I got off to a rough start with the three new men in my life, to put it lightly. But after making a discovery that changed the course of our lives, Caden and I must put our differences aside and work together to find out the truth of the fate of our lost brothers on the day they died.
Alfie's the one who’s cared for me in this house. I need him now more than ever so I can survive whatever might come next.
Fiz tests my patience, although there’s something about him that draws me in. As if he understands me more than anyone else. He’s determined to wear me down, but I must keep them all at arm’s length.
Being in a house with these three could be the best thing that ever happened to me. But if they ever find out the secrets I carry close to my chest, wear the scars of on my body, it will be my demise.
Danger seems to be lurking around the corner, hiding in the shadows, ready to pounce. When the stakes are high, will it bring the four of closer together, or rip us further apart?
I can only hope for the best, and prepare for the worst.

Boy does it feel good to be back with the Blackwoods!! This book picked up perfectly where deprived left us and the dark gritty story continues!
I love how different all of the characters relationships are but I especially loved the grovelling and the amount of detail that was put into the emotions in this book!
This book was just as gripping and heart breaking as the first, and the ending has set this up for a thriller of a book 3!!!

I was gifted an early e-book of Fractured, from the Author. This is for nothing more than my Honest Review. This review is my own and is therefore…. Honest!
If you are looking for a clean/soft/fluffy/happy romance, you will not find that here.
Fractured is book 2 of a continuous tale across three books. If you have not yet read part one ‘Deprived’, please go read about the start of Elodie’s journey with Caden, Alfie, and Fiz. Then join us in the second part with Fractured.

My thoughts!
Book 1 Deprived was amazing this was next level! Book 3 will smash this trilogy out of the park!
I am freaking loving this trilogy and in this book ,Fractured, so bloody good! There is just So much frustration , in a good way, you get trauma, you get the tension, you get spice, you get more insight to these men and why they are so brutally messed up but can be soft toward her, I mean she is also a mess but do you blame any of them with the things they’ve been through… there is so much hurt and pain, realisation, mystery and feelings but what a journey it all was.
“I’m made of dark stuff. My soul’s black and incapable of tenderness. I’ve been crafted for death and destruction.”
Though answers to questions still linger and with another book I feel will be the healing stages, or at least somewhat healing thats good for them! So much was packed into this and you bet I was freaking here for it!
“Elodie Valor has sunk her claws into me, and I may as well surrender to it. There’s no dislodging her now.”
The adult tag game ha ha gosh that, yup so good! Elodie loves to bait Caden and he Cant stand it! I’ve loved Caden from the start even before reading book 1 and now enjoying Fiz and Alfie in this one too! Elodie you lucky women he he.
“You look so pretty on the brink of collapsing around me, El.”
All of these characters go so welll together, the stories for their past are so well done and you feel like you know them more now with this book . I can not wait for book 3 but also it’s going to be sad to see the end!
I loved being back with the Blackwoods and Elodie. These characters are unhinged, complex and flawed and they all bring something unique to the group which makes the dynamics between them all amazing. You’ve got Alfie who’s like the gentle giant and was my number one in Deprived. Fiz who is the wild one and completely stole the limelight in this book, I totally fell hard for Fiz! Caden who is unhinged and cold and Elodie who is unbelievably strong and resilient.
Fractured was definitely a character focused booked. We got a lot of character development from all 4 of our MCs and we learned more of their back stories which helps you to understand why they are the way they are. Fiz and Alfie’s backstory broke my heart and made me love them all the more. As much as I love character development though, I also like it to be balanced with the plot so this is definitely more a me issue, but I feel this book could have been shorter or more plot focused.
The pacing was much slower than book 1 and I do feel like the plot about Caden and Elodies brothers was pushed to the side. That’s something that really intrigued me at the end of Fractured so I was super excited to figure out more about what happened to their brothers in this book. I understand it’s a side plot and not the main focus, however that plot has barely been moved forward and although I know we will get some big reveals in the final book, I would have liked a little bit more focus on that plot line.
