Court of Demons and Shadows

A deadly prophecy. A race against time. A heartbreaking sacrifice.

No matter where we turn, darkness follows, and the bonds we’ve built are fraying at the seams. If we’re going to stand a chance against our ruthless enemies, we need all the help we can get. But with half of the fae and the other races already tainted by the darkness, will we be able to fight them off and fulfill the prophecy before it’s too late? Or will the world as we know it be destroyed forever?

Thank you Heather D Grace for giving me a spot on your ARC team to read this series in exchange for honest reviews!

Moon blessed, our Tessa was not going to finish that prophecy without some struggles. I love the bond Cyrus and Merry created. I ended up loving Carson, I’m glad to say. Shout, even Darian turned out alright in the end!

With the project complete and a lot of rebuilding happening, our chosen one proved to all that every race needs community, and that they’re all better together than apart.

A face paced, slow burn, adventure for those who love magic and mythical creatures. I’m glad I read it ✨

Thank you to the author Heather for allowing me to Arc read this full series. It has been a pleasure to follow her journey. All views are my own.

I was excited to read this one and find out once and for all if Tessa and the gang could overcome the Skaith and return peace to all of Auriella. After everything that was thrown at them on the path to complete the prophecy, I knew that there would be more hurdles to cross in this final book, and I was more than ready for them. Without giving any spoilers, I will say that the growth of the characters across the series was well written. I enjoyed seeing how they shed they were able to put aside their differences to work together. Our FMC Tessa has an energy about her that draws almost everyone to her and her cause, even if it does take mending some barriers. Her vision for a better Aurellia has opened the eyes of many during her journey. I loved seeing her family grow, from the return of dad Carson, and the many friends she made along the way. I was pleased that the last chapters wrapped the series up neatly, and found them a very fitting ending.

*SPOILER FREE REVIEW*

Some things to note:

*Book #6: you MUST read the first 5 in order as each book ends in a cliffhanger (as well as a prequel!)
*POV: dual 1st person between Tessa and Neil
*Spice: Yes!

In preparation for this final book that I was in no way ready for, I went back and reread the first 5 book as well as the prequel and I am so glad I did. We pick up right where we left off, as I knew we would and boy do we dive in. It has been way too long since I have been truly satisfied with the ending to a series. While I personally was not ready to let go, this end was really well thought out and got the ending it deserved and not in a predictable happily ever after way at all. In no way could I have pictured an ending like this. I have laughed with these characters, I have cried with these characters. To see this series end with such care has been a real joy. I definitely, without a doubt, highly recommend this series.

I am an ARC reader for this series, all opinions are my own.

Court of demons and shadows is the final book from author Heather D Grace and her Hidden Court of the Fae series. This is the most action-packed book yet!!! Every chapter had something exciting happening and you couldn't wait to read what was going to happen next!
Tessa and Neil are attempting to complete their quest to rid their world of evil and bring balance back. In order to complete the ritual and cleanse the world, they are going to need the help of everyone that they have crossed paths with. Tensions between Fae and the other races do not make this task easy. And knowing that the head of the Skath is related to our FMC makes Tessa take a hard look at what she's doing and if completing the ritual is the right thing to do.
I don't want to put out any spoilers, you've got to read it! But, I think this is an excellent book and a great finale to the series. I would love to see a little novella showing us what happens in the future.

The final, epic installment of the Hidden Courts of the Fae series and wowza it did NOT disappoint!
It picks right up where the last book left off. Aurellia is in shambles trying to fend off against the Skáth and the darkness they bring. Our MC’s and their entourage of found and actual family are trying to bring the Prophecy to fruition and despite everything seeming to be stacked against them, they will stop at nothing to make it happen and hopefully bring unity and peace to all the realms.
Tess and Neil are still slooooowwwwww burning, but the growth of their relationship is incredible and I adore it. The friends they have picked up along the way have taken a special place in my heart. This book has it all- love, loss, heartbreak, betrayal, epic battle scenes, and the ending concludes the series so beautifully. Highly recommend picking it up, and am so thankful to have had the opportunity to read it all as ARC copies!

We have come to the final book of this fantastic series and the author does not let us down. Holding us to the edge of our seat the whole read, we find ourselves once again immersed into this incredible world as secrets come to light and many questions are answered. Our characters have been through the mill in this one and but have come out the other side following the twists and turns thrown in their path, to make it to ending worthy for them. Action packed and brimming with danger, betrayal, drama and so much more as Tessa and Neil do what they can to fulfill the prophecy before it’s too late and stop the world from being destroyed. More battles to fight and obstacles to overcome, this held me in its grips till the very end when I could finally catch my breath.

