Burning Sinners: An Arcadia Sinners Novel

Rate this book
“Because I’m obsessed with you. Hell, I forgot how much I was, but when I saw you again…”

Azalea’s life used to be filled with chaos, and she hated chaos. For that reason, she ensured her life was neat and orderly. She has a job in a bookstore, a boyfriend, and is learning to hide her botanical Mageía powers. But when Nick—her old childhood friend—crashes back into her life, her world is turned upside down once more.

When Nick sees Azalea, he knows he won’t leave her side again, no matter the cost. He has to protect her now that the lawless underworld—his world—has come out of the shadows. The Brotherhood will come for all Mageía, and Azalea has no idea how deep she has gotten herself into trouble.

Pulled between two sides, Azalea has to find out who can be trusted and who can’t—even if the truth hurts.

Burning Sinners is part of Arcadia Sinners, a dark and steamy romance series with fantasy sprinkled in. The book can be read as a standalone.

A super fast read! Loved the characters’ powers, especially Azalea's . Cute and fun (and spicy!) read, perfect to take us away from RL for a few hours, while also bringing attention to how society judges and treats those who are different, and how those views can shape how "the different" see themselves.

The book felt contemporary with a good amount of fantasy, so if this is something you appreciate (I do!), you might enjoy this one.

ps.: ARC copy. The opinion is my own.

Arc Review:
Thank you Talle Fey for providing me
a chance to read your arc!

Burning Sinners is a Dark Romance that delivers second chances, remembering your self worth, clear communication, crazy extremist, powers called magíea, steamy open door fun, mystery, and found family!

Burning Sinners literally starts off with a bang or more like a boom and it kept me wanting to know what was going to happen to Azalea and Nick after their first encounter.
I was in for a treat!

Azalea is our autistic mc who portrays how she feels and handles some intense situations in ways that help her to self regulate. She endured being ridiculed by terrible people due to her mageía at the start. I loved seeing her growth and fierceness change with her as the story progressed.

Having Nick understand her needs and communicated clearly with her was beautifully written. Another thing I liked was our morally grey semi red flag criminal Nick take out those who got in his and his Psychí Mou way. He never gave up and respected Azalea which I was all about. He is not THAT bad... ehehe.

Azalea and Nick definitely match each others freak! The club scene was my favorite in terms of Azalea learning to love her mageía and having some fun along the way. It was definitely burning up when things truly got hot between them especially in the club. 🥵

I truly enjoyed how Burning Sinners intersected with Sin Eater. I loved seeing the interactions between each of the characters. There was this wholesome moment for what the future may hold for everyone in the Arcadia Sinners world. Excited to see what you will write next!

This was a fun, quick read with so much potential! I really enjoyed the concept of the story, especially the magic and the unique abilities of the characters.
I loved the idea of Azalea learning to embrace her abilities and finding confidence in herself. I also appreciated how Nick made an effort to understand her needs and support her.
My biggest struggle was the pacing. I felt like much of the story, especially the development of Azalea and Nick’s relationship, happened a little too quickly. I would have loved more time to really get to know the characters and watch their connection grow. There were so many interesting elements that I wish we’d gotten to explore a little more!
Overall, this was an enjoyable read! While I would have loved a little more depth and development, I still appreciated the story and what the author was trying to create.
Thank you to Talle Fey for the opportunity to read this ARC! 🖤

I received a complimentary copy of this book. My review is voluntary and reflects my honest opinion.

Book besties, this one pulled at my heartstrings! Azalea (our FMC) is super relatable from the first page we meet her. I love the attention to detail surrounding her powers and autism and how Azalea comes to love herself through her rekindled relationship with Nick (our MMC). From the very first page I wanted to know more about their relationship and how they came to be in New Arcadia.

From the first chapter we are tossed into a civil war that has poor Azalea wondering who she can trust. I finished this book in a day and a half!

There are some graphic moments (both spicy and violent) so please read the content warnings if that is a concern.

I loved, that I finally read a book, where the FMC is autistic. I could relate to her. How she felt in some situations. And that she doesn't like surprises.

The book was a great read. You see Azalea grow as a person, accepting who she is and what she can do.

How Nick knows exactly what to do. When it all gets to much for Azalea.

He helps her, to find herself. In the meantime, she is helping him too.

I love the chemistry and spice between Azalea and Nick. Was it soon, after a breakup? Maybe, but sometimes you just know who is your person.

The story line was well written. The enemy was a red thread through out the story.

I want to thank Talle Fey, for sending me the ARC.

A well-conceived story.
It’s a book featuring people with powers—powers that are generally perceived as bad or wrong. There are both good and bad characters, but not everyone who seems bad is truly bad, and not everyone who seems good is truly good—you have to figure that out for yourself. Many secrets are revealed, and the truth isn’t always what it initially appears to be.
I love the relationship between the main persons and how they want to help each other. A lot has happened between them in the past
A good, easy-to-read book.

Burning Sinners was the first book I read in the Arcadia World, and I absolutely loved it. I wasn't sure what to expect. At first, I thought it was only told from Azalea's perspective, but I was happy when it was Nick's turn. I like two POV's in stories, or more if it works. And in this case, it did. The magic system was easy to understand, and I've always liked the idea of plant magic, so I was happy it was being used here.
Once I really started to read the story, I couldn't put it away until I was finished reading.

Sweet and fast read, great plotting. I could not put this down to sleep last night!
Azalea and Nick are well-realised characters, and they live a richly described life as they face the fire together. The magic system was easy to grasp, and though I haven't read the first book of the series yet, this standalone was a really enticing tale. Goodly amount of smut, well spread through the story.

Received from Author. This was such a fun and fast read. The magic system was well written/explained and easy to understand. I loved the detective/mystery elements and how they were woven with the magical world. This is a standalone in this world and I cannot wait to read more of the stories that take place with these characters and in this universe.

Overall I enjoyed the book. It Azalea and Nick's story really touched my heart. I also empathize and commiserate with Azalea and her loathing for change and miscommunication. I loved the way they communicated as a couple. It was brilliant.
