When their lives unexpectedly become intertwined, they have to figure out how to trust each other, care for their kids together, and maybe… accidentally fall in love along the way.
Mia’s story genuinely broke my heart. Watching her live with the aftermath of domestic violence —the flinching, crying, covering herself, and becoming frightened when someone raises their voice— was so painful. I really loved her heart and how deeply selfless she was. She constantly put everyone else before herself, and honestly that made me want to grab her by the shoulders and yell, “HONEY GIRL, YOU MATTER TOO” 😭
One of my favorite parts was watching Greyson slowly teach her that taking care of herself wasn’t selfish. I also really loved how they began taking care of each other without even realizing that was what they were doing. Those quieter moments of comfort and safety were definitely where this book worked best for me
That being said… I had some issues😭
→ Greyson was portrayed as extremely guarded and unwilling to let people into his life, yet he trusted Mia enough to become his nanny pretty quickly. It felt a little inconsistent with the personality we were initially given??
→ Their relationship felt very insta love to me
→ I struggled with the pacing and execution of several plot points: 1) Mia’s ex-husband is presented as incredibly controlling and possessive, but his involvement comes muchhhhhh later than expected.
2) The storyline surrounding Greyson’s father’s business and its secrets felt like it was introduced with more importance than it ultimately received
→ But my biggest was this: I REALLY struggled with the sexual relationship between Mia and Greyson, especially because of everything Mia had just survived. She had spent so much of the book dealing with the physical and emotional aftermath of domestic violence, so seeing her jump into a sexual dynamic that became rough with Greyson made me really uncomfortable. It felt like it came out of nowhere for me, and I didn’t feel like the transition into that side of their relationship was handled with enough care considering her history. I understand that she trusted him and that he made her feel safe in ways her ex never did, but something about how quickly she went from being so affected by her past to being comfortable with something that felt so intense just didn’t sit right with me. It left me with an icky feeling that I couldn’t quite shake
also... that ending with Carter?? 😭 WAY more intense than I expected.
Overall, there were definitely pieces I loved, especially Mia’s emotional journey, her healing, and the found-family elements, but the execution of several plot points kept me from fully connecting with the story

There’s something about watching someone who’s been through so much finally start to feel safe again that gets me every time.
Mia’s story was definitely the emotional center for me. She’s so used to putting everyone else first, and seeing her slowly learn that she deserves care too made me really root for her. Greyson’s quiet, protective nature was such a good match for her, especially in those little moments where he made her feel safe without making a big deal out of it.
I really liked watching these two slowly become part of each other’s lives. Their relationship had plenty of sweet, comforting moments, and I enjoyed seeing them start taking care of each other almost without realizing it. And honestly, the girls were such a highlight. Their friendship and the growing found-family dynamic brought so much warmth to the story and gave me some of my favorite moments.
The romance moved a little faster than I expected after the slower build, and some of the suspense elements stayed more in the background than I anticipated, but I still felt invested in their journey.
Between the healing, protective romance, and family moments, this was an emotional and comforting read that left me with plenty of warm feelings.

Peaches & Pistols packed an emotional punch with an abused woman on the run with her six year old daughter, who finds true love and family in a small Colorado town.
Overall, I really loved Mia and Greyson’s story. Both of them have a lot of hurt (for different reasons) and find healing and acceptance in each other. However, I kind of hated their romance. All that tension and slow burn flipped a switch into instalove and it just didn’t work for me. Also the barn scene with a certain someone just didn’t really fit the vibe of the book either.

Okay so this is my first Amanda Jayne book and it will not be the last, let me tell you that. This book was fantastic and I binge read it yesterday.
Mia has escaped her abusive husband and ends up with her daughter Everly in a small town where she meet Greyson, a single dad to Harper. Greyson is in need of a nanny to Harper and Mia is in need of a job.
This story is not only heartwarming, it's emotional, dark and heartbreaking as well.
First of all, the kids absolutely stole my heart. Everly and Harper, reading about them was amazing and beautiful. Best friends. I loved to read about these two and to see them become sisters is just great.
Greyson and Mia's relationship was slowburn and it was so great to get to see their relation grow to something more. Greyson is so protective over Mia and Everly and I love it. We do love a protective mmc you all.
The family dynamic in this book is absolute fire and I love the messages between all of them, hilarious. Everyone welcomed her and Everly with open aems and made her feel like family. Mia is so caring about everyone and to see her care for both Greyson and Harper, beautiful.
The way Greyson is around Mia when she gets flashbacks or gets reminders from her abusive husband, the support Greyson gives is everything. Greyson treats her right and it’s beautiful to see. Him being there for her she can open up and tell her story 🩷
I had a great time reading this and if you love the tropes down below, it’s the perfect read for you. Amanda, you have done such a good job with this book. Amazing.

