Wereball #2

Chaos At Second Sight

Rate this book
I watched the forest, but the forest was watching me too.

YVAINE

It all started with a text in the middle of the night. It ended with him—Logan Draven, playboy Wereball captain and my twin brother’s biggest rival—on his knees, begging me not to leave him, but I did.

I left him and his betrayal behind.

I packed up my perfectly structured life, and flew to my family’s home in Scotland, the best place for me to find some peace.

But I should’ve known he wouldn’t let me escape for long. Showing up on my doorstep was an enormous creature with black fur, fangs, and glaring red eyes. Turns out my fated mate wasn’t only hiding his identity from me, but his inner beast as well.

Forgiveness isn’t simple and loving the enemy comes with risks, but maybe it’s time to stop playing it so safe...and let myself get a little wild.

LOGAN

The lies were supposed to protect her. Instead, they drove her away and woke up the beast I’ve spent my whole life trying to contain.

And it doesn’t give a damn about distance, rules, or boundaries. Then again...neither do I.

But I didn’t cross an ocean just to simply get her back. I came to prove I can be the man my Bunny Doc needs, the mate she deserves.

I’m not exactly known for my patience, but I always win, and I’ll fight to win her back, one day at a time, or better yet, one kiss at a time.

But keeping her safe and destroying anyone stupid enough to come after what’s mine? That’s where my inner beast and I finally agree.

Maybe it’s time to stop suppressing it…and let the monster out.

Ugh. this was one of my most anticipated reads because I found the first one so campy and addictive and for it to fall so flat is disappointing. This book had zero plot. Everything was resolved extremely quickly or took strange turns. I felt like characters glossed over major reveals or moments and nothing built to anything. This was just a bunch of scenes in a trenchcoat.
Also WHY do these people all have a dozen nicknames each?? For the love of god.

This was so much fun. I actually made sure to re-read Wereball first and I'm glad that I did. I loved Yvaine and Logan and absolutely freaking adore Lucien. I'm also definitely in need of more answers now that I've gotten some but then gained even more questions again.

This gave me so many laughs but also tears and it was a really great time. Logan is having to learn and accept himself and honestly it was great to watch (well outside of some of the moments that were sad). He definitely stole my heart and especially with Lucien. I am totally excited for book 3 and will definitely be diving into that as soon as it's available!

If you're wanting a book that is definitely a lot of humor, some sad and tense moments, a story that has both fated mates but also having to learn to accept yourself, dealing with love and loss and heartbreak while also having an intense sport and horny werewolves in college then I'd definitely recommend this one.

Not gonna lie, Chaos At Second Sight took me a minute to get into because I completely forgot what happened in book one, but as I kept reading things started clicking, and I could not put this down.

That being said, while it was so fun being back in the Wereball universe, I didn't connect with the characters or the story quite as much as I did in book one. I'm still rooting for Yvaine and Logan though, and am really excited to see where this series goes!

****ARC READER REVIEW****

After that ending in book one, I knew Yvaine and Logan were about to have to clock in for some relationship overtime, and honestly? I ate it up.

One thing about me: I love a mate bond. But I love it even more when the mate bond doesn't magically fix everyone's emotional damage. These two still had to communicate, lower their walls, rebuild trust, and actually learn how to be partners. The bond got them in the same room, but the relationship? They had to earn that themselves.

And the banter? The growth? The slow realization that love alone isn't enough if you don't do the work? Inject it directly into my veins.

Also, can we discuss LUCIEN for a moment because I am unwell. Every time he appeared, I suddenly forgot what I was doing. Getting his perspective was one of my favorite parts of the entire book. He is adorable, endearing, and I would like to put him in my pocket.

This book is basically college chaos, sports, possessive wolf nonsense, bro-life shenanigans, emotional turmoil, and approximately seventeen thousand feelings. I laughed, I stressed, I watched these messy little wolves figure their lives out, and by the end I was fully emotionally invested in all of them.

Honestly, seeing Logan and Yvaine choose each other over and over again was way more satisfying than any magical mate-bond shortcut could've been. Give me emotional growth and suffering with a happy ending every time. 🐺🖤📚

I went into this series not really knowing what to expect. I don’t read much werewolf romance and sports/frat romances aren’t usually my thing, but The Wereball series completely surprised me. There was some spice in Hate at First Text, but what really carried that first book for me was the slow build between Logan and Yvaine, the tension and watching them figure each other out. Chaos at Second Sight takes that foundation and finally lets them step into their relationship with a little more confidence. After all that buildup, they earned every bit of the spice.

