Unexpected Chance

Rate this book
Aiden Wellington has it all. He has an amazing, fulfilling job as a lawyer. He has a wonderful family who are all married with children. He has fancy cars, friends, and a beautiful Seattle home. Yes, he has everything a man could ever ask for, everything except the one thing that he desires most…a woman.

Savvy Russell has led an extremely hard life. She’s learned from a very early age that good things just don’t happen to her. She’s convinced karma has it out for her. When she finds something good, ultimately she’s left with nothing except for the shirt on her back. She’s always waiting for her newly found piece of happiness to be ripped away from her.

When life literally throws Savvy into Aiden’s arms can he get past his bitterness and see what is right in front of him?

Will Savvy finally put aside her misguided feelings of self-worthlessness to see what everybody else sees?

Is it possible to replace a lifetime of hurt with something as simple as love?

Loved it! Talk about your whirlwind romance and love running into you when you least expect it. That is what this book delivers. Aiden sees all of the people he loves most in the world overcoming horrible pasts and tragic circumstances to find forever love and no one to save him from his feelings of emptiness and failure to find what they all have.

Until a battered and bruised woman comes stubling out of a bar and straight into his arms and life and his arms. Savvy knocks the wind right out of Aiden and flips his whole life on its ear.

Feeling like she is not good enough, never has been and never will be, for a good man, a real family, a happy life, she struggles with the reality that Aiden is there, trying to give it all to her.

This book gives you reason to believe in love at first sight and happily ever afters for everyone. Although everything happens in the blink of an eye, you want it to and are cheering for Aiden and Savvy all throughout. Aiden tops the list as a favorite book boyfriend for sure now.

"She lives with so much more hurt than I know about. Is it possible to replace a lifetime of hurt with something as simple as love?" <--- That. The feels.

This is only the second in this series that I have had a chance to read but both have been completely swoon worthy, with hot men, love stories to melt your heart and endings to make you swoon. This series is definitely one I'd recommend and I have added the remaining books in the series to the top of my TBR.

Once again Annalisa has written a fantastic book and a wonderful conclusion to the AMAZING Series. I have loved this series right from the start. Annalisa is the creator of the heartwarming love story that doesn't focus on excess drama, but the love behind the story and the characters. What I truly love about her books are that they are quick reads and that she starts you off in the heart of the story. She doesn't fill her books with a lot of extra drama and information. But that's not to say that her stories still pack a punch when it comes to your emotions. She has an amazing gift at creating characters that you just fall in love with and feel everything they are feeling too. This book was no different!!!!

Unexpected Chance is the 6th and Final book in her Running Into Love Series and I am sad to see it end. The Wellington Family are amazing characters and will live in heart for a long time. Each of these books are considered standalones but I wouldn't recommend that. I truly would read this series in order, because each couple make returning visits in the next books in the series. The Wellington Siblings are such a tight knit family that each of them play HUGE roles in each others stories.

With this book , I would for sure read Unavoidable Chance (book 5) first because Unexpected Chance actually takes off right where book 5 ended. Annalisa started Aiden and Savvy's book at the end of Book 5. Plus I think to fully get the feeling of who Aiden and Savvy really are you need to read the other books. She really does just jump right into their story when you start this book. Many are going to think this book is an insta-love story, and it kind of is, but if you read the other books in the series you will see that Aiden and Savvy's story started growing in the other books, (mostly Book 5).

What I love about this series is that each book has a little bit of everything in it. Unexpected Chance is no different. We got humor, romance, sex and some drama ( to keep you on the edge of your seat ). This book will capture you right from the start and keep you hanging on until the end.

Aiden and Savvy were great characters and I couldn't wait to read their story. Aiden is the last of the Wellington Siblings to find love and he literally "runs" into Savvy as she is being thrown out of a bar by her abusive ex boyfriend. Right from the start these two have amazing chemistry and know how to bring on the steam ;) Aiden is such a swoon worthy Hero. He would do anything to make Savvy happy and make all her dreams come true. Savvy is a spunky and sassy heroine, who is slightly broken. She had a sad upbringing once her mom died when she was 10 yrs old. She lived with her Aunt Molly who was just awful to her. This story is all about Savvy learning to heal and move on with her life and learning that she is worthy of a man's love. It was great watching both characters open up to each other and learn to love with their whole heart.

