Locals may know Windemere for its rolling pastures, horse ranches, and rough-and-tumble bad boys, but there’s more going on than meets the eye.

Hometown curvy girl Mia Isley is ready to leave Windemere in her rearview. She’s had enough of town politics and men who can’t own up to wanting a woman with more to hold onto at night.

But when gorgeous bad boy Storm Whitehorse runs afoul of the local law again, Mia can’t deny that she suspects there’s more to the troublemaker than just a temper. And she knows the one man who can help—the equally handsome horse rancher Teagan Quaid.

Only problem is that Teagan hasn’t spoken to Mia in the year since he dumped her without explanation. That, and the fact that Teagan’s no man. There was a time when Teagan Quaid was the bad boy of Windemere, just like Storm, before Quaid embraced his nature and became the lead stallion of Windemere’s herd of horse shifters.

With rivalry clearly boiling between the two men, each convinced Mia is in love with the other, how can she save them both from the dark and lonely destinies closing in on them and on Windemere? And do they even want saving?

You can’t ride into Heaven on a bad hoss, her daddy used to say. Mia knows that all depends on what a girl means by “heaven.”

OMG, just when I thought shifters were hot, they get even hotter!

Mia is one BBW that has got her hands full literally, when she finds herself sandwiched between 2 wild horse shifters Teagan and Storm.

Teagan and Storm go wild with need for the filly, but soon realize all 3 of them are meant to be together and take Mia on the wildest ride of her life!

Together they need to get their life on track again, they need to build up a herd for the ranch, so it doesn't go under.

I sure hope Ms. Madsen plans on writing more about this wild, wild trio cause I for one want to read more about the hosses.

Lots of real wild hot passion, not for the faint of heart! LOL

This book is for readers 18+ due to it's sexual content and explicit language.

I’ve never read a book about horse shifters before, but what an intriguing thought (and thought, and wonder, and more thought … hmmmm). Does the adage about being hung like a horse apply? And could you actually ride the horse & the cowboy at the same time! OK, enough! Although from what Erika Masten has written … the answers are yes & definitely!
This is a great quick read with a surprising amount of detail. The characters are very well described. There is plenty of material here for the ongoing series about the Windemere stallions, these 3 main characters, problems & tension from other shifters, questions about the motives of nefarious town folk and the question of if it’s possible they can build back up the decimated herd. The steamy tension and action between one latent BBW mare & two randy stallions is panty-melting.
This is a definite “watch for the next in the series” book for me!! That's a HEA for me!

Good to the last page

Who knew werehorses could be so sexy? From the first chapter I was enthralled with the horses of Windemere. I love that Mia’s long wait resulted in the love of two alpha males. I look forward to reading more stories in this series and by Erika Masten.

I really tried to like this book, because I'm generally a fan of BBW romances and shifter romances, but this was way too much, or rather not enough for me.
I finished reading this short book and felt like there were more questions that were unanswered than issues resolved. From the beginning of the book I felt like I was missing something, like I had been dropped in halfway through the story ( I'm still wondering how Mia learned what Teagan was, and what is the deal with the evil lady taking over the town. It was just so much left unexplained). I don't feel as if the characters really showed any type of emotional connection. There was lots of talk about physical attraction, but very little about feelings. Part of me wonders if that was intentional, if it really all was just animal attraction, but if that was the case then it could have been stated clearer. All in all, I just didn't feel like there was much of a romance. And I also didn't find the love scene to be appealing at all. I get that it is fiction, and supposed to be fantasy, but somethings just aren't humanly possible without a lot of preparation and even then I can't imagine them being pleasurable.

Not bad.... Not great... But not bad...

Definitely worth my .99 cents and I think my time. I mostly like the constant horse references to their movements and behavior though it did get a bit old at times ..... I like the the ideas behind the story but the execution and the characters failed what could have been a really fun story ..... It needed more depth and more back story and well... Just more.. I wanted to like this more because rarely to you find shifter story involving horse shifters and rarely do find a good M/F/M menage period and to have both was nice but most of it felt stilted and forced or just a bit choppy... Great idea, but needed more work and story and just more development, more rough draft than finished story.... Especially the feeling of a "happy for now" ending..
Not a bad read, but miles away from what it could or should be...

This is the first horse shifter I've seen or read. It was a quick read, but well worth it. This story about Mia, Storm, and Teagan is a little complicated, very emotional, and steamy! I hope there are future stories that give a little more background and help you to understand more about this very cool, unique shifter. I'm really a fan of Erika Masten, and this story certainly didn't disappoint!

I received a copy of Bad Hoss in exchange for an honest review.

Maybe All Are Not Gone

This is an interesting shifter story. When it seems that all is lost, there seems to be hope on the horizon. When you have made up your mind to go there is a possibility that a couple of hot shifters can change your mind. Especially if you all can be beneficial to each other. This is a very good hot read. Enjoy I did.

This was the first stallion shifter book I've ever read and I have to say it was hot but the story needed a little more development. I liked the characters but I didn't feel like the relationship developed enough (for me). The sex is hot and I loved the heroine. I hope this is a start to a new series and we get to see these characters in future books to see if it all pans out for them.

House shifters wow

This the first time I heard of house shifters and I loved this story. What was sad was the fact that the herd was more or less almost killed off and that makes it sad sort of. Differently a great romance story would love to read more.

I get that they were stallion shifters, I do, but when the prose starts in on how like they're stallions and hung and the horse sounds they seem to be making during sex, it started reading like bestiality and turned me off. Didn't care for this one.

Different but good

This is a different type of shifter story but had a good story. The concept of Horse shifters made the book interesting.
