The small visual essay about slightly unpleasant working moment from work on Marvel where he reasons about skin color and still difficult sociocultural context around him.
I checked it on The Nib's site. It was a brief observation that Mr. Wimberly made while working for Marvel. I found it interesting that the history behind the character in question (Melita Garner) had changed from Latina& African-American to Latina & White (according to the editor). I think Mr. Wimberly brings up several good points about African-American's working within the comic book industry. I would recommend anyone to check this out and to critically think about what he is saying. Source: https://thenib.com/lighten-up-4f7f96c...