Again one of the best things about this series, is that we get to see all the previous characters from the other books. It is great to see each of them living out their HEA's and how everything turns out in the future. Each of the previous couples play such a big role in this book too, that it felt like we got the conclusion to each of their stories as well. This was the perfect ending to an already outstanding series!!!!

I would definitely recommend this book and series to anyone who is looking for that heart warming, sweet and even sexy love story that isn't loaded with a lot of drama. These books are a quick read that will leave you with a smile on your face :)

Unexpected Chance is the sixth and final book in the Running Into Love Series, by Annalisa Nicole. This was my first book by Nicole but, it really didn't hinder my enjoyment of the book. Reading this from a new fan stand point I might not of got some of the things they referenced but, the author explained enough of it that I understood and I really think this could be read as a stand alone novel. Would you enjoy it better if you read the whole series, I'm sure of it! This was a very charming book!

This is a "family" series. It follows the Wellington Clan as they actually all run head on, into the love of their lives, get married, and live happily ever after. It is a sweet, feel good story, with a HEA! Life is full of gloom, we need these fairy tale books, where the knight, in shining armor, sweeps in and saves the day! He puts the girl on his white horse and they ride off, in the sunset. In a way, that is what this story is about. It is just a lot sexier version, a few more twist, and instead of a horse, he has a bada$$ car!.

I really liked this book! I give Unexpected Chance 4.5 stars

Loved Savvy and her story. Really liked the way the author dealt with Savvy's memories of her mom, aunt and hospice aid. One of the better story lines in this series but it kind of "jumped the shark" with the kidnapping. Especially when the girls went in to "take care of business". Those aren't the types of girls to do it....it was a little stretched that the men were even able to take part. Except for Max of course.
Will miss these characters! Good simple series to read....will look for others from this author.

ARC received for an honest review

This is the 6th book in the Running Into Love series, and although I have missed a couple of books in the series (which I will go back and read) this did not affect my enjoyment and understanding of things in this book.

Aiden Wellington has always felt happy that his friends and siblings have found the love of their lives, but lately he can see what he is missing, is kind of feeling jealous of all the happiness around him, and at times just does not want to be around them.

Savvy has been in his circle of family and friends for a while, but now she is on Aiden's radar and he can't help but want to be around her.

The poor girl doesn't stand a chance!

Savvy has had a rough trot of things, and being introduced to the Wellingtons, their family and friends, has changed her life like she never thought was possible. She is smart, savvy, and I love her quirky outlook of life, never really expecting that she deserves anything good in life.

When Aiden and Savvy are thrown together, you can't help but want great things for them both.  There is an attraction between them that neither can deny, and really, who would want to fight Aiden? Oh wait, yeah, Savvy will fight it! She can't see herself as ever being good enough for Aiden, and keeps pushing him away.

Even though he has an uphill battle before him, Aiden never gives up on her and fights for not just himself, but for her.
Swoon! I so want that man to get the happiness he is inwardly craving.

So, can these lovelies finally get their HEA?

Nope, for that you are going to have to read for yourself!

I loved that we got to see a little more of each of the Wellingtons and their significant others, their families, their children, everyone we have grown to love over this series,

It is always bittersweet when we get to the end of series, but look forward to what Ms Nicole will have for us next.

Ahhhh Annalisa, I think I love thee. This is one amazing love story. It captures your heart, your soul, and emotions you didn't even know you had.

Savannah Russell is a damaged soul. One who had a very hard life. At the innocent age of 10, she lost her mother to ALS. Once her mother died, she was left in her aunt's capable (or so they thought) hands, to raise. For some reason, no matter how close her mother and aunt were, as well as Savannah and her aunt, she was treated horribly. Savvy could never pinpoint, nor understand why she was treated so poorly. Her aunt never wanted anything nice for her, whatsoever.

As if that wasn't bad enough, Savvy grew up and found herself in a horrible relationship with a man named Reno. She thought that she had escaped him, until one day he came stalking back into her life. He beat her publicly, in a bar and tossed her straight out through those wooden doors and stumbled into the arms of the one and only ... Aiden Wellington.

A Wellington. Good Lord .. yum!! Aiden is a man who never understood love. Why did his brothers act like love sick puppies with their wives? Why did his sisters act like they couldn't breathe without their husbands? Sickening. Just sickening. Who lives like that?

