Gah!!! I just finished and my first thought; I really wish I had a time machine so I could go back in time and start this series in the order the author intended because man oh man, book one rocked me, and I wanna start book two again blind this time.
Told in alternating chapters, we have Sebastien and Emery, which I already knew from reading book two something happened with their relationship. But wait up… we have a third narrator, Camille, which blew my mind at the time since I bypassed the synopsis on this one. Love triangles are my weakness. I hate that I love them so much because my nervous system lights sparklers all over my body as the tension of ‘who will end up together’ peaks and dips throughout. Now Camille and Emery are best friends and roommates at Coral Gables University and they basically meet Sebastien at the same time. He, like most men, shows interest in them both, just wanting to see which will take his bait first. Emery is the beta to Camille’s alpha, so she naturally backs down. All us beta’s are shaking our heads cause we all have had friends like Camille who flex their alpha wills over ours. Plus Cam comes from money and Emery and Sebastien don’t. Now Camille isn’t unlikable exactly, she just comes off as a spoiled brat to me, but I wanted her to do good throughout. Emery just seemed more real to me, maybe it’s that I related to her more?
Regardless, you basically get half the book where Sebastien is with each girl, I won’t specify the order, but if reading about your MMC with multiple girls, not at same time, isn’t something you like, I’d pass. But for me it just made it more true to life and showcased hard choices we are all put to test in our lives. I felt for the three of them, and cheered the three of them as well.
There is spice but it’s not too graphic, it’s the tension filled way the author chose her words that make your toes curl reading it. Seb and Cam have rougher sex and what I appreciated about this storyline is that Camille has an epiphany that maybe she likes him to be rough and it’s a symptom of something deeper. Which let’s face it, a lot of our MMC’s and fmc’s use rough sex as a form of therapy.
Some of the issues I had with the writing in book two were nowhere to be found here. I loved it all, pacing, tension and especially the banter between all the mains and side characters. I need book three stat though…

I was fortunate to receive a ARC from the author
What a good read .. I really didn't know what to expect and I have to admit it took me a minute to get into the book but once I did I couldn't put it down. I love all the MMC's and the POV. When I got out the end of the book I didn't want it to end. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. If u decide to read this book, you will not be disappointed

Coral Gables University Hockey: Sebastien and Camille or Emery
Now, I read this out of order, so I had a pretty good idea how it would end, and it was pretty bang on.
Sebastien and Emery’s stroy was pretty much the Sebastien and Camille story… It’s a bit of an emotional hockey romance filled with friendship, difficult choices, and a love triangle that didn't play out the way I expected.
Sebastien decides to put a stop to the physical side of his relationship with Camille so he can focus on hockey. Camille ends things, claiming it's to support his decision, but she seems to move on surprisingly quickly before making a decision that seems to signify her intent to get him back. Their relationship felt more rooted in the physical than an emotional connection, so I never found myself overly invested in them as a couple. In fact, I was frustrated that so much time was devoted to them.
The real heart of the story, for me, was Sebastien and Emery. Their connection developed naturally, and I found myself wanting far more of them together. Just as they finally begin to explore what could be between them, Emery receives the opportunity she's worked so hard for with her schooling, forcing a heartbreaking decision that cuts their time together short.
I was left wishing we'd had more pages devoted to Sebastien and Emery. Their relationship had the emotional depth I was looking for, and they were easily the couple I was rooting for most.
So, I’ve read book two, and I can see that there’s likely going to be some serious angst, OW drama and hopefully a relatively straightforward HEA… But, I doubt it…

