Chloe and Kolya are first seen in the previous book Inked in betrayal and this is their story. Chloe tries her everything to make her son safe from various threats upon his existence, a son that is a result after a hot weekend with Kolya. When Kolya finds out he has a son he gets in a protective mode and tries his everything to hide Chloe and his son from any lurking danger. And there are a lot out there.
Chloe at the beginning felt to me like a brat who didn't know what she want. But proceeding further we read her background and the difficult childhood so I changed my mind. She's a strong woman, willing to do everything for her son. But deep inside she wants to feel loved and wanted and someone's priority.
Kolya is unhinged, there's no other word for him. But he's also willing to burn the world down in order to keep safe Chloe and his son, so I don' mind the red flags.
I was between 3.5 to 4 stars for this story and I'll explain why. I love Victoria Paige and her writing. She has written one of my all time favorite books. But this one particularly felt somewhat rushed. I don't know if that's the correct word. It felt like it was a thriller with a dash of romance. Yes everything happened about Chloe and Kolya, but the capture of the romantic element was shaded from all the surrounding drama. And I felt that it didn't do any justice to their story.
Also I think there was so much more going on around in order to prepare the ground for the next books that the central story, Chloe and Kolya, felt weak. I truly believe if it was lengthier, it would have the space to expand more on their relationship in depth.
That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it, just that I would prefer a little bit different. The story had the ability to grip you and the twists? Didn't see that coming. Now I'm really curious who will be in the next book.
I received this arc and this is my honest opinion.

What the hell in the secret society, blood covenant, blood ritual, secret brotherhood nonsense did I just read? 😂

Because honestly, a LOT of this book made absolutely no sense to me. I found the whole secret-society/blood-covenant/brotherhood incredibly confusing, and there were so many things happening that I struggled to keep track of what was actually going on.

I wish I could say that at least Chloe and Nikolai made the confusion worthwhile.

They did not.

I found both of them incredibly bland, and unfortunately, I didn't feel any chemistry between them. Their relationship never really grabbed me, so I wasn't particularly invested in them as a couple or in whatever was supposed to be happening between them.

There were definitely some interesting moments scattered throughout the book that kept me hooked enough to finish it. So it wasn't a bad book.

But was it a book I enjoyed?

Also no.

Honestly, I just got through it.

And sometimes that's the most accurate review you can give. 😂

The second book in this Marriage Ink series did not disappoint! I started this one and read it in hours! The secrets, danger, twists, and mystery had me questioning EVERYTHING. Every time I thought I had it figured out, another twist came along AND the chemistry between these two is pure fire!

Chloe. This girl is strong, independent, and fiercely protective, especially of her baby boy Sebestain. But underneath all those walls is a woman who desperately wants to feel safe, loved, and supported.

Kolya is the dangerous, ruthless Bratva enforcer you expect. But down deep this man has a softer, protective side for this woman and his baby. Watching him discover what it means to love and have a family was EVERYTHING.

Their story starts with a weekend fling that leaves Chloe with two pink lines and a baby. She goes into hiding to protect her son, only to have Kolya show up at her door when she comes out ready to be part of his life. Chloe has no idea if she can trust him, especially after everything she’s been through. Watching her slowly lower the walls she’s spent years building, learn to trust the people around her, and realize she doesn’t have to carry everything alone was SO good. This man was all-in when it came to Chloe and their son. Fiercely loyal, protective, and determined to keep them safe, watching him discover what it meant to have a family and fall for Chloe completely stole my heart. AND the tension, the arguing, the banter, the absolute attraction between these two was pure fire! ❤️‍🔥

Add in the Bratva, the De Lucci family, a growing truce, high-stakes danger, plenty of twists, it will keep you turning the page!

This one had WAY more emotion than I expected, and I loved every second of it! If you’re a fan of mafia romance, secrets, danger, forced proximity, an obsessed and protective MMC, insane tension, and a romance that slowly unfolds, you’ll definitely want this one on your TBR!

I am forever grateful to Victoria Paige and honored to be a member of her arc team!

This book is just incredible. It had an overall darker feel than the rest, but it was so fitting and matched the vibe perfectly. I'm always in awe of how emotional these books get me. I'm so invested in the characters and the rollercoaster hit me hard here. Not me being a sobbing mess at 2am, and then giggling and kicking my feet a few hours later. I was completely absorbed in this book and happily devoured it in one sitting. I'm always in love with the characters, but the plot had me up all night trying to piece everything together. The secret society aspect had me obsessed. As the mystery unravels I am just more and more enthralled, I couldn't put it down.

These Bratva men are built different. I loved watching the change in Kolya as he bonds with Chloe and Sebastian. Progress doesn't happen all at once and that makes it so much more realistic for me. He isn't suddenly the perfect man and you can see how conflicted he is about everything, but the growth is amazing to see. Chloe is no pushover either. She stands on her own and has fought back against the life she has been dealt. Living her life as a single mom with a haunted past and she's still unwilling to let it defeat her. The yearning and tension between these two is electric. I loved every second of it. I love how the flashbacks are weaved into the story. They add so much depth and context at just the right moment.The dual POV is my absolute favorite, I love seeing through both of their perspectives. The mutual longing really draws me in. Then add in a secret baby, forced proximity, and the secret society mystery? I didn't stand a chance.

