I was EXTREMELY EXCITED to dive into this book as it takes a step away from Nikki’s sport romance genre! And what a more FABULOUS way to do that than with a COWBOY ROMANCE!
In the aftermath of one disaster after another, Aurelia is determined to nail whatever this new role throws at her. Unfortunately for her, it includes something that she lied that she could do, and now she actually HAS TO DO IT! Quinton Holloway and his family’s ranch are struggling to keep afloat. With the show, it could help them and BOY DOES IT EVER AND THEN SOME! In the midst of Aurelia preparing for her role, in the hopes of not screwing up with Quinton’s help, things OF COURSE don’t go to plan! Now having to be in a fake relationship with one another, Aurelia and Quinton go through the motions of learning more about each other, and IT GETS INTERESTING! I LOVED QUINTON! He was TOO CUTE! Charming, witty, and SUCH A SWEETHEART! With his big heart that he wears on his sleeve, he is determined in helping Aurelia even though he may break his own heart as a result! Of course, he also is AN ABSOLUTE GOOD. BOY. *smirk* At times, my heart went out to Aurelia with how she had to live her life in the spotlight. Especially with some traumatic events and who caused them, by the way, THEY ARE ALL A BUNCH OF FUCKING ASSHOLES. THE WHOLE LOT OF THEM! With that being said, as a whole I wasn’t connecting Aurelia’s personality and character, especially with how she treated Quint in some instances. The mixed signals for most of the book regarding her feelings toward him (even though she liked him but was scared), didn’t sit right with me. Nonetheless, I REALLY ENJOYED their chemistry of her being in charge in the bedroom! NOW THAT WAS SPICY!
A LOT and I mean A LOT of characters have the potential with their stories in upcoming books for this series and I AM SO ESTATIC FOR THOSE! Overall I adored the story and it’s charms, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
Thank you, Nikki, Jewell, for providing a copy of an ARC in exchange of an honest review!
I am a lover of Cowboy Romances and this one did not disappoint! I have not read a Cowboy x Celebrity romance before and I was super excited to read this one.
The story follows Aura, a burned-out Hollywood actress who finds what feels like her first real home on an Alberta ranch and Quint, a younger cowboy who is teaching her how to ride a horse for a role she is set to play.
I really enjoyed the relationships between all of the characters and getting to know the characters. I felt like there was growth and it didn’t feel rushed. I loved how not only Aura and Quint’s friendship grew over time but their relationship as well. I thought it was a beautiful story
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I’d never read a cowboy romance before, so I wasn’t sure it would be my thing. It turns out cowboys are definitely my thing!
This book follows Aurelia (Aura), a Hollywood actress struggling to land roles after a nasty breakup with her ex, and Quinton (Quint), a young cowboy fresh out of college who has returned home to help on the family ranch.
When money gets tight, Quint’s family decides to rent out their property as a filming location for a TV series. Aura arrives early to prepare for her role and asks Quint to teach her how to ride a horse.
As the riding lessons continue, a friendship begins to bloom. But then something happens, and things in Hollywood aren’t always what they seem…
Trigger Warnings • Death of a parent (mentioned) • Anxiety and panic attacks • A barn fire leading to the death of a horse (mentioned) • Cheating
Tropes • Cowboy romance • Small-town romance set in Canada • Fake dating • He falls first • She’s in charge
**ARC Review** ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a slow start book for me, and I did struggle to get into it. I persevered through this, and it was worth the wait! Cowboy romances will forever carry a special place in my heart, and I loved the city girl x country boy theme throughout this book. Aura is a city girl who is used to the spotlight. She is used to a particular way of life, and you can tell quite early on that she isnt exactly comfortable in a ranch environment. Likewise, Quint is not remotely keen on finding a city girl to charm. He is set on creating a new beginning for the ranch and his eyes are firmly fixed on business. I loved how Aura and Quint's attraction grew over time and it was clear by the end that they were meant to be.
Thank you so much for giving me the ARC. Cowboy era.
Heartwarming!!! Cozy!!! Spectacular!!!
Aura oh my this girl i felt for her from page one to live life constantly in survival mode, worried every moment of what peoples intentions are. But our girl is no door mat. Then in walks our cowboy who is a golden retriever with a fun nerdy side you cant help but feel charmed by. His energy and hopeless romantic heart is everything. The slow burn chemistry these two have will leave you in need of a good water bottle. I also love a spicy 'good boy' moment. If you love a country boy meets city girl romance this one needs to be your next read.
Thank you to Nikki Jewell for the ARC! Aura is a Hollywood actress who is struggling to land roles after ending a horrible relationship. Quint is a cowboy at the ranch where Aura's new show is being filmed. They strike up a friendship when Quint teaches Aura how to ride and take care of a horse. At the behest of Aura's publicist, they decide to fake date.
I could feel the chemistry and love between these two characters (in my notes I wrote Aura taking charge=hot!). They built each other up and developed an amazing friendship. The anxiety rep was also spot on! I really enjoyed this book!
This was a really good book. It was a little slow in the beginning but once it got going it kept my attention. Make sure to check the trigger warnings.
