An exquisitely written tale of three generations of women as they come to terms with loss, grief, family secrets and trauma. This book is beautifully written, the characters come alive and will stay with you long after the book is finished. It is one of those books you can't help racing through because the story draws you in so much but then you are bereft at the end because the characters feel like old friends. Every sentence of this book gave me joy to read, you must buy it and see for yourself the beauty and power of this novel.

A really beautifully written book. Dissects the family unit in a subtle and yet devastating way. Dawson nails the repressed backgrounds of her main characters and brings the North Down landscape and fauna into play to create an engaging plot line that hauls the reader along. Her timing in delivery is impeccable.
Reason did not warrant 5⭐️ lies in the ending. To me came over as a cheap ROMCOM bolt-on, twee and unnecessary. Pity - super writing.

A beautiful story about three generations of women in County Down Northern Ireland. It delves deeply into their stories and lives while telling a great story. It stayed with me and made me think, loved it
