A Banker. A Cop. One Complicated Case.

Nothing just happens.
When Officer Chase Dawson pulls over Melanie Benson, he did not expect to feel an instant connection with this beautiful deaf woman. Chase asks Melanie out on a date but she turns him down flat. Lucky for Chase, their paths cross again when he is assigned the case of a missing deaf child. Chase knows this is God's doing. But, he wonders is this a fleeting attraction or real love?

Melanie Benson cannot believe how strongly she feels for a man she has just met. Because of past hurt, Melanie is leery to open her heart. For personal reasons, she especially would never date a cop. But when Melanie has to work with Chase on his case, they share a kiss that sets her heart ablaze. Will Melanie overcome her past pain and choose love?

Set in the small town of Port Charlotte, FL, SILENT PRAISE answers the question, Is there such a thing as love at first sight? And, if there is, what happens after that?

Silent Praise took me by surprise and it was a pleasure to read. The main character Melanie has had it pretty rough with a disability that was caused during her childhood, but she has found a way to lead a very productive and independent life. Chase is a police officer that feels an immediate connection to Melanie when he pulls her over. Melanie is hesitant to dating Chase and the friendship and love story that develops is one that we could all learn a lesson or two from.

"A butterfly is so beautiful that you want to catch it, hold onto it tight. But if you do, you'll crush it and it'll die. The key is to keep your hand open." Ted opened his palm. "The butterfly will flitter around here, there, and this way and that. But if you're patient, eventually the butterfly will land right into your hand."

I simply adore Michelle's style of writing and I think that she is one of the top writers in her genre which is christian fiction. She is not overly "preachy" and all of her books make you pause and think about what you would do and examine where you are on your christian walk. I applaud Silent Praise because it showcases the type of relationship we rarely see in literature: an interracial one. And, while this is a breath of fresh air, Silent Praise was an excellent book because it shows what can happen when we let our guards down, grant forgiveness, and allow ourselves to give and receive love.

Worthy!

This was my first book by Michelle Lindo-Rice and I loved it! This story grabbed a hold of me from the first page until the last. I laughed, I cried and I praised God for the incredibly well written and sincere storybook. The journey of all of the characters resonated with on me.

I felt Melanie's pain and heartache. I understood her hurt and pledge to not become involved. I understood Chase and his anger. I felt the pull between them and applaufed when they accepted how God meant for them to be together.

I would recommend this book to anyone that needs to be reminded about God's faithfulness. I would recommend this book to anyone just meeting God. I would recommend this book for someone needing God. This story is there for anyone and everyone no matter what you believe. But I know God is able. Thank you Ms. Rice for an amazing book.

Love Has No Color:Won't He do it

I'm not good at writing reviews, but good Lord this book was some kind of good. In this book, we meet Melanie who has been deaf since the age of five. Then we meet Chase who is a cop who pulls over Melanie. Chase and Melanie meet when Chase pulls Melanie over for speeding and it's on frowm there. Miss lindo-rice has weaved tale of God's forgiveness and how love can heal all wounds. Even though this is an interracial romance I did not see color. I had to keep, looking at the cover to see who was black and who was white. As I said to miss lindo-rice on Facebook, I'm sad the book is over, but I'm smiling because the book was soo good. This book makes me want a love like Melanie and Chase. Kudos and a standing ovation to miss lindo-rice.

Michelle Lindo-Rice is an awesome writer. Every time I read one of her books and I think that one is my favorite and the next comes out and its even better. Michelle takes us through the lives of Melanie and Chase. There are many obstacles that Melanie and Chase go through that gives us the reader the courage to know that we can survive a lot obstacles we may face. In this book you will learn about forgiveness and salvation. Sometimes God allows us to go through certain things so that others may be saved and we also may lose close relationship so that we ourselves can be saved. Once again I say congratulations to Michelle. I am looking forward to her next 5 star read.

I've always been a firm believer that love knows no color; Silent Praise by author Michelle Lindo-Rice is a perfect example of that. Melanie and Chase come from completely different backgrounds, and yet they both still find their way to one another. Throughout all the obstacles, love still prevailed. I love that with each and every one one of Ms. Lindo-Rice's books, there is always a subtle message, and they are always faith-filled. This book had me engaged from the first page to the last, and I could not put it down! She has truly become one of my favorite authors, and I am always happy to recommend her books to friends & family.

After reading this captivating tale of love, hot pursuit, inspiration, and family drama, I can definitely tell that Ms. Rice-Lindo has grown as an author. However, as a reviewer who is committed to "telling it like it is," I must say that although this book was fairly good, that it still had a few issues (i.e. some lagging, believability, & character development).

Other than that, I enjoyed reading it.

Giving this one: 3 solid stars.

Superb! What's meant to be will ALWAYS find its way! Silent Praise is a story of Life, Loss, Love & Forgiveness. The story is well written, enjoyable & grabs you at the prologue. Every emotion will be experienced. You will fall in love with Chase & Melanie. There are many nuggets to walk away with in the story, the main ones being "There is no limit to what God can do & God's way is not our way"! This story is a definite page turner from beginning to end!!!

You don't have to hear to know love you just have to feel. Melanie is deaf and doesn't trust police and Chase is a policeman who falls for Melanie from the moment they met. When a child goes missing their lives are intertwined and the love and forgiveness that comes after is nothing short of amazing. The author tells a story of how to allow healing in your life through love and forgiveness, because forgiveness is so much more for you than it is for the person you are forgiving.

As, Ted (Chase's dad) who are you his son asked, because Melanie recognized him as Uncle who caused her to never hear again.....one thing this book showed is that we must forgive. It is not easy but it is necessary in order for you to move forward in your purpose. Prayer is also vital to our lives. This is an excellent read by an excellent writer. I do recommend this book for various book clubs. Thank Michelle

I cried and laughed through this book!

The mysterious way the Lord works was evident in this story! Melanie's childhood was sad and horrible. Thank God for the Bensons! Chase and Melanie had some hills to claim, faith and trusting God brought them through. Love this author!