Aiden wanted to do nothing other than go home, have a few beers and veg out on the date of his sister, Ava's wedding to Jax. He had enough of the lovey dovey crap that he was surrounded with all day. Just to appease his sister on her wedding day, he said yes to a beer at Deuce's bar. Little did he know that his life would forever change - for the better that day.

Aiden was immediately put on a roller coaster ride, that he would definitely ride over and over again. With Savvy literally being thrown into his arms, he would happily, without a doubt, do it all over again. In a nano second. What exactly happens when he catches Savvy in his arms? What happens to Reno?

The Wellington family is nothing short of amazing. The bond that they all share, no matter boy or girl, is locked tight. The other thing that is known about this family, is the way that they fall in love. When they find that special someone to call their own, they hold on tight and never let go. It's a fairy tale type love. A forever love.

"So, let's not waste any of your time, then. You're screwed," Willow says bluntly. "I see the way Aiden looks at you. It's the same way the rest of the Wellington men look at their women. You're screwed, and I say that in the nicest possible way. Once one of them boys gets that look in their eyes, there's nothing you can do. You should just count yourself one of the luckiest women in the world and surrender," Willow says.

Reading this final installment to the series, brought tears to my eyes throughout. Unexpected Chance is truly a great book. Annalisa again, captures every emotion from every single nook and cranny of your heart. It brings both tears and laughter, yet pain and heartache at the same time.

Do yourself a favor and stop what you're doing and one-click. You will definitely want to fall in love with the Wellington family.

Say it isn't so....it cannot be the end of the series...I am so in love with the Wellington's and all of the gang I am going to miss them. I know there could be a some spin offs maybe...hint hint...Quinn could use a story...maybe the kids as teens or young adults...LOL I just don't want to let them go !! I have adored each story and this one is no different. I have been waiting for Aiden's story and of course Savvy had had a big part since Chloe and Max had their story. I loved how they were literally thrown into each others lives at the end of the last book. I knew , we all knew they would have a great story. It is so much more than great , i don't even want to write the review because that means it is actually over...

Aiden is at that point in his life , alone yet fulfilled in every other aspect of his life , watching his siblings and friends fall in love , marry and start families. When will it happen for him ?? Maybe the second Savvy is thrown out of the bar into his arms ?? Who knows but it does make for a great story start !! Rescuing the damsel , Savvy is known to always be in the wrong place , she attracts trouble and sadly has had a real crappy life to this point. Aiden is a dream to her , one she knows she should escape but yet she cannot stay away. If he is offering help and safety she is going to eat it up. Savvy is a very self conscious woman and she feels because of her past she doesn't deserve to be happy. More so that anything she touches will soon be ruined. So partly afraid for Aiden she tries to push him away and stay detached from his loving and dominating help !! You know that won't work. These Wellington men have no problem protecting and being honest with their feelings. Aiden enjoys Savvy's company , there is something about her he adores and let's face it she is very desirable. Savvy doesn't really have a say and yes that sounds controlling but it is in such a way that who could resist !! The damn glasses , its all I can think about !! Their story is not without struggle. There is Savvy's inner struggles and worry but also the threats that Savvy just cannot escape. This is not just Reno , there is a part of this story that will have you on the edge of your seat. This book has it all much like the whole series and that makes it so easy to read and easy to enjoy. There is pain , heartache , love HOT SEX , hot guys , alpha males , strong and funny chicks , bada$$ness all around !! I am so glad I was introduced to this series through blogging and I am certain to follow this author and see what she does next !!

The Running into Love series has always been an uplifting reading experience for me, stories of trials and hurt, of lost love and second chances. It's been a cathartic experience, watching these characters overcome past hurts, both physical and emotional, finding their way back to themselves, to those who love them.

Aiden Wellington has always been something of an enigma, always hiding in plain sight, he's living the seemingly perfect life, his career is coasting along, professionally he's at the top of his game, but his personal life is non existent, there's no one to come home to, no one to share his life with, and on the surface he's not even concerned about it. He's content.

Savvy has had a long run of bad luck, growing up without a loving home, from destructive toxic relationship to the next, constantly singling out men who mistreat and hurt her, Savvy has never had any reason to believe in happy ever afters. She's witnessed her friends find it, but see's her own HEA as a far off dream, things like that couldn't possibly happen for her.

