A pretty dated work which made it not as applicable. Started out pretty harsh ragging on anything that integrates psychology at all in their counseling. Often the authors made it seem like sin is absolutely the main issue for every issue someone brings to the counseling room which may be true in some ways to be sure but a clear picture about how to walk with someone through that with mercy and grace was lacking. chapters on confessions of a psychologist and marriage counseling are really only worthwhile in the whole book. Rambles on about biblical sufficiency for several different subjects and then a final review on scriptural basis for biblical sufficiency, in case you missed it. Has some ideas for reference

Christian counselors agree that the Bible's message of salvation can radically change lives. Scripture can lead even the most unlikely people to faith but when it comes to everyday problems is the Bible really enough? Here we have more than a dozen highly trained counselors, medical experts and pastors who are highly respected in their fields. Every one has at least one doctorate relevant to the area they examine in this book. Their answers to the question stated above are enlightening, thought provoking and surprising.
Very good book. This book is to Biblical Counseling what Pastor Wilson's books are to education. We have become a psychologized world. we have abandoned God. We have bought the lie that we are simply brains and bodies. But the Bible says there is a lot more to us than that. We were made in the image of God and thus we think and act and emote and are responsible for our actions, thoughts, motives, and decisions. God does exist and he is Lord. We live our lives in the world he created. And the Bible gives us everything we need for life and godliness. It gives us everything we need to live godly lives. It gives us everything we need to love and live with one another in a way that brings honor and glory to God. If you wonder about psychology or about Biblical Counseling, this is a very good book to read.
