There are some sacrifices we never recover from…

Faye Middleton is at a crossroads in her life. After breaking the last seal and discovering their Rebellion camp was destroyed, she returns to Ethryeal City, determined to avenge the deaths of her mother and friends.

Faye and her team do what they can to keep their Coven intact now that the Priesthood has fallen, but with Darkyn attacks threatening the exposure of their kind, the Primeval Coven is close to being cut off by the United Nations.

Until Meredith, a mysterious Darkyn, appears, claiming she has information that will help Faye bring down the two responsible for the deaths of her mother and friends, and for the fall of her Coven. The only catch is that it requires returning to the very place she lost her mother—the Underground.

Not wanting to risk any more lives, Faye and Weldon agree to go with Meredith on their own. They know Faye will have to face the one machine every Coven is after—the Exanimator. No one who has ever stepped in has ever come out the same, if at all…

But Faye will do anything she can to protect those she loves, even if it costs her life.

holy! I can't wait for the next one! winter is to far away!

I love Weldon without this book it is way to serious, there would be no humor in it.. He makes you want to smack him on the head and hug him and never let him go at the same time.. He is a good friend, more like a big brother to faye and he does anything to protect her..
But his brother Mack, I still don't like him, the fact is I see him as a male Clara, the fact that they were bonded or marked made sense to me. Even though Mack wants the good side to win, he wants the power that comes with it.. it does not matter who he has to sacrifice to make that happen, just like Clara only she was on the bad side..

Faye is still one kick-ass lady and one of my fav. characters I have read so far, she is selfless and always put the others above her own life. Jaxon is perfect book boyfriend, they had there struggles on the way but they are or were 2 lost souls becoming one. Jezi, I grown to really love her and I feel extremely sorry for her, but I can't help but feel that after Faye removed her mark from Jaxen and from her that she really saw who Faye really was and never meant for her to lose Jaxen... and Gavin.. I hope he will get his happy ending will he become a hunter again or will he become something else..? although before and if he gets that (happiness) the road will be an extremely long and painfull one..

I can't wait for the next book and see Weldon and Claire together yet also I am dreading it, What happens now that Claire is back?, she is Weldon's witch and affinity partner, so how will that affect not only them but Faye? She and Weldon have been partners for the better of 4 books and I can't say anything but that I love them together, the way the work and trust and the unspoken words between them.. I really just hope the relationship they have built will still be the same..

I've just finished reading and I nearly had a heart attack because for some reason I had got it into my head that this was the last book in the series and I thought 'surely this is not how Candace has chosen to end this series as it basically hasn't ended.' Luckily I decided to come onto Goodreads and check out the other reviews and phew there's another book coming. Praise be!!

I really enjoyed this book. If I'm being honest though the character that shines for me is Weldon and not Jaxen or Faye. I do like the lead H/h but it's Weldon that has me hooked in this series. I love his attitude and I can tell he's charming and protective. Having said that even if he wasn't in the book is still read it due to this series being great on its own.

What a great 4th instalment, bring on the next one :-)

My Thoughts:
With everything that went down in book three I couldn't WAIT to see where Candace took us with this novel.  We weren't let down. It was another rollercoaster that left my breathless again and again.

With everything that Faye has gone though, you think she would finally get some time to catch her breath, but the hits keep on coming.

If you are reading this I hope that you have read the previous 3 novels. If not, go do that before you read this book. Trust me. You need to.

The priesthood has been taking down, but was it worth the cost? I don't know about you, but my heart hurts. With Faye now in Ethereal City again and things coming to the ultimate boiling point I know I was on edge the whole book. I knew something was going to happen and I was ready for it.

okay.

I wasn't ready.

Prepare yourself. This novel is a wild ride from start to finish. Nothing and No-one is safe. Everdeep leaves you salivating for the next novel in this series. It all comes down to this? Are you ready?

Best In series yet

Faye is so strong and determined to avenge the death of her friends and finish off Mourdyn, you see her growing with each battle she goes through. I'm loving Weldon and his crazy personality. Jaxen of course would be anyone's book boyfriend. Cassies death was hard to take and I know it made the story better but it was still hard to read and of course Gavins reaction was a tear jerker. Can't wAit for the next one!

Great Continuing Story

Ms. Knoebel does a not disappoint us with this book. Still the twists and turns you have come to expect in the night watchmen series, along with the love that Faye has for her circle keeps us wanting more. Can't wait until the final book

I started reading this book straight after I had finished the third book in the series! I did try and read it slowly because I know that this series is coming to a close, and I really wanted to try and make it last a bit longer lol! After reading, I can say that I loved this book! Again, there was a lot going on in it and there was plenty of action, suspense and romance in the plot that left me desperate to read on! There wasn't as much romance in this book as what they had been in previous books, but that's because of reasons I won't go into because I could ruin the plot lol! I just loved the plot and the direction that the author took it in! It had plenty of twist and turns in it and it had the big action scene that the series had been leading up to! It was just written brilliantly and I would recommend this series to anyone that loves paranormal books that are different and will take you on an adventure! The characters were again amazing and made this book even better! Faye was again the main character, and in this book Faye was again being pulled in several different directions and was dealing with a lot! I really don't know how she did it! She stayed so strong even though there were a million times where she could have broke down! Faye also started to push the people closest to her away, which was the wrong thing to do in my opinion, but I could understand why Faye felt she had to! She did it to protect them! Faye had just come such a long way and she really impressed me in this book! She was also prepared to sacrifice a lot to defeat the threat against her and her friends! Jaxen was again the love interest of Faye in this book! I loved Jaxen in this book! He was very brave and you could see that he would do anything for Faye and to help her! Jaxen also went through a few problems in his relationship with Faye in this book, but he never gave up on them as a couple and he tried to support Faye as much as she would let him! This made me love him even more lol! Jaxen had also grown a lot as a character and he had matured a lot and had a better idea as to what he wanted in his life! The secondary characters again added a lot to this book and I loved all of them, even the evil ones lol! Each character was amazing and had their own purpose in the plot, which I loved! Like the other books in this series, this book was only written from Faye's point of view! I wasn't surprised by this, and like the other books, I really enjoyed this book only being written from Faye's point of view! It really helped me connect with her and understand why she made the decisions that she did! I also can't wait to read the next book in this series! I know that it's the final book, which makes me very upset, but I can't wait to see how Faye's story is going to end! I'm really happy that it's already released too and it's definitely my next read! I also have no idea which direction the author is going to take it in because the big action scene was in this book lol! The cover for this book is stunning! I love it a lot! The model on the front is the perfect Faye and she looks kick-ass, which definitely makes her suit the character of Faye lol!