There's a lot of heart in this story, Savvy is the kind of heroine you instantly want to cheer for, she's never expected much for herself because she's never really experienced what unconditional love is. Falling into Aiden's arms was single handedly the most unexpected and ultimately biggest moment of her life. Annalisa Nicole never fails to grab me by the heart strings, demanding my attention and willing me to feel for her beautifully broken and often flawed characters. The final book in the series left me feeling sated and content, the Wellington family feels real to me, I've watched their lives change, watched their family grow, seen them all shaped by both joy and tragedy. Their stories touching my heart in a way very few do.

If you have yet to be introduced to Annalisa’s Running into Love series, slow your roll and go check them out from the start. I mean, you don’t HAVE to read them all to read this book; but, if you love Aiden and Savvy’s story I highly suggest you check out the rest of the Wellington Family’s stories.

Annalisa definitely saved the best story for last. Aw...heck, just writing that makes me want to tear up, I don’t want it to end!! *stomps foot and pouts* The entire Wellington clan captured this Harlot’s heart and I will never be the same. Neither will you if you give this series a Chance.

Aiden and Savvy (Savannah) were sort of thrown together as this series progressed. However, even as Annalisa hinted through each story about what may come, she kept us constantly dangling on a tether, wanting and waiting for the next delicious bit. Anyways, Aident is one of the sweetest guys around, I mean most women would love to have their own personal Aidens (if you don’t already). Savvy is one friend we could all use, she’s hilarious and will have you giggling on more than one occasion in this book. But, she’s also very relatable, many people will be able to connect to her story personally. She’s self conscious and doesn’t think happiness is meant for her, due to situations in her past.

It completely broke my heart and all I want to do is jump into this story and hug the devil out of her, never letting go. Unexpected Chance is by far my favorite in the Running into Love series. It was a breathtaking ending to a sensational series. The entire group of characters in every book, will have you laughing, crying and rallying for someone’s blood at some point. If you love a good dramatic and sweet love story, that has a few suspenseful situations thrown in, I would suggest you grab up this book as well as the others. You’ll fall harder than this Harlot did.

Review of Unexpected Chance (Running Into Love #6) by Annalisa Nicole

Review done for Hooked on Books

4 ½ out of 5 stars

Savvy Russell has had to struggle for everything she has. When her Mom passed away when she was younger, she had to live with her horrible Aunt. Her Aunt was mean and didn’t let her have any freedom as a teenager. Her Aunt didn’t even let her keep any of her mother’s things.

When Savvy turned 18, she left as fast as she could. She had to fend for herself and ended up with an abusive boyfriend.

Her luck turned around when she met the Wellington family. They befriended her and treated her just like family. They were the type of family everyone dreams about having.

Aiden Wellington thinks his life is perfect. He is a successful lawyer, good looking, and has fancy cars and a beautiful home. Little did he know he was missing one important thing: the love of his life.

When he sees that his brothers and sisters are happily married and starting families, he becomes jealous and begins to want those things as well.

When Savvy falls into his arms, Aiden is surprised by the feelings he begins to have for her. Her will do everything and anything to have her.

Savvy unfortunately doesn’t believe she deserves to be loved and is very scared to follow her feelings for Aiden. Thankfully Aiden is like Prince Charming and treats her like a princess!

I really enjoyed this book. All though it can be read alone, it is helpful to have the background on all Aiden’s family. They are all so wonderful.

Aiden is a perfect gentleman, and it doesn’t hurt that he is gorgeous as well. I loved how he took care of Savvy.

I definitely recommend this book to read as well as the other books in this great series!!

"She's with me" words that shocked the heck out of us at the end of the last book, now we see those words in full context.

Aiden is happy for all his sibling and friends who have found their other halves and now have spouses and children on their own. But seeing them have what he wants is so hard until he finally gets a chance at having it too, if only he can convince her of that.

Savvy has had it hard her luck going from bad to worse throughout the years, but meeting Chloe changed so many things for her. How long can it really last though? Always waiting for the other shoe to drop she doesn't really believe she'll ever get her happily ever after.

Aiden is always there for his family, whatever they need he it there for them. He is strong and caring, and once he sees something he knows he wants he won't let anything get in his way.

Savvy is fiesty with a bit of whimsical thrown in. She knows the world is a harsh place, but still trys to see things through rose colored glasses when she can thinks that's as good as it'll ever get for her.