I honestly can never get enough of Victoria Paige's worlds and characters. There is always something new and exciting waiting and I am obsessed every time. I always want more, just because I love her stories so much. I'm already feral for book three, I know it's going to be another amazing one and I'm so ready for it!

The romance was messy, the family situation was complicated, and the mystery kept getting more interesting the further I got.

Chloe and Kolya had that kind of chemistry where they could be arguing one minute and looking at each other a little too long the next, and I was absolutely here for it. The whole unexpected-family situation gave their relationship so much to work through, and I liked seeing it slowly become something more than either of them expected.

Chloe definitely grew on me as I got to understand more of where she was coming from. She’s spent so much of her life relying on herself, especially when it comes to Sebastian, so watching her slowly let people in felt really meaningful. And Kolya? Completely unhinged, but in the most mafia-romance way possible. His softer side with Chloe and Sebastian was easily my favorite part of him, especially seeing this ruthless man realize just how much his little family mattered to him.

The suspense was also a big part of why I flew through this. I kept thinking I had figured something out, only for another secret or twist to send me in a completely different direction. There’s a lot happening around Chloe and Kolya, but I was especially invested in watching their relationship and this little family take shape through all of it.

Definitely a fun, addictive read with plenty of tension, danger, and emotion.

~~~~
A sincere thank you to Victoria Paige and her Team for the ARC! 🥰📚
I’m so grateful for the early read. As always, all thoughts and opinions are completely my own. ✨
THIS is exactly why I keep coming back to this author.
I’ve read so many of Victoria Paige’s books and every time she manages to throw me straight into another freaking emotional roller coaster. Inked in Devotion was no exception.
Chloe and Kolya? WHEW. 🥵🔥
Their story starts with a weekend of anonymous, no strings attached chemistry… except “no strings attached”wasn't exactly in the universe’s plans. Because after Kolya disappears and Chloe sees him on the news accused of being a serial killer, she does what any reasonable woman would do:
RUN. HIDE. CHANGE HER LIFE. 😂
Except Kolya is back. And then he sees those brilliant blue eyes belonging to Chloe’s baby and realizes…
THAT'S MY SON.
Kolya is possessive, protective, and under all that darkness is a devoted man who loves HARD. Chloe is trying to navigate motherhood, her past, and everything being thrown at her.
The suspense kept me guessing, the twists kept coming, and the family drama had me needing answers immediately. But that’s not all…under the mafia madness, the danger, and the 🔥🔥🔥 chemistry.
This is a story about devotion.
About showing up.
About loving someone through the ugly, complicated, painful parts.
About family and the lengths people will go to protect the people they love.
So babes…if you want a mafia romance that gives you more than just a hot possessive man…
READ THIS.
If you want suspense with so many twists that keep you guessing…
READ THIS.
If you want a MMC who is basically….
“That's my woman. That's my son. Everybody else can figure it out.”
READ. THIS. 🖤
And if you're already a Victoria Paige reader like myself?
Babes you already know. Get the damn book.😂
I enjoyed Inked in Devotion and liked that it picked up right where Inked in Betrayal ended, but unfortunately, this one didn’t hit the same for me. The biggest issue was that the outside thriller plot took center stage, leaving Kolya and Chloe’s romance feeling underdeveloped. I wanted more angst, tension, yearning, and emotional payoff between them, but their relationship moved forward mostly because of external circumstances.
There were some fun moments with returning characters and plenty of setup for future books, but at times this felt more like a bridge to the next stories with a novella-sized romance woven in. I also didn’t get the emotional intensity I usually expect from this author, which is a big reason for my lower rating.
Who knew getting married would be such a hassle and a necessity?!! That scene and chapter were my favourites, my heart was thumping with excitement🤭
Imagine having a weekend fling with a Bratva assassin, then, after some months he appears at your door like,, “Princess, is there something you want to tell me?” ..Gaaaah I was swooning and kicking my feet! THE TENSION!! Was off the charts❤️‍🔥
Kolya, Chloe, and Seb were such a cute and adorable family. Everyone was fawning over Seb including ME!!
One thing about me: i love my mafia reads with chaos and drama, especially when the Chaos unite mafia families connected by arranged marriages, ready to fight as one in war. I'm a sucker for that sh*t, and this book SERVED!
The title makes so much sense after the plot twists and turn of events that I was living for it. The UNRAVELING of the plot is to die for❤️‍🔥
The first 100 pages are tricky. It Starts off hot but kinda slows a bit as it continues because the plot is setting foundation for the book, but after that, I swear the PATIENCE IS WORTH IT!! It gets better and better.
Aaaaaahhh, this book has left me craving more from this series😩 ...Theo & Ara,,Maks & Ophelia(hate f** between them would be phenomenal)I want MORE!
Whoa. This book was so much more than I expected it to be. I love and read lots of Mafia books but this isn’t like any others I’ve read before. It had some deep plots and twists that surprised me in the best way. I absolutely love Chloe and Koyla so much. They have a serious heat between them and lots of is and downs but their ultimate HEA is perfection. The plot overall was really good and I loved all of the characters too. This was my first book by Victoria Page and I throughly enjoyed it and would happily read more!
