"This story was lovely and so engaging, I could read it over and over. The flow of it and the prose had the elegance of a ballet performance." ~ Ms Romantic Reads My brother is both powerful and cruel, which means I have a lot of enemies I've never met. He swears he'll keep me safe, but what I want most is to break free. I especially want to break free with Drew, my brother's lawyer. I've spent my life under glass. One night when he's outside my bedroom, I give him a sexy show. And in doing so, unlock pandora’s box. Drew shows me everything I’ve been missing. He touches my body and my heart, but when the truth comes to light, we're both in danger. The cost of my freedom may be the man I’ve come to love.

This book was hot, romantic and with very good plot. A very nice read if you want to get lost in a sweet story!

There was a slow, sweet seduction that kept me eagerly awaiting the next interlude between the charismatic ballerina Rose and the successful lawyer Drew. Loved how Rose gave him a sexy, seducing show and adored how Drew wanted her just as badly.

Her playful tease and flirtatious attitude made her intentions clear and Drew was more than willing to indulge. Drew had been secretly in love with her for many years and, finally, he thought she was ready to find love…with him.

I especially adored how Rose bloomed in her own quite way and learned to be independent away from her over-protective brother, Philip.

This was a very quick, easy read. The story flowed smoothly, the characters were likable and I found myself really caring about the outcome of the storyline. All scenes were well written and attention grabbing.

Rose and Drew are explosive together. I'd recommend the book for a wonderful erotic light read with action and steam.

It's ok.

Rose and her brother Phillip had a rough early few years, now he's a success and he feels very protective of her and she lives her life around him but she's about to break free.
Rose is a ballet dancer but she's getting older and her body has been put through too much, her knees are shot and she realises she can't continue like this but she has a plan, a dancing school.
She's all set, she has the money she's found the place and it even has a living space upstairs for her, she has the experience so all she's got to do now is actually tell her brother she's opening up and moving out.
This alone is a big thing considering who her brother is but she's also fighting a losing battle with her attraction for Drew, her brothers lawyer and number one man.
This a fairly short read at only 147 pages and I'm sorry to say it didn't completely work for me, something was missing I never really felt connected to Rose or Drew and I didn't feel their attraction. I suppose from the blurb I expected a slightly darker maybe a little more gritty read perhaps and while there's plenty of sex in this I felt the story itself lacked any real depth.

There is always a pointed intensity to Skye Warren's books. Well written and a quick read.
A bit TOO quick.
I won't use the word easy for these books! They are about people who live hard lives and find love in harsh and brutal places. Sad & uplifting at the same time. They have a soulful lyrical rhythm to them. So hard for a person to explain that doesn't have the gift of writing! So worth reading!!

Although I am confused as to who the author of this one really is. On my Amazon it is Skye Warren, but here on goodreads it shows up as Amber Lin. I don't know if they are one in the same or 2 different people. I would love some insight here!!

Sweet is a novella released in the Chicago Underground series which tells the story of Rose (Colin and Philip's younger sister) and Drew, the family attorney.

From the moment Drew starting working for them, he has been attracted to Rose. They would always watch each other and Drew has been there to help protect her always. Rose is now ready to start living on her own. She wants to start a ballet business and move out and get her own apartment. She's also ready to pursue Drew and see how far he's willing to push their attraction. Although she's scared of Philip's reaction, she's willing to risk it if it means getting Drew.

This was a quick, sweet story about love and finally getting everything you want.

Can't say there was anything wrong with it. Just wasn't for me. I didn't even realize it was a book 7(??) in a series. I never felt lost. It was, as the title suggests, a very Sweet read. Perhaps too sweet for my particular tastes.

I read the Kindle version of this story in the Billionaires and Ballerinas three stories. Beware - these short stories have already been released and I have only realized that when I began to read them. Sweet is part of a series already released by Skye Warren

Reasonable Doubt Whitney G - have already read.

Step Back Katie De Long - new author and a new read

Decent Stories and worth a download if not ready but keep in mind they are part of a series already released.

This is the seventh book in the Chicago Underground series. The first 3 books are Allie and Colin, books 4-6 are Shelly and Luke. This one is Rose and Drew. While you don't need to read the previous six novellas first, we do meet both of the characters in the first 3 books.

This one is different from the previous books. It's more sweet, not too much drama. Besides Phillip, but he's a jerk anyways.

Rose is a ballerina that is living under her older brothers thumb, she's always had a crush on Drew, Phillip's lawyer. But she's ready to follow her dreams of opening up her own studio and to move out.

Her and Drew finally realize that they both have feelings for each other.

The story felt a little rushed to me, didn't got really deep into their relationship. Plus what really threw me off was in the first set of books (sorry, but I can't remember which book out of the 3), Allie catches Rose and Drew making out. But in this one, that never happened and their first kiss in this book was their very first kiss. At least that's how it came across to me.

