Reclaiming His Heart: MM Short Romance

Rate this book
Two men. A marriage of convenience. A reunion at the edge of the world.

Daniel
After getting my heart broken, I ran away to the farthest corner of the planet—a remote Antarctic research station.

No one knows my secret. They just know I study the effects of prolonged isolation on humans.

For four years, I have been perfectly functional. Until one day he showed up at my clinic door. The man I married to save his life and then never saw again.

The same one whose smile shuts down my prefrontal cortex.

Reed
I fly planes into danger. Chasing the thrill is in my blood.

There is only one man in the world who gives me the same thrill—my husband. The night he married me, he saved my life and stole my heart, but we never saw each other again. I've spent the past four years with a hole in my heart in the shape of him.

I would go to the end of the world to find him. So I did. On a wing and a prayer.

Am I too late, or will the universe give me a second chance at reclaiming his heart?

Tropes:

Only One Chopper
Daredevil Pilot x Loner Doctor
Marriage of Convenience
Husbands On A Mission
Opposites Attract: Analytical, pragmatic researcher x Macho adrenaline junkie

I write MM romance about nerdy men and stoic protectors, because someone has to root for the quiet ones.

I just finished Reclaiming His Heart, and I absolutely loved it!
This short story is such a fantastic, punchy read. What I really loved most was the connection between Daniel and Reed—their story was just wonderful.
What I also appreciated is that even though it’s part of a series, it works perfectly as a standalone; you can jump right into this story without needing to read the previous installment to follow along. Wade has delivered another job well done with this one. If you’re looking for a quick, satisfying story to pick up, I highly recommend this!

Thank you for letting this be the very first free ARC I've ever received!

Normally, with books under 100 pages, I find it's hard to relate to the characters and actually feel involved in their life. I had no problem with this book. You can tell the author put an enormous amount of research, time, and planning into this to make it as accurate as possible, and I truly appreciate that. It made me feel like I was actually a scientist on their journey. I loved how fluffy this book was while also having a sense of danger attached to it. Multiple moments in this book had me screeching with excitement because it was so adorable. I had such a fun time reading this book, and will definitely be reading more of this author's work in the future!! Thank you again!

Ekkk!!! Im so glad I got approved for the ARC.

Daniel and Reed were a great match. The book may be short but the emotions are so well written.

My heart stopped when Reed said.

“The doctor is married.” ……. “To me.” ekkk!

The pining and tension were always simmering on the surface. 4 years of searching finally paid off!

Of all of Wade Hart’s Antarctica shorts, ‘Reclaiming His Heart’ is probably one of the more compelling and entertaining ones that I’ve gone through.

Both Daniel and Reed have an intriguing backstory that started in a war zone. The sudden marriage of convenience that they found themselves in was left in limbo during that time and while it was an event had impacted the both of them greatly, neither really had the chance to build on it in the years after because of intervening circumstances.

Wade Hart however, resolved these misunderstandings fast while throwing in some rather unbelievable Antarctica penguin-related feats at the same time. As much as I’d loved for this to have been a longer, full-length version, I can’t deny it’s an easy read akin to an intermission break for a welcome dose of escapism before you heave a sigh and then move on.

I have loved this author's entire series so far and this one is not different. At the end of "Romancing the Ice", we discover that Daniel is married. Daniel's husband is a gorgeous Australian named Reed who is a pilot and they met during their time in the military. When they were in the military they got married however when they got out of the military Daniel disappeared. For a few years Reed looked for Daniel until finding one day at the research facility he was at. What I love about this book is the fact that you could feel the love they had for one another coming off the page they may have been separated over a period of time but you cannot tell. Reclaiming His Heart is a must read and if you haven't discovered Wade Hart yet you need to. If I could I would give this 10 stars I cannot wait to read the next in the series.

In a world where writers are writing romance books over 600 pages, it was a DELIGHT to read something so short and sweet. This novella really got right to the plot, and I appreciated that. I enjoyed the relationship between the two MMC and would happily read an entire other novella showing their time in the special forces.

I admittedly haven't read the two previous installments of the Polar Love stories, but I'm eager to check them out.

This was short, sweet, and sexy, and I've got to give Hart credit for fitting it so neatly into 100 pages.

I'm glad I saw Hart's TikTok asking for ARC readers and grateful to the team at BookSirens for providing this advanced copy.

I read this as a stand-alone, not as part of the series. Daniel and Reed got married so the evacuation team rescuing Americans would include Aussie Reed and Daniel's spouse. When Daniel couldn't find Reed when returned to the US, he assumed Reed didn't actually want to be married to him and left to work at an Antarctic station. The story begins four years later. It's a fun, chaotic story about them becoming reacquainted and rescuing penguins.

Definitely an interesting way to start a book. I really wish this would’ve been a full-length novel because I feel like it had so much potential for more depth and detail, especially when it came to the characters’ backgrounds. It definitely wasn’t a bad story by any means it just felt like it needed a little more. That being said, I still really enjoyed it. I loved all the little penguin details, and the story wrapped up really nicely in the end. It’s a cute reconnecting love story with just the right amount of humor mixed in, and overall I’d give it about 4.5 stars.

Ridiculous in the best way. This novella was a quick little romp thru the polar romance heroics of our MMCs. Tropes…check.
Impossible to solve problems, solved…check.
Little bit of spice…check. Nerdy science stuff…check. Commando in a flight suit, emergency wildlife rescue, in air, helicopter hand job…check!

Not technically a stand alone, but functions just fine as one. A decent palate cleanser for when you’re trying to figure out what to read next.

I love this series; I have read all the books so far. This one is about the doctor and his husband reuniting. They have been separated for 4 years, both missing each other. You don’t have to read the other books in the series, but it does add to the experience if you do.

This was a good and quick read. The setting is interesting and the characters are likeable. I think this should’ve been a longer book considering the plot and the number of characters. Sometimes it felt flat and kinda rushed especially the love story. Still this was a good book to read in one sitting, would recommend.

I'm voluntarily leaving a review after receiving a free copy. I'm glad Reed found Daniel and they were able to clear up the misunderstanding. They truly loved each other. I liked the rescue operation. I can understand how Reed feels about needles.

**ARC generously received from the author**

So this is my first book by this author and will definitely NOT be the last.

I am a sucker for second chance romances with lots of pining and this book delivered!

It was short, sweet and funny! I fell in love with an adorably dramatic Daniel on the first page and I knew i'd have a great time!

Daniel hasn't seen his estranged husband in 4 years and 4 months (but who's counting) and the last place he expected to find him was on an Antarctica research station.

From the mystery of their separation, the pining and heat between both these adorable idiots, to the misunderstandings, the hilarious bestie, questionable cockpit ethics 👀 and one chaotic penguin situation, i was hooked!
I need more of Reed and Daniel already!
