He's a silver fox, sly, sophisticated, and he knows exactly what I want from him.
Even though I definitely shouldn't have it.
As the owner’s daughter, I know better than to get involved with anyone tied to the Vegas Vipers.
Especially not Colton Mercer.
He’s the new head coach.
A walking scandal. A PR nightmare in an expensive suit.
He’s older, out of bounds, and one bad headline away from losing everything. My mother brought him in to rebuild the team. I should’ve kept my distance.
Instead, I let him get too close.
Now the man hired to fix my family’s franchise is looking at me like I’m the one thing he wants, and every smart decision I’ve ever made is hanging by a thread.
Because Colton Mercer is a risk. To the team. To my family. To me.
And the worst part?
I'm sleeping with him anyway.
Her Coach is the first book in the Vegas Vipers Series. Each book features a different couple, but it should be read in order.

Savannah Rylan writes dirty-talking motorcycle club and mafia romance filled with ruthless men, ride-or-die loyalty, and women who don’t back down.
She has a soft spot for anti-heroes with scars, found family dynamics, and enemies-to-lovers stories that make her heart melt. If there’s a morally gray biker growling “mine,” she’s one happy girl.
When she’s not plotting revenge arcs and steamy showdowns, Savannah is wrangling two tiny humans, two chaotic dogs, and a husband who has fully accepted that fictional bikers pay the bills. She’s known for rocking rainbow hair (usually some shade of pink or purple), surviving East Coast winters with dramatic flair, and drinking coffee like it’s water.
Originally from sunny California, she now lives where it snows, which she deeply resents. But at least it gives her more time to stay inside and write about men who prefer leather cuts over parkas.
If you love possessive heroes, high-stakes drama, and spice that fogs up the windows, you’re in the right place.
It's a good story. The issues that come up are real and handled well. Only thing that keeps it from a five star rating are some annoying inconsistencies. MMC lives in a penthouse apartment, then there's suddenly a backyard with flowers? The references to he and she get confused at times. They're in a parking lot, but then they're in a hallway? Why do so many of these hockey stories have zero idea about the game and its rules and lingo? Only little kids leagues have such short seasons. A simple Internet search would solve this. Pulls you out of the story. So close to 4 stars, but could be better.
I wanted to like this book but the writing is so bad I couldn't finish reading it. So many continuity errors and I only got to chapter 12. The final straw for me was Colton prepping for the "first practice" with the team but we've already seen him run 2 practices from Brynn's POV. I was already annoyed by "no I didn't go to college, I went pro right out of college" but I was willing to look past it. I swear the author didn't have anyone look it over before publishing...or reread it herself. P.s. No New Yorker would ever say there's no difference between being from NY state or NYC
3.75stars-- HER COACH is the first instalment in Savannah Rylan’s contemporary, adult VEGAS VIPERS erotic, hockey romance series. This is forty year old hockey coach Colton Mercer, and twenty-six year old, PR manager Brynn Caldwell’s story line.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Brynn and Colton) HER COACH follows in the wake of a scandal and a PR disaster. Agreeing to ‘leave’ his current team, Colton Mercer flounders for weeks until an offer and a new contract finds Colton Mercer the new head of the Vegas Vipers where he will meet his future in the guise of Brynn Caldwell, the owner’s daughter, a young woman who sees beyond the social media headlines. Brynn Caldwell thought about setting up her widowed mother with the team’s new head coach but Colton Mercer only had eyes for one woman, and our heroine was about to fall for a man with more experience than she could have ever imagined but Colton is about to repeat history, and in doing so, threaten his future with Brynn and the Vegas Vipers.
The world building focuses on remodeling and rebuilding the Vegas Vipers, a team that has been struggling for years. Colton knows that his past is no far behind but falling for Brynn Caldwell was never in the card. Brynn lives her life for someone else, and a future with Colton, may not be in the cards.
The relationship between Brynn and Colton is an age-gap romance in which history is about to be repeat itself. Colton was forced to move, leave his life behind, restarting a new direction with the Vegas Vipers but Colton never expected to fall for the owner’s daughter, a fall that may threaten his future in the league. The $ex scenes are intimate, provocative and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are introduced to the team owner Victoria Caldwell, as well as several members of the Vegas Vipers: Captain Rhett ‘Stone’ Calloway, Jettson, Goalie Moose, Frank, Marcus, Hawk as well as Brynn’s best friend and editor Dani.
HER COACH is a story of family and relationships, loss and grief, second chances and new starts. The character driven premise is captivating and entertaining; the romance is seductive and startling; the characters are desperate, charismatic and charming.
I will add, the cover, although sexy and appealing, the AI images are all the same. The men all have the same eyes, jawlines, tattoos, and muscular builds, looking like clones of one another-there needs to be some changes in the AI programs used by the authors, as many of the covers are starting to look alike.
This hockey romance was a strong 4.5 stars for me. The characters were engaging and the spice was spicing. It is fun to see a brand new cast of characters for potential future romances.
The relationship between the FMC Brynn and the MMC Colton was one that interested me and made me wary at the same time. He was fresh off a scandal with a younger woman when he immediately met and fell for Brynn. The situation gave me the ick at first honestly, especially when she was trying to set Colton up with her mom. Age gap trope generally never bothers me, but there was something about this that made me wonder if this was going to turn into a dark romance with those trigger tropes. As the story progressed I got more comfortable with the character and began to enjoy their dynamic for what it was, an immediate connection.
Overall this was an easy and fun read, and a great addition to Savannah Rylan's repertoire. I will be reading the rest when they come out!