While the first book leaned heavily on the texting subplot, this one finally forces Logan and Yvaine to actually talk. Watching them learn to communicate, rebuild trust and figure out how to move forward together took this story to another level. The banter, relationship development and the way they worked through their obstacles felt incredibly rewarding because none of it was rushed.

I also loved that the mate bond didn’t magically solve everything. They still had to build trust, understanding, and a genuine partnership, which made their connection feel so much more earned. And getting that time with Lucien early on? Absolutely loved that.

This series somehow blends college sports, frat chaos, paranormal mystery, mate-bond tension, and romance into something ridiculously fun. Wereball laid the groundwork, but Chaos at Second Sight gave Logan and Yvaine the space to really become them.

And yes, we get another cliffhanger because apparently Isabella Skye enjoys watching me suffer. I can't wait to get my paws on the next one. 🐺

Rating: 2/5
Spice: 2/5
Tropes/themes: werewolf, romance, fantasy, paranormal, fated mates, slow burn

Book 2 in the Wereball series begins with Yvaine running away to Scotland to be with family and process that Logan is her mate. Logan goes absolutely postal, shifts to his Lycan and swims to Scotland to be with his mate, but his Lycan Lucian has completely taken over and won't let Logan back out. Lucien and Yvaine get time together to talk and get to know each other in the wilds of Scotland.

When Yvaine finally talks Lucien into letting Logan come back so she can talk to HIM about their relationship, Logan puts the brakes on. He is super worried his Lycan will hurt Yvaine and doesn't trust himself. Logan and Lucien, instead of working together as a single unit have always been at odds and Yvaine reveals that they need to practice working together.

We get a lot more backstory on Logan and a lot more information about Lycans versus Werewolves. I wasn't a fan of Lucien, he was basically the emotional maturity of a petulant child, and I'm grossed out how Yvaine or Ruby is supposed to be attracted to that.

The plot could have centered on their relationship alone and been fine but there were a lot of side quests that didn't really further the plot (the Matenapper, visiting Grandma, in the library studying). It made the story seem like it was all over the place instead of cohesive and just seemed like page filler. There was too much foreshadowing, so nothing came as a surprise and it was too predictable. I, unfortunately, did a lot of skimming.

I don't know what kind of magic Isabella Skye puts in her books, but I absolutely DEVOUR them!!! 🤌🏼🔥
I stayed up until 3 AM reading because I simply could not put this book down! This is the second book in the series and MUST be read in order.
We pick up exactly where we left off in book one. Yvaine has fled to Scotland with her twin brother after discovering that Logan is her mate. But his Lycan follows her there, and she finally gets the chance to get to know him better.
Honestly, their time in Scotland might have been my favorite part of the entire book!
And can we talk about Killian?! I absolutely adore him and I am SO ready for his story with Daisy next! Give it to me NOW! 😍
If you love paranormal romance, fated mates, and a story that keeps you turning pages way past your bedtime, add this series to your TBR!

I received an eARC; All opinions are my own.

First I want to start off by saying book 1's cliffhanger was crazy.... then book 2 starts us off exactly where book 1 left off... which had me flying through the first few chapters quickly. With the aftermath and betrayal in book 1 Yvaine and her twin go to Scotland to visit their family. And Logan’s beast follows her. I love how Yvaine is still able to be her and process her feelings even with a mate bond. Seeing how it all unfolded in Scotland and how her family supported her was great, very funny, and entertaining.

We got to see more about the world and both Logan and Yvaine's past and family dynamics. Which kept me very engaged. I absolutely love reading werewolf shifter romances and this one definitely gave me something new! Can't wait to read what's next!

Thank you to the author for this advanced reader copy. 🛑 Spoilers ahead in this review. 🛑
This second book was so fun. I adored Lucien. He was like an overgrown puppy in love. So cute. I enjoyed the change in the struggle between him and Logan as the book progressed and I can't wait to see and find out more in Book 3. Also super excited/curious to see what happens with Magnus. Could he be the Lycan with the Black Devils?!? 🤔

A fave quote/moment - “Ask her already!” Lucien huffed. “Human, you are male balls.” “Huh?” “Pussies are tough, bear children. Human is male balls. Those are weak.”