The delicious, torturous, tension filled slow burn between Elodie and Caden finally ignites towards the end in Fractured but not the way I expected and I was a bit taken aback by how things went. I wasn’t trigged by it at all, I just didn’t understand it, but I can’t say more for spoilers. I did however absolutely love the spice and growing romance between Elodie and Alfie and Elodie and Fiz and am definitely looking forward to more of this in the final book 😍
With regard to the ending, it was a bit abrupt and I was not expecting it to end where it did, but I am super intrigued to see how things will be wrapped up. I can foresee Alfie losing it in the final book, there is now way we cannot see his unhinged side and I’m so looking forward to that!!
Although I had a couple of issues with Fractured it was still a good read that I enjoyed overall. I absolutely love these characters and I cannot wait to see how their story concludes in the final book!
Thank you so much to the author Jasmine Rae/E.L. Hicks for gifting me an eARC. All opinions are my own.
The second book in the Obsidian Souls series. Check trigger warnings before reading.
What a rollercoaster of a ride Fractured is. When I read book one, Deprived, I was hooked!
Fractured jumps straight back into the story, which I really liked, rather than spending chapters recapping everything from book one. We’re thrown straight back in with the Blackwood boys and Elodie.
Fractured is unhinged, spicy, packed with red flags, and I loved every minute of it!
Elodie’s relationships with Caden, Fiz and Alfie deepen, and she really starts embracing who she is and what she’s capable of. She’s unapologetic about her desires and isn’t afraid to voice them. You really begin to understand why she fits so well with the Blackwood family 🖤
I loved getting to know Fiz better too. There’s so much more to him than the man we’re introduced to in the first book. The same can be said for Alfie. The big softie isn’t quite the gentle giant we first thought he was.
And Caden, I’m still Team Caden, but I have to admit there were plenty of moments where it was impossible not to root for all three MMCs.
Fiz absolutely stole the limelight in this book. 😬
The dynamic between Elodie, Fiz, Alfie and Caden works so well. Each relationship brings something different. The banter is hilarious at times and completely outrageous at others. Alongside the chemistry and spice, there’s still an underlying mystery slowly unravelling.
I enjoyed this book so much that when I reached the end, I had the exact same reaction I did after book one… NOOOO! I NEED MORE!!
This book focuses more on the characters than the plot, but I think it really works. We get to understand who they are, how their pasts have shaped them, their fears, their trauma and the people they’ve become.
If you’re after a dark romance with heavy spice, morally grey characters and complete chaos, this series is definitely worth picking up. I’m already counting down until book three because I need to know what happens next!
Thank you to the author, Jasmine Rae, for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I thought the first installment was impeccable, but somehow Jasmine has managed to outdo herself. I can safely say this is one of my favourite books of 2026. Jasmine managed to perfectly develop the story as well as the characters whilst keeping the tension and plot up. I'm honestly floored, speechless and will be screaming, crying and throwing up for the foreseeable. Speaking further about the character development. I couldn't stop giggling when Caden showed his jealousy every time Elodie preferred spending time with Fiz or Alfie, honestly it was hilarious and I'm just glad he started to show some sort of emotion, instead of being emotionally constipated. He does develop even further but I won't give away any spoilers! My cheeky chappy Fiz is still doing bits in Fractured which I was very happy to see, but the fact we got to see a bit more of his serious side when it came to El was amazing. I was nervous he would mess her around, but he surprised me and I've never been happier to be wrong. After everything that we find out in Fractured about what El, Caden, Alfie and Fiz have been through in their lives I'm so glad they found some form of trust and comfort in each other. Especially for Alfie and Fiz. My poor Alfie. The urge to reach into the book and give him the biggest hug was clawing at me like nothing else. Jasmine really delved into the characters' vulnerabilities in this one and reading it broke my heart into a million pieces for each one of them. I'm proud of my babies for letting their walls down a bit though, despite everything. Which was A LOT! Even if it did take a hot minute. We're not 100%, but it's getting there. Imma trust the process. Also, we need to take a minute to appreciate the smut cause holy mother of Hobnobs...I can't even begin to put into words how hot, thigh shaking and drool inducing the spicy scenes are. My tummy kept doing the thing...and IYKYK! As per, I will be feral until I have the last installment of this trilogy and will make sure to keep up my stash of hobnobs and custard cremes for part 3.
