i normally wont post my review if i feel it is lower then 2 stars, however, i feel people need to be warned about this one. Not only does the first few chapters sound soo much like another author's book, but the editing is absolutely terrible!! the book reads flat, like stereo instructions as well. very bummed because it sounded like it would be a great book(besides the errors in the blurb)

Zoey Porter wants out of a bad relationship, but every time she tries her boyfriend escalates with threats and more abuse. It all changes in one night when he leaves her for dead on the side of the road.
Hanger, President of the Satan's Sinners, doesn't cower to anyone and he certainly doesn't form any attachments to anyone but his crew. The woman come and go, he takes what he wants and doesn't care if they get off in return. He is a jerk and he knows it. When he finds Zoey, for the first time he feels a protective instinct towards a woman. Deciding he just needs to make sure she is healed before lettting her go, he makes a vow to take care of the scum that did this to her.
He doesn't expect to fall for the firecracker though, she is an anomaly. She quickly becomes his crazy girl and he decides she is perfect material for his old lady. However one of the club whores still has Hanger in her sights and Zoey's ex is still lurking around.
Very entertaining. There were a couple of things that did not make much sense to me though and left me with questions once book finished. Had a twist I did not see coming. Would definitely check out more in series, loved Hanger.

City Lights is the first and exciting new series by a new author who is surely going to catch your attention with this book about Hanger and Zoey.
Zoey is a twin, her sister and her were born identical in everyway with one thing different. Zoey can hear and Ever cannot. It was a heartbreak for her parents but they recovered easily and learned ASL so Zoey grew up signing and speaking. She loved her twin but when she met her highschool boyfriend Andrew. He was sweet and showed her attention in ways she had always wanted. Ever hated him immediately and it caused tension with the sisters. Andrew and Zoey stayed together for six years. Within that six years Andrew over time left the sweet boyfriend behind and became mentally, emotionally and physically abusive. The start of the book shows Zoey and Andrew going on a date. At the end of the date Andrew loses control and beats her nearly to death in the truck on the way home from their dinner. (won't tell you why, you have to read the book) He leaves her on the side of the road to be found dead by someone.
Hanger leaving a meeting with another MC and a few of his men are traveling down the same road Andrew had dropped Zoey on for her impending death. Hanger noticing immediately that a shape on the side of the road was unlike anything he has seen pulls over and goes to the form. He and Gunner decide to take her back to the compound not knowing if it is safe to take her to a hospital or not. During her recovery while she is unconscious something about Zoey calls to Hanger. When Zoey wakes not knowing if she is with friend or foe starts getting nervous until Hanger starts speaking to her. Something in his voice calms her and makes her feel safe.
As the recovery proceeds Zoey opens up to Hanger and tells her all about her and Andrew from the first day she met him.
This is an amazing story of love, MC troubles, saving Zoey and revenging her. It is intense and very dramatic and definately keeps your attention. Colbie Kay is one to be keeping your eye out for, she is going places and I am looking forward to see where this series goes.
I am giving Colbie 5 stars due to her being a new author and her amazing ability of story telling and I would recommend this new author to everyone who is interested in reaching out and giving a new author some love!

Gifted a copy for an honest review. This is a debut by Colbie Kay. Colbie Kay will keep you on the edge of your seat with action, drama, pain, healing and love. Zoey "crazy girl" may start off as a victim but when the healing begins the fire erupts inside her. She has all the characteristics of a fireball survivor. Hanger, the alpha of alphas, is sexy, hardcore and has a soft caring heart once the exterior is broken and the freedom can begin. Zoey and Hanger work well together. There is plenty of chemistry and heat between these two. The side characters are developed to where you want to know more of their stories. Colbie Kay pulls you in and gives you characters that you will fall in love with and cheer for all the way through. Sometimes we go through storms and we may have a bumpy path but in the end it is where we find the healing we need. We don't know who or what will bring us the peace and healing. We just need to learn how to accept it. Can Hanger and Zoey save each other? I am looking forward to more.

New Author
The book started off really good to me but kind of went downhill from there. The story was good but didn't flow that well. It seemed a little rushed the closer the end of the book came. Not enough was written about topics such as payback to the Italians for stealing the club's business and shooting up the clubhouse. During the whole book Hangar,was always meeting with other clubs about this. All of a sudden it's over but there is no explanation about what went down. Also the VP of the club got arrested for guns....no explanation. I think the author needs to concentrate more on the details of the story and not so much on the sex. I like sex scenes too but there was more of that and not enough of a story to the book. Congratulations to the author on her first book.

This was a really good book. It had action, romance, betrayal, drama, secrets and great sex! Zoey was great. She went from a victim to a badass survivor. She was a riot and knew how to have a great time. Hanger went from a jerk to a loving jerk. LOL. He was great for her. Loved the secondary characters. Can't wait to read Jacey and Bear's story. That is sure to be a fun! Hope to hear more about Chatty too! I didn't notice too many spelling errors. All in all a good read.

Started reading her book and couldn't put it down. You build a relationship with the characters while reading. Also has some really hot heated moments!!! Excellent read I would recommend to anyone to read her book!! Can't wait for your next book!!!