Couple things I’m wondering:
1. Why does everyone have a billion fricken nicknames for each other
2. Why in the first book didn’t say that this book and the third book are written yet it’s not being published till May of next year???
3. Why in the world did the plot feel so rushed at end when it was a 500 pg book and didn’t need it if it was done better? 😭

Yet even with all that I enjoyed the book so idrc and am rating it 3.5 stars 😁 (deal with it)

I started Chaos At Second Sight and realized I barely remembered anything from the first book. 😭 So, naturally, I stopped everything, went back, reread book one… and fell in love with it all over again. It had been a five-star read for me the first time, and somehow it was just as magical the second time around. ❤️

Then I came back to this one, and I immediately fell straight back into the world. The characters, the world-building, the tiny details, the dynamics… OH MY GOD. 🥹✨ Everything felt so immersive, and I was completely invested.

Yvaine had been trying to escape the chaos after Logan’s betrayal, leaving for Scotland in the hopes of finding some peace. But Logan wasn’t exactly going to let his fated mate disappear. Especially when the beast inside him had finally awakened. 🐺🔥 What started with secrets, betrayal, and a creature with black fur, fangs, and terrifying red eyes turned into a story about forgiveness, trust, embracing who you are, and finally letting yourself get a little wild.

And the found family in this book?! I WAS OBSESSED. 🥹💗

Found family is one of my absolute favorite tropes, and watching Yvaine get welcomed into Logan’s pack—despite coming from a rival pack—made my heart so happy. The fact that they were already calling her Luna?! 😭💕 The way they embraced her, protected her, teased each other, acted completely ridiculous together, and still had that almost childish bond while being there for one another… I LOVED IT.

The characters and the world-building complemented each other so beautifully. The more I learned about the world, the more attached I became to the characters, and the more I loved the characters, the more I wanted to know about the world. It was such a satisfying combination. ✨

And Logan and his inner beast?! 😂🐺

I absolutely loved the dynamic of this seemingly uncontrollable lycan who couldn’t be tamed or controlled by anyone… suddenly turning into the biggest puppy dog around Yvaine. The beast didn’t listen to anyone. It didn’t care about rules, boundaries, or authority. But Yvaine could tell him what to do and he would basically go, “Yes, ma’am.” 😭😂❤️

There was something ridiculously adorable about watching the creature everyone feared become completely devoted to her.

This book also put me through EVERY SINGLE EMOTION. 😭 I cried. I laughed. I gasped. I panicked. I smiled like an idiot. I was on the edge of my seat for so long. There were moments when I genuinely forgot I was reading because I was so completely caught up in everything happening.

And once I started properly reading it, I COULD NOT STOP. 📖🔥

I forgot to eat. I forgot to sleep. My entire world revolved around this book until I finished it. And honestly? I regret nothing. 😂

Isabella Skye’s writing completely pulled me into this world. The characters felt alive, the relationships felt meaningful, and the world felt so rich and detailed. I was completely, hopelessly obsessed.

Tropes & vibes I loved: 🐺✨
🐺 Fated Mates
💗 Found Family
🔥 Enemies/Rivals to Lovers
🏡 Pack Family
👑 Future Luna
🤫 Secrets & Betrayal
🌲 Supernatural Fantasy
🖤 Morally Grey/Protective Characters
🐾 Inner Beast
😂 Found Family Chaos
💋 Second Chances
❤️‍🔥 “Everyone fears him but her” energy
✨ Learning to embrace your true self

Perfect for readers who love:
🐺 Werewolves/lycans with a supernatural twist
💗 Found-family dynamics that make you want to join the pack
🔥 A dangerous MMC who turns into a complete softie for his FMC
✨ Fated-mate bonds
🌲 Immersive fantasy worlds
😂 Chaotic, lovable friend groups
❤️‍🔥 Romance mixed with secrets, danger, and emotional turmoil

I am SO obsessed with this series. 🥹❤️ I loved book one, reread it before starting this, and somehow came out of book two even more attached to this world and these characters.

