Red Chrysanthemum

Master vs. Mistress: The Challenge Continues

Rate this book
The Mistress becomes the submissive…

Ever since Master Damien left her broken-hearted several years ago, Greta has found solace and confidence in her new identity as Mistress Scarlet. Spurning men altogether, she deals only with the fair sex.

But Master Gallant has thrown her world topsy-turvy by requiring her submission.

After several years in the Orient, Charles Gallant has returned to the Red Chrysanthemum, where members indulge in carnal pleasures both wicked and wanton. He knew Mistress Scarlet when she was Miss Greta, a most delightful submissive then joined to the rogue Damien. Now that she is free, Charles has devised a way to claim her for his own. With new instruments of pain and pleasure obtained from his travels, he intends to reawaken Greta to the raptures of submission.

Greta, however, is not about to surrender herself without a fight. She would like nothing more than to make him rue the day he took her on in their first fateful challenge. But Master Gallant’s skills prove far more formidable than she expected, enflaming desires she had thought lay safely dormant. Will the Master or the Mistress prevail?

Or will the unexpected return of Master Damien undo them both?

I hate books that don't end

I hate books that don't end but leaving you hanging for a sequel a year or two later. If you can't write and entire novel, just find another job.

Part 2 and Mistress Scarlet is already wavering . . .
Part 3: Master Gallant won't break Mistress Scarlet as easily as he thought . . .
Part 4: Mistress Scarlet caught being naughty. How will Master Gallant punish her for this and will she succumb to him . . .
Part 5: Never considered her home situation. This gives these short stories more depth.
Part 6: Oh! Master Gallant may have dispensed with Mistress Scarlet and invited Miss Greta into the room. I'm excited to see what happens next.
Part 7: Oh! It's over! Mistress Scarlet is officially Miss Greta now! Master Gallant is GOOD at what he does!
Part 8: Madam Devareaux is out here scheming and big mad it's not working out the way she'd like.
Part 9: This CAN NOT be the end. I don't accept this. I need more! Where is the rest???

Charles Gallant & Gretta Boyle's, aka Mistress Scarlet's story could have been amazing. You decided to end it with a cliffhanger so that you could introduce a biracial story. HATED YOUR CHOICE, nothing against biracial relationships. But in the process you sacrificed what could have been an enchanting story. Very disappointed in your writing style, leaving readers desiring an ending that will never come. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORY.

Loved it

I really enjoyed this book. It was much longer and much more of a story than the others I've read my Email Brown. It gives you a chance to get more invested in the characters. Can't wait to read the next one.

Brilliant

This is the second book in the Red Chrysanthemum series, I cannot wait for the next. I so want a happy ending but I’m not sure it’s going to happen. Please Ms Brown let love find a way. I recommend both these books very highly, but be warned they are hot, hot, hot.

It was o.k. Not my favourite of the series. It ended rather abruptly. I may read the follow up; I'm not sure if I want to though. 3☆
