With this being Alyssa Sassen’s debut book, it’s clear just how talented she is. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next, as this book was wonderfully packed with splatter, gore, and satisfying touch’s of revenge.

Absolutely loved this! short shocking stories that are most terribly entertaining. Full of trigger warnings and female rage Alissa’s writing style is perfect fast paced and descriptive without being long winded. I read this book in a day as I was hooked on from the first page and couldn’t stop reading. Totally recommend this can’t wait to read more from this brilliant new author.

What a fucking read! I used to be in a psychobilly band and really thought I had a beat on story narration, until I had the pleasure of this coming through my desk stack and I have to say; I’m absolutely inspired. I don’t write anymore about those topics, but if I did “She” would absolutely be right there for inspiration for new songs. Each story draws you in further and what’s super tight is that there’s an epilogue for each story you so you’re not left wanting more out of what’s being presented to you. THE AUTHOR very genuinely gets at that lizard part of your brain in the best possible. I recommend this book to everyone in my day to day, openly knowing they can’t handle it and that just sits so well with me. Page to page this shit rules, but moreover. I can’t want to read this miss ma’am’s newest work when they’re ready for us to take it in. HARD

Author Alyssa Sassen constructs a fascinating anthology - with women and the forefront. This plays to great effect as we explore different gender specific scenarios and anxieties and are provided with a horror twist. Some gore for good measure and with the anthology structure it maintains a brisk pace.
I appreciate the authors inclusion of trigger warnings as well. Considerations such as those are commendable.
Also I appreciate the clever wordplay pertaining to each story title and the word "She"

As someone who rather enjoys female rage and splatterpunk, this slapped. It’s got it all: medical horror, body horror, revenge porn, rogue plastic surgeons, viruses, and more! Several of the stories made me absolutely squirm (and I see some nasty shit at work so you know it’s good). Highly recommend!

Each story brings something unique to the table, with vivid imagery, relentless brutality, and creative horror. She. kept every story fresh and exciting. Alyssa has a talent for giving the reader a great mix of original storytelling with unexpected twists and creating terrifying scenes. Can’t wait for more from this author!!