Watching the last Wellington get his HEA is bittersweet I loved seeing who he saw her and just knew even if she does fight him on it. And I loved watching as Savvy got a chance at the happiness she really does deserve. Aiden has a bit of an uphill battle convincing her of what they can have but I loved seeing it all unfold!

I don’t think you’ll find a sweeter guy on the planet then Aiden Wellington. I absolutely adored this book – I couldn’t put it down once I’d read the first page. Savannah (Savvy) Russell has lived a tough life – her mother died when she was just 10 years old and she was raised by her bitter old aunt. She hasn’t had the best luck with men and her ex was previously abusive but her friend Max (Aiden’s brother in-law) “took care” of the problem, or so they though. Her ex manages to find her and is beating her up at a bar when she literally crashes into Aiden. Aiden can’t control his thoughts when he’s around Savvy and immediately upon realizing that his brother in-law Max didn’t get rid of her ex he decides to deem himself her personal bodyguard. After the first day together Aiden knows she’s the one but convincing Savvy she’s worth his love is the tricky part.

I absolutely loved Savvy, she’s hilarious. Aiden is so sweet and thoughtful. This book is just so fantastically written, I really enjoyed it. I also really enjoyed the look into his sibling’s life – I’m assuming this is a series and his sibling’s stories are prior to it but this is the only book I’ve read and I’m definitely going to need to check into the others. I can’t wait to read more from this author!

This is the 6th book in what seems like a great serious. I am sad to say that this is the first book I have read from this series, though I will fix that soon. Because when other characters were brought up I had no clue what had happened in previous books, but it makes you want to know.

Savvy was a strong woman to me. Because it takes courage and heart to open her heart up again after what she’d been through, not many woman would be able to do that. She had been down, but she showed that she wasn’t out.

Aiden was just the cutest thing. He showed Savvy that he had patients and he knew how to treat a woman and he would be nothing like her ex, he had her back. Shows Savvy that everybody deserves love with no strings and that she deserves it as well.

This was a great read the story was kept you interested and wanting to know what would happen next. I definitely can’t wait to read the first five books in the series!

Aiden is the last single Wellington sibling, though not by choice. He wants what his family has, true, can't breathe without you love.

Savvy is the girl from the wrong side of the tracks. The Wellington girls have befriended her and treat her like any other friend though Savvy feels she's just not good enough.

Then there's Aiden. She wants him but her insecurities make it seem impossible. Aiden on the other hand has no issues with who she is or where she came from, he wants the girl he sees, the girl he's gotten to know and is falling for.

Unexpected Chance is a sweet romance, these two fall for each other quickly. Neither really saw it coming before they were smacked in the face with their future.
I'm probably one of the few who hasn't read the entire series but I will now thanks to Aiden & Savvy and getting to know the rest of the family through their story.

FABULOUS as always with this series! Savvy & Aiden's HEA isn't as much of a battle as we've seen in the past. Aiden has seen what his siblings have gone through, and when Savvy runs into his arms he knows right away that she is his to claim. He doesn't let up. He doesn't let her run away. He doesn't let the voice in her head telling her she's not good enough win. I love it! I love their story! : )

I also just adore the role the whole family plays in this story, and Max gave me several swoony LOL moments. *grin* ALSO! There is a hint, a possibility that I'm hoping comes to fruition, that we may get a Quinn/Levi connected story. I will do a happy dance should that occur. 5++ wonderful, happy stars for this story & the whole series. : )

This was the strangest of the series by far. Story of Aiden and Savvy who make a really unlikely pair. It's more insta-love with domestic violence and kidnapping thrown in.

Savvy is really quirky, which kind of makes this fun, but she seems the complete opposite of straight-laced Aiden. Opposites may attract, but there's often conflict and there's really none between the two which made this seem really unlikely.

This was less about the romance between Aiden and Savvy and more about Savvy coming to terms with her past so she can move on.

This story absolutely melted my heart!! It was so great!!! A story of hardship & love when you don't even see it coming. It was quite the emotional read for me. Completely pulled at my heart strings and helped me to remember that there is always a chance at love... Even when you least expect it. This is the first bk that I've read from this series but I know am dying to get my hands on the other bks in this series!

Every time I start a new book in this series, I'm reminded how much I love everyone in the Wellington "family".

I was patiently waiting for Savvy and her story - and Aiden was absolutely perfect for her. He knew what he wanted, and she was it. Loved this series!