Danger, Deception, and Devotion!
The word "Devotion" in the title of this book says so much about what the main characters, Kolya and Chloe, need without realizing it’s what they’ve been searching for all their lives. It’s about showing up and loving someone in the good moments as well as the complicated and painful parts of life. It’s going to any lengths to protect the people you love by putting them first. I loved that particular theme in this enticing romantic suspense!
Ms. Paige writes fast-paced stories with high stakes that draw the reader into the many secrets and mysteries in these character’s lives that are hidden within the writer's word wizardry. Intriguing plots, suspense, and romance are interconnected with covert enemies that bombard the main characters with danger at every turn. Descriptive prose bring intense scenes to life and enriches character development. There’s plenty of hot chemistry between the main couple that keeps you turning the pages! Although Chloe and Kolya initially lack the trust to take a chance on one another, evil adversaries that threaten their lives force them to join forces to protect their son. It’s a really tough road while these two try to navigate a wide range of emotions amidst setbacks, intrigue, and family dynamics.
Kolya is a bratva enforcer who was asked to check into Chloe, the secret heiress to a bratva family fortune. When they meet and the sparks fly, they have a one-night stand without giving real names or personal information. Despite that agreement, Kolya can’t forget her. Neither can Chloe since she gets pregnant! When Kolya is eventually reunited with Chloe, he discovers he has an infant son that she’s been hiding once she learned Kolya’s real identity and dangerous reputation. Suddenly these two have to consider what is best for their son, Sebastian. They certainly don't agree on that!
The slow burn between Chloe and Kolya and spicy dialogue builds the anticipation that keeps the reader pulling for them to give in to their fiery attraction. But Chloe’s fears call for caution until she and Kolya have built up trust, especially with her history of feeling second place in her past relationships. Due to his bratva position Kolya never considered marriage, so his loyalty to duty has him demanding that his son be raised in the bratva culture. Chloe wants nothing to do with any bratva training for her son. She counters with court mediation and a custody arrangement! Soon Kolya discovers that he wants to be with Chloe and Seb all the time, but his enforcer training demands loyalty to the bratva first. Unfortunately he is keeping secrets that are very threatening to Chloe and Seb.
While spending time with his son, Kolya discovers that he’s hugely possessive of Chloe. It’s unacceptable that she is considering a marriage broker’s contract as a way to secure safety. Kolya makes it clear she will not be going out with other men! The banter and attraction between them builds until they cave to their desires. This lethal enforcer develops tender feelings he does not recognize. He needs to keep his family safe from an evil secret society that wants his son for their bloodline. Kolya learns how life-affirming it can be to have a family. It starts to mean everything to him as he becomes a protective and loving parent.
Chloe has developed strength, independence, and determination from many lifelong turmoils. She’s overwhelmed by her sudden motherhood and the frustration of the nefarious secrets she knows Kolya is hiding. Even more heartbreaking is Chloe’s signs of postpartum depression that lead to a very frightening crisis for mother and son. I applaud the author for handling the sensitive issue of postpartum struggles. Chloe's anxiety and doubts about not being good enough to raise her son are devastating. When Chloe thinks she could have a mental illness and might be losing her mind, it drives her to despair! The author’s writing made this feel so real that I cried.
Thankfully Kolya steps up as a real hero with compassion and understanding. He shows that he can be relied upon as a loving father and partner and help Chloe through this crisis. She trusts him to figure out what’s happening to her. I was impressed that this tough and dominant guy showed his soft side with his devotion to Chloe and Seb. He promises to help her resolve the cause of her apparent instability, calms her fears, and gets her the help she needs. Chloe begins to see Kolya in a new light and starts to have hope.
Kolya soon realizes that he must reveal the dangerous secrets to Chloe that caused so much resentment. It takes a while for her to get over these disclosures, but Chloe is tired of denying her feelings and need for Kolya’s protection. She finds security and relief in letting herself lean on a person who obviously cares for her. Kolya’s total loyalty to Chloe and Seb is awesome. Their presence brings him peace and wishing for a better future. I was rooting for Chloe to conquer her fears and let down her walls. She learns to rely on Kolya and develops empathy for the past that he feels had put limits on his chance for more in life. I was happy to see love and hope developing.
The many twists in this book had me questioning everything I thought I knew. Ms. Paige’s method of dropping sprinkles of information throughout the story adds more intrigue to the mysteries that unfold. Despite the many obstacles thrown their way, this couple’s growing devotion gives them the courage to stand up to those plotting against them. One part I really enjoyed is when Kolya's bratva soldiers in an armed convoy take a wild high-speed chase down the highways of New York and New Jersey. Enemy mafia factions try to prevent them from reaching their destination to a crucial secret ceremony that could solve the dangers this couple is facing. It leads to crucial answers to some of the story’s unsolved mysteries. We are given illuminating connections that this reader didn’t see coming. It's a high-octane journey as the main characters fight to stay alive, defeat their enemies, and strive for a hopeful future together.