The finale!!!! This book wrapped up the series very nicely, answering the billions of questions I had after book 5 and having the sweetest ending ever. I loved how we got a little glimpse into how all the main characters lives will be after all the crazy battles were done.
We finally get to see what the crew has been working toward and I went back and forth so many times wondering if they'll be successful. Even though I knew it was the last book, it was still exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat until the end. And that ending!! My heart was exploding, oh my goodness. If you've been reading the rest of this series, you will not be disappointed with this grand finale <3
I received an ARC.

I got the pleasure of beta reading for the final book of In Hidden Courts of the Fae.

I absolutely loved this conclusion Heather ties everything up perfectly.

This one just like all the others moves extremely fast you won’t be able to put it down. All our favorites are back and right where the last one left off. Teresa and Neil have come so far but their adventure is not over they still have some pieces to figure out and let’s just say hold on tight because it’s a nail biter tell the end.
Okay so I did laugh out at many parts, so I still have some nails.

I’m not spoiling anything! This book is the final and Heather pulled out all the stops in this one but the end is phenomenal! 💜

What an ending to an amazing series! This book was so action-packed up until the very end! All the twists and turns were so exciting to see unfold. All the secrets that are uncovered in this book really added to the overall plot. The HEA is very hard earned and such a relief after all they've been through. I'm so sad this journey is over, but every book just got better and better as the story progressed ❤️ I'd love to see a novella for after the prophecy is fulfilled to follow the court and our found family with all the changes that happen within the last few chapters...also just because I can't believe it's over 🥲

Well, I am always a little upset when a series comes to an end, but I love it when the end is a perfect one. This is a perfect end to the series. I’ve loved Tessa and Neil’s relationship, and I adore it that he came so far from the beginning, and he acknowledges that at the end, too. Not only that, but there is action galore, twists and turns, and some unexpected developments. All things were tied up at the end, and there was one tiny thing I was a little sad for, but it didn’t really spoil my enjoyment. Fans of this series will definitely love this concluding title. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

An epic ending to Tessa and Neil's story! A great read to round out this slow-paced epic fantasy romance. I loved that even though I thought I had pieced together exactly how this story would end, there were still plenty of surprises! The love story was wonderful, and the adventure great! I loves the truths presented to in this great fantasy, made the ending hit home that much more. What a great story!

This final book is one constant battle to beat the darkness with the help of all the species groups & come to an agreement in the end. King Asmodeus didn’t seem so bad by the end, just had bad things happen to him & his love in the past that tainted his views & he had been acting accordingly. I was really rooting for Tessa to give at least King Asmodeus a hug in the end before he left.. But there is a HEA for most of the people.

The end to a great series. It took me awhile because I have been tired this week with work, but I finally finished. It was a great ending to this series and it is a great series to read from start to finish. This picks up where the last book ends and they have to find how to stop the skath from taking over everything. Tessa and Neil are great characters to follow on this journey. Sad that it ended but it was a good one!

What an adventure. Tessa's journey is definitely one for the books. From learning about who she really is and realizing that her world is much bigger than the world she has grown to know. Her and Neils journey was full of action, betrayal, tension, heartbreak, grief, redemption all leading to an epic love worth fighting for. This has been an enjoyable series to get lost in.

Well done! This final book of the series was full of action and emotion. The found family aspect of this whole story most definitely my favorite part. Following these characters through their trials and challenges has been a journey with many unexpected twists along the way. And in true fantasy fashion, we ended with some great twists and turns. Worth it!

I received this book as an ARC. I have read all of this series and Heather did an amazing job! The books all flowed together so I didn’t feel the need to do a reread in preparation for the final book.
This book has its all…fantasy, magic, love, family, fighting, redemption and growth. The series as a whole was a good easy read.

This is the final book of the Hidden Courts of the Fae series. Everyone came together for a final battle to save what was good, some received redemption, bonds were tested and strengthened, and they were given a well-deserved happy ending.

