Everything’s changed in the year since Claire first saw William in her favorite café. Back then, all she wanted was to remember who she was and where she came from. William had the answers she needed and the love she'd forgotten, but the information came hand in hand with dangerous enemies, shocking revelations, and immense power. As she stumbled from discovery to discovery, running from those who wanted her dead, she unknowingly unleashed a terrible set of monsters on the world – the Exiled. And, in a desperate attempt to save her own life, Claire revealed one of creation’s darkest secrets: vampires are real. Humanity has since spiraled into panic. Out of the chaos steps Alec Lewis – the founder of the Order of the Righteous Hand of God. Hell-bent on finding and killing Claire and William, Alec makes a deal with the Exiled, one he believes will vault him into a position of power, making him an emperor to reign over a world controlled by fear. Meanwhile, the Council is fracturing, split down the middle on how to deal with Claire and William. If the Council ruptures, centuries of spite will terrorize the mortal world. Still struggling with her lack of memories, Claire must face the Council, the Exiled, and the Order; three entities consumed by the desire to claim the world for its own.
The 2nd book of the Immortal Memories series was really awesome. It fleshed out the missing pieces of the characters and answered those questions we were left with at the conclusion of book #1. I love the plot of this series. It's a totally different twist to the average vampire story. The good and the bad, both human and vampire, are totally believable. Now I gotta find #3! Kudos to R. M. Webb.
