One injured sled dog. One old grudge. One Christmas snowstorm that turns Yukon Valley into a matchmaking minefield.
Reggie Price runs on precision because it keeps Yukon Valley Hospital’s lab humming and his sled dog team on track for the North Pole 500. With the Iditarod qualifier three weeks away, he can’t afford distractions.
Then his lead dog limps into Katz Veterinary Clinic—and bolts straight into Dr. April Katz.
April is all twinkle lights and holiday cheer this Christmas. She’s also juggling a father who thinks responsibility is a love language, a career decision she keeps punting, and the inconvenient fact that Reggie still pushes her buttons.
The town’s matchmaking network declares them a holiday project. A community festival throws them together. And a whiteout strands April at Reggie’s cabin—with a sputtering generator, a crackling fire, and one too-tempting bed.
Then race day comes, and with his dogs’ health and a promise to his brother on the line, Reggie and April must risk the thing they both cling to control.
Steamy small-town Alaska holiday romance. Standalone with HEA.
Award-winning and bestselling author and physician Jillian David quickly writes then slowly edits medical romance, paranormal romance, and romantic suspense books. She loves to use medical situations and characters to drive drama in her books. Her favorite cell is the platelet and her least-favorite organ is the pancreas. She fully believes that curse words, when appropriately deployed during surgery, are hemostatic. Which also explains why no book of hers will ever bleed out...
According to multiple starred reviews, Jillian's books cause sleep deprivation and a drop in productivity, as well as visceral responses from her vivid descriptions -- side effects which might qualify as a breach of her Hippocratic Oath to 'do no harm.'
Here's what readers are saying: - "You will not want to start this book right before bed like I did because you won’t want to go to sleep." - "...a highly original, paranormal, second chance, romantic suspense novel on steroids, and it kept me turning pages until dawn, and it gets 5 bleary-eyed stars from this reader." - "I started this incredible paranormal suspense filled love story and couldn't put it down. I stayed up the entire night reading it." - "Such an awesome read. As soon as I started it, I couldn't put it down. I even stayed home from the gym just to be able to finish this in the same day." - "(T)his author sure knows how to write torture scenes and make you feel the physical abuse the characters are going through!" - "(T)his (writer) can make you twist around in your seat in an effort to not pee yourself from fear." - "Jillian writes incredibly interesting characters in situations that keep you reading late into the night, even if you have to work the next morning." - "Just read the 4-book story (The Cowboys of Copper River series) to the end, started yesterday afternoon! Couldn't put it down, except for 3 hours when I fell asleep early this morning."

First of all, thank you for checking out my books. I’m so glad you’re here!
I heard how much you loved my sled dogs in Book #1 DR. ALASKA, and I thought, hey what if I write an entire book involving even more sled dogs? This book took me a bit out of my medical knowledge zone into veterinary medicine and laboratory science. But, it’s good to have friends who are vets. Also, there’s really nothing quite like being able to walk down the hall of my hospital and chat with the lab techs and lab scientists! :)
My medical romance books are set in challenging rural environments, and showcase medical characters who risk it all to save lives, all while lugging serious baggage that they have to work through if they’re going to find love.
CODE BLUE CHRISTMAS is no exception.
And let's talk about tropes! Do you love tropes? How about: Grumpy versus sunshine Enemies to lovers Holiday romance How about two characters snowed-in together with only one bed? Totally aDORKable sled dogs and a three-legged Chihuahua? (That’s not a trope, but it was really fun to write about dogs!)