And now I have only one problem…

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO WAIT FOR BOOK THREE?! 😭😭😭

I cannot wait to see what comes next. If the next book is anything like this one, I already know I’m going to be emotionally destroyed in the best possible way. 🐺❤️‍🔥

Thank you so much to Isabella Skye for the opportunity to read this ARC. I am so happy I got to return to this world, and I cannot wait to see where the series goes next! 💕

Thank you to Isabella Skye and Luna Literary for a complimentary copy of Chaos at Second Glance (Kindle Edition) for an honest review.

This is book two in the Wereball interconnected series - you must read book one “Hate At First Text” first. I loved the tropes which carries through from the first book: found family, nurturing family, enemies to lovers, brothers enemy, forbidden romance, fated mates, sports, shifter, academia/Medicine, he falls first and harder, excellent banter, sassy and feisty fmc, protector, groveling, alpha (tortured soul), and redeeming.

This book starts off at the end of book two following Ivy and Lachlan (sister and brother) flying to Scotland to heal/maybe flee from feelings with their extended family. (Ironically, I was travelling to Scotland myself as I was reading this book - it made it that much extra.)

Identities are revealed (deception or omission of the truth) at the end of the Comets (Lachlan) vs. Dark Diamonds (Logan/Rudolph) Wereball game. Clashes happen, hearts are broken, a flatmate(s) finds their mate(s), rejection and near rejection will make you gasp. I was deeply destroyed in the best possible way - can you really say that - yes, yes I can. Then starts the journey of forgiveness on all accounts for so many of the characters. We are introduced to Lucian/Lucy who stole my heart. Yes Lucy! Win that heart!

The Mackenzie Clan rallies around their family. Grandma is a bad arse and the rock and makes them confront their fears, their thought processes, and their hearts. Again Lucy for the win. I will also say that I am down for Logan. Isabella wrote a great MMC who grovels, is cocky and funny, is protective in so many ways, says his heart, insatiable, wont give up, falls harder and faster, will burn the world down for his Bunny Doc. Ivy, learns to soften and let love in and becomes even stronger, sassier and I must say protective herself. Mate bonds - what can you say. Most of the book centers around the two of them reforging/strengthening the bond, learning to trust themselves and each other, the yearning for each other, battling their protective nature, being vulnerabie, and the barriers/disdain of the two rival families/clans.

I love the side characters and their stories starting to blossom in the background. Still love Killy, love me Callum, Bellatrix and I can’t wait for Archie as well as Daisy. The only part I wanted more of was the “Matenapper”, it ended to quickly. I also needed a bit more for Zelda!

Isabella is a new author to me - and I enjoyed her writing style, this story, the plot, the emotions of the characters, and the growth of their journey. I enjoyed Chaos At Second Glance and cannot wait for book three. I rated this a 4.25/5. This book was a great blend of what I like from shifter books of the possessive alpha, fated mates as well as all the tropes I listed above.

Some favorite quotes:
* “I dared to look up at him and drew in a gasp. A lone tear trailed down his muzzle. I had hurt him. Unacceptable.”
* “After all this time, don’t you wanna do some kissing? It wouldn’t be fair to them.” “To whom?” “The kisses!”
* “Do you love me?” He looked utterly blindsided, ears flattening. When a tiny croak left his mouth, he covered it, horrified at his own sounds. I giggled at the cute sight…”
* “Just let me be an old-fashioned gentleman and carry my woman to my cave for once.”
* “Family is precious. You hold on to them while you can, because one day there’ll be a last hug, a last laugh together, a last goodnight, and none of us get to choose when.”
* “Let’s go back to your pack now, Bunny Doc.” I blinked up at him. “To hug Ian.” My heart swelled. This strong, sarcastic lycan was going to overload my system one day. Warning: mate sweetness exceeding recommended dosage.”

Chaos at Second Sight was exactly the sequel I was hoping for. I loved Wereball, truly. That book took me by surprise because with little spice and a book about sports you would think I would have DNF'ed it. But Isabella Skye grabbed me with Logan and YVaine and the tension she built bewteen them. Her world building was entirely engrossing. Equal parts fun college sports and frats, paranormal mysteries, mate bond tension and excellent romance. While the first book laid the groundwork, this installment finally gave us the time we needed with Logan and Yvaine together, and it was so rewarding to watch their relationship develop. Rather than rushing into the mate bond, Isabella Skye allows them to build trust, understanding, and genuine partnership first. Their bond (and the eventual spice) felt completely earned. Plus I loved that she spent the first bit of their time together with Lucien!

