Murder 42 was the title of the homemade video that shocked Scottsdale detectives and special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The killer on the video never reveals his face, and with few leads, the FBI doesn't believe they will ever find him. The video falls into the lap of Special Agent Gio Adami, now an Assistant Special Agent in Charge in the prestigious Behavioral Science Unit, and he turns to the one person he knows can help Sarah King. The video shocks Sarah to her core and leads her on a bloody quest to find the monster who made it, and to the one place she doesn't want to into her own mind. With Murder 42, bestselling author Victor Methos creates a breathtaking thriller taking you from the art galleries of Los Angeles, to the seedy pornography dens of Arizona. Revealing aspects of our society most people know nothing about, he illuminates that place from which all evil the human heart.

This book is uniquely awful. It suffers on two separate issues. First is the utter abject horror the author shoe horns into everything. The main character, Sarah, is a psychic. Every person she encounters is a new level of evil. She never touches someone who has been good or has been treated well, they are either horribly abused and / or horribly abusive. The criminal is evil, the individuals are evil, every one is evil.

Then there is the sheer absurdity of it. The FBI; have been referred to by others as 'Famous But Incompetent' live up to that moniker. The FBI agents in this story fly around the country, break laws, never use back up, never use those awesome FBI powers like getting someone's email or running a background check. They complain about their low salary and stay in skid row hotels. They make deals with child pornographers to get info. They never get a warrant and they show up at people's homes at all hours of the day and night.

The story is so silly that you are baffled. And there are inconsistencies from the previous book.

Here's another author I will be avoiding in the future.

Passable

Not one of Methos’ best reads. Major continuity error from the first book in the series. The main character Sarah gets on a plane for the first time... again in this book. Lack of effort

It draws you in and even if you don’t want to keep reading you need to know how it ends.

Thrilling page turner!

I’ve read the other book in this series and I was hooked from the start. Not only did Methos capture the action of each scene I definitely felt the level of anticipation building up page after page as they got closer to catching these criminals! Would recommend. The only thing I have to say is that I did feel like the endings were sort of rushed to conclude the stories but nonetheless it was a nice series for a quick read!

Good story

I enjoyed the continuation of Sarah's story from the Blood Dahlia and how she learned to cope with her gift. You teased a new adventure, but I hope it doesn't include another "first" airplane ride.

Great reading

This was another excellent story by Methos. His main character is such an intriguing person and her abilities are truly believable. Looking forward to reading his next book!

It's a small detail, but an irritating one. She rode on a plane for the first time in the first book, yet she does it again here. Sloppy/lazy.

"A Chilling Thriller"

A homemade video comes into the hands of the Scottsdale, Arizona Police Department. It shows the killer (but not his face) brutalizing his victims. The FBI does not think there is not enough evidence to find the killer, but assigns Special Agent Gio Adami to the case. He has permission for Sarah King to assist him; she has special psychic talents which Gio can count on. This is a breathtaking thriller for sure! Author Methos never disappoints his readers. Highly recommend.

Stick with legal crimes

I devour all books by Methos. I truly enjoy reading his books and always look forward to the next one but I was really disappointed with this one. The first book of the Sarah King mysteries was good, this book felt as though the timing was way off. They were catching planes one minute and then were back to the original place in minutes. The main character, Sarah, was portrayed as a beauty and all men were drawn to her. Sarah was shy one minute and ready to bed some new guy in the next minute. Just was not up to par with Method other books.

Book 2 doesn't disappoint!

I couldn't wait to read the 2nd book of the series. As I got into the first several chapters, I felt disappointment because the story wasn't following the 1st book like I wanted. However, not being able to put the book down, I suddenly understood why and a hell of a story it turned out to be. I am immediately going to read number 3 to see where the twist in the story takes me. I really enjoy this author's books. 5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Series

I like to read series and this author has produced several. It's easy summer reading and his writing flows ( although this book's subject matter was a little disturbing).
My only criticism is that he needs an editor to point out the inconsistencies. In this book, one of them is that Sarah had never flown before. However, in book #1, she flew to Atlanta as her first airplane experience.
Just saying.

Truly amazing series.

This author knows how to spin an amazing and thrilling story. Intriguing. The story draws you in and takes you on a spin that's captivating. Waiting on the edge of my seat, kindle in hand for the next installment in the Sarah King ride. Deserves to be made into a movie.

I enjoyed the second book of this series. I thought Sarah's 'gift' may start to become unbelievable, but thankfully I was wrong. I like that not all the characters remained the same from book 1 to 2 and the plot was different from the first and not set in the same place. Looking forward to book 3.

They say the fruit doesn't call far from the tree

This is probably the 15 book I have read from this author, and I am hoping there is a #3 for this series. All of them have been solidly interesting. Some shared constructs to be sure but stories flow well across three series. Check one out, see what you think!😷

All I can say is “WOW”

Very interesting reading. I know we live in a strange time and I know there are aspects of life we don’t want to know about, but this second in this series almost gave me a scare. Do these things really go on in the under-world? This is a view of a very seedy, disgusting part of a very dark place.

As good if not better than first book

I've become a real fan of Victor Methods books! He makes you feel the book. Sarah King series is about law and order with a twist of special powers. I like his stories, each book series is different from each other. As always I highly recommend this author and his books

Gruesome

This book was riviting. The details gruesome, descriptions of killing almost too painful to read.
Method is a master of unimaginable ways to kill people. What I like best in thrillers.
Really enjoyed hoe Sarah's ability developed throw both books. Hope he continues this series.

Read in one sitting at the hospital.

I liked this a lot but several inconsistencies within the story and referencing back to the first. I should be a paid reviewer looking for these things. I'm cheap if anyone reads this.

Sarah lives on

Murder 42 was just as good if not better than the first one, I recommend it for everyone, good fast read. Might be a little unbelievable, but what’s a good book without it!

Murder 42

Very good book, one that was hard for me to put down. I was late for supper several times because it was difficult to find a stopping place. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more of his books.

Is there a book 3?

I read both Blood Dahl is and Murder 42.I like the author's style in that it is precise and he doesn't indulge in in lengthy descriptions. The murder scenes are graphic but the author deals with them matter of factly.

Read this book in one sitting, couldn't stop.

Won't give away any spoilers, just have to read it yourself. An emotional rollercoaster for sure. Hope their are more books to follow in this series.

I enjoyed this book but felt it lacked something. The fist book was much better with the intensity of the case and the hunt for killer.

It started off strong and then towards the end it seemed a bit rushed to get to its conclusion. Although same it was an entertaining read.

Brilliant!

I love Sarah Kings character...real but unreal all in one. I don't know if she appears in any other of Victors other books but i hope so...this is a departure i think from his courtroom stuff but still just as gripping. The man is a genius!
