This was a lot of fun to read. It's silly, in exactly the way you'd imagine if someone told you it was an intergalactic baseball tournament shonen action fighting series featuring real, contemporary MLB players. It ends right before Shohei Ohtani's first at-bat in the humans' first game against aliens, and I want to know what happens! The art is very good. Overall, this book is better than most people would expect it to be 😂 Baseball fans, and followers of MLB will enjoy this more, but I think it might charm other readers, since, as in many shonen fighting comics, heart is going to be the humans' best asset.

I somehow hadn't heard of the creator Acky Bright before, despite the fact that he has worked on both big two titles and for major manga magazines. I'm curious about seeing his performance art of creating large drawings with just one pen in front of live audiences.

This is perfect if you love baseball - I read this with my nephew who loves baseball and he loved it! The art style, the story (some of his favorite players kidnapped from the future to play in this galactic league?) 10/10 no notes. This has it all, a nefarious ceo, a crazy smart engineer (but not the best business sense), and m0st of all - an art style that appeals to boys lol. There is enough background story too for those older than a teenage boy to make this enjoyable.

This ended on a cliffhanger - now that the team has been assembled and given gear, what happens when they face their first competitor?

Thanks Viz for the eARC.

Thank you @NetGalley and @VIZMedia for the ARC. What a fun Manga to add to my school Library. My students love baseball and Manga. It was so nostalgic to see so many familiar players as characters. Aliens have taken over baseball and a female owner of the losing team realizes she needs to go way back in time to find the best team to win the tournament. Leaves on a big cliffhanger. Need Vol. 2 asap.

Did Not Finish

Because if the baseball players of today don't torture me enough - let's bring them to the future to play against space monsters and have them torture me from beyond the grave (my grave, to be exact). If you think Shohei-double-tommy-john-Ohtani, Aaron-rib-transplant-Judge, and Juan-I-can't-run-the-bases-without-pulling-all-my-leg-muscles-Soto are beating GALACTIC MONSTERS...I'm sorry to say I've been there too and you're about to be sorely upset. I didn't finish this book by the way.

My husband and I read this together. It was perfect for us as he reads manga and I like baseball. I loved that the author brought in the top names of baseball. I feel like that is appealing to kids who love sports but maybe don't read manga. I loved the artwork. I honestly cannot wait to see it in print format. I am excited to see how the game progresses as this stops before that pros get to bat.

This manga was profoundly silly, but in a fun way. The premise is a little reminiscent of Space Jam, to be honest, but as a millennial I am 100% ok with that. The art was cute and the plot was engaging. If you're a baseball or shonen manga fan, you should give it a try.

Thanks to VIZ Media via Netgalley for the ARC.

I love baseball, I love manga, this is the perfect combination of the two. MLB players vs aliens already had be hooked from the get go! The humor and visual gags were great as well. I plan to absolutely continue with this series.

Read more graphic novel reviews at The Graphic Library.

In 3026, Luna finds herself the General Manager of the laughing stock of the galaxy's baseball league -- the Gaia Force, the team who also now needs an entirely new roster. But Luna is full of ingenious ideas, including testing out her new time machine to travel back to 2026 to "recruit" all of baseball's finest stars to play for the future. Readers who love sports stories and who certainly enjoy shonen manga will enjoy this action-packed story paying homage to the best players of today.