One of my favorite parts of the book was getting to explore both of their backgrounds in greater depth. Yvaine's enormous wolf family was an absolute highlight. Meeting her collection of wild, chaotic, and fiercely protective uncles, grnadma, grandpa and more on her partnes relationship, added so much humor and heart to the story. I loved the little gossip about how they don't love her dad for taking her mom and one of her uncles stole his mate from her wedding day! This book has dirven me to the stories hidden on Isabella's patreon!

At the same time, the deeper look into Logan's past was devastating. The heartbreak and trauma he carries added so much emotional weight to his character and made me love him even more. Seeing Yvaine begin to understand those wounds and stand by his side made their relationship all the more meaningful. The balance between the warmth of found family and the pain of Logan's history was beautifully handled. It made the moments with his obnxious wolf pack friends so much more genuine and endearing.

The lycan plotline was another standout. Every new revelation made me more invested, and I loved how Skye expanded the mythology while raising even more questions. The mystery surrounding the lycans added tension and intrigue throughout the book, and I'm incredibly excited to see where that storyline goes next.

Logan and Yvaine completely stole my heart, and I am already counting down the days until the next book.

I absolutely loved this book and couldn't put it down! I’m giving Chaos At Second Sight a 4 out of 5 star rating.

This book is delightfully chaotic, and I loved watching the characters overcome their obstacles and truly learn to listen to each other. Meeting Lucien was such a moment, I loved this more animalistic side of Lucien, and the struggles and devastating past that they went through were absolute tear-jerkers.

For the spice level, Lucien is constantly asking Logan, "When are we going to mate, mate?" though let me say, it doesn't happen for quite a while, but it is worth it.

My one main critique is that I felt Yvaine would have mourned Zelda a bit more. She kind of just woke up and instantly discovered that Zelda was dead and that she had Ruby. Yvaine feels like Zelda evolved into Ruby, but it felt like a personal feeling that was cast aside rather than a fully explored moment, so I expected a bit more of a grieving process. That being said, Logan saying "You aren't a Pokémon" had me laughing out loud!

The mate-napping was another unexpected twist that added such an interesting dynamic to book two and kept the momentum moving forward. Overall, it's a brilliant continuation of the series. The overarching subplot running throughout is done so nicely. I'm really curious to see if the main series stays focused on Yvaine and Logan with novellas for the other couples, or if we'll get to explore the other couples' dynamics directly within the main books. Either way, I'm so intrigued and cannot wait to see where the story goes next!

Yvaine really said, “I need space,” and Logan apparently heard, “Please cross an entire ocean and come find me.” 😂
And you know what? I ate this UP.

Logan screwed up, Yvaine packed her bags and took herself to Scotland, and instead of accepting defeat like a normal man, this fool showed up ready to grovel, reclaim his mate, and unleash the giant beast he’s been hiding.
Sir??? 🚩

Unfortunately for me, I support fictional men’s rights AND fictional men’s wrongs. Moving on. 💀

What I really loved was that Yvaine didn’t immediately fold just because fated mates. She was hurt. She had questions. She needed Logan to prove himself—and I was right there like, YES GIRL. Make him suffer a little. We have standards. 😂

But then there’s Logan being possessive, obsessed, jealous, protective, and completely gone for her and suddenly my standards became… negotiable.

The Scotland setting, meddling family, supernatural chaos, banter, emotional healing, and “MINE” energy made this such a fun read. And once the slow burn started burning?!

Also, can we discuss the fact that his beast, Lucien, somehow managed to be terrifying AND adorable? Because excuse me, why am I emotionally attached to the giant murder puppy now?! 😂🐺

Was Logan dramatic? Yes.
Was he unhinged? Occasionally.
Did this man cross an OCEAN for his woman?
Unfortunately, Your Honor, I have no further questions.

Funny, spicy, chaotic, possessive, and exactly the kind of supernatural nonsense I willingly lose sleep over. 🐺❤️‍🔥

And apparently my Gemini ass loves a man with two personalities because Logan AND Lucien?! Variety is important. ♊️😂

📚 ARC REVIEW 📚
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

✨️ Chaos at Second Sight was EASILY one of my top anticipated sequels of the year, especially after the cliffhanger from book 1, Wereball: Love at First text, left us with a dramatic, grasp-worthy and utterly reeling ending. This book had me in such a chokehold, I devoured it in just a day due to the constant swooning and laugh-out-loud romcom energy.