🖤 Enemies-to-lovers 🖤 Forced Proximity 🖤 Feminine Rage 🖤 Revenge 🖤 Reverse Harem Spice:🌶🌶🌶 Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Book 2 in the Obsidian Souls Triology
I absolutely devoured this book, everything you could want from a dark romance read, thank you so much for this ARC, I love it! 🖤
High stakes tension, secrets and deception, spicy scenes/flirty banter, brutal consequences and emotional wreckage all the way through. There was a chapter that broke my heart and had me raging all at once.
Elodie such an emotionally complex character and after everything she has survived it's no suprise. I love how her confidence built throughout this book and every time she got a bit of her spark back I was cheering her on.
I had a crush on Fiz in book one but I absolutely fell for him in this, he somehow got even better! His idea of a date is utterly unhinged but perfect for the man that he is. He is so cute, funny and sweet for a slightly psychotic unaliver. Total red flag heartthrob 🖤
Another brilliant shower scene with Caden and Elodie! I love this easy flirty side of Cade that we get glimpses off in between his broody meltdowns. I really like how Caden and Elodie didnt go from enemies-to-lovers in a few chapters and that there has been so much tension between them. The hate, distrust and resentment runs deep but as they both battle their emotions it becomes obvious to everyone but them how much they care for each other. Really enjoyed reading how their dynamic changed again and again.
I am so ready for hurricane Alfie. He's held it together for so long and I can't wait to see another side of him in the next book.
There are still huge secrets to be revealed in the next book and I cannot wait to see the fall out.
Fractured gave me so much of what I loved in the first book—the spice was definitely spicing, and I really enjoyed the relationships and connections between Alfie, Fiz, and Eloide. However, the relationship that stood out to me the most was Caden and Elodie’s. Their connection had me emotionally invested, and I loved seeing their relationship continue to develop.
There are still a few things I’m curious to see explored further. I was hoping we would get more clarity surrounding what happened to Max and Lewis, Elodie and Caden’s brothers. There was a lot of speculation, which left me with even more questions by the end. I’m really hoping book three finally gives us the full story and brings some closure to that mystery.
I was also hoping to see more of the “why choose” dynamic throughout this book. Since it didn’t fully involve all three MMCs in the way I had envisioned, I found myself wanting more of that group dynamic. I would absolutely love to see it explored further in book three.
Overall, I still really enjoyed Fractured—especially the spice, the relationships, and the emotional connection between Caden and Elodie. Even with the questions I still have, I’m invested in these characters and excited to see where the story goes next. I’m looking forward to seeing more of the full “why choose” dynamic and hopefully learning what truly happened to Max and Lewis.
ARC: Took me a minute to read this because i just had a baby but my oh my was it everything and more! J is such a talented author honestly i was hooked from chapter 1 just like in book 1! This book has me feeling all the emotions and i absolutely loved it! My ranking from book 1 was Fiz, Alfie and Caden…however now it is Caden, Fiz, Alfie. The depth of these characters is insane, i feel so incredibly proud of each of them in different ways and Elodie bless her heart has put up with such life changing things and yet remains strong! The mental health aspects of this series is written so beautifully too it is truly amazing how perfectly it is all written! Each twist and turn of this book is perfectly timed and each thing has me gripped not wanting to put the book down “just 1 more chapter…” i said at 10pm only to blink and it was 4am and i hadn’t slept all night with a newborn…but did i regret it? Absolutely not because this book was my second 5 star read of the year!!!!
J…you are a wonderful author and i cannot wait for book 3! You should be beyond proud of yourself because i know i am proud of you! From reading your first ever book to now this i can see how far you have come and how well you respond to feedback and it is incredible! You are inspiring so well done!