Mia, I loved your story. Your guts and grit to get you and your daughter out of the ugly situation. To land where you felt safe and tried to find a new normal. You found that and so much more in a small town in Colorado.
Mia and Greyson have not had it easy, plenty of hurt. But they took it slow and rebuilt themselves, and eventually the trust. I loved their slow burn. Plenty of emotion, so much family and heart. I recommend this book and the series.

Oh, I loved Mia and Greyson. This one had me stressed from the beginning and then completely wrapped up in the slow burn, the family moments, and these two slowly learning they could trust each other.
Mia is doing everything she can to keep her daughter safe and build a new life for them. When she ends up living under the same roof as Greyson, a guarded single dad who likes his life very controlled, neither of them is looking for love. But somewhere between parenting their girls, sharing a home, and slowly letting their walls down, they start becoming something that looks a whole lot like a family.
The relationship between Mia and Greyson was my favorite kind of slow burn. Nothing felt rushed. I loved that Amanda gave them time to actually get to know one another and build trust before the romance really took over. With everything Mia has been through, that patience mattered, and it made their connection feel so much more believable.
And Greyson! He may be a man of few words, but I loved his steady, protective presence. Watching him go from someone who doesn't easily let people into his life to someone who genuinely wants Mia and her daughter there was so sweet.
But the girls were honestly one of my favorite parts of the entire book. Watching these four people slowly settle into life together gave me so many of those warm found-family moments I love. The way Mia and Greyson learned to parent alongside each other made the relationship feel like so much more than just the romance.
There is definitely a darker side to this story too. Mia's past is never far away, and that added enough tension and danger to keep me turning the pages. Domestic violence is a theme throughout the book, so I highly recommend checking the trigger warnings before reading.
This was my first book in the Lucky Spurs Ranch series, and now I need to go back and read books one and two while I wait for book four because Olivia and James...oh my gosh. I already need that story. 🤠

There were SO many things I loved about this book, but ultimately, it fell short of what I was really wanting from the story.
What I loved: Greyson. ❤️ He is protective, caring, and supportive of Mia after everything she’s been through. I loved watching him love not only Mia but her daughter too. The found family was another favorite of mine. The Andersons are absolutely fabulous! 🥰 And I loved all the peach references and peach recipes throughout the book. 🍑
But here’s where it fell short for me…
The ex-husband doesn’t really reappear until the end. If he was as possessive and controlling as I was led to believe, I expected him to be hunting Mia down much sooner. Greyson does all this research, and I kept waiting for something bigger to come from it, but ultimately, it didn’t really lead anywhere.
I needed more suspense in this one. Greyson being a collector of secrets was such an interesting angle, and I thought it could have brought some darker elements into the story. I just wanted MORE from that side of the book.
I also struggled with the BDSM aspects. After everything Mia had experienced in her abusive relationship, some of those elements just didn’t sit right with me and felt a little icky.
And one last thing… the title is Peaches & Pistols. I kept waiting for the pistol part! 😂 I expected a pistol to actually be used or at least play some role in the story, and it never really happened.

Woooow!! I loved every minute of this book!
This was given to me as an arc read and I loved every minute of this book. It was so wholesome and gave me everything I wanted from something like this.
The grumpy sunshine was so up there too, they way Greyson cared for all of the girls with no hesitation and even with the smallest inkling knew something had happened to her, he definitely gave off protective daddy bear when it came to her and the girls.
Both of the girls was another highlight they were just too funny together and definitely made the story good too.

This was given to me as an arc read and I loved every minute of this book. It was so wholesome and gave me everything I wanted from something like this.
The grumpy sunshine was so up there too, they way Greyson cared for all of the girls with no hesitation and even with the smallest inkling knew something had happened to her, he definitely gave off protective daddy bear when it came to her and the girls.

