Claimed by the Rancher by Ivy Sexton opens The Brides of Dusty Creek series with a classic tale of love, trust, and small-town charm. Ivy Sexton’s writing is pleasant, but the setting is largely left undescribed, with only brief mentions of the barn, house, paddock, and garden, offering little sense of the place. The chemistry between the main characters develops at lightning speed, jumping from strangers to romantic interests in an instant. Readers expecting a slow-burn romance will be surprised by how quickly the relationship escalates.
The plot follows a fairly predictable path, relying on familiar tropes without adding much freshness or surprise. The characters’ backgrounds and personalities aren’t really explored—even the main characters have very little explanation. This makes it hard to connect with them, and the story sometimes feels rushed or flat. Not the Greatest.
There was no depth to the characters or their stories, things were not developed and spoken about enough for anything to have real meaning.
I didn't particularly like the characters, and every scene was them having sex thats it.
There was no deep conversations, no difficulties in the relationship. And the sex scenes were just very repetitive and kind of cringey

Not sure what I think of this one.
Different than what I am use to. Lots of smut like I love. Just very different. Sometimes it's like he treats her like I would picture her father treating her. Other times it's like he worships her.

Claimed by the Rancher is Book 1 of The Brides of Dusty Creek. This is Colt Harlow and Macy Calloway's story .This story has secrets, chemistry and plenty of steam. These two feel the spark from the very beginning. I prefer to read a book with more structure, needed more to the story.

I liked the amount of steaminess but they jumped in awfully fast and he sounded like an alpha wolf. Didn’t exactly sound like a real life kind of scenario.

Short but addictive slightly different so hang on you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned. Macy hasn’t always had a great life living with a demanding father his gambling has called so many issued for her, debt on top of debt she can’t pay it back unbeknownst to her accepting a job as a live-in housekeeper away from him in hopes of finding a little peace but in reality her debt she was sold to pay his debt, and she arriving meeting her employer or who she thinks is her employer but there is more to the job then meets the eye. Colt sexy as all get out rancher who hired a live-in housekeeper well that what was she was told in reality he paid her father’s gambling debt to give her freedom to live her life but he has to keep the truth from her but the moment he heard her voice he knew she was his and keeping the truth from her wasn’t going to be an issue for him because he was going to show how good life could be when she was free, when she is loved for here, appreciated for her but will she see it that way especially after finding out the truth of why she was hired, the settlement of the bet, will she walk away from the job all together, or will they find happiness somewhere along the way?