Zoey is an abused woman who finds love with Hanger the Prez of Satan's Sinners. So the storyline is good it is a bit of instant love, but the story happens over a year or two rather than a week. The characters are well written and you will connect to their pain.

One night Hanger, President of Satan's Sinners MC finds Zoey beaten up and laying on the side of the road. Hanger takes her under his wing and decides to do anything to protect her. What starts as a woman needing his protection turns into more than her ever knew. I liked this story and it was my first read by this author. I definitely will be continuing on with this series. Very likable characters that I love finding more about. MC Romance is my favorite genre and this book is the start of a series that I want to read and would recommend to anyone who loves a good story.

I didn't love it, and I didn't hate it. What I didn't like was all the time jumping, which meant alot of stuff was missed out, which really just drove me crazy.
And speaking of crazy I understand with MC romances you get a roadname/nickname, but I really did hate Zoeys
I did like the book just didn't love it which is a little disappointing because I do love MC Romances

With the boom of MC related books, you don't often find one that stands out. Kay's book, City Lights, stands out as a fantastic kickoff to the series. When most books, in this genre, either have too much sex or violence, Kay is able to find a happy medium.
Zoey is more than expected. Having come out of a violent relationship, you would expect her to be timid. Instead she shoots out with gusto and toughness. I admire her tenacity. She's not written as a character who is intimidating but one who is likable.
Hanger is a hardcore MC president. He never expected to find love. His character is emotional yet tough. He is the epitome of a MC president but has a softer side that is see with Zoey and her family. I love his character, especially after he learns sign language to communicate with Zoey's sister.
All of the characters work well together to help create this atmosphere. The only thing I have to say about them is that I wanted to know more about Ever and Writer and Bear and Jacey. I felt that their story-lines were not as developed as the others. I hope that we get more information on them in the future.

This was a great debut novel. I've read loads of MC stories that over time they all mesh in to one, so when you find one where the synopsis is different and sounds interesting then I no I need to give it a try.
I loved that the plot was fast paced, but informative, no gaps in the information or story and that I could relate and build a relationship with the characters fast and easy, but light.
Once I started reading the book I couldn't put it down and I stayed up all night reading it until the very end. Once I'd finished the book I wanted the next book straight away.
There was a few questions left in the story at the end which I was desperate to have answered but the intrigue will definitely make me want to get the next book as I want to know the answers and badly.
Hanger may seem a bad ass who doesn't care about anybody except his Satan sinners but deep down he is a really great character and guy. When a random stranger needed help he went to her and her nursed her back to health when he didn't need to. He did everything he could to make her better and that in itself showed what a great guy he was, but it also built a connection between the Zoe and Hanger.
Things are not easy riding for the couple and there's lots of drama,angst and action along the wall to keep you gripped.
This was a great debut.
Looking forward to finding out more answers in the future.

On the way back from a meeting with his MC, Hanger sees something on the side of the road and when he pulls over it's a woman. He takes her back to the clubhouse and literally doesn't leave her side until she is nursed back to health. He sings to her and plays the guitar for her while she is recovering.
When Zoe finally wakes up there is that instant connection between the two. He saved her, but she also saved him.
Zoe's ex is in the wind Hanger's "ex..screw" is jealous, but they both have a great support system. She has her family and he has his brothers (who all love Zoe). There is no happily ever after without bumps first though, and Zoe and Hanger have some dramatic ones.

I could NOT put this book down, I woke up extra early for work to read, read at work...it was just that addicting. Hanger is the dream alpha male, strong, sexy and possessive.
It's a fast paced story, but easy to follow and you can't help but feel you're actually living it as you read. I cannot wait until the second one to come out! Although there was no cliff hanger in the love story of Zoey and Hanger, you can't help but wonder about the other people you meet! Let's fast forward to August for my pre-ordered book!!!!

This was a nice read with no cheating and not a lot of drama with club whores! We don't see that too much in an MC read, and that's what I really liked about it. Zoey comes from an abusive relationship that started when she was 16. Hanger finds her on the side of the road left for dead and falls for her. There really is no drama between the H/h. There is a little drama within the club and with Zoey's friend Jacey but other than that most of this was the romance between the two main characters. I really can't wait for Bear's story!

Great mc book!!
Wow I really enjoyed reading Crazy Girl and Hangers story!!! It was sad to read all the stuff Zoey had to endure but Hanger saved her in more ways than one and I love him for it!!! This book has some tough content to read but was very real subject matter but had some funny stuff and hot and sexy stuff!!!

This book was a very good read. Some of the content at the beginning might be hard for some readers to read as it deals with abuse. Zoeys story is a emotional roller coaster ride as she finds her HEA with Hanger. rated very good

Page Turner
Great characters and some great action seems with some torture thrown in. But all in all a great love story about a girl who went through a lot of bad shit and came back stronger. A president of a motorcycle club who is sexual shell a bad ass and a romanticism.

I had a hard time getting through this book, the story was very good. but it needs a proof reader, seriously. the dialog between the characters is stilted , not like you really talk but more like your writing an essay for your college English lit class.

It was good....
I liked it a lot more than I thought I would . I was not very hopeful with some of the reviews I read first. I was very suprised. I can't wait for Jacey and Bear.