This author has some of the most unique ideas for her books' new couples and antagonists. Diabolical obstacles lead to complex character growth that makes it so compelling to read. Many issues were bubbling beneath the surface for this couple to solve. How they are resolved makes it even more satisfying when the characters reach some inspiring full-circle moments of happiness for their future. I really enjoyed this emotional roller coaster ride and unpredictable suspense-packed thriller from Victoria Paige. Having read all of her books over the years, her growth as a writer is satisfying to watch. I look forward to the next books in the Marriage Ink series!
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving my honest review.
4.25stars- INKED IN DEVOTION is the second instalment in Victoria Paige’s contemporary, adult MARRIAGE INK dark, erotic, Mafia romance series. set in the author’s SCORNED FATE and DELUCCI’S OBSESSION worlds, which in turn are connected to the author’s ROGUE PROTECTORS series. This is Bratva assassin Nikolai ‘Kolya’ Petrov, and single mother / women’s shelter manager Chloe Brown King’s story line. INKED IN DEVOTION can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Kolya and Chloe) INKED IN DEVOTION follows the second chance relationship between our story line couple, a relationship mired in secrets and lies. Approximately eighteen months earlier, an anonymous weekend together left Chloe Brown pregnant, the baby’s father in prison, and our heroine in hiding with the family she knew nothing about. Fast forward to present day, Chloe’s connections to the King Crime Family is about to go public, and with it, the return of the man she hated to love. Desperate to protect her son from the Bratva lifestyle, Chloe struggles to trust is fueled when our heroine becomes the target of an unknown foe.
The world building focuses on the protection of Chloe and her son Sebastian, and the Bratva’s desperate attempts to claim our heroine’s son. From the elite and ruling members to the hidden organizations taking aim, the life of Chloe and her son are threatened at every turn. A secret syndicate wants control but Kolya is determined to protect the family he never wanted. Honor among villains comes into play when Chloe and Kolya’s lives are threatened.
The relationship between Chloe and Kolya is a second chance, of a sort. Chloe was desperate to hide and protect her son from his father and the Bratva lifestyle but her own heritage meant danger followed where ever they go. Kolya never wanted a family-his own bloodline used for Bratva control, and in this, Kolya is determined protect the woman with whom he will fall in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, provocative and intense.
There is a large ensemble cast of familiar, dangerous and charismatic secondary and supporting characters, many of whom we met in the interconnected series and story lines. We are reintroduced to Bratva Pakhan Kirill Zahkarov, and Mafia princess / fixer Lusenka ‘Lucy’ De Lucci; Kirill’s sister Aralina, brother Maksim, and their parents Ivan and Irinia Zahkarova; IT specialist Trevor Hayes; and organized crime members, and Chloe’s extended family Theodore and Jeremiah King. The requisite evil has many faces.
INKED IN DEVOTION is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, dysfunctional family dynamics and abuse, power and control, family and relationships, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is dark, dramatic, gritty and twisted; the characters stubborn, desperate and determined, often brutal in their need for control; the romance is spicy and spirited.
Thank you to Victoria Paige for the ARC♡
I was so excited for this book after reading and
listening to the first book of the Marriage Ink series and l
oving it. The second book did not disappoint. I couldn’t put my kindle down. I started it on the first day and finished it the next. This book was a complete rollercoaster of secrets, unexpected twists, tension, messy emotions, and chemistry that had me addicted from beginning to end.
We follow Chloe and Kolya, who we first met in Inked in Betrayal. In Inked in Devotion, we finally get to dive into the VERY HOT history between these two, which started as a weekend fling and ended with a baby. And let me just say… the chemistry between Chloe and Kolya was UNREAL! The tension was absolutely insane because these two could go from arguing one second to wanting each other the next, and I was eating it UP.
I also really loved watching them navigate parenthood together, especially when Chloe was convinced there had to be some kind of ulterior motive behind Kolya wanting to be involved in everything concerning their son. Watching their relationship slowly evolve while they figured out how to co-parent made their story even more addictive.
And the secret society?! There were SO many moments
where I thought I had everything figured out, only to get
completely blindsided by another twist. Every time I
thought I was finally catching on, I could hear Victoria saying, “Actually…NOPE.”
One of my favorite parts was Chloe’s emotional journey. Seeing her slowly realize that she doesn’t have to carry every burden by herself really got to me. She starts experiencing what it feels like to have people around her that genuinely care for her and support her without expecting anything in return. I especially loved watching her confront her complicated past with the Bratva and the distrust it left behind. After spending so much of her life putting up walls and keeping people at a distance, seeing those walls slowly come down and watching her learn to trust, accept support, and allow herself to be loved was such a beautiful part of her story.