⭐ I don't say this lightly…Anastasia Wyeth came out swinging with her debut.
Camille is living under a mountain of pressure. Being the daughter of the university president comes with its own special kind of hell, but between her killer event-planning skills and carefully curated image, she's thriving at Coral Gables University. At least it looks that way from the outside.
Meanwhile, her roommate and biggest supporter, Emery, is tutoring to make ends meet and putting her own dreams on hold so she can build a stable future for her family. Despite their very different college experience, both women are carrying the same burden…living the lives everyone else expects of them. Neither is chasing what they truly want. They are both simply surviving.
Enter Sebastian, an NHL-bound hockey star with a huge chip on his shoulder and everything to prove. At first glance, he seems exactly like the hero you would expect from hockey romance…but Wyeth gives him SO much more depth than that.
And together, these three become entangled in a love triangle that uncovers each of their insecurities while revealing their greatest strengths. The result is a beautiful coming-of-age story about identity, found family, and learning that sometimes the life you're expected to live isn't the one you're meant for.
⭐ I could go on and on, but a few things made this book a standout for me.
First, the character development deserves its own round of applause. You can tell from the very first chapter that Wyeth knows hockey, but what surprised me most was how seriously she takes her characters. In many love triangles, someone inevitably feels underdeveloped or flat-out becomes the villain. That's totally not the case here. Camille and Emery are complicated people with their own agency, dreams, fears, and motivations, making their characters (and friendship) feel authentic instead of manufactured. Every bit of character arc and emotion feels earned because these are real people trying to figure out who they are and what will actually make them happy.
And then there's Sebastian. He manages to be confident and fiercely protective while showcasing a tremendous vulnerability we don't often get from men in sports romance. He's not just easy to swoon over…Wyeth manages to make him easy to root for too!
I also adored the banter and chemistry. Wyeth has an incredible ear for dialogue. I laughed out loud throughout the book, and the friendships gave me that cozy, old-school “Friends” coffee shop feeling where I just wanted to curl up on the couch with these people and stay for a while! Every relationship feels genuine, and because each romance is shaped by the character’s insecurities, the anticipation and emotional payoff feel deeply earned.
Finally, I loved the vivid, hot college setting! Many hockey romances lean into cold arenas and winter vibes, so setting CGU on a tropical college campus surrounded by beaches and Miami nightlife was a stroke of genius. The contrast between the sport and the setting keeps everything fresh… while giving us electric club scenes and some very public (and very sandy) rendezvous.
Between the rich characters, vibrant setting, and an ending that made me DESPERATE for book two, Wyeth has created a world readers will want to return to again and again. My bags are already packed for a return to CGU!

To be honest, I had a lot of trouble getting into the story. I was confused in the first few chapters because so many people and places are named, and I had trouble keeping track. Also, the fact that there are three points of view was confusing at the beginning.
I was expecting a love triangle, but in this book, I feel it is unconventional. There isn't really any competition between the two people interested in the same man, and jealousy isn't really a prominent emotion, or at least not one that's emphasized much.
I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of Camille. She seems a bit selfish to me, and because of her background, everything is handed to her rather easily. Her character is one of the reasons that made it difficult to get into the story. On the other hand, her best friend Emery is endearing, a bit of a nerd, and wants the best for others. It was when she became more present in the story that I really got hooked. I love her character and what she brings to the people around her. I was even suspecting an other love triangle at some point. The story kept getting better until the very end.
The ending leaves us with questions. I can't wait to see what happens next but I definitely have a favorite couple that I hope will make it through in the next book.

This was my first love triangle with POVs from all three people. It was an interesting concept that I hadn't run across in my reading journey thus far. Each character's story was good, and I felt for them because they were each dealing with pretty heavy personal dilemmas. In all honesty, I struggled a bit to get into it at the beginning because I had already formed pretty strong opinions on some of the characters and determined who I was rooting for.
Sebastien's story had the most meat to it. I enjoyed his character development regarding his brother and best friend. It was easy to sympathize with him and root for him. Whereas, with Camille, it was almost like reading someone's villain arc happening in real time. Sweet Emery was trying to survive and chase her dreams.
I think the book highlights that some friendships aren't meant to last, but some can outlast even the toughest of situations. I like the paradox between the girls' friendship and Sebastien's friendship with Beckett. Camille and Emery haven't had that intense test of their friendship (yet), while Sebastien and Beckett have already overcome so much.
I'm still determining if love-triangle romances are for me, but I'm curious to see how the second book in the series plays out.