Fractured felt a bit like coming home. It was so nice to be back with these characters and back in this world, and despite everything going on, there’s something strangely cosy about spending time with them.
The story kept me guessing throughout and definitely had me invested in where the plot is heading next. That said, I found the pacing noticeably slower than the first book, and there were more than a few moments where I was practically screaming at the characters to sort their shit out already 😅.
What continues to stand out to me, though, is how complex and realistic these characters feel. They’re all so layered, flawed, and human in a way that feels incredibly genuine. Even when they’re frustrating me, I still find myself completely invested in them and their journeys.
Overall, I really enjoyed this instalment and I’m excited to see where the story goes next.
🚨 SPOILER 🚨
I am absolutely gagging for my girl Elodie to get some with Fiz and Alfie. (my shayla’s 🫶)
Also, Caden’s 10 Things I Hate About You moment had me giggling and kicking my feet. I fear I was far too entertained by that scene
‘Fractured’ was such an emotional rollercoaster of a read for me, It definitely did not disappoint! I felt so many emotions while reading, I love how much detail has been put into the backstory. We learn so much more about Caden, Fiz and Alfie and the trauma they’ve been through in their lives and it had me feeling fragile, but if a book makes me feel fragile then it’s a winner.
My favourite parts of the books were Elodie being unhinged unapologetically, she is an absolute firecracker and I’m here for it. She is a lady that knows her worth and I love that all sides of her character are shown, the way her ptsd is portrayed is on point. The boys being extremely protective over her was also one of my favourite parts, their vulnerability was really showing in this book and I can officially say they’ve all grown on me now!
As a whole, if you’re a dark romance lover, just sprint to read this series, start with book 1 ‘Deprived’ because this series is absolutely fantastic! I am obsessed, I’m going to be forever raving about this series. There are a lot of heavy subjects, be sure to read the trigger warnings, this isn’t a fluffy romance.
some of the tropes: 🖤 reverse harem 🩶 enemies to lovers 🖤 feminine rage 🩶 forced proximity 🖤 forced engagement 🩶 touch her and 💀 🖤 morally grey/black 🩶 found family 🖤 yearning 🩶 revenge
i could not be happier to be back with the Blackwoods and Elodie after book one and they definitely did not disappoint 🥹
again this book is DARK so please check TWs, there is some dark and sensitive topics so pls take care of yourself 🫶🏼
this book is definitely a rollercoaster that will give you whiplash but i expect nothing less you will be addicted im warning you
i love the development of all of their relationships and getting to know even more of each of their backstories and trauma i wasn’t expecting this but Fiz has become one of my favourite characters so far the woods scene 👀👀
this book is definitely still as heart breaking and gripping as the first and i’m absolutely in love with this authors writing i just know book 3 will be just as amazing and i can’t wait to see where this story goes
thank you so much for a chance to be part of the ARC team again 🥹 i loved every second
*** If you love dark romance, morally gray characters, found family, forbidden tension, enemies who can’t stay away from each other, and a story that keeps you on edge — you NEED this trilogy. ***
I had the absolute privilege of receiving this book early as a beta reader, and I am OBSESSED.
The push and pull between the characters? Absolutely addictive. The chemistry is off the charts, the hate-to-need-you energy is everything, and the tension had me screaming at my phone! The romance, the angst, the moments of vulnerability, the absolutely delicious conflict — it all hits exactly where it needs to.
I loved watching the characters navigate their trauma, secrets, and the threats closing in around them. There’s so much more beneath the surface, and every reveal made me need answers immediately. The stakes feel higher, the bonds feel stronger, and I’m genuinely terrified/excited for what’s coming next.
And finally thank you my girl for letting me beta read this masterpiece, I’m so incredibly proud of you. I love you🩷
Alfie... still my favourite 😭! That giant, Lego-building softie has my whole heart, and every time he appeared on the page, I loved him even more.
