K.A. M’Lady lives a few stone throws from corn fields, chaos and congestion; all lying on the outskirts of the many burbs of Chicago. She spends her days calculating life expectancies, mortality and the certainty of death and taxes while in her free time the dead wander freely, buy shoes, homes, the occasional odd business or two and, if you even think of charging them too much in taxes…well, let’s just say the tax man may never come back. But if he does he might just shamble a bit.

Her work has been described as scary, descriptive, beautiful, dark, frightening, addictive, sexy and believable. She loves to read paranormal romances, watch horror movies, westerns on Sundays with her husband, play fetch with her pocket beagle, Chevy and buy weird shoes. Her friends call her eccentric, her family refuses to comment.

Gararic lived in the land of the Setting Moon. After his fathers death he was next in line as a leader. Gararic's cousin Gorlefd wants that position and will do anything to get it. Even make deals with the Black Witch Dianaria. As Gararic sets off to climb the mountain to kill the witch, Gorlefd sets off to put his plan in motion. Neither of them expected things to go the way they did.

Dianaria is the dreamwalker, she knows what her fate is. Gararic, is dealing with the death of his father, which he knows was murder and trying to find out who is being disloyal to the clan. Gorlefd is the evil one and thinks he can get away with what he has planned. But the gods have other ideas.

Enjoyed the story. Good overcoming evil with some romance thrown in. For such a short book there are a lot of twists and turns that you really don't see coming. The characters have depth to them and Gararic is the type you can fall in love with in a short period of time.

First time reading from this author. I enjoyed the way she tells her story. Great characters. All in all, I really enjoyed this short read. I'll be back to read more from her.
