Phaedra phaedra Phaedra

I would have never knew about this book had it not been for the fourth episode of the housewives reunion. Kandi made reference to it. I watched that episode again to get author's name then went Amazon and BAMB got book on my kindle. Phaedra said on the show that this book was not out there for purchase, but Kandi was right it was. A MUST READ!

“Lies of a Real Housewife” chronicles the life of Angela Stanton. Through rapes, family life, arrests, and finally redemption, we get a first-hand account of all that she went through.
The Good: I applaud Mrs. Stanton’s courage at telling her story. There were some real life lessons to be learned throughout the book.
The Bad: I found myself literally shaking my head while reading. There is an old saying that goes “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me”. I think that saying applies when discussing the Phaedra topic.
The ugly: There were many grammatical errors and editing mistakes in general. There were also times where the book jumped around from one situation to another with seemingly no direction on where the story was going. There were also times where the story repeated itself and became repetitive.

Good read even though I felt the way the story was told was disjointed. The author definitely spilled the tea on Phaedra Parks.

If even half of this is true then it's a fascinating story. This is the tale of a woman who was so badly let down by her friend and the trials she had to endure. I thought it was a good read, I only marked it down because of the grammar and I didn't think that it had been edited particularly well.

Phaedra definitely did that shit.

I also want to give Ms. Stanton props for sharing a compelling, deeply personal story, shedding light on the conditions that drive a person to crime, on what it's like to be in the criminal justice system, and advocating compassion for convicts.

Have you ever wanted to read a book just so that it can take you away from the hardships of your own life? Did you ever pick up a book hoping it would be filled with so much drama that you would be able to escape into that world instead of dealing with reality? Well I have...and this was the book I chose to read.

Lies Of A Real Housewife totally did the job for me. It was the perfect distraction in this highly stressful moment in time. I wanted to read a book the was full of drama, but not too dark. I wanted something juicy and entertaining. This book delivered all of the above.

In this her second book, the author tells the story of how Pheadra Parks escaped serving time in prison by turning on her right hand woman Angela Stanton. According to Angela, Phedra was the mastermind behind an elaborate criminal ring that committed crimes such as forgery, car theft, identity theft and bank fraud.

This is the first book I finished reading while quarantined. I am so glad I chose this book at this time because it was very easy to get through. I knew I would not be able to focus on a book with various characters, and an elaborate plot. There was no way I would have been able to concentrate.

But with this book, I already knew everyone Angela wrote about. Therefore, I didn’t have to remember anyone. It was like watching a spinoff of the Atlanta Housewives. It was fast paced, and entertaining.

This was the perfect book for me to read at this time. I wish it didn’t have to come to an end.

Very Revealing

After watching the fourth episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion, I couldn't believe what transpired. The length that Phaedra went to cause harm to another person without any remorse was astounding. When Kandi mentioned this book. I remembered it but was never interested in reading it until now.

After reading this book and seeing the constant lies about the Tuckers and her using Porscha to do her dirty work is exactly how the author was treated.

Finally, I have a hard time believing that Apollo acted alone.

This is a raw, emotional journey of a woman who literally went to hell and back…only to meet a legal snake named Phaedra Parks. After reading this book I will never look at that woman the same way again. I know there are three side to every story, but legal documents don't lie!

Once I watched latest Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion and Kandi mentioned this book, I just had to read it. I have been in a book slump lately so I was surprised when this book was able to keep my attention.

This is the story of Angela Stanton, her decline and uprising in life, and her dealings with ATL housewife Phaedra Parks. Let me tell you!!! This chick spilled all the tea!!! And I can say I truly believe her. Sometimes this read as a fiction book where you did not believe it was real. But a book this basic (and I do mean basic. There were grammatical errors all over the place. That's why the book got a 4 star) has got to be true. No one will write something with so much detail, such as names, places, dates and events, can be lying about it. And there is nothing anyone can do about it.