Jasmine's biggest strength for me has always been her characters, and that was true here too. Every character in this trilogy feels so distinct, and I loved learning more about all of the boys' pasts. As heartbreaking as some of those reveals were, they added so much depth to each of them. And honestly... some of the reveals had me absolutely raging for them!
Elodie continues to be such a badass FMC, and I loved spending more time with all their madness. This series definitely doesn't hold back on the dark elements, and there were more than a few moments that had me in a chokehold. Jasmine's writing is so immersive that I always feel like I'm right there with the characters.
Now give me book three! I NEED to know how this trilogy ends, and I genuinely cannot wait for the final instalment.
We’re back with Fiz, Alfie, Caden, and Elodie, and let’s just say a lot happens. Obviously, I am fully committed to Calodie, but I have to admit that I’ve become quite fond of Alfred and Franklin too.
In this book, we still don’t get all the answers we’re desperately looking for just yet. Instead, we dive deeper into everyone’s feelings, relationships, survival, and how they each cope with every shitty thing life has thrown at them.
This story is emotional on every front. I loved getting to know these characters more and more with each chapter. All the fights, heartbreak, and uncertainty made the journey completely worth it.
The book was amazing, which honestly came as no surprise! I couldn’t put it down and was always counting down the hours until I could pick it up again the next morning.
Fractured is the second book in the Obsidian Souls Trilogy and was so good I could not put it down and was even dreaming about it when I was asleep😂
This book was such a ride. One minute I was giggling, another I was blushing and the next I was crying but I would not have it any other way 🙌🏽
This story has so much character development and shows that no matter how strong and fierce a man can look and act, deep down they are just as vulnerable as any other person and once that vulnerability shows in each of these characters, you fall in love with them that little bit more 🥹
If you haven't read any of the books by Jasmine Rae then you are missing out on something great 😏
The emotional rollercoaster I was on with this book was absolutely insane but I truly did make it 10/10, hearing backstories of some characters just really make you stop and just feel how the character would have felt 😫 I was completely blown away from every chapter I was literally just flying through it. Eventually slowed down near the end to fully enjoy the experience of being back with my absolute favourite boys and our queen Elodie 👑!! This author NEVER disappoints whatsoever forever inlove with her writing and work and can’t wait to see what mores to come… Holy moly this was just an absolute pleasure to read as an arc thank you again and always for the opportunity 🖤.
YEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!! Finally! I loved the way this progressed. Without getting into spoilers I'm just going to say I was left VERY satisfied considering we have another cliffhanger ending and still SEVERAL unanswered questions.
Fractured builds on all the loose ends from Deprived and yet some. We see so much character development here it's mental. I was first pumping the air on several occasions because HECK YEAH!
All this did was make me fall deeper in love with the MMCs and FMC we embraced in book 1 and get even MORE invested in the greater storyline. I'm impatient and unstable so if we can keep the momentum going, that would be great 🤣
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thank you to Jasmine Rae and EL Hicks for the opportunity to ARC read Fractured. OMG, I loved this book! The tension is unreal, the emotions hit hard, and the story completely pulled me in from the very first page. I loved watching the relationships develop while the mystery and danger kept me on the edge of my seat. If you loved Deprived as much as I did, you'll love Fractured too. It's an emotional, addictive, and suspenseful read that leaves you desperate for more. I can't wait for the next book! ❤️📚✨
Ok, Deprived was amazing, but this was absolutely phenomenal. This book had me in a chokehold from start to finish.
Elodie, Cade , Alfie and Fiz all return for another installment in their story, and it is one hell of a ride. Revelations, twists, turns and the dynamics between them all are absolute perfection.
The main side characters are deliciously despicable. Alfie's mum is amazing and I'd love to see more of her if the story calls for it.
I cannot wait for the final installment in this trilogy. I need it like I need air to breathe right now.
