Bedtime Stories For Cats is the purrfect book for humans who let their cat sleep on their face, who only read half of the newspaper because the cat's on top of it, and who have given up on shoelaces.
Cat lovers cuddle, caress, and cater to their adorable but aloof feline friends. The cat, in fact, has become one of the country's most beloved pets, with some 90 million kitties claimed by doting owners.
Now, Leigh Anne Jasheway's Bedtime Stories for Cats gives cat lovers everywhere new and inventive stories to lull their furballs to sleep. In "Rumpled Katzkin," for example, silky Phoebe the Cat impersonates Barbra Streisand, but longs not for riches but for more time with her nerdy owner. In "Kitty and the Beast," a not-so-beautiful cat adopts a young girl who subsequently learns that beauty is only fur deep. And in "Puss and the Missing Boots," feline detective Pussywillow Claudius Rex the Third ("The name's Puss") solves the mystery when Dollface Molloy's blue suede, over-the-knee boots are reportedly stolen by a cat burglar.
Bedtime Stories for Cats is a humorous feline-oriented interpretation of some of America's favorite classics, from "The Three Alley Cats Gruff" to "Catpunzel." Jasheway has written a purrfectly delightful book guaranteed to make readers meow.

Fun little book with several familiar fairy tale stories with a twist. Cats are all the characters in each of the stories too. Hannah insisted reading this to our kitties at bedtime.
I read a couple pages of the first story to my kitty a few years ago because I figured, ‘he’s already spoiled, so why not go a little further.’ If I remember right, I was only a couple pages in and noticed he’d already fallen asleep beside me; however, he just falls asleep easily. So, cannot say for certain whether the bedtime story did the trick or not, but you do you.
If you’ve ever wondered what fairy tales would be like from a cat’s point of view, then this is the book for you! This imaginative little book has several well-known fairy tales reworked to make a cat the focal point of the story. Well written and delightful, this book will amuse young and old, and may even captivate your kitties.
Cute concept. It wasnt horrible. But for me personally, i found the language to be over explanatory. Perhaps it was meant for younger readers. However it is an interesting adaptation to classic bedtime stories.
Bedtime Stories for Cats provides a short story collection based on well-known fables. However, instead of humans or other animals, here cats fill the key roles.
Author Leigh Anne Jasheway revamps familiar, almost classic fairy tales and the results turn out more literary than I would've expected in this sub-genre. Cat humor is often fairly basic but Jasheway’s offering manages to move outside the trite “can you believe our cats do such wacky stuff?” range.
When it could’ve done so much less, Bedtime Stories for Cats delivers a clever twist on a common theme.
Hmmm. A cute premise. I just wish I got a chance to say something other than--move over, get off the pillow, and stop biting and scratching my feet to my kitties at bedtime. However, the stories are adorable.
I got this for my sister for christmas because it combined my love of fairytales and her love of cata, and its so weird and clever it made a great gift.
My mom gave me this book for Christmas and it was a pleasant little read for New Years Day. Amusing twists on the fairy-tales with a definite cat's eye perspective.