At first I thought that this was going to be a story of just with her dealings with Phaedra but it was an inspiring story. I have respect for Angela for having a dream and doing all to accomplish it. She has written 2 books and wanted to make a difference with book of them. I commend her. This is a book I did not expect to read but I am glad I did. Props to Angela Stanton for overcoming.

This book sucks!

This book was so poorly written and full of contradictions that it didn't make any sense. Whoever edited this mess should be fired. As much as I dislike Phaedra for her fakeness on The Real Housewives of Atlanta I have to say that this book was one long wallow in self pity. Angela used her childhood sexual abuse as an excuse for every wrongdoing she has ever perpetrated in her life, and I don't respect that at all. And God bless her poor mother's soul because she killed her with stress and having every man who touched her baby and then making her Mom raise it. Smh. She constantly said how much she loved her kids and they were her life but once she gave her first child away she never mentions her again. Some mother. This books jumps around so inconsistently that she seems to be in jail once and then says 30 times and then she has a husband appear from then air at the end. I was hoping that this book would give some context to the feud but that is sadly not the case. This book was not worth the $5 it costs at all.

Where to start? This book was awful on so many levels. I never liked Phaedra Parks but this woman is 100 times worse. She blames everyone for a life she created. She calls herself a 'slave' when she's in prison for crimes she admits to committing. She takes zero responsibility for anything that ever happened to her and she is narcissistic to the point of laughter.
The writing? Good lord. I don't know who her editor was but that person should be removed from the publishing industry. The story was so disjointed that it's impossible to discern who fathered which child and who she was sleeping with at any given time. She misspelled the word 'Baghdad'. The proofreader needs a new line of work. Her writing 'style' (and I use that term loosely) reads like the diary of a sixth grader.
I can't believe that anyone actually published this. Aspiring authors, read this book and do the exact opposite. I'm glad the author thinks so highly of herself, "I knew I was a great writer!" because no one, no true reader, can get through this book without cringing multiple times. Inherently unreadable.

The Story

This is a MUCH talked about book, and there are no real surprises here. Ms Stanton is a good writer, and she tells a story of theft, deception, and betrayal that few would match. It's heartbreaking to read, particularly since its alleged to be a true account of Ms Stanton's own life and "friendship" with Mrs Parks. The book itself is a decent read. There are no plot twists or major attention grabbing moments, but it is clearly a book that served the purpose of cleansing for the author. I hope that this was enough for her and that she is now able to comfortably move forward.

I believe her

Although there were quite a few inconsistencies in the book, I fully believe everything Angela says.........especially since Apollo's criminal activity has finally caught up with him (wonder how he feels now) but at the same time how can you trust someone is all for you and on your side when they send you to do all the dirty work, but they are the only ones that reap the benefits? Phaedra is dirty for doing her so called friend like that, but when you're only out for self, what do you expect? Really interested in reading the author's first book because this woman has definitely turned her life around for the better

This was an interesting book. Because this is a she said/she said situation, it's difficult to know how much of this book is true but I can believe that some of what Angela Stanton is saying is true. While she tries to take responsibility for her actions, she also portrays herself as a victim when millions of people in similarly difficult circumstances make different life choices. There is a sequel to this book, "Dismissed With Prejudice", which details the lawsuit that Phaedra Parks brought against Angela Stanton when this book was published. The phrase (dismissed with prejudice) means that the lawsuit was dismissed and the plaintiff cannot refile the same claim.

Lies of a Housewife by Angela Stanton is a juicy, captivating memoir that doesn’t hold back on the twists and turns of Stanton’s life. She takes readers on a raw, unfiltered journey through her personal battles and legal entanglements, revealing the gritty details and emotions behind the headlines. Stanton’s storytelling is authentic and vulnerable, making it impossible to put the book down. Her willingness to expose her struggles and triumphs pulls readers in, offering a fascinating look at resilience and redemption. For anyone who enjoys a mix of scandal and heartfelt transformation, this book delivers it all.

The author is just dumb. Blames others for her faults.