Still a good, quick read.

Too short

This was a good book to begin the story of Drew and Rose, but there could have been more. Bits and pieces were alluded to them in other books which would have fleshed out their story in Sweet. Even though this gives background, it seems unfinished. But it was still good. I would recommend it.

Sweet and sexy hot

I loved Drew and Rose's story. Skye Warren is such a great story teller. She writes with such warmth of character and deep understanding of human nature. This truly was a sweet story of love.

We met our leading characters throughout the first several books in this ‘series, so it’s nice to see how things play out. Rose is a character that we got to know when we saw relationships grow between Allie and Colin and then again when Shelly was spending time with Phillip. We know she’s a talented dancer and we know that she’s been fairly sheltered much of her life, but now it’s her time to get a story.

We met Drew books as well, watching the world that he did with the brothers to keep them out of trouble. We learn that his past is a bit more ambitious than we know, and that his loyalty continues to advance him professionally and personally.

At the point in time that we are with this story, we’re watching how Rose is finally coming into her own. She knows that she can’t dance forever and has been planning for when that time comes. She’s planning to open her own dance studio and it seems to be getting more and more real. She finds a location that’s ideal, and what makes it even better is that there’s an apartment above that she can make into her own with some love and renovations and that means that she can begin to live her own life out from under the super watchful eye of her brother.

While she’s coming to terms with being independent, she chooses to take another risk – that of putting her feelings out there with Drew, and seeing where that goes. They’ve been dancing around each other for years, knowing that Phillip won’t like the idea of them together and knowing that it could impact everything. They still can’t stay away from each other, even when they know that there’s danger coming from many places.

There are lies and secrets. Happiness and loss. attempts at killing people and a fear of what the future holds. We know that the life that Phillip leads isn’t one that’s super legal, but we also know that more often than not, Drew and Phillip try to do the most righteous things they can with what they’re working with and they pay the price. everyone does.

As always in these books,, we want to hope for the happy ending and I suppose that’s what we’ll do here. Romance and patience always win out – right?

Skye Warren is an author that never works for me in the way they seem to work for everyone else. They appear in so many box sets that I purchase, however, that I constantly find myself reading more with the hope this will be the book to let me see what everyone else sees. Sadly, Sweet was not that book.

Sweet is part of the Chicago Underground series, and it can be read as a standalone romance. However, there are many unanswered questions about the world that made it difficult to connect to the story. While the story attempted to be something sweet with just a hint of what I imagine to be the ‘underground’ element of the series, it never quite hit me in the intended way as I was lacking details. It felt like this was a bonus for fans, not something that works if you want to understand everything from a single book. Even elements that were important to this story were glossed over. Due to this, I found the moments of enjoyment I experienced were almost equal to the number of moments where I was left wanting more.

All in all, this was an okay read from Skye Warren. I am sure I could have enjoyed it more, yet it did not quite pack the punch for me.

This story is so fast paced that it feels like something is missing. It was all over the place, for me. Nothing was ever really discussed in detail. Like why, at 26, she's still trapped by her brother's over protectiveness. What really happened when she was 16, it was just mentioned in a couple of sentences and then brushed off.

I didn't really feel a connection with her and Drew. It was like, "oh, I like him and he likes me" and that was it. No showing why they really liked each other.

No something I will want to read again. Once was enough.

The novella is a tough form. And while there are some I really enjoy, most novellas feel under-developed and incomplete to me. This one was full of Warren’s characteristic dramatic prose and description (one does not undress or disrobe, one sheds clothing “like skin of old”). But ultimately, it rushed through too many pivotal moments and left too much unsaid for my taste. Drew, in particular, was fascinating but incomplete. Rose was unexpected, and I wanted to know Drew as well as we came to know Rose.) Mafia ballet.

Exactly how old is Rose and Drew? They seemed very juvenile whenever they tried to get intimate. Drew has had a crush on Rose for a very long time but since he works for her brother he has never made it known. Until Rose takes it upon herself to show him that she returns his feelings. Phillip isn't happy about their sneaking around and causes them problems.
This was a nice short story.

A nice short read about Rose and Drew. Though there was an overload of drama and something was just always missing for me. Some connection, or something. I can't point my finger at it, but this story lacked a certain je ne sais quoi.

A good sweet read.

A good sweet read. Fast pace entertaining with little drama. Drew and Rose didn't disappoint. I wanted more of a back story on the brother Drew. Can't wait to read the brothers book.

One of my first Skye Warren series and I finally read Rose's book! Rose is all over the place for me: protected, but experienced to the dark side of life; subservient yet bold and ready to take on the world. Drew has been waiting and admiring from afar.

Rose and Drew's story. I loved the banter between them and the fact they had an attraction for so long before acting on it. I really enjoyed this novella.