Another of my favorite parts was learning more about Koyla. Kolya had that whole dangerous, jealous mafia-man thing down, but honestly? It was the softer side of him that had me completely gone. The way he constantly showed up for Chloe, protected her, and made sure she never had to face anything alone, that kind of all-in, no-questions-asked loyalty is exactly why I absolutely LOVE mafia romances.
I knew when Kolya took off at the end of the last book, that he was Chloe’s baby daddy and I was SO ready to see this man lose it for his family.
Kolya never stopped thinking about Chloe after their night together, but his duties as a bratva enforcer and certain other mysterious ties, make the idea of a long-term relationship or marriage out of the question. He doesn’t want to endanger Chloe and he’s already told her not to expect marriage from him. It does not set things off on the right foot…
Poor Chloe has her own hangups She hates the Bratva because her Mom feared her ex-husband and moved them around. Chloe also had a relationship with Ivan (former Pakhan) as a child, but he abandoned her. It was a difficult situation between Ivan’s family and his pseudo parent/husband relationship with Chloe and her Mom.
Kolya wants to be there for his son, but not push Chloe too much and also not ignore his bratva duties. Not to mention, Theo trying to protect Chloe and Sebastian too, it’s a hot mess.
There were such good twists and I loved that even though Kolya told himself he couldn’t have that life and was doing the short, monitored visits- he was also stalking Chloe and disappointed when she wasn’t there. It was really cute to watch him unwind without realizing it and that he was pivoting his world around his son and his woman.
Inked in Devotion was fast-paced, nerve-wracking at times (I was worried for Chloe! And actually cried when something happened), and had such a deep love between Chloe and Kolya. Kolya goes from being more detached and hard, to being feral for his little family. The mystery was awesome, the action was great, the romance was swoon worthy and Kolya’s behavior made me laugh out loud at times. Like Ruining every date in Chloe’s marriage contract! Excellent edition to the series and the story definitely furthers some overall mysteries. You won’t be disappointed.
I’m consistently impressed by Victoria’s ability to make each book more and more gripping. Her characters are so vivid, her storylines tie together so well throughout the series, and I’m always left wanting the next one SO bad because she’s just that good.
I’ll start by saying PHEW! This book was intense because of all the surprises. At 57%, I was literally holding my breath. Every time I think I’ve finally figured out how Victoria’s mind works, she proves me wrong by coming up with another unique plot. And with the Secret Society element, which I am an absolute sucker for? I was all here for it!
I really felt for Chloe. She didn’t have an easy childhood, and there were so many moments where I just wanted to hug her, tell her how proud I was of her, and tell her that she deserves all the love in the world. She’s incredibly protective of her son and determined to give him the protection and support she didn’t really have growing up, which made me love her even more.
And then we have Kolya...
Kolya calling Chloe “Princess”? Like, sir... yes, let me be your princess. 🤭 I’ve read plenty of books where the MMC calls his girl princess, but something about Kolya saying it just HIT. It gave me serious butterflies!
But as much as I loved possessive Kolya with Chloe, I think seeing his softer side with Sebastian melted me even more. Whenever Kolya had scenes with his son, I got this little flutter because imagine this dangerous man being so soft and careful with a little baby?? And whenever his inner monologue referred to Sebastian as “my boy”... ahhhh, my ovaries. 🤭 The image itself is just so freaking adorable!
Also, can I just say what a delight it was to have a Daniel Wu cameo?! Literally the perfect reason for me to go reread Scorned Love!
And VP, we need to talk because Chapter 25?! You went all in. 🥵🔥 Loved it so, so much.
Then I got to 87% and found myself holding my breath AGAIN! There was so much action that my mind was basically recreating a Fast & Furious movie, but make it mafia style. 🤣
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I’ve been reading VP’s books for quite a while now, and somehow she still manages to surprise me with her mind and her writing. Just when I think I know where she’s taking the story, she throws something else at me and proves me wrong. It was thrilling, and the suspense really had me in a chokehold!
I recommend this series so much!
Inked in Devotion is the second book in the Marriage Ink series and follows Chloe and Kolya, whom we first met in Inked in Betrayal. After a one-night stand resulted in their son, Sebastian, the two find themselves navigating parenthood, danger, and their complicated feelings for one another.
Chloe is fiercely independent and determined to protect Sebastian from experiencing the kind of childhood she endured. Kolya, meanwhile, is exactly what you'd expect from a Bratva enforcer, unwaveringly protective of both Chloe and Sebastian and willing to eliminate any threat that comes their way.
I have to be honest: Chloe drove me absolutely crazy for a good portion of the book. She constantly seemed torn between what she wanted and often acted in ways that felt erratic and frustrating. However, the more I learned about her past and motivations, the more I understood why she behaved the way she did. Kolya, on the other hand, had me won over from the start. It's a little concerning because he is absolutely a sociopath, but only toward people outside his circle. Apparently, I might be a little unhinged too, because I loved him.
There was no shortage of dramatic chaos, danger, and suspense throughout the story. While I enjoyed the romance, it didn't feel quite as central as I expected. The marriage scene and everything leading up to it were incredibly intense and easily some of my favorite moments in the book.