✨️ I love the combination of 3 of my favorite genres (paranormal, rom-com & sports romance) executed perfectly into a chaotic paranormal college romance with possessive but cuddly werewolves, unhinged aggressive sports, bromance shenanigans, emotional turmoil, fated mates and touch her or HIM and die energy.

✨️ The banter between these characters CONTINUES to be top tier and helped build some amazing chemistry, communication and make way for some much needed redemption on Logan’s part. Yvaine and Logan have several issues they needed to work through but I really enjoyed their journey and seeing them lower their walls, rebuild trust and learn HOW to be a partner. ENTER LUCIEN: Yvaine FINALLY gets to meet Lucien or “Lucy”, Logan’s werewolf half!! YASSSSSS!! I was so ecstatic and swooning every second. He is the biggest freakin teddy bear and his devotion, and openness with Yvaine absolutely made me melt. I love that Yvaine gets to build on a whole separate relationship with him and help both him and Logan work towards their seeded baggage.

✨️ The twists and reveals in this book were amazing and insane. Part of me was shocked and the other part of me just happy to see events come to life. I love Yvaine & Logan’s friend group and really enjoy seeing bits and pieces of their lives unfold in the background, adding to the chaos and fates mates vibes. I would LOVE to see side stories of their lives and I can’t wait to see how things shake up and unravel in book 3!!

When his lies came out at the end of the last book, she choose to flee, but sometimes even distance can’t keep a mate bond apart even if you want them to!

After the reveal at the end of the last book, Yvaine has fled back to her family in Scotland to avoid the fallout and find her peace. Only nothing is ever that simple and Logan’s inner lycan had also been kept a secret from her and after thinking his mate left him, he travels across the ocean and shows up on her doorstep. She must navigate his inner beast and figure out if this mate bond is something she really wants or if this will put her at even more risk, especially if she cannot trust him. But the beast inside each of them just wants them to accept the mate bond and be together.

I really enjoyed getting to see both sides of Logan and his beast but also the FMC and her inner wolf also bickering about each wanting to accept the bond and ignore the human emotions side of it all. Seeing them navigate their trust issues but also jealousy and the possessiveness of their new bond lead to many misunderstanding and tense situations that I couldn’t put the book down to see if they just gave in and accepted it or not. I liked getting more of Logan’s backstory and also seeing Yvaines family and where she’s from while also seeing the pair interact with each of their packs back home! Overall I was happy with some of the twists and their ending and I can’t wait to continue to follow their story and maybe others in the next one! My rating 4.3/5!

I’m really loving this series and this was such a FUN addition to it! 🐺

After the way book one ended, we already knew Yvaine & Logan were going to have to put in some REAL work to repair their relationship and I loved watching them do it.

Learning to communicate . Lowering walls and rebuilding trust. Figuring out how to move forward together. All of it felt so rewarding because nothing was rushed. Their relationship actually had to DEVELOP, and the banter + emotional growth along the way? SO GOOD. I love mate bonds but I think I live even more when the mate bond doesn’t fix whatever problems the couple is having.

They still had to build trust, understanding, and an actual partnership. The mate bond might have brought them together, but they still had to CHOOSE each other and do the work. That made their connection feel so much more earned because those are the things real relationships are built on.

Also… LUCIEN. 🥹

I cannot tell you how much I LOVED him. Getting his perspective and being able to get inside his head was such a sweet addition. He is so endearing, and I ate up every second of it.

Basically, this book is: college life, a sprinkle of bro life, sports, possessive wolf things, relationships, early 20s chaos and turmoil, and a whole lot of feelings.

Isabella continues to build this world in a way that keeps pulling me in, and I am officially READY for book 3! Give it to me!

Chaos at Second Sight was SO much fun.

I laughed, I swooned, and the banter gave me actual butterflies. Yvaine and Logan have exactly the kind of dynamic I love: she’s structured, brilliant, and trying desperately to keep control of her life, while he is pure chaotic jock confidence with an inner beast making everything infinitely more complicated.

I also really loved the Scotland setting and the way this book balanced romance, humor, tension, and the more dangerous supernatural elements. Somehow Isabella Skye managed to make me laugh one minute and genuinely nervous the next, while still making me fall even harder for these characters and this world.