I loved this small town, found family romance.
You meet Mia and her daughter . Mia is leaving her douche bag husband and running to find a better life for her and Evelyn.
After 48 hours on the run they land in a small mountain town. Where a lady invites her to have coffee. She soon finds herself in a ranch with this amazing family. The family she has always dreamed of being apart of.
Greyson a single dad, owner of the town hardware store, and maybe something more. Is in desperate need of a nanny.
His family knows Mia is in trouble and running from something, and suggests to Greyson that he hire her. Greyson feels the need to protect Mia.
I loved this book so much. Could not get enough of these characters.

Mia and Greyson had such a wonderful story. Her on the run with her child. And him raising his alone. Both of them were dealing with a lot. But it was so awesome to see them come together as one big family. Despite pasts and Mia’s trying to catch up to her, these two were able to make things work. It was so sweet to see the kids get along so well also. This was such a beautifully written story. Absolutely loved seeing this family come together.

This story was so sweet!! I absolutely loved Greyson and Mia as a couple and as individuals. Mia’s past is a nightmare and seeing her at the end is so joyful. Greyson is your typical grumpy man with a heart of gold. The whole Andersen family is a dream crew. This story was so touching with some parts that had me nervous with suspense.

This story gave me so much more than I expected. It's heartwarming and romantic, but it's also emotional, heartbreaking, suspenseful, and at times incredibly heavy. At the center of it all is a woman who finds the courage to save herself and her daughter, and a family that shows them what it feels like to finally be safe.
Mia Whitaker is running from an abusive husband with her young daughter, Everly. After roughly 48 hours on the road, exhausted and unsure what comes next, they land in a small Colorado mountain town where a chance encounter eventually brings them into the orbit of Greyson Clark and his family.
Greyson is a 37-year-old single dad raising his daughter, Harper. He's guarded, grumpy, protective, and likes his life very controlled. He also desperately needs a nanny.

These girls were easily one of my favorite parts of the entire book. Their friendship was so sweet and funny, and watching them naturally go from two little girls sharing a home to best friends and eventually sisters was BEAUTIFUL.
But I loved that the family-building extended beyond the girls too.
Mia doesn't simply care for Harper because she's her nanny. She forms a genuine relationship with her. Greyson doesn't look at Everly as an extension of the woman he's falling for either. He loves and protects that little girl too.
Eventually, Harper gets another mother to love her.
Everly gets the dad she deserves.
And Mia and Greyson aren't simply falling in love. These four people are slowly becoming a family before they've even fully realized that's what they're building. 🥹❤️
Then there is Greyson.
PROTECTIVE DADDY BEAR ACTIVATED. 😂🤠
Greyson is a man of few words with some serious walls around his heart, but he notices everything. He realizes very quickly that something has happened to Mia, even before he knows exactly what she's running from.
And what I loved most was that he didn't demand her story before offering his support.
He gave her time.
When something triggered a memory of her abusive husband, Greyson was there. When she struggled, he didn't make her feel weak. He created enough safety for Mia to eventually open up and tell him what she'd survived on her own terms.
That made their slow burn work so well for me.
With everything Mia had been through, I needed Greyson to earn her trust before the romance took over, and Amanda Jayne gave them that time. They parent beside each other, share a home, learn one another's routines, take care of the girls, and gradually start lowering their walls.
And underneath all that trust building is PLENTY of attraction. 🔥
Greyson may like control, but Mia certainly disrupts the carefully ordered life he's created. Watching this grumpy, guarded man go from reluctantly allowing Mia and Everly into his space to wanting them there permanently was everything.
What made me love Mia just as much was that Greyson never became the person who “saved” her.
Mia had already done that.
She was the one brave enough to take Everly and leave. She was the one willing to risk everything for her daughter. She was the one rebuilding their lives from the ground up.
Greyson didn't take that strength away from her. He simply showed Mia that she didn't have to carry everything alone anymore.
And in return, Mia gives Greyson something too.
She brings warmth into the life he's kept so controlled. She loves Harper. She cares for Greyson. She slowly gets behind those walls and shows him that letting people in doesn't automatically mean putting his daughter or his heart at risk.
They become each other's safe place.
The found family might be the soul of this entire story for me. ❤️
Mia and Everly are welcomed with open arms, and I LOVED the larger family dynamics. The messages between everyone had me laughing, and seeing this huge, loving, slightly chaotic group simply make room for Mia and Everly was incredibly heartwarming.
Mia spent so much time fighting to give her daughter a better life, but along the way, she finds something for herself too.
A support system.
People who care.
A man who loves her without hurting her.
Another daughter.
And a home where neither she nor Everly has to live in fear.
Of course, Mia's past hasn't disappeared just because she's found happiness. There is a darker suspense element running underneath all those warm family moments, and when the danger she's been running from threatens the life they're building, I was completely invested in seeing how everything would play out.
And let's just say Greyson's protective side gets an opportunity to SHINE. 👀😂
This was emotional, romantic, suspenseful, funny, and full of heart. I loved watching Mia reclaim her life, Greyson learn to let people into his, Harper and Everly become sisters, and four people who started as two separate families realize they belonged together.
I also somehow started with this book in the Lucky Spurs Ranch series, so now I need to go backward and read Books 1 and 2 while I wait for Book 4 because Olivia and James already have my attention. 😂🤠

