When her best friend dragged her into the part of the city everyone said to stay away from to celebrate her last night of freedom She made the mistake of locking eyes with the silent man in the shadows.
Rahkim Brooks believed in death not love but when his eyes locked with hers, Rahkim made a decision in that moment that she was his. Saroya would walk down the aisle, but not to the man she thought.
That night will change the course of her fate forever.
New genre for me and I must admit, I liking them viggas 🤭!
Rahkim, honestly said what he meant and meant what he said. Ya boy was very controlling and loved hard. He honestly didn’t know how feisty Saroya and he’s met his match if not more. My girl's anger in my opinion was valid. Cause she didn’t ask for this life but has no choice but to accept. Let me say I’m not making no more eye contact when out -lol j/k. Niko though, love her down but I don’t know what it is but it’s something about her. I may be wrong but to me it’s something about her. Time will tell. As for that auntie coming forward - Satori, with her saying all she said, something about to happen and no one is going to be ready once Saroya figures it all out about her bloodline. Now them moments of adult activity, yeah them different 🤭!
Alright, I finally did it and read my 1st paranormal and I have to say a time was had. Honestly I didn't know what to expect but I’ll say I wasn’t disappointed and will read more. As for this ending, yeah I’m ready for book 2!
I’m not sure how I ended up here, but this is quite different from my usual reading material, yet I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it! I can’t wait for the second part!
Sunshine Urban Novels really said let me throw vampires, witches, magic, and a whole lot of chaos into one book. I was hooked because Saroya was just trying to live her life, meanwhile Rahkim had already decided she was HIS. Sir, the way you went about that was definitely questionable! I spent a good portion of this book wanting to fuss at him because Rahkim is arrogant, controlling, and very much used to getting his way. But I can’t lie, the banter between him and Saroya was hilarious. She had no problem giving that man the attitude he deserved, and watching her personality come through more and more was one of my favorite parts.
I really enjoyed watching Saroya adjust to everything being thrown at her because this woman went from clueless to causing CHAOS. The friendships, the supernatural elements, and all the different characters coming in and out kept the story moving. There were definitely moments where I understood why Saroya felt like she was being kept in a cage, because Rahkim has a serious problem with making decisions for everybody, but I also appreciated seeing that there was more to his protectiveness than just wanting to control her. And chile, the man was absolutely not playing when it came to anybody threatening her.
There was SO much happening in this book, and every time I thought I had a handle on what was going on, another piece of Saroya’s story came to light. I liked the mystery surrounding her background and watching her realize that there was a lot more to her than she knew. The supernatural world was probably my favorite part because Sunshine Urban Novels gave me vampires, magic, witches, necromancy, and enough mess to keep me entertained. Rahkim still had me wanting to shake him more than once, but Saroya definitely held her own, and by the end I was ready to see what happens next.
This was a Rated Spice book club selection. WTF?! Before I even discuss the content of the book, the errors were so glaring. I'm not just talking about misspelled words. Literal sentences are unfinished. It was so distracting. I read to enjoy. It's not my job to edit and improve your work.
Now for the book itself. This book feels like the second or third in the series. So much is left out. The author needed to show and not just tell. Fantasy books tend to be longer because they have to establish the world these characters live in. Even if the characters live in a contemporary setting, you still have to establish the characters and situations they find themselves in. This author does none of that. I don't need to know a character's entire life story but characters and places were mentioned as if we the readers are supposed to know who they are and their significance.
I love a toxic MMC but Rahkim is not one of them. I'm not even sure he liked Saroya beyond her physical appearance. This book is not a romance in any form. The characters don't get to know each other at all. She runs away, he punishes her, they argue, and have sex. Then repeat. After her second escape, he locked her in his basement. What part of starvation and sleep deprivation is supposed to be romantic?
The .5 rating is very generous. I could go on and on and on about my other complaints with this book but just thinking about them, exhausts me. I will not be reading the sequel even if it answers the questions from the first book. I will not be reading another book by this author ever.

I went into this book completely blind because I’m already invested in this particular group of books, and let me tell you—I did not see any of this coming.
The vampire aspect? That’s just the tip of the iceberg. What really hooked me was how much deeper the story became. The twists, the history, the logic behind everything, the underlying threats lurking beneath the surface—it was all so much more than I expected.
And can we talk about the mother-in-law? Whew! She might just be the mother-in-law from hell.