At times, it felt like a significant amount of groundwork was being laid for future installments, which occasionally pulled the focus away from Chloe and Kolya's relationship. That said, I loved the mystery elements and finished the book with far more questions than answers, especially where Theo, Jeremiah, and several other plot threads are concerned.
One of my favorite aspects of the series is seeing the various families begin to come together and form alliances. It makes the world feel larger and more interconnected, and I can't wait to see where the story goes next.
Overall, Inked in Devotion is a suspenseful and action-packed romance filled with family loyalty, dangerous alliances, intriguing mysteries, and plenty of dramatic twists.
Not going to lie, after the 1st Book in this series, I was hooked and really looking forward to this book - 𝕂𝕆𝕃𝕐𝔸 & ℂℍ𝕃𝕆𝔼'𝕤 story. I'm happy to say it proved to be as good as I hoped.
𝗜𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 was a real emotional rollercoaster for me and has some darker / more serious elements, so if you have any triggers, I'd suggest looking at the author's content warnings. As for me, I enjoyed reading a book where the characters and their lives made me 𝐹𝐸𝐸𝐿.
Now, let me get to the good stuff - the hero, 𝕂𝕆𝕃𝕐𝔸, day-um! He wasn't what I expected. This is a hero that stays true to the darker side of his personality (Bratva enforcer) even while managing to become a swoon-worthy hero. None of that fluffy stuff where he starts off bad then all of a sudden becomes a good guy.   The heroine, ℂℍ𝕃𝕆𝔼, totally broke my heart. Her life & everything she goes through to finally get her HEA, would make even the most hardened person feel something. Noting that she isn't exactly a pushover that folds immediately. A medium burn when it comes to heat but I do feel, with everything else going on in this book, the amount of steamy scenes were sufficient. That said, those scenes were well worth waiting for. 😉
Overall, I feel 𝗜𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is an awesome piece of writing that will appeal to JP Hero lovers, action seekers, Bratva romance readers (or mafia) and someone who enjoys reading with their hearts as well as minds. I highly recommend.
Thank you for the ARC Victoria Paige 💐
My review is vaguely intended. I prefer reading reviews without spoilers. Experiencing the important parts of the plot firsthand is exhilarating.
Let me start off by saying that I couldn’t wait for Koyla and Chloe’s book. The story continues from Inked in Betrayal.
Nothing compares to having an icy blued eye obsessive Russian man as your secret baby daddy. Smh
Koyla is the devil personified … Chole is a woman dealing with serious childhood abandonment issues and childhood trauma.
The tug of war between these two is actually quite amusing. Kolya wanting to protect the woman he loves and his son from his past. Chloe trying to keep both her and her son safe.
I did expect Koyla to be a bit more rough around the edges, considering that he was the bratva’s Grim Reaper and all. Also the spice level was somewhat watered down even with Koyla’s kink, compared to the first book. But that’s just me.
Let get to Margo and the Marriage Ink. Margo is the suavest puppet master if there ever was one. The deepest and darkest secrets that’s hidden in that building is mind boggling . I definitely enjoyed the “street fight” on the way to Marriage Ink tor the signing of the blood covenant.
It was an exciting second installment.
Can’t wait for Theo and Aralina’s book. From what I can gather, Theo is quiet and reserved, keeps his secrets and emotions deeply buried and those are the ones you watch out for. Those are the ones to be excitedly scared of.
Lastly … I’m patiently awaiting the day Mr. Trevor Hayes gets his own book. That man and all the jealous husbands that hate him deserves a little love 🥰
Another thrilling book from Victoria Paige & I'm having one hell of a time reading it.
To give you some premises, we have Chloe and Kolya who were entangled in a weekend of passion which resulted in a surprise pregnancy. When they met, they used fake identity because they were there for different reasons & the last thing they wanted was to attach something from their real life. Chloe kept the pregnancy a secret and was initially seeking protection from the Kings until Kolya found out and decided that what belonged to him should remain so.
The most significant characteristic of her book is the festivities of the characters & the complicated mafia plot. Every character from her previous books play supporting role that reminds us of their position in the universe. By far, her books has the most complex web of mafia scheme which got me thrilled and caught my breath at times because I wouldn't expect what happens next.
Chloe feels like a mystery sometimes. There are times where she's fogged by the past and she draws her walls so high. Meanwhile Kolya is used to an assertive approach which comes as intrusive but much needed because Chloe needs that firm direction. The supposed fling grows into mutual partnership regarding Sebastian's security & future which later grows to affection that's probably always been there, only dormant previously.
For me Chloe and Kolya show good teamwork & chemistry and he's unapologetic with what he wants which is so hot. And I want to thank the author for giving me such pleasure of knowing these characters before its release!
Inked in Devotion, the second book in the Marriage Ink series, follows Kolya, the brata enforcer, and Chloe, a newly discovered half-sister of the King family who have a one-stand that leads to an unexpected pregnancy. Right after, Koyla is wrongfully accused of murder and imprisoned for a year. To protect herself and her baby, Sebastian, Chloe goes into hiding. However, her brother, Theo, discovers her as his half-sister, forcing her to confront her past. As Chloe and Koyla navigate their new reality, they learn to coparent, build trust, and let their defenses down.
