“Fatso II: Hunger Ward,” the direct sequel to John Monsee’s “Fatso,” allows us to catch up with our morbidly obese, cannibalistic friend, Priscilla.
The story picks up months after her violent rampage at the convenience store where she is now being detained at a high-security psychiatric hospital. Deemed functionally mute by the powers that be overseeing the hospital, Priscilla spends her days wasting time away in silence and largely left alone by the staff and her peers. She is “treated” by given copious amounts of food — especially pudding — to keep her quiet and unproblematic. For all intents and purposes it seems to work. Enter Dr. Rourke. My initial impression (as silly as I know it was) was that he was going to be someone who related and got through to her. He certainly tries to be the hero, but not in any protagonistic kind of way. It is quickly realized that he is a self-righteous, arrogant prick of the highest order. His attempts to curb her eating habits and thereby minimizing her maladaptive behavior are terribly foolish and short sighted and lead to awful, bloody results.
While I did enjoy the book as a whole, I didn’t find myself as absorbed by it as I did its predecessor. There were places where I felt as I thought I was losing interest and had to force myself to continue. Fortunately, it did pick up again rather quickly after that and I was able to re-engage with the story and the characters.

I finished the first novella last night and was excited to see there was a sequel published 9 days ago! So of course I immediately read it.
This book was not as good as the first, but it was extremely entertaining and it flew by! I love Priscilla but I wish we could find out more about her... is she human? What makes her so incredibly OP? Like this girl can kill anyone and everyone without a struggle from them! She is sooo strong and I thought it was crazy that ****** SPOILERS NEXT ******** almost every murder she committed, she got away with, not including the end of the book of course! I felt this way in the first book too. When she killed that worker at the grocery store I was like are there not cameras? In this book, after she killed that employee in the staff only bathroom, did no one walk up to use it while she was cleaning up her bloody mess?
Both this book and the first kinda ended the same, which makes me think there might be a third book in store for us! If so, I will gladly pick it up. John Monsees writes wonderfully and I love his descriptions of the murders. He really made it feel icky and I loved that!

I mean this one was just as crazy as number 1. Was kinda hoping Priscilla wouldn’t make it out alive but the girl is persistent I’ll say that. Found myself skipping through the gory parts because I can’t stomach it. Crazy read though

gripping thrilling great finish
Loved these two books enjoyed the premise and the development of main character the last part to this was so thrilling page turned and have no low found myself at the end

I liked this one a little more than the first. It's still a quick fun read.