I love hockey romances.... and this one didn't disappoint!! I loved the characters - Colton & Brynn...
Brynn is 26 - a bartender & does the PR for her Mom's hockey team... Colton (40) is recovering from a scandal that got him fired & is the new coach...
I love the hockey team... and their interactions at the bar across the street from the rink, where Brynn works... those are some of my favorite scenes... I love all the banter & the way they all feed off each other.
I appreciate Colton's recognizing that he started drinking too much... and had the discipline to cut back & be more careful.
Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
*hockey/sports romance *he's the coach, she's the owner's daughter & does the PR *she's a bartender *secret relationship *age gap *she's a virgin *Dirty talking/Praise Kink *forced proximity
This is Book 1 in the Vegas Vipers series. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!! I love the team characters & look forward to their stories!!
Thank you to the author (Savannah Rylan) & Booksprout for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
This is a the first book in the Vegas Vipers series. An age gap, off limits, workplace hockey romance. Brynn is the team owner's daughter, a bartender and in charge of PR for the team. At 26, she is looking for a connection before giving into love, that all goes out the window, when she meets her next assignment, the new team's coach. Colton needs to fix his image as there was a messy breakup (from a younger girl), at 40 he is brooding and a bit jaded, but also captivated with Brynn.
Brynn shines as an innocent -in many ways- girl who wants to make her mom happy but is happy and a bit chaotic. Her connectio to Colton is undeniable, and through her sass and attempts to match him with her mom, the attraction deepens until it explodes into sizzling passion. She helps him recognize his mistakes and he gives her the security and protection she is looking for, But the age gap and workplace are no match for her mom's refusal to accept the relationship,
A great entertaining read!.

I have read a lot of other books by Savannah and i would have to say that I really enjoyed this one. Reading a lot of other sport romance series, the romance between Colton and Brynn was intriguing. I was entertained at the fact that Brynn was trying to set Colton up with her mother due to his age. She was trying her best to ignore her own attraction to him for her mother’s happiness. Colton was also trying to fight his attraction to Brynn because of his prior situation. The scandal with the sponsors daughter for the team he coached cost him his job of 20 years. Wanting a fresh start, he answered a coaching position in Vegas. The Vegas Vipers hadn’t won a game in three years but it was his goal to change that . The interactions with the players and “coach” was definitely amusing. The trust and respect that Colton earned from the team didnt have to do with his reputation, but his ability to capitalize on the strengths of each player Falling for the owners daughter was never his intention but he did. The author touches on how grief, the loss of parents and spouses, can affect survivors differently. Colton and Brynn were open with each other enough to express this raw part of their souls.