Book one was one of my first ARC reads and while I’m sad to say goodbye to this world, I’m thrilled this didn’t end in another gut wrenching cliffhanger 😂

This picks up right after the events of book 5, so it’s immediately action packed. Like all the other books in the series, this is VERY fast paced. Blink and you’ll miss something important. I absolutely love Tessa and Neil’s relationship. They’ve come so far since Neil’s grumpy ass in the first book. I also absolutely adore their ever-growing family. There were plenty of twists and turns as usual and the best part is that I predicted very little of what was going to happen. Everything wraps up nicely at the end. I’m really happy with how this series ended.

What a perfect ending to a series that completely stole my heart.

I've had the privilege of ARC reading this entire series, and I honestly feel so lucky to have followed these characters from the very beginning. Watching these characters grow over six books has been so rewarding and Court of Demon and Shadow delivered everything I was hoping for in a finale.

Can we talk about Neil for a second?
Because WOW.
If you had told me after book one that Neil would become one of my favorite characters, I never would have believed you. He started out as one of the most frustrating characters (seriously... he tested my patience), which made his growth even more satisfying. By the end of this series, he had become such a loyal, compassionate and selfless man. His character arc is easily one of my favorite parts of the entire series.

Tessa's journey has been just as incredible. Watching her learn to embrace, control and fight her darker side has been fascinating from the very beginning, and seeing her finally step into her power in this book was everything I wanted. She's become such a strong, complex, and fearless heroine.

And the action...
Heather seriously does not believe in giving her readers a chance to breathe.

Every time I thought things might slow down... nope. Something else happened. Another twist. Another battle. Another impossible situation. I kept saying, "Just one more chapter," and before I knew it, I was flying through the book because I had to know what happened next.
This finale gave me everything I love:
Amazing character growth
Nonstop action
Emotional moments that hit me right in the heart
Twists that kept me guessing
A conclusion that felt both satisfying and well deserved

As much as I loved this ending, I'm also a little heartbroken that it's over. Saying goodbye to these characters and this world isn't easy. They've become so special to me over the course of this series, and I'm going to miss them so much.

Heather, thank you for taking us on this incredible journey. This series will always hold a special place in my heart, and I already can't wait to see what you write next.

Thank you for trusting me with an ARC. As always, these are my honest thoughts.

Court of Demons and Shadows is the sixth and final book in Grace's Hidden Courts of the Fae series. This a slow burn, urban fantasy romance featuring Tessa and Neil. This book picks up where the fifth, Court of Wings and Spirit, left off. This series should be read in order as these book are not standalone stories.

Usually I take notes while reading a book. It helps me to write up my review after I'm done. Well, when I got to the end of this one, it seemed I hadn't taken the time to jot down a single comment. I was quite obviously so thoroughly engaged that I neglected to take the time to write anything down. I think that's quite telling.

In this final installment, Grace wraps up the series and leaves readers quite satisfied. No surprise though that there was a lot going on between the covers allowing Tessa to fulfill her role in the prophecy, defeat King Asmodeus and the skáth, and bring not only peace to the land but a new dynamic where all its inhabitants are respected and appreciated, not just the fae.

I appreciated how Grace wrapped up all the lose threads and often wonder if the ending is decided in the beginning of the series, or if it reveals itself over time. This was an enjoyable series and I was glad to see Tessa and Neil get their much deserved happily ever after in the end.

I don't know what Grace has in store for her readers, but I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for her next release.

Tessa’s story comes to an end with this book.

Her journey alongside new friends & Neil have left all of them feeling ragged & beyond tired.

But they are doing everything in their power to help right the wrongs & fix what had been broken.

They have new battles to face. Especially against all of the skaith. They keep running into new obstacles that leave them stumped.

But they still persevere & manage to find the solutions that help everyone.

This was definitely a fight that had been a long time coming. Tessa has been fighting for so long to save everyone. Those final chapters were chaotic & stressful but man was that ending so worth it.

A part of me always loves a future epilogue that shows a bit into the future & I always hope for that but this ending was so Tessa & Neil.

Amazing job!

What an incredible finale! The sixth and final book in Hidden Courts of Fae by Heather D. Grace brought the whole story together beautifully. The world building as always is superb and captivating. I absolutely could not stop reading this book once I started. The growth of all of the characters is phenomenal. I thought each character showed more depth, but none more so than the MC'S, Tessa and Neil. They were all very entertaining and engaging keeping you turning the pages. There is action, adventure, betrayal, twists and turns, surprises you don't see coming, and magic. The way Heather tied everything together is amazing, and gratifying. I absolutely love this book and series and I highly recommend reading this book and series!