This is the first novel from Amanda Jayne that I've read and it was such an adorable story! I'm ready for more.
Mia and Greyson absolutely stole my heart.
Mia, a single mom, is doing everything she can to build a safe life for herself and her daughter, Everly, after escaping an abusive relationship. At this point, I had already decided we must protect them at all costs... even if I had to jump into the story myself. They end up in Swiftwater and she's working as a live-in nanny for Mr. Grumpy himself, Greyson, who is a single dad and absolutely doesn't want to let anyone- and I mean anyone- into his carefully controlled world.
And I am here for it.
I love a good forced proximity story and when you mix in kiddos with the single parent life, you know things are going to get messy but in the end... hellooooo found family.
What really stood out to me is truly the family they build along the way. Mia and Everly aren't just finding a place to stay for a while, they're finding people who make them feel safe, wanted and like they belong there no matter what. Mia slowly learns what it means to actually be safe after everything she's survived - giving deeper emotional vibes for this romance.
Now Greyson? He's grumpy, protective and honestly... quietly caring. He's the kind of man who doesn't need to make a huge production out of caring, in fact, he's quite the opposite. He just does it. Not for the thanks, not for the glory... just because that's who he is. And when it comes to Mia and Everly? That protective side really comes out. For me a caring and protective man is peak sexy!
What I found absolutely adorable was Everly and Harper's relationship. The two girls becoming friends really built up those found-sisterhood vibes. I love when kids in the story really steal the show, and these two girls were absolutely precious. They weren't just background characters, they're truly a part of the story and a part of their parents' lives.
There are some heavier moments and themes in this story, mostly centered around Mia and her past, so definitely worth a peek at the trigger warnings just in case any of that hits too close to home for you. Your health and well-being are important! Underneath those darker elements is a story about healing, trust, finding your people and discovering that sometimes the family you didn't expect can become the family you needed all along.
And, let's be honest, give me a grumpy single dad who has a heart of gold and I am going to eat up this story.

This book was such an adorable read, and I was hooked from the very beginning! I love a single parent romance, so getting a single mom and single dad in this story was right up my alley. I really loved how Mia and Greyson’s story started, with Mia trying to build a better and safer life for herself and Everly, only to find herself exactly where she needed to be.
Mia is on the run from her abusive husband with her young daughter, Everly, and ends up in the small town of Swiftwater, Colorado. She needs a job and somewhere safe to stay, while Greyson is a grumpy single dad who desperately needs a nanny for his daughter, Harper. What starts as a simple arrangement quickly turns into something neither of them expected!
The kids completely stole my heart. Everly and Harper were easily one of my favorite parts of this story. Their friendship was so sweet and funny, and watching them become best friends and eventually sisters was absolutely beautiful. I loved seeing how naturally their little family came together!
The family dynamic was another favorite of mine. Everyone welcomed Mia and Everly with open arms and made them feel like they belonged. The messages and interactions between everyone were hilarious, and I loved how much warmth they brought to the story. This book really showed that family is about the people who love, support, and choose you.
And then there is Greyson. Protective daddy bear activated! We all love a protective MMC, and Greyson was exactly what Mia needed. He was patient, supportive, and incredibly protective of both Mia and Everly. I especially loved the way he handled Mia’s flashbacks and the reminders of her abusive husband. He never pushed her to open up before she was ready and instead gave her the safety and support she needed to eventually tell her story on her own terms.
Their slow burn was so good! Watching their relationship grow from helping each other and living under the same roof into something deeper felt so natural. They slowly learned each other, lowered their walls, and became a family without even realizing it was happening. Mi and Greyson together have my heart. Forced proximity... Yes! It fit their story so well. They are two single parents trying to navigate this new family dynamic work. Them trusting each other took some time but for reasons that make so much sense. Y'all... their attraction is something you can't mistake, it's there in spades... I was hooked from the get go
Mia is the definition of a strong mom and all the things she does for her daughter, is sweet. I enjoyed seeing discover a place where she felt safe and cared for, which she deserves. Greyson... What a complex man you are. I relate to having walls up due to your past so this part of the story hit home. He's hyper-focused on protecting his daughter (super attractive btw). Down side to that is he likes to control every part of his life but that's till Mia breaks through these walls. Watching her do so made this book absolutely beautiful and heart wrenching in the best way possible

