. The story drew me in immediately, and I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend this to anyone who's looking for a fantastic contemporary football romance read

I love Erin's writing and this novella was no different. This story was fun and light. It was cute how quickly Jax realized he wasn't giving her up again and did what he needed to get her with him on the idea. The sidelines at the football was my favorite part of the book. It was a pivotal point for both characters and really showed how wonderful they are together.
*I received this book free in exchange for an honest review* This was a great hot story! Who cares about superstition or losing football games right? Love comes first? This was a great read! I devoured it! The characters were well written. You could see them trying really hard not to show thier feelings for each other. But it made for a great story. You need to read this story.
