Body Swap, Cysts, Curtains, Mukbang, the Dark Web, Incels, and Penises (lots of them)…
This sinful anthology brings you the seven deadly sins through the minds of some of my favourite authors, plus illustrations and interludes by Oscar Brady that are, in my opinion, the cherry on top of the cake.
You’ve got the bizarre, the gory, the disgusting, the ridiculous, and a whole lot of fun. I couldn’t stop reading it, and I dare say it’s one of the best anthologies I’ve ever laid my eyes on.
That said… I’ll never look at a sloth the same way again, and I might never buy curtains again, but it was totally worth it.
A sloth body swap, a set of vengeful sentient curtains, and the largest cyst that the pimple popping world never gets to see… do I have your attention yet?
Each story in this anthology focuses on one of the seven deadly sins, and some of them definitely ran with their sin in a literal sense, while some others took it in a much different direction. Looking at you, James.
Our sloth story included an actual sloth, that ends up body swapping with what’s you could say is a lazy man, and then gets revenge on the owners of the facility where he’s been kept for years, enduring unspeakable horrors by disgusting human men. Did I mention this is a direct prequel to a story I talked about last month?
In ‘does the carpet match the drapes’, a woman is maliciously catcalled, and somehow ends up taking her wrath filled rage out on the catcaller as a set of fabulous drapes. Literally this one was gruesome af, but I was laughing my ass off.
In Penis, we’ve got a guy that’s literally just onsessed with and jealous of every other man’s weiner. But not in a way that your mind immediately goes to. It’s so much worse than that.
In our Gluttony story, one mukbang internet star feels exposed when she forgets to turn off the camera, and goes to some very disgusting and viscerally disturbing lengths to try to fix it.
And in our List story, three men decide to fuck around, but boy do they find out REAL quick.
As with most works from the twisted mind of Oscar Brady and all the participating authors.. this anthology isn’t going to sit well with just anybody. You’ve gotta be a special kind of screwy to enjoy this stuff.
Screwy Sloth Sleepover. A mysterious book. A screwy sloth sleepover. Revenge is a dish best served with claws. So much fun!
Viral Appetite. Victoria is a muckbanger with a point to prove. What ends will she go to, to prove it? Splendiferous body horror that had me wincing!
The Girls at Bella Carne. Improper thoughts in God’s house lead the boys to The Bella Carnae. But will it turn out to be The Hotel California? I really enjoyed this one!
The Drapes of Wrath. Vienna’s concentration dips as she’s being followed. What ensues is a carnage of bodily horror. loved this one!
Penis. An obsession with the falic sygil has dire consequences. This story is wild. Oddly this story also takes a look at the class system! Very clever!
Avarice. She gets her kicks the cystic way! This gave me all the gross vibes I was looking for.
Unhinged. Val develops a totally unhinged obsession. His obsession only grows and grows. This story was insane and packed chocca full with body horror! A delight!
I especially enjoyed the interludes from Oscar. It gave a curated feel and the illustrations are sick! This anthology is strong! I enjoyed each and every story so so much! Definitely a read deserving of a book trophy.
Firstly thank you sooo much Oscar for sending me this ARC, it was the best surprise to open! An anthology that’s centered around the 7 deadly sins…but make it extreme & silly…Yaaaas to this!!
I bloody love Oscars brain 🤣 the welcome introduction alone already had me smiling. Also the illustrations through out this anthology are absolutely incredible! I want them all 😌
7 sins, 7 authors:
-Screwy Sloth Sleepover by James Oliver 🦥 -Viral Appetite by Risshan Adele 🪱 (this was one of my faaaavs, I love Risshan’s crazy mind so much 😅🫶🏻) -The Girls At Bella Carne by M.J.Rowe 🔪🍽️ -The Drapes Of Wrath by Klaus Kinion (I’ve been wanting to read more from Klaus since his debut & this did not disappoint) 🤣 -Penis by Ryan Danley 🍆 (this was also one of my favourites 🤭) -Avarice by RJ Powell -Unhinged by Jerry Blaze 🫣
They were all absolutely brilliant & Oscars interludes had me giggling like a school girl 🤣 This was perfect anthology, I laughed, gagged & winced my way through it!

Well now, here's an extreme horror anthology that masterfully combines bone-crunching horror with graphic descriptions of violence and depraved sex, without skimping on the humor, the kind that's utterly morbid, dark, and macabre: from the opening story, James Oliver's "Screwy Sloth Sleepover", which is as funny and depraved as it sounds (yes, it has sloths; yes, they screw - but there's also body swap, bestiality, and even a docking session! if you don't know what that is, the story will fully educate you) to Jerry Blaze's brilliant splatterpunk story of "Unhinged" (an entertaining and very topical excursion into teenage violence and urban malaise, by way of internet shock sites), this anthology of seven short stories has a nasty surprise for everyone!
Right in the middle, Ryan Danley's "Penis" (note the quotation marks!): I've never read a story on penis envy mentioning the word "penis" so often, or describing the male appendage it refers too with so much detail and vigor! In between, you get mukbangs and tapeworms (Risshan Adele's "Viral Appetite"), lasagna cooked by beautiful women with a weak spot for flesh (M.J. Rowe's "The Girls at Bella Carne"), haunted drapes (Klaus Kinion's "The Drapes of Wrath"), even supernatural dermoid cysts (R.J. Powell's "Avarice"). To top it all off, there are Oscar Brady's hilarious "Interludes", his intros to each tale: the occasional tidbit of advice ("Remember, kiddos, only purchase your intestinal parasites from reliable sources.") is surely much appreciated!
The theme is the Seven Deadly Sins, but Oliver's, Blaze's, and Powell's stories went above and beyond! I eagerly recommend them irrespective of theme or genre. They perfectly exemplify how to use gag-inducing moments of filth and darkness as integral parts of narrative rather than gimmicks.
If you enjoy pitch-black humor, bizarre twists, and hugely disturbing entertainment - and you feel brave enough-, don't let this one pass you by!
Deadly: A Sinful Anthology of Extreme Horror 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This is a fantastic anthology from 7 different authors. All of the short stories are extreme, and I couldn’t pull my eyes away from reading them! I zipped through this collection quickly! It consists of jaw dropping and wildly horrific stories! There’s depravity, gore, humor and lots of sins! I loved all 7 of the stories, but my top stand outs are:
• Viral Appetite by Risshan Adele • The Girls at Bella Carne by M.J. Rowe • Avarice by R.J. Powell • Unhinged by Jerry Blaze
This anthology is a must read for extreme lovers!! I was lucky to get an arc of this amazing collection! Some of the authors are new to me and I’m excited to look up more of their books!
**This book comes out July 1st and I highly recommend the read!!**
I had a ton of fun with this anthology. So many good stories from authors I love and some new to me authors as well! Gross, extreme, funny, but also all so very creative. I love the theme of seven deadly sins offered up, and Oscar Brady’s Goopy Skull making an appearance with commentary before each story had me in stitches! Definitely a treat for Splatterpunk fans!
This anthology features a perfect balance of gore, humor, gross-out gags, and commentary on the innately sinful nature of humankind. Prepare to laugh and then potentially vomit before recoiling in horror and clutching your genitals.
Ever wonder what the seven deadly sins would be in the extreme horror world? This anthology was solid! Every story packing a punch! One if the best anthologies of the year