I’m pretty sure that one of my favorite trope combos has to be age gap and FMC on the run. This combo together just does something to me and Peaches and Pistols ticks those boxes and then some!
It gave me everything I want from a single mom on the run romance with a hunky morally grey cowboy. It has danger humming under the surface, a fiercely protective MMC, and a found family that wraps around the FMC and her little girl like a blanket.
Mia (26) and her young daughter, Everly, show up in Greyson’s (37) world carrying fear, exhaustion, and a past they’re desperate to escape. They first meet Izzy in a time of sadness and frustration. Izzy brings them right into the fold, knowing that the Whitaker family can offer her sanctuary. The nanny job isn’t cute or convenient; it’s survival when Mia needs a safe place for her and her daughter while Greyson needs help with his own daughter, Harper. Mia is trying to build a life where Everly can finally breathe. And Greyson, with all his morally grey cowboy edges, sees that instantly. He doesn’t push her to confess what she’s running from. He just shows up for her in this steady, quiet way because he is already in love with the way she protects her daughter. The justice he gets for Mia is a total turn on, he would go to the ends of the earth for her and Everly. Love that he used his side hustle to find and ruin Mia’s POS ex because dealing in secrets really paid off.
Oh my gosh, I am not even joking when I say that the found family element is honestly the soul of this book. Greyson may not be a Whitaker by blood, but he and Harper are family and Cecilia proves it. She’s the Whitaker matriarch, all loyalty and fierce care, and the way she takes in Mia and Everly without hesitation made my heart squeeze. Watching Harper and Everly bond in that instant bestfriends way only kids can, and seeing Cecilia fold Mia into the family with the same warmth she’s always given Greyson, creates this beautiful sense of safety that makes the romance hit even harder. The Whitaker brothers, their wives and Greyson’s half-sister create this huge group of people supporting Mia and giving her the family she never had.
Loved seeing Mia reclaim herself and provide the life she always wanted for her daughter and in the process gain another daughter with Harper. The whole family becoming one was adorable. Harper gets a Mom, and Everly gets a Dad. It’s the cutest moment when they all become one happy family. Greyson is devoted to her happiness and I just loved that for both of them.
“Be mine, Mia. Because I’m already irrevocably yours. Let me love you and take care of you. Give me a chance to be a dad to Everly. I’ll give anything, be anything, you two need.”
Greyson and Mia’s story is not just a love story. It’s about rebuilding. It’s choosing each other. It’s finding a home where you never expected one. I laughed, cried, and smiled so much. I can’t believe I had never read anything by Amanda Jayne, but that changes now!

Note: Two chapters, only 5%, and I was already crying. 😭
I could relate to Mia and the…aftershocks…she experienced. So, of course, my heart was on the line alongside hers. She has great development throughout Peaches and Pistols. You can almost feel the tension leaving her body through each chapter. (Also: I have a daughter called Evarleigh so my emotions were probably a bit extra.)
Greyson is that sexy, older MMC we all crave in these books. He’s protective, fierce, maybe a bit mysterious. Very touch-her-and-die, my guy. Gimme, gimme.
The romance isn’t insta-lust that’s drawn out over several pages. It’s a slow burn with excellently paced buildup and maybe a touch of will they/won’t they. The spice is consent-only between these two and they use verbal communication throughout.
The children in this book really did capture my attention. They were written like actual children instead of this very mature or very whiny version I typically meet in books. (If I had to guess based on this and this alone, Amanda is probably a mother and actually likes her child/ren.)
The found family was so beautifully woven into the story of Mia and Everly’s journey to freedom. I haven’t read other work by Amanda Jayne but I do plan to and I do hope this series goes through each member of this found family. 🤞🏻