Chloe, fiercely independent and strong, has never had anyone to rely on, making her journey even more challenging so when she discovers her new brothers and her baby's dad is a bratva enforcer she struggles to let them in. As Chloe’s family keeps showing up for her, I was thrilled to see her find the family she needed after all. She’s also excellent at forgiving when it benefits her son. Kolya is loyal, protective, and determined to keep them safe. Watching them fall for each other and open their hearts further was perfect.
The romance was beautifully intertwined with a plot filled with secrets, twists, and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. I figured out Chloe’s twist, but I thought the scene of her breakdown was brilliant. It left the reader struggling to understand what was real.
I loved seeing all the old characters and really enjoyed the suspense which kept me engaged. I also liked that it seems like the story will continue into the next book as the reader doesn’t have all the answers yet! I’m so excited for Theo and Aralina’s story! Thank you, Victoria Paige, for letting me be on your ARC team and get to read these stories early!
Totally obsessed! The best book hangover ever!
I absolutely adored Inked in Betrayal, so I honestly wasn't sure if Inked in Devotion could compete with such an all-consuming read. But OMG, I am so happy to say this story completely consumed me in the best way possible! It’s no wonder I stayed up way too late to finish it, and now I have the absolute best book hangover.
Kolya and Chloe’s history is complicated and I loved every second of it. After a year in hiding, Chloe comes back with her son Sebastian, and Kolya knows straight away the boy is his. He is more than ready to claim his son and give him full Bratva protection, but Chloe isn’t having any of it! She has made other plans to keep them safe—plans that definitely don’t include Kolya or the Bratva.
The character development was just SO GOOD. Watching Chloe slowly lower her walls and realise she can actually trust the people around her instead of doing everything herself was amazing. And Kolya? He was all in when it came to Chloe and Seb. I loved how fiery, loyal, and protective he was, and how determined he was to keep them safe. Watching him discover what it means to have a family and fall for Chloe was pure perfection.
The dynamic between them was everything. The underlying tension, the arguing, the banter... and don’t even get me started on the chemistry. It was pure fire, and I was so there for every single moment of it! Throw in Kirill, Lucy, the De Lucci family, and the growing truce, plus secret societies, high stakes, underlying suspense, and crazy twists, and this book is a total masterpiece. Couldn’t put it down!
My thanks to TAA for my copy of Inked in Devotion. All thoughts expressed are my own. 😊
thank you so much victoria paige for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
the marriage ink is become one of my new favorite mafia series. the relationships, found family, mafia dealings are so entertaining.
i understood chloe anger towards ivan because she felt like he abandoned her which in a sense he kind of did but it was more to it than that he chose his wife and to work through their grief over being a father figure to chloe and once chloe learned the truth of it and put her self in his situation she understood as a parent. the conversation between chloe, irina and ivan was long overdue and healed everyone involved because they were able to get closure on years long grief.
chloe opening up a women’s shelter to give women the help and support her and her mother didn’t have was so empowering. i love the fact the they offered to help women continue their education and even offered scholarships.
im hoping the next book is aralina and theo’s story. arlina is so interesting as an fmc and i can’t wait to learn what caused the events of her losing her voice and if she will be able to remember them, i also feel like she’ll make a great wife for theo once he stops avoiding her. her and gage bonding over a bird was so cute to see.
Wow, Victoria Paige has knocked it out of the park again! This book, the second in the Marriage Ink series, picks up right where the first one ended. Non stop intrigue, suspense and heat.
Chloe and Kolya had participated in a one night stand over a year prior (right before he wound up jailed for being the Mistress killer”, a serial killer that preyed on the mistresses of wealthy influential men). His conviction was overturned and he was set free but by then Chloe had discovered she was pregnant and that her baby’s father was believed to be a serial killer so she had not let him know about Sebastian. When Kolya finds out he has a son he is all in, provided Chloe accepts the Bratva.
The chemistry between the two of them is still as potent as it was that first night but Chloe is afraid of everything that being involved with the Bratva entails. She accepts her place with her wealthy family and she and Kolya try to find a compromise where the baby is concerned, in spite of their attraction.
Twists, turns and suspense kept this reader up into the night, finishing around 2am. Now I’m sad they it’s over, and waiting for the next chapter in Marriage Ink.
Thank you Victoria Paige for the ARC, I appreciate the opportunity to read your stories early even though I always pre order a copy as well
I was completely sat start to finish. This series could be a standalone but, like, why wouldn’t you want to read more? I was devouring every chapter.
Chloe is a force to be reckoned with. Previously a single mother, raising a baby, trying to avoid all connections and titles within her family. Koyla is the brutal bratva enforcer, recently released from prison, and shows up at her door. A son that changes everything, that brings two people back together, unwillingly at first. Chloe has built up walls so high and Kolya is hiding behind lies and secrets.
