Amy Maltman’s first novel, Ride Every Stride, reached #1 on Amazon charts around the world. Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Amy grew up obsessed with animals and Star Wars. Not much has changed.

A graduate of the Universities of Guelph and Toronto, Amy is now a disabled pharmacist with syringomyelia, a rare spinal cord disorder. She enjoys spending time with her menagerie of pets (which is never large enough), watching too much TV (including Supernatural and True Blood marathons), playing Dungeons and Dragons, and collecting Funko Pops.

Amy is passionate about animal rights and the environment. She dreams of opening an animal sanctuary named Boomerang Farm and Sanctuary in honour of her golden retriever, Boomer, who died from cancer in 2015.

She once met Alexander Skarsgård and it was the best day of her life.

There was never a dull moment in this fast-paced, equestrian-themed novel. The author did a great job of creating a dramatic and mysterious plot filled with suspense, romance and action. As a rider, I appreciated the accuracy of the horse/riding scenes throughout. I believe readers who have read and enjoyed the A Circuit series will also enjoy this book. A fun summer read!

Loved this book.

I really enjoyed this book. The equestrian details were correct. That is important to me. I thought the story line and the characters were fully developed.

More ups and downs and twisty turns than a Spruce Meadows GP

When I realized when this book was written, I was very sad, because I realized there likely wouldn't be a sequel.
Nailbiting, heart wrenching plot; characters uncomfortably (sometkmes) realistic.
I sure hope you received an A+ for thjs, Amy!

I would say this is a good YA book, if not for the sex and drugs. It's a bit racy for YA, but a bit juvenile for adults. I enjoyed the story, though it was a bit fantastical. The book is well written, and the riding scenes are accurate and thorough (which, as a former rider myself, I appreciate).

Fantastic debut novel by a brilliant author. Maltman weaves several characters into an engrossing novel. Jed the main character is tough yet vulnerable as he makes his way up in the horse riding world. The author builds characters that we want to hate and others we want to love. I read this novel in 2 days propelled to learn if the protagonist would gain it or lose it all!
