Welcome to Zits , the brilliantly funny comic strip that is the perfect portrayal of life with a teenager—complete with an eye-rolling teen and well-intentioned, but baffled, parents.
Teenagers are a lot like zombies--slow-moving, difficult to communicate with, and always, always hungry. Luckily, Zits Apocalypse is here to shed some light on the ups, downs, and in-betweens of parenting teens. Join the Duncan family--Connie, Walt, and Jeremy--as they grapple with modern technology, confront an endless sea of dirty laundry, and learn to bridge the cultural divide between parents and teenagers.
Zits Apocalypse offers a light-hearted yet insightful look at the multifaceted lives of modern teens and their families, complemented with annotations from the creators. From financial trouble to the perils of young love, this collection broaches relevant and familiar topics with with, wit, humor, and affection.
I borrowed a bunch of these from the library, I'm trying to catch up on comics that I've been reading forever. I loved these when they first came out and just out of my teens and I was sympathizing with the teens in the book. Now it's flipped and I've realized I've started understanding where Jeremy's parents are coming from. Still great and as long as they keep printing these I'll keep reading them.
Our girls love to borrow these books of comic strip compilations. This is a humorous collection about American family life with a young adult in the house.
The strips focus on Jeremy, the high school student, and how he perceives his parents and other family members.
The humor is a bit more mature and gritty than what you see in comic strips like Foxtrot by Bill Amend.
Our girls really like this series, in fact our youngest daughter took this book from my hands while I was reading it. That is why there was a week between when I started it and when I finished it.
I really liked the commentary that the authors added to many of the strips. I'm sure we'll look for more of these books at our local library.
As a fan of Zits for many years, I have decided to buy and read all of the books in the series. While I prefer comic compilations to present the strips in the date order they were produced, Zits seemed to abandon that traditional concept a while ago in favor of "treasuries" that compile the strips around broad themes. Of the treasuries I have read so far, Apocalypse is my favorite! The comics are presented in a large, easy to read format and plenty of color ones fill the volume. I really enjoyed reading these strips, and I am sure every fan of the series will also!
I love this comic strip. Every character provides comedy gold.
What's especially awesome about this is that Jerry Scott and Jim Borgman actually include commentary under the majority of the strips. The comics themselves are funny on their own, but the inclusion of artist and writer commentary makes this such a great read.
Zits Apocalypse: Are You Ready? (Zits) by Jerry Scott, Jim Borgman -- The commentary on the bottom of some of these strips is funnier than the actual comics sometimes! Totally worth the purchase! Happy Reading!
Hilarious and funny! Really brought back memories from my own teenage years. As a father of three I see a lot in them too. This is the age when you are legally insane and do so many things that you can’t get away with later in life. Read it!
This series is a joy to read. Instead of a few really funny cartoons this one is filled with really funny ones and oftentimes is pretty much true to what actually happens when you have a teen-age son.
Nothing terribly transcendental here. I've lived Zits! since I first found them in the newspaper. To sit down and read them in collection was an absolute treat! All tur aligning stories at once, the notes for panels. Very happy with this
I am a week out from having knee surgery. This book was incredible pain relief I actually got to laughìg so much that I forgot about my pain. I hope that tells you how wonderful this book is.
I've been a fan of the comic for a long time and even though I'd seen a number of these before because they've been Sunday strips or in the papers, I was still delighted to see them. They're always good for a laugh.
I just love the Zits comics. I have a young adult son so I can completely relate to the humor. The only drawback to this book is the larger format which I don't care for.