I have always been a sucker for hockey romance, but there is just something special about the coach tropes! The magnetic pull between Colton and Brynn is undeniable; their age difference adds a great layer of tension. Their flirting was relentless and so very obvious it even had me blushing. The push-and-pull between them kept getting more intense with each encounter—Colton has some game. I also found it hilarious that her mom clocked their chemistry watly before either of them did.
The playful camaraderie between the teammates and on-ice action was everything I love about hockey romances! I really hope we get books for each of the guys. Hands down one of the best I've ever read!

Her Coach is Book 1 in the Vegas Vipers series, and it grabbed me from the very first chapter. I read the preview and was instantly hooked. I was fortunate to receive an advance copy and it matched the energy and excitement of that first chapter perfectly. Colton and Brynn's connection sets off fire alarms the moment they meet. Colton’s bold personality paired with Brynn trying to set her mom up with him; it is equal parts hilarious and chaotic. The hockey teams' dynamic is pure entertainment. The banter is hilarious as it bounces back and forth as they all feed off each other. I’m already looking forward to seeing what Savannah has in store for the next couple.
Thank you Savannah & Booksprout for the ARC. 4.5 Stars
What a breath of fresh air! We need to stop looking down on age gaps, as this story was great and Brynn and Colton were made for each other!!
We meet Brynn, who lost her dad earlier in her life with a mom that still cannot deal with the loss.... all while working for the hockey team that her mom owns (dad played for). In comes Colton, who has nothing to lose, and a four year plan to boot... to rebuild the Vipers and then get back to NYC to a better team. But once he met Brynn, all bets were off... minus the scandal that was still the elephant in his daily life. Colton needed to decide if another scandal from being in the limelight would define him or break him.

So, the Vegas Vipers hire him as a head coach after a scandal involving his old team donor’s daughter. He meets Brynn, the new team owner’s daughter. He’s interested in her, but doesn’t want to be, and also thinks her mum is more appropriate for him. She’s interested in him, but tries to steer clear for her mum, planning to matchmake. Thankfully, that OTT messy, drama-filled plot was avoided, but it didn’t remain drama free. Colton said he was in, but he had a foot out the door the entire way.
It was spicy, helped along by the forbidden/off-limits aspect.
Book 1 of Vegas Vipers. And a FANtastic start it is! Look forward to more from this world.
'Now the man hired to fix my family’s franchise is looking at me like I’m the one thing he wants, and every smart decision I’ve ever made is hanging by a thread.'
The characters were very complex and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was excellent and impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend!

The story starts with drama from pretty much the first page. It hooked me from the start. The FMC, Brynn, ha s come back after college to be with her mom. Her mom is the owner of a struggling hockey team and hires the MMC as the coach. The age gap is 14 years so and there is minor drama due to a scandal from the MMC's past. The MMC has a really dirty mouth when they are in private. :) There is no unnecessary drama of a 3rd act breakup.

Her Coach is a different genre of book for Savannah Rylan. Using a sports phrase, "she definitely hit one out of the park". Colton is the coach and Brynn is the owners daughter. Savannah's descriptions of the hockey practices and games were written so completely and with such precision. I was completely absorbed in the story. Colton is such a good man for Brynn. Their love story is sweet and such an inspiration. Colton is sexy as sin. Her Coach is perfection.

Colton comes to coach the Vegas Vipers fresh from a scandal that cost him his last coaching job. Brynn is the owner’s daughter and community outreach manager. The chemistry between them is obvious right away, but Brynn is determined to set him up with her mom (who isn’t interested) and Colton is gun shy after the way things fell apart at his previous job. My favorite thing about this book was the team banter and interaction between them and the MCs. Can’t wait to see some of the guys from the team get their own books!
I really liked this story but the numerous inconsistencies annoyed me. Ignore those and it’s a really good book. The hockey was going good and realistic and then it wasn’t, no adult leagues play a mere 18 games in a season. I like that the book started with Brynn thinking she was going to set Colton up with her mother. It doesn’t take her too long to see the problem with that. Liked the HEA. Good story overall with wonderful characters and great steam. On a different note, Mom and Rhett??? Don’t know the age difference there but the next book better be about them.
Really enjoyed this age gap romance. The story flowed well and it was an easy read with great chemistry between Colton and Brynn. It was both sweet and hot in places and had the right balance of actual hockey play and romance. The only thing that let it down was that it finished without a completed end to their story; there just needed to be more to satisfy my individual expectations. Can’t wait for the next however.