And I have to give a standing ovation to the beginning of this book. There’s a character glossary, Scottish terms and phrases, nicknames, and all the little reminders you need if book one isn’t perfectly fresh in your head. I did not reread immediately beforehand, so I was ridiculously grateful not to spend the first several chapters trying to remember who everyone was and how they were connected.

I am completely invested in this ridiculous, chaotic, lovable world now, and that ending has me desperate for more.

Funny, swoony, surprising, genuinely tense, and completely addictive.

I need book three immediately. Yesterday would be ideal. 😭

This book was a rollercoaster. There were moments when so much was happening that it was hard to take everything in, but the found family in this book is incredible. I loved discovering more about Logan, seeing how much of a puppy he is around Yvaine, and watching their relationship go through all its ups and downs. Everything felt so raw and real.
There is still a lot more to unpack, especially as they have to navigate this new chapter after the later development in Yvaine’s form. They are perfect for each other.

I also loved the way fate works in this book, and how we get to see all the missed opportunities they had to connect with each other through their friends and family. There was something so kismet about the way everything kept bringing them closer together, even when they kept missing each other.

Also, learning more about the other members of the pack and their families was so interesting, and I was trying to match who could be with whom. Logan's past and the newest information about his family were unexpected and raised more questions about him as a lycan and as a person. There were a lot of plot twists I didn't expect, and I just wanted to keep reading to find out everything. The third book is needed yesterday.

I absolutely devoured and loved the book. It was one of my favorite reads of the year.

*ARC REVIEW*

I devoured book one when it first came out, so to get to arc read book two is so incredible!

So we left on the intense plot of her leaving for Scotland and the beast from Logan is released! Lucien is going to get his mate! It did not disappoint.

The plot flowed well, I laughed, I cried. Without spoiling anything, I was gripping my seat in parts because the twists were so unexpected even in the parts where you knew something was going down (mate napper)

I love a mate bond. The way the author writes this is so special and different in a shifter romance. I love that both characters are different, but perfect for each other.
Her loving Lucien as well as Logan may be my favourite point of book 2, but also Ruby?! I was kicking my feet so hard.
Aswell as a fated mate plot being a fave, I also love it when details in the book elude to the two characters being able to meet earlier, but they didnt because they had to meet at the right time. Like with Logan's sister and grandmother, I was so happy we got those moments of OOOOO they could have let sooner!

It's so easy to visualise their world and the author has done an amazing job of connecting you to side characters, that I want to know everyone's story.
This is a shifter college athlete romance, with the best banter and a brilliant amount of spice 🤌 no notes

I absolutely loved returning to the Wereball universe! This sequel had such a wonderful combination of romance, humor, emotional moments, and unexpected twists that kept me invested throughout the story.

One of my favorite things was watching Yvaine and Logan's relationship develop. After everything that happened in the first book, they had a lot to work through, and I loved seeing them slowly rebuild their connection. Their chemistry and banter were so entertaining, but it was the more vulnerable moments that made their relationship even more meaningful.

I also loved getting to know Lucien! His interactions with Yvaine were adorable, and seeing another side of Logan through him added so much to the story. The found family aspect was another highlight for me. I enjoyed learning more about the different packs, their relationships, and the loyalty they have toward one another.

The Scotland setting, paranormal mysteries, and college sports elements made this such an interesting continuation of the series. There were plenty of sweet moments mixed with emotional revelations and surprising developments.

Overall, this was such an enjoyable paranormal sports romance filled with fated mates, found family, second chances, and characters you can't help becoming attached to. I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book!

ARC Review

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I went back and read book one and then I jumped straight into Chaos at Second Sight and was instantly obsessed. The world-building, characters, pack dynamics and tiny details were completely immersive. 🐺✨

Yvaine runs to Scotland after Logan’s betrayal, but he isn’t about to let his fated mate disappear—especially now his inner beast has awakened. What follows is a gripping story of secrets, forgiveness, trust and embracing your wild side. 🔥

The found family was EVERYTHING. Watching Logan’s pack welcome Yvaine—even calling her Luna—made my heart so happy. Their teasing, loyalty and chaotic energy were perfection. 🥹💗

And Logan’s terrifying, uncontrollable beast turning into a giant puppy around Yvaine? Absolutely adorable. Everyone fears him, but for her it’s basically, “Yes, ma’am.” 😂🐺❤️

This book put me through every emotion. I laughed, cried, gasped and could not stop reading. Sleep and food became optional. No regrets. 📖🔥

Tropes & vibes:

👑 Future Luna

Second Chance, First Love

This book was even better than the first one which is pretty rare these days. I loved the first book's introduction to the characters and seeing Logan (Rudy) and Yvaine (Bunny Doc) navigate their being mates to each other.

