Reckless Hearts

Rate this book
"Sometimes you need to break the rules to get what you want."
I've always been known as the poor girl. My parents didn't have the right kind of jobs or the right kind of house. And, at university, I was also the girl who ruined the curve by being at the top of the class. The rich kids hated me, and I hated them. A chip on my shoulder? Yeah, that's a nice way of putting it.

Then the richest of the rich - the enigmatic billionaire "Mr. X" - arrived on campus to give a speech. And I couldn't keep my big mouth shut.

Strangely enough, Mr. X took an interest in me. Soon I realized that there was another side to the reckless billionaire. Something beyond his impulsive business moves and fast cars.

There was... Owen.

Owen, the kind man who saved stray dogs from the side of the road, the man who planted a tree for every one that his company chopped down. The more I spent time with him, the more I realized that I loved him.

They say that you're your own worst enemy, and I've always been one to play by the rules. This time, though, my heart pushed me into a mess I didn't know how to escape from. Could I let myself fall in love with Mr. X, even if it meant I had to break every rule in the book to get him?

This is my opinion.

I love these stories...LOVE them but this was a DNF at 45%. Allison was not likable at all. She was so bitter and that chip on her shoulder... My GAWD!!!! I did not grow up with much either, but I was never so bitter. Yes, it is hard, but you don't blame other people. Allison had nothing nice to say. SO angry. A bad vibe. Who would want to be friends with someone so bitter?!?! I could not connect. It would have been better if the heroine was in the same situation, but just said "this is my life and I am the one that can change it by getting a great education, working hard, and BEING NICE!!!" Allison was going to a great school through a grant!!!! She should be happy, not complaining.

Reckless hearts not so reckless

This book didn’t live up to its title. At times my mind drifted cause it was holding my attention. Read for yourself and draw your own conclusions.
Sorry I wished it was more exciting

I was given a copy of this book to review. This book is somewhat difficult to write a review on. I did enjoy the book, but I would have liked it better had the characters had been better developed. While Allison is extremely smart, she has a resentment towards the wealthy, even though she received a grant to attend a prestigious school that caters to wealthy students. She called Mr. X out on concerns she had without having any facts and when he tried to answer her questions to show what he gave back, she wasn't interested in hearing it.
There were a few sex scenes, but they weren't knock your socks off steamy.

Truthfully.

Truthfully this story compares so much to my life and other people life. Not the billionaire part, but the part when you don't come from nothing and kids make fun of you. I had kids make fun of me when I was in college from coming from nothing because I did not come from money or a silver spoon in my mouth. This book inspires people that don't come from much to rise beyond that and show that they might have the money but I got the brains.

Quick but Enjoyable Read

When Allison finds she's falling in love with Owen she doesn't want to. It's distracting her from her school work and she can't lose her grant. But can she stay away from him?