This sports romance is filled with drama that had me all caught up in Colton and Brynn. They both have issues and come together in this book. He is with a new team starting over and connects with Brynn who happens to be the owner's daughter. Their connection leads them along the road to renewal. It is a heartfelt story that grabs you and have you cheering this couple on to finding happiness.

Her Coach is a different genre of book for Savannah Rylan than I'm used to reading from her and I really hope she comes out with more hockey books as this was amazing. Colton is the coach and older than Brynn who is the owner's daughter. I was completely absorbed in the story. Their love story is sweet and such an inspiration. Can't wait for the next book to come out from Brynn.

This was so good. Pulled me in from the very first chapter. Colton was a got older guy. I could see why Brynn was so attracted to him. But Colton not wanting another scandal, steered clear of her. And Brynn tried doing the same. Well things didn’t go to plan, and they ended up getting together. This was such an intense and hot read. Absolutely loved the push and pull between these two. I can’t wait to read the next one.
Colton leaves a scandal behind for a fresh start coaching in Las Vegas. Brynn’s mom is the owner of the team and she tries setting her mom and Colton up. Her mom is too hung up on her deceased father to be interested in Colton, and Colton is interested in Brynn. The two have undeniable chemistry despite their age gap. Brynn teaches Colton how to forget to past and love himself again, and Colton teaches Brynn how to start living for herself. I can’t wait for the series to continue!!
Colton is the new coach for the Vegas Vipers hockey team. He has dealt with scandal in the past. Brynn is the daughter of the team’s owner. There is an age gap between Colton and Brynn but it doesn’t seem to matter to them. Even her mother sees the relationship developing between them. This is a very good new series from Savannah Rylan. It’s a very enjoyable read. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book via Booksprout.
What a great beginning to the new Vegas Vipers series. Colton and Bryan will grab your attention right at the beginning in his age-gap romance. He's definitely off limits as he's the coach for her mother's hockey team. Endless flirting, fun banter, plenty of steam and more. The characters are complex and likable. A story line that engages you. An HEA and no cliffhanger. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Likable Story... Overall I liked this book, but there were moments that ruined the flow for me. Little bits here or there that did not make sense. Inconsistencies with timing or location descriptions. I did enjoy the story and the characters! It was entertaining, I just wished the flow was not ruined for me.

Coach Colter Mercer slept with the wrong woman and it cost him his job. Now he as accepted a job as head coach for the Vegas Vipers, they both need each other. The owner's daughter, Brynn, thinks he would be good for her mom on a personal level but she is not the woman he is interested in. Colton is trying to stay away from her but it becomes impossible to do so.

I love a good hockey romance, and this one did not disappoint. I am totally obsessed with the book cover. The steam was on point, and the Brynn and Colton are supposed to be forbidden since he is her family's new hockey coach. He wanted her from the beginning, but she was going to set him up with her mother. I couldn't stop reading this book and I didn't want to put it down.

Book 1 of Vegas Vipers series, this is about Brynn and Colton. I like that Brynn helps Colton start to care about himself again, and Colton helps Brynn start to really live again. Healing from the past isn’t easy, but finding the person who makes you want to try is everything.

Colton is starting over coaching a new team with a fresh start. Brynn’s mom is the owner of that team. The two have chemistry but with the age gap and Brynn being the daughter of his new boss, Colton doesn’t want another scandal. Can either overcome everything and find true happiness?
Loved this book. Colton is a hockey coach but after a scandal he lost his job so he took a new coaching job in vegas but what he didn't expect was Bryan the owners daughter. Will the same thing happen or will this be a true relationship?.

Phew this was so good. Colton and Brynn so good. An age gap that wasn’t the main focus just brought up when having conversations. And was their spice yes and at the perfect moments that helped move the story along. Colton coming in off of a scandal with his old team he coached and then falling for the owners daughter what could happen?
