The Power of Gems & Crystals is more about the author’s personal experience than the supposed subject matter. It’s so me, me, me that the message gets lost. Although it’s not poorly written, it’s by no means engaging. Not what I was hoping for at all.

Decent information, but without pictures it's hard to know what gem it is. Read on conjunction with the internet

This is a beautiful reading, a personal story outlining crystals and how the author integrates them into her life. I found it helpful especially the points she made on how to choose for yourself and others, the in-depth explanations on colors and healing, attunement, the language of numerology, and dreams.

In reading it I used a crystal Bible to use as a reference for some of the mentioned pictures. Such an easy, digestible read.

It ignited my passion to greater heights, I can't wait to start using crystals purposefully. :)

This book is more of a history of crystals from the author’s point of view. The book is very focused on her experiences. As such, it is not informative. Came to this title as I was given a very large geode and wanted to learn more about it. (I was thinking of selling it, but shifted my perspective to view myself as a custodian of this magnificent crystal that is from centuries ago and will continue to live on past me). However ( as I type this review and originally gave it 3 stars), I appreciate the positive, hopeful sharing spirit of the book. And that is pretty important too.

I bought this book because I thought it would help me have a better/ general understanding of how gems and crystals are formed, what they're used for, how to use them, etc. And although I did learn a lot from this book, it was all based on the author's life experiences. I also noticed that a lot of the information were redundant and there were several stories that I found a bit hard to believe. Maybe they were true stories and I just didn't like the narration? Also, it would have been nice if she provided some photos of the stones for reference. At least the most common ones. I'm pretty new to this thing so I'm not familiar with what a shungite looks like.