3.5 out of 5 stars. I really liked the idea and concept of this book, and I wanted to love it so much but unfortunately it just didn’t click with me they way I wanted it to. The writing was wonderful, and there were so many parts I loved. I love a good single dad/ single parent romance, it was wholesome to watch Greyson and Mia combine their little families. Greyson was so protective over both Mia and her daughter, and he cared so so deeply. The age gap, nanny x single dad, and FMC in danger tropes were all right up my alley. Where the story lost me a little was the progression of Mia and Greyson's relationship. I really liked how they started out with a professional and wholesome dynamic and even had their own way of communicating with each other. However, once they gave in to their feelings the relationship moved into instalove pretty quickly. Instalove is a tricky thing with me personally, I need that deeper connection behind it, its all very situational to me I could read the same book twice and feel different the second time that I did the first. But unfortunately with this one I didn’t fully connect with their relationship. Because I struggled to connect with their relationship I also had a harder time connecting with the characters. That's definitely more of a personal reading preference than a reflection of the story. By no means was there anything wrong with the book, it just didn’t hit for me in the way I was hoping. Overall a beautiful story with a good concept and some beautiful writing!

I was hooked on this book from the very beginning and I loved the story that was told. It was absolutely heartbreaking but I loved everything that happened after Mia and Everly escaped their unfortunate situation.
Mia is a single mom on the run to escape from her abusive ex. Her only goal is to get her little girl, Everly safe and give her the life she deserves. Mia didn’t have the best home life growing up and ended up with a monster that stole her independence. When she and Everly end up in Swiftwater, Colorado they are hoping things will start to turn around for them. When a bystander offers them help, they end up meeting the grumpy single dad Greyson.
Greyson is a single dad to sweet little Harper and tries all he can do to give her better than he had growing up. When he loses 6 Nannie’s in a short time span, he hoping lucky number 7 will stick. Enter the beautiful & timid, Mia. Greyson has an immediate need to protect Mia and Everly, and offers a place for them to stay if Mia helps him take care of Harper. How can he refuse when the two little girls become fast friends. Little does Greyson know that Harper isn’t the only girl that will steal his heart.
I loved that this book showed that blood isn’t what makes you family. The connection Mia has with not only Greyson but his little girl was may favorite to read about. These adults still have a little kid inside of them and just want to be loved. They deserve each other and I loved that what this family became.

Omg I LOVED this book so much!! 😭🍑🔫 Mia and Greyson together absolutely had my whole heart. The forced living together, the two single parents trying to figure out how to make this whole family thing work, the slow building trust and that undeniable attraction between them… I was ALL IN!!
Mia is such a strong mum and everything she does is for her daughter, and I loved watching her slowly find a place where she actually felt safe and cared for. And Greyson!!! This man had his walls UP and was so focused on protecting his daughter and controlling every part of his life, but watching Mia get through those walls was just everything. 🥹
But honestly my favourite part was the KIDS!!! 😭❤️ Watching the four of them bond and become this little family was so freaking adorable. I loved how naturally they connected and how Mia and Greyson learned to parent together. Those little family moments had me smiling like an idiot.

Mia and Greyson were perfect for one another. Mia escaped with her young daughter from an abusive husband. Greyson has a troubled family past and deep down he wants what he couldn’t have for him and his daughter.
Mia and her daughter travel as far as they can handle and end up in a small Colorado town where they meet Izzy who invites them to her husband’s family farm.
Mia and her daughter end up living with Greyson and his daughter as the live in nanny. The more the two get to know one another the more their feelings for each other grow. At the same time their daughters, even with a few years between them, become the best of friends!
While Mia and her daughter settle into a new routine and life Greyson helps Mia work through the abuse she was dealt by her not yet ex husband. She worries he will find them and punish them and Greyson does his best to show her they are safe and protected with him and his extended family.
It’s a beautiful love story because neither was looking to be in a relationship. It grew organically between shared notes, family dinners, and late evening talks about life, love, and family.