This book adds so much more that enriches the world and gives a new perspective with the scenery change to Scotland. We get introduced to Yvaine's family there and meet so many new, really interesting weres. We also learn more about Logan's difficult past, his lycan half Lucien, where he comes from, and valid reasons for how he acts.

The chemistry between Yvaine and Logan is so well written and the scenes were they really connect and delve deeper, letting the other in was probably my favorite part. The spice is great as well, it is definitely spicier than the first book!

I am so excited for book 3 to release next year, especially with that ending! It's available for pre-order now with incentives!

Thank you so much to Isabella Skye for this ARC copy! I'm so grateful to have the opportunity.

Oh my goodness, I have been waiting for this book since finishing book one, and it was absolutely worth the wait!! After THAT ending, I needed to know what was going to happen with Logan and Yvaine, and I can honestly say I was not disappointed. Not even slightly!

I absolutely loved the turmoil Logan goes through with his Lycan half. The internal battles, the emotions, the struggle between the man and the beast. And then there's Yvaine, who has to navigate her feelings for Logan while coming to terms with everything he's been hiding from her. I loved watching her deal with both sides of him.

The emotions, the tension, the chemistry!! I was completely invested in these two and their story. There were moments when I wanted to shake them, moments when my heart hurt for them, and plenty of moments when I just couldn't turn the pages quickly enough.

I was so excited for this second instalment, but I genuinely didn't expect it to become one of my favourite books of the year!

My only complaint? I HAVE TO WAIT FOR BOOK THREE!!

Seriously, how am I supposed to be patient now?!

An absolutely fantastic continuation of Logan and Yvaine's story, and I am desperate to find out what happens next!

I've seriously been obsessed with this series ever since reading the first book last year. I gotta say, it was well worth the wait! Isabella Skye never fails to keep me on the edge of my seat and feeling all of the feels! She's one of the only writers that gives me butterflies when it comes to the realism of her dialogue and the way the love interests both interact with one another. She's really good with making a scene feel as natural as possible, and I think I can credit that to how normal her characters are. They have normal motivations, and they don't come across as perfect people with flaws that aren't even that. I love that they struggle to find their footing at the start, and they discover how to love each other along the way--and they make real mistakes! Was so pleased with this book and it was just as good as the first! I also loved the time spent in the wilderness with the twin's family. It was such a highlight for me!

Many thanks for the ARC and I can't wait for what comes next!

Okay… did I completely DEVOUR Books 1 AND 2 within 12 hours?!

YES.

Did I absolutely love them both?!

HECK YEAH I DID! 😂❤️‍🔥

First of all, Logan and Yvaine?! The adorableness of these two! The texting, the banter, Yvaine’s snarkiness… I was literally kicking my feet and giggling. Their back-and-forth was SO funny, and their chemistry made it even better.

I especially loved how every character has their own story happening in the background. There’s a lot going on, but somehow it never feels too busy. Everything flows together perfectly and makes me even more invested in the entire group—not just the main couple.

The heartache. The friendships. The banter. The romance. THE CHARACTERS. 🥹

I’m officially HOOKED on this series. Considering I inhaled the first two books in less than a day, I think that speaks for itself. 😂

Now I just have one question…

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO WAIT FOR BOOK 3?! 😭📚❤️‍🔥

This was an amazing sequel to Hate at First Text! I absolutely loved Yvaine and Logan in book one and didn’t know if they could possibly make me love them any more but they absolutely did. I loved getting really know them on a deeper level in this book, we get a deeper look into Logan and some of his mysterious secrets including some of his past we had yet to discover. And I loved see Yvaine grow in this book and start to come out of her shell a little bit!! And their romance OMG don’t get me wrong still a slow-burn even though these two are mates but boy oh boy do they keep the tension dialed up and anticipation at an all time high while they dance around each other trying to find their perfect groove! Over all this was an absolutely stunning sequel that I couldn’t put down and made me so excited to see what’s going to happen in book three and one I definitely recommend grabbing right away!