Fractured. Where do I start with you!! It was great being back. This book was just as good as the first and I cannot wait for the third and last instalment of the trilogy. If you haven’t met the boys yet I suggest you do. This book was slow burn, spicy but most of all it follows a great plot. If you’re looking for a book with Reverse harem that isn’t over done with spice where you get to know each character and their personalities. This trilogy is for you.
It’s so good to be back home with the Blackwoods 🖤 I was obsessed with book one and even more obsessed with book two! Fractured had me feeling every emotion going.. the slow burn got me all frustrated but was so worth it.. i absolutely love each relationship Elodie has with the guys and this book goes into more depth on each of them and i loved it! The story overall for me so far is *chefs kiss* and I can’t wait for book three!
Absolutely smashed book 2. It was everything I hoped for and more. The fighting, the yearning, the begging, the apologys, the spice. It was all so good. Now I'm a Fiz girl through and through but Cad has wriggled his way into my heart, the emotions he showed in the second half had me in tears. Now the way this ended was amazing, it wasn't rough or had me screaming but made me excited for more.
Absolutely devoured this book as I did the first, so lucky you receive an arc copy of the second book too, and I cannot wait for the next!! It kept me gripped the whole time and I just loveee this story ❤️
I had so much to write about this book; about how I felt sorry for Caden, wanted to shake Elodie and tell her to forgive him. Then several things happened: El pushing Caden to extremes The attack The ‘I HATE YOU’ speech And my heart exploded 🧨❤️💥 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Arc Review. Fractured, the 2nd instalment of The Obsidian Souls Trilogy is a multi POV RH Dark Romance, packed with morally black characters, trauma bonding, forced proximity, emotional turmoil, banter, feminine rage, forced proximity, mental health rep, angst and yearning. Picking up from where we left off in Deprived after Elodie chose to stay and work with Caden, we are taken on an emotional rollercoaster. I absolutely devoured this book, it was so addictive, I could not put it down. I thought the character development and the deep dive into the complexities of each characters past and how it has impacted them and moulded them into who they are now was so well done. The tension and emotional turmoil throughout had me so deeply invested and connected to the characters and their journeys, I felt everything they felt from rage, grief, angst, joy, to despair. This book repeatedly tore out my heart and put it back together in the best way. I really admired Elodie’s growth and tenacity after all she has endured and continues to experience. The feminine rage and seeing her strength and confidence build, reflecting her inner strength, grit and shear determination to survive was so empowering and really resonated with me. I absolutely love Franklin AKA Fiz, the little menace that he is. I love how unhinged he is, I just adore him. I already loved him from Deprived, but his journey and character development had be falling for him even harder. “How is this the same guy who threatened to fuck me with an axe in a DIY store?” I loved the progression of the groups dynamics and the intricacies of how each characters own flaws and unhinged personalities contributes to it. I really enjoyed seeing a more fun and wild side to the characters as they started to bond and build a foundation to their relationships and started to trust each other more. Caden’s and Elodie’s journey together throughout this continued to be filled with tension, angst, and emotional turmoil, both too stubborn for their own goods to let each other in. I really enjoyed the changes we see in Caden’s character and get to experience his own self- revelations with him. I especially found myself cackling at a particularly unexpected cheeky unhinged act of his with a particular cooler box. (IYKYK) I absolutely loved every moment of being reunited with these unhinged characters and their journeys together, emotional turmoil and all. I cannot wait to devour book 3, I am already foaming at the mouth. The Obsidian Souls Trilogy has quickly become one of my favourite series, and I cannot wait for more!
5⭐️ 4🌶 Do you know what it's like when you can't put a book down? You're trying to read as fast as you can because you are dying to know what happens but at the same time you don't want it to end, you want it to last forever. So what do you do? Well you read faster and then when you get to the last page you just turn back to the first and begin it all again. That is excactly how I felt reading this book. I didn't even take very many notes because I was so in it, all I could do was turn the page. One of the few quotes I wrote down was, "i'll be damned if I die at the hands of this man. Of any man. He broke me once. He will not break me again. I'll go on my own terms." Such a good book and series, a must read for fans of dark romance.