This author absolutely snatched my soul and left me hanging. By the time I reached the end, I was desperate for more. That ending had me immediately hoping book two was already waiting for me because I honestly don’t know if I can be patient. Call me a selfish book lover, but I need the next installment now! After that blackout moment, there was no way I was ready for the story to end.
This was a book lover’s dream. Every chapter made me want to keep reading “just one more,” and before I knew it, I was completely invested.
5 out of 5 stars. I’m eagerly looking forward to the next book. Happy reading! 📚✨
This is how I like my dark romance. In the beginning, I was kinda wondering where we were going with this, but BABY, she definitely delivered. Now, this is not your typical kidnapping dark romance story. No, Rahkim didn’t capture Saroya because he loved her. He captured her because he saw and wanted to possess her, control her, and break her until she bends to his will. He is NOT a likable character, but that’s what makes this book so good!
And our girl Saroya? She is no damsel in distress. She’s angry, and rightfully so, but she also can’t fight the bond they share. That dynamic is sickening and thrilling at the same time! 😩🔥 I can’t wait to get my hands on part two!
This Vigga is mean af!! This is not one of those “ohhh, my vampire mate is so sweet” stories. Nope! The title said Snatched and that’s exactly what happened. No discussion, no permission, no say in the matter!
Rahkim, I do not like you. Sir, you looked at this woman one time and decided she was yours. Who authorized this foolishness? You believe in death, not love and now you’re out here making life altering decisions for somebody who didn’t even know she was being watched.
This is giving dark, possessive and absolutely zero concern for consent. I’m not confusing obsession with romance and Rahkim has a lot of work to do before I’m interested in his redemption!

When I say I feel so slighted !!!!!! Is there a part 2 loading up for this ??? There were some major plot holes that I needed to understand, and I didn’t get it! Now Sun know how to write some spice & I enjoyed that part a lot ! But I wanted the PLOT OF THE STORY TO REALLY MAKE SENSE!!!!!!! Like Rahkim has so much left uncovered….like the whole meeting between him and his wife Saroya initially ! Like I really had high hopes because we started off so strong !!!
The cover of me . Read the title saw a grill and was like ..yeahh why not ?! What I did not expect was it being paranormal. Now granted when I went back and REALLY looked at the title it clearly said it .. but hey it happens lol . None the less …… I am truly hooked on this book and authoress!!! Ends in cliffhanger.. definitely invested !!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️🌶️
I really thought this was going to be another unhinged love story, so glad I was wrong! What started out as an unhinged, possessive vampire, has turned into something neither Rahkim nor Saroya expected. Secrets are buried places Saroya didn't expect and now they have to figure out if what is buried will destroy the bound they have built. This was a page turner for sure.
This one is 1 for the books. I would have never guessed what Free was to the underworld. I love me some Nik, best friend for life or after life, lol. Ocean is crazy right along with Kado. I read this one, Rankin scares me and I love him in the same breath. He don't play about Saroya, at least he didn't know about Saroya. I believe Free did... Sure hope it's a pt.2 cause I'm all over it!!!!!!
This book was well written but I don’t like the MMC. He comes across as a mean bully who does whatever to get whatever he wants. The whole no choice imma make you crave me thing comes across as gRapey. I kept reading hoping he would redeem himself but then it ends n a cliffhanger. Idk if you like dark dubious consent then go for it.
So Soroya was planning on marrying her Fiance. Within a short period of time she wakes up confused too Rahkim who she finds out is a Vampire that turned her without her knowledge. I didnt care for the forceful nature of Rahkim he never made me rethink his mean and aggressive character. Forced proximity is great to a certain degree then a cliffhanger just when I though I was getting answers...
Now why tf would you end it like that?? This was definitely a dark bully romance that ate up badly!! Rah might have been mean but he meant it when he said “My Wife”!!! This was also so damn spicy (the clouds scene was my favorite). I will be reading the second book IMMEDIATELY!!
This was filled with some unexpected twists n turns between all these characters but it was a decent ride . Kudos to the author I'll be looking out for the follow-up
DNF @ 41% because I felt like I was dropped off in the middle of the story from the very beginning. The storyline may have some potential but the execution was poor. Also, I don’t like Rahkim. Like at all.
Its Urban, its funny, and it has just the right amount of mystery to keep you asking what's going to happen next. Does she want this, or is it fear, who is she really? ....... The way this book ended will have you waiting for the next installment