ARC Read.
Took me about 3 days to finish (with the help of translate 🙂↕️). I think the 3 POVs took a bit away from me getting to know the characters until the second half. At least that’s when I started to become invested. There were a few personal things in each POV that could’ve been elaborated on more. A few parts felt like it was dragging, but the second half of the book was cute. Each main character has a few main attributes that are restated and covered a lot, but I didn’t really know them or feel a connection to any of the characters besides some of the supporting ones until the end.
I have a few grievances through the plot and some writing (my notes on Apple Books felt like wattpad comments). This story is full of sweethearts (I THINK, I can’t even tell you what type of students they are OR what classes they have (in this college based story)) being MESSY in messy situations. I received an advance review copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. That said, I’m still a bit interested to see where the author takes the rest of the series.

In the hockey romance novel Out of Position, Anastasia Wyeth skillfully weaves together the lives of multiple characters as they navigate friendship, family, love, and loyalty both on and off the ice. When complications arise—such as a shared love interest between best friends, or the tensions between love and loyalty among brothers—Wyeth avoids relying on jealousy and unnecessary drama. Instead, her characters display a depth and maturity that make them relatable while highlighting the emotional complexity of close friendships and family relationships. By the end of the book, I found myself rooting for every character and eager to learn more about their journeys. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

If you're looking for sexy, but smart, you've opened the right book. I can always tell when a writer loves their characters and this is absolutely the case here, especially the two male protagonists, Sebastien and Bex. So it's no wonder that the girls at Coral Gables U. fall for them, too. But there are a lot of surprises along the way. If you're thinking, 'how sexy can ice hockey be?' Let me tell you, not only does the writer know her stuff when it comes to hockey, the competition is like foreplay.
With alternating POV's characters, we get inside the heads—and the beds—of these characters. Great fun. Will definitely read on.

It took me a few chapters to really get into this book, but once I did, I couldn't put it down. There are a lot of characters to keep track of, but the author developed each of them so well that it became easier to follow their stories as the book progressed.
The love triangle was especially interesting, particularly because I strongly disliked one of the characters. I always think an author has done a great job when they can make readers feel that invested in a character—whether it's love or dislike. Overall, this was an engaging and well-written book that kept me turning the pages.

ARC review: This was such an enjoyable read. I enjoyed the character development, and the friendships and relationships. The multiple POVs helped give understanding for each character (although it may mean some were more liked than others 🙄) If you like sports romance, I recommend this book. I’m looking forward to the next one in the Coral Gabes University series.

Don’t give up on this one! It takes time to get into. But it’s so well worth it. This was a very slow burn romance, but totally worth the read. The characters were great and I loved seeing things between Emery and Sebastian. It was a little unexpected for me, but I loved how things came together in this story. It’s definitely worth reading.

A Hockey love-triangle?
Don't mind if I do!
Not gonna lie, there are a lot of characters and places mentioned very early on which is hard to keep track of, especially with the multiple POVs. But stick with it, because it is pivotal to the story and makes it a really enjoyable read.
I'm invested in CGU and can't wait to see what next semester brings!

That feeling when you’re not sure how the book is going to go and it’s a slow start but by the end you don’t want it to finish. Thats how I’m feeling right now. Loved the characters and I love a good hockey romance.

We have a book by multiple POV’s. I like getting to into the minds of the characters involved. We see things that we normally wouldn’t see. We get to see where loyalties lie on and off the ice. I enjoyed the characters development through the story. Can’t wait for the next one.

I enjoyed it but at first it was a bit confusing but afterwards oh I ate it up. I couldn’t choose sides in the love triangle!

Out of Position was a hard read for me. But keep with it. Its a slow burn hockey romance. You will be pulling for for these characters till the very end.