I want to start by saying how much I enjoyed the authors writing. She writes beautifully and I will definitely be picking up more of her work!
I always love a romance with small town, found family, and a slow burn . I enjoyed watching Mia and Greyson love and care for each others kid as if they were their own. I loved the moments of slow burn and yearning. The quiet and gentle moments where they saw each other, the loud and crazy moments where Greyson knew what Mia needed. I appreciated how aware of the situation Greyson was and how he treated Mia through everything. I liked how Greyson worked towards fixing things he never broke. Not pushing but quietly working with Mia to move forward with life, no matter how slow.
The slow burn at the beginning was great, I didn’t want to put the book down. But, that quickly faded when they acted on their feelings. Things quickly turned instalovey, something I don’t enjoy reading about. While it can happen in real life, I find it can make a book progress too fast and tends to lose a bit of plot with it. I was pulled from the book quite abruptly with that first “I love you”. I found it hard to get into the book or pick it back up after that.
There were still many things that I loved about this book, how warm and loving the whole family was, the characters too. But the romance definitely made me less interested than at the beginning.
I know this book will have absolutely no problem finding people who adore it cover to cover!

Ate it up & left no crumbs. This is my favourite Amanda Jayne read so far & I can’t wait to see what else is yet to come with this author.
We start off the book with our FMC Mia and her sweet little girl being on the run, they land in the cute, cosy, small town, of Swiftwater, Colorado where they bump into someone who sees them as people who could use a little bit of support in a time of need.
This leads to Mia being offered the job of live-in nanny for our MMC Greyson’s little girl. As two single parents our MCs start forming a bond and we see their friendship blossom into more. But, will Mia’s past follow her?
This story has some heavy topics so please do check the triggers. I felt that these were all written with the utmost care and gave enough detail without going too far which left us with a book that was still wholesome and funny whilst dealing with the heaviness.
I genuinely didn’t want to put this book down right from chapter 1. The children were adorable, the spice was spicing (even as a slow-burn), the found family were as perfect this time as they have been throughout the series so far. Greyson was the greenest or green flags, his patience with Mia was stunning to see & I loved his filthy mouth.
I don’t know what else I can say without ruining any plot but my last lil note would be to please read this book, you won’t regret it.

This book had my heart racing and had me holding my breath from the first page. The intense few chapters leading into the beautiful slow burn was perfect. I loved the careful progress of the relationship between Greyson and Mia. Where some books rush right into the romance, I loved the space the author gave these characters to learn each other and to grow.
Their cute, budding relationship was absolutely adorable. One of my favorite lines captured that feeling perfectly: “What I didn’t expect was for her to write me back. I feel like I’m passing notes with the pretty girl in homeroom.” Hello middle school heart swoon ! 🧡Being able to feel the growth of Mia was a beautiful journey of resilience and strength.

Going into this, I was a little nervous. Small town romances can be cliche but this was anything but.
The found family aspect is always one of my favorites, taking the outsiders in and giving them a loving home and making them apart of the family. Cecelia and Walter not only took in an extra kid, Greyson, but made sure Mia and Everly were apart of the family even before their romance started.
Amanda dealt with Mia's past delicately, giving just enough information without making it a difficult read. Everyone in the book was willing to overlook her past and not force her to talk about the abuse while making her feel welcome and giving her all the support she needed.
Greyson was willing to do whatever was needed to keep her safe. I do wish we learned about the side business more, but it was talked about enough that it wasn't out of nowhere that Greyson was able to make Mia's ex go away. You could tell Greyson struggled with the "dark" side of himself sometimes and Everly made sure to support him in the same way he supported her.
I'm glad Izzy could tell that something was off the first time she met Mia and Everly and kind of forced (in a loving way) her to meet her family, knowing they would welcome her with open arms.
The buildup to the next book was just enough to get me excited to keep reading. I didn't read the first two books before reading this but I do plan to go back and read them now.