Everything about this book is high stakes, intense action and a little spicy, probably a 2.5/5. There’s so much plot within, uncovering the lies like it’s a mystery. The writing is fantastic, as always. The dialogue is fresh and witty and the characters are relatable.
Victoria handled sensitive subjects with great care so if you need a trigger warning, read them before. I’m glad that stories like this are being written to show characters emotions and true selves, what makes them who they are.
After reading this, I definitely asked my husband if he would jump off a cliff to save me.
Sooo imagine.. your weekend of pleasure results in a bun in the oven and your baby daddy not who he said he was plus he is behind bars shortly after..
Add in a serious connection to some Mafia, Bratva and a serial killer….
Might not be the best headspace of the century.
You will have to forgive a girl for not seeing the Alpha Male right infront of her….
She is literally spinning trying to stay afloat and to do what she thinks is best for them but fear is not always the most realistic of motivators.
This HEA is hard fought and won…
Firstly just to be together..
Then to stay alive.
Not a sunshine and roses Romance.
Id advice reading the first books in the series to get the bigger picture but if you didnt its ok.
(but it will be a richer reading experience that way xxx )
Chloe a sweet hideaway child (related to dynasty)
Kolya the Bratva Enforcer (related to an ancient secret assassin organisation)
***When she h i des her pregnancy , and then son from the Bratva Enforcer.. And he finds them :***
***“Princess, is there something you want to tell me?” Sebastian’s father.***
This was the most perfect second book in the Marriage Ink series! I loved Inked in Betrayal so much, but I loved Inked in Devotion even more! It was so good to finally read Chloe’s story. The start of the book throws you right into the story, and I really loved all the action and suspense!
I loved the character growth in this book! Kolya appears to be nothing but a ruthless killer, trained to kill, but when he finds out he has a son, we get to see a completely different side of him. Chloe is fiercely protective of her boy, but we also get to see her transform into a woman who just wants to feel safe and protected, and who really makes an effort to learn to trust Kolya. I loved watching them find their way to each other and fall in love.
I couldn’t put this book down. I devoured it! I loved every twist and turn, every plot twist, every smutty scene. I simply couldn’t get enough of it! I really hope we get to read Theo and Jeremiah’s stories next!
RECIEVED ADVANCED READING COPY FROM AUTHOR
I absolutely devoured this book within 48 hours and it is just incredible. The overall vibe of the book is a little darker than the previous book .
the darker psychological mystery turn was sooo good I was practically devouring that part of the book like I haven't had a meal.
this is hands down one of the best mafia romance with psychological mystery elements I've ever read and it is fitting the vibe perfectly.
I was so invested in the characters and their emotions and had the best rollercoaster ride with this one ✨
I was happy that the growth between the characters doesn't happen in a whim , but they have an entire arc with ups and downs, that progression was natural and more realistic.
I have always loved Victoria Paige's work and how organic and natural she keeps the plot with best plot twists. ❤️
Wow, just WOW!!!!
This book had me at the edge of my seat!
I love Chloe and Kola's story. Add in the big bad ass bratva enforcer being melted into a puddle when he meets his son Sebastian, and I was swooning.
Chloe has had it rough going her whole life, but it made her into a strong woman. The best person to stand by Kola's side. She is not easily pushed around, but also has moments of weakness too. Her mom guilt really was emotional. It made me love her so much for how hard she fought her demons and guilt to be the best mother.
Kola has one dark past and because of that looks at his son and what his future might look like so different. I love how obsessed he is with his little family and how hard he fights to make them his.
There were so many twists and turns in this book and I was suspicious of EVERYONE!
I’m at a loss for words because I loved this book so much. I have been at the edge of my seat ready to read these characters since Inked in Betrayal. I knew that I’d love this book but I can’t even put into works how it went beyond my expectations.
Not only Koyla’s love for Chloe, but the backstory that we get for both characters which helped develop and show how much they had to fight to get their HEA was just top tier.
I love a solid romance with all the spice, but sometimes it’s so nice to just read about the characters and their story. About how they became who they are. Did I want to throat punch Chloe at times? Yes, but I felt like she needed to be that girl to become the woman and mother that she is. This was definitely a bit different form all of Victoria Paige’s other works but it really think it set a great tone for how the series will continue.
This book had me hooked from the very beginning and I enjoyed the banter between the two characters and the love and passion between them that was still present.
I thought I fell for a man sent to kill me, so I kept a secret from him.
We were flawed from the start.
A weekend of hot sex.
He vanished from my bed, but he left a part of him with me.
Then I saw his arrest on the news—an accused serial killer.
So I ran and hid.
Over a year later, he’s a free man, absolved of his crimes.
Still a deadly man—the bratva’s vicious enforcer.
I’ll embrace my legacy before I tell him my secret.
A reluctant heiress entering a covenant for an arranged marriage that would protect me from him.
But he shows up at my door, and the moment he sees my baby’s brilliant blue eyes, he knows he has a son.