This was a slander story about a woman who was involved in criminal activities of her own volition, but when she got caught she blamed Phaedra because she was jealous of Phaedra's success. Even if Phaedra was involved in criminal activity, hey, don't hate the player, hate the game. The author was young and dumb, made her choices, and lived with the consequences but was mad that Phaedra didn't bail her out of her own circumstances that she was too stupid to refuse to partake in. Give me a break.

I heard this author speak briefly about her book on a radio show and thought I would pick it up to understand further. I'm not sure what I expected but whatever it was, the book exceeded my expectations.

Major props to anyone who shares their lives with readers with such sincere honesty. Angela Stanton takes us through her childhood to current day, detailing her eventual downfall and path to incarceration. This is an everywoman and everyman story- about perseverance and finding faith in yourself to keep breathing, keep moving.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book.

Wow, Angela Stanton

This was and is a good book. After watching Atlanta housewives and checking out Mrs. Phaedra Parks, I'm coming to an understanding of the things you were speaking about in the book about Mrs. Parks. I have always kept a open eye on her and always thought it was something up with up. You definitely don't have a reason to be making your story up and defamating her character and in return hurt yourself. Many blessings and keep your head up. Great Book. The best books are the ones that tell true.♡

Telling the truth

This book that she wrote was well written regarding her life and the challenges she endured. After I saw the 4th reunion and Phaedra Parks was exposed I had to read this book. Angela has done her part in exposing Phaedra as the devil's advocate, now her actions has come to the light on national t.v., revenge is knocking on her door. Continue to stay positive, God's got you every step of the way. You've paid your dues.

Decent Read

The book was a fast read but the chapter content could have been structured and formatted better. It read more of a life's story for Angela rather than a "tell all" on Phaedra, but the info revealed regarding Ms.Parks' illegal activity, is believable, especially since the author attached court docs at the end of the book to support her claims. Hope Fraudra remembers the biblical passages that speak to reaping what you sow........

This book basically talks about how evil and conniving Phaedra Parks from the Real Housewives Of Atlanta is and was... Angela (The author of this book) knew Phaedra way before she appeared on Housewives. Angela had a rough up bringing, she was raped at 5 years old and basically things never got any better for her. Her needing to make quick money was what brought Phaedra into her life. This book was very interesting, I wish I would of read it sooner, because I knew about it for years now.

the personal story of the crime is interesting. I bought this book because I watched the reunion episode when Phadrea was exposed for telling such a horrible lie on another cast member. I was curious of what her lies were from the past. I'm glad Angela wrote this book and told her story. I hope her life comes together.
the book is ok, it could be better but the crime part of it is just crazy when you think Phadrea is on TV. it's a story of survival from jail and back to freedom.

Very well written..

I began reading this book base on the ugliness of Phaedra Parks.. However once I began to read further the book was so much more than Phaedra and her madness.. Angel Stanton showed us so many factors that could and does affect youth today.. Rape, molestation, poverty, single parenting, incarceration, family, love and success.. I haven't read a book like this in such a long time very engaging.. Wishing much success, Angela Stanton.. God is good!!!

Victory for Angela!!!!

I was really moved by Angela's story!!! I've been watching Real Housewives of Atlanta since its inception. I've known from the beginning that Phaedra Parks was shady. The first questioning of her due date for her pregnancy had her mumbling all over the place!!!!! I truly pray for Angela Stanton and her children, and I'm truly proud of her!!!!! May God bless the Stanton family!!!

This was a deep book

I choose to rate this book because I take a lot of courage to after going through something's like this to tell the story not knowing if people would believe or trust her. For some people her telling her story opened their eyes to see how crooked people really are. Overall the book was real

The book was interesting however I was angry through s lot of it because it seemed as though the writer blamed Phaedra for most of her consequences to her actions when she is the one who chose to engage in the illegal activities along with Phaedra. The lack of ownership on her part was hard to continue reading at times. Also the poor editing/ grammar of the book.

Just okay

I thought this book was full of contradictions and at times redundant. However I always felt that Ms. Parks was never who or what she portrayed herself to be. Candid look into just how deceitful and cunning she really was.