Mia and Greyson (and their respective daughters!) absolutely won me heart in Peaches & Pistols. This is a truly healing romance that earns its happily ever after.
What makes a romance for me is emotional intimacy. As much as I love me some spice and attraction, it's that emotional chord weaving two souls together that wins me ever time. And this book has that in spades, this love story has that is spades!!! For example, the simple act of leaving notes for one another. Greyson believes Mia might feel more comfortable were he to communicate via left behind notes rather than on the phone and she does, but it becomes more. More than a simple domestic act, it becomes a way of learning one another. A comfort that soothes the soul and fills the heart and sees me utterly swooned every which way possible, haha!
The romance truly won me over. Mia and Greyson have been through much on their journeys, Mia most especially, and to watch them fall in love, to watch them form a family with their daughters felt so deserving. I also want to say I love how the narrative allows the parents to bond with the other's child. Really knits the family together.
Ironically, given how much I love watching these two come together, I did find the second half the story a bit lagging in keeping hold my attention. Nevertheless, I'm truly so glad I read this one! A definite recommend from me!

This was a really cute romance. Both main characters are single parents that meet on accident and due to forced proximity they fall for each other. All of which happens in the best way possible.
Mia is a strong representation of a mother will protect her kid no matter what. She is resilient. I really liked her character because of how careful and thoughtful she was. Granted maybe she was thoughtful due to the previous situation she was in but as she learned to be her own person again she never lost that part of her. She was always looking for ways to help those around her before she helps herself.
Greyson has a special spot in my heart. He seems to have a cold outside persona but getting to read his perspective and learn how he thinks really helps to humanize him as a character. He is always looking to protect and help those close to him which is why his relationship with Mia works so well, especially in the beginning. It seems like he almost forgot what it's like to be taken care of which is why Mia comes along.
Mia takes on the role of nanny for Greyson's daughter. Which leads to Mia and her daughter living with them. She creates fun activities and everyday entertainment for the girls to do while also cleaning and cooking around the house. First I would like to thank the author Amanda Jayne for giving me the opportunity to read Peaches and Pistols as an ARC. This is my first book of Amanda’s and it won’t be the last.
This story was not only emotional, heartwarming and sweet but it was raw and dark.
Our FMC Mia is fleeing an abusive relationship with her young daughter Everly, she ends up in a small town where she meets our MMC Greyson who is dealing with his own loss and has a daughter of his own, Harper. He’s in need of a Nanny and Mia is in need of a job and a safe place to stay.
Greyson becomes Mia’s refuge and as time goes on they can’t deny their feelings for each other. Greyson is patient and kind to Mia. Something she isn’t used to having and Mia makes Greyson feel cared for. Both of them are trying to raise children as single parents, as well as deal with their own grief and loss.
Overall I really enjoyed this book, Mia’s abusive relationship was written with sensitivity and care and I have to applaud Amanda for writing Mia the way she did. She has a quiet strength, resilience and is fiercely protective over Everly.
Please check trigger warnings before reading as this book does deal with some heavy and difficult topics.

I love a woman on the run trope SO much. I love it even more when the MMC meets the FMC and its love at first sight for him. When I tell you that Greyson Clark falls first and hard I mean this man becomes obsessed with Mia, our FMC. This man has been all about his daughter for so long and then Mia comes along and he wants to know everything about her. I LOVE that!
The storyline was written so well, I loved the plot and how we move through the events with ease. The characters, (main and side) all played such important roles in the story which kept me engaged and looking forward to what was going to happen next.
There was something missing that I can’t put my finger on but I wish we had just a bit more depth with the main characters. The book is a little long and I had to push through on a few chapters. There is a lot we know about them but I wish we had maybe some flashbacks to Mia and her sister or even her family to fully grasp her back story. It is still such a good book and I was definitely entertained and the flirting and spice are top notch! I am stoked for the next book!

Peaches & Pistols is the third installment of the Lucky Spurs Ranch series. This is my first book in the series that I have read and it 100% can be read as a standalone. This book was a gut punch in the beginning only because this hits close to home. So, please read the TW before diving in. Amelia has read fear & I appreciate how author, Amanda Jayne showed on page that trauma doesn't just disappear after leaving. If anything it takes years of therapy and an understanding partner to be able to feel safe again. Okay, now that we've got that out the way...
Greyson is morally grey.... see what I did there? The man is a good man but the line between good and bad is blurred for him. He protects what's his and he wants Amelia to be his.. and her daughter too. I really enjoyed how the whole town rallied around Amelia and her daughter to keep them safe and to take them into the fold of the town. They made sure that they had what they needed and Greyson took care of the rest.
I really enjoyed this story the only downside is the pacing. That's it, so be patient.
